"Marvin, it's another day to send bakery packages to these people!" a joyful tone spoken by Albert. It was just a normal morning. Kids were playing outside, young adults walking around, teenagers going to school and today, Marvin has a busy delivery schedule. Loads of customers had preordered and ordered many pastries for events and it's really mandatory that it would arrive early. As soon as Fred gave the packages to Marvin, he ran out with the orders carefully, prepping the packages into the cart with care—quickly getting on his own motorcycle and driving off.
Okay, first delivery! It goes to.... Ah Street #######, Around Bloxia town!
Marvin said to himself, focusing around that house. He sped up the motorcycle faster as the motor engine continues to emit smoke. The number of deliveries he had are seventeen, enough to fill up his cart. Arriving at the first stop, Marvin walked by the front door with two packages on hand and proceeded to knock on the door—but no one opened. There was loud music coming from the house despite how early it was. He knocked on the door again, still no response. Then realized, there was a fricking doorbell beside the wooden door. Pressing on the doorbell, a very loud ring echoed—enough for the neighborhood to hear which hurt Marvin's ear. When the door opened, a woman in her late twenties was holding beer.
"Ugh, is that my cupcakes? Give it HERE!" the woman said drunkenly, grabbing the packages by force. The confused delivery guy stared at her with disbelief but patiently waited for a tip. Suddenly, she threw the dollar at him hard and shut the door loudly. But he just shook his head and crouched down to grab the tip.
*Oh crackers, ONE SINGLE BUX TIP?? THE CUPCAKES COSTED MORE THAN A FIVE BUX?!!?*
Marvin was in disbelief by the horrendous single bux tip. But just told himself that there are more deliveries and they would be sure to give him those scrumptious juicylicious tips. After seven deliveries, he received 58 bux tips in total. Luckily there were nine more deliveries left—more deliveries, more tips! Making his way to his ninth house, he was pulled up by a police officer—Loexlei, looking quite stern and looking like this had happened before. "Loexlei, hi! What's going on!" the delivery guy asked concerned. The girl chuckled at him and said, "Oh don't worry Marvin, I'm just checking if you are speeding again like a few weeks ago!" He laughed at that response. "Oh man, I'm not gonna speed today! If ever i will, then just let me off the hook!"
"Marvin! You know that it's against the law!" she yelled out but laughed too. They both exchanged goodbyes and went separate ways. The delivery session continued, he witnessed a lot of stuff—like that mountain of turkey seasoned with spices behind the person, a couple arguing over who will get custody of their quadruplets, a home alone kid handing him thirty-three bux tips and an old man with five dogs barking behind him. What could get any worse, his thoughts mumbled as he reached the next home—ready for anything. Slowly, the door creaked open. A man in his thirties was holding paintbrushes, paint stains on his shirt, looking quite tired and hungry. Marvin quickly recognized the guy who took almost an hour on ordering at Patootie pastries and was defended by him. "Hey-hey man! what's up? Here is your vanilla cake!"
"Ah.. thank you kind boy, I couldn't thank you enough and the fact you defended me before. Have my remaining bux from my pocket." the awkward man brought up a hundred bux from his pocket. The sudden huge tip made Marvin's jaw drop, that's a huge tip for a single delivery boy. "Man, that's too much! You can't give me—" The person hushed him and placed the hundred bux on his hands, grinned and closed the door gently. The boy was stunned by what just happened, he could have asked for a less tip yet it was given to him genuinely. Which made him smile happily.
Onto the next delivery, Marvin knocked on the door like usual and a guy opened it. "Oh, is that my chocolate cake?" Aziel questioned to be sure. "Yeah man, it's uhhh chocolate cake with the peanuts as toppings as you requested!" he proudly said, unsure if this guy seemed upset—his voice was quite low and seemingly off. "Thank you." Aziel mumbled, handing him a ten bux tip and closing the door.
Hey, these two deliveries didn't seem chaotic like the last time! Maybe it's a sign that my last delivery would be good!
Marvin's thoughts assured him. Driving to the last delivery, he checked the time—it was 3:19pm. It's strange because these deliveries felt like only three hours. Now approaching the last area, it showed a nice looking restaurant with a lot of people inside. Walking inside, there was a lot of chatter going on around and went infront of the cash register, asking if anyone ordered for a two layer blueberry cake that shows a picture of the whole staff standing on a stick. "Yayy!! Guys, the cakes here!" A cheerful voice echoed through the restaurant, there was a middle aged woman running to the counter and held up the tip on her hands. "That would be ours!"
Now hold on a second, she seemed... familiar
"Oh, wait! Are you Albert's wife, oh-OH JULIET RIGHT?" Marvin exclaimed with a surprise look, realizing this woman looked like the person in Albert's picture stand on the kitchen counter. "Yes, yes I am! I ordered a blueberry cake with two layers! Did you bring it?" she grinned at him, waiting for a response. Marvin quickly nodded, handing over the box to her. Juliet grinned even more and thanked him for the delivery—handing him a fourty bux tip. "Thank you loads Juliet!" He said as he looked away and walked out of the restaurant.
Since all his deliveries were completed, he headed back to the bakery to drop off the tips before heading home.
