The Christmas spirit filled the house, and of course, Hyunjoon's characteristic bad mood of the last few months was also present.
“I hate you, did you know that?” he asked, taking a breath as Hyeonjun approached him.
"If I remember correctly, you were the one who said, 'Oh yeah, Reno, let's do another one, I want another one, oh yeah,'" he mimicked, moaning and earning a punch from Hyunjoon.
"Shut up!"
"So you have no right to complain" he said, stroking Hyunjoon's hair as Hyunjoon continued to lean back, his cheek pressed against the toilet.
"This sucks," he complained, throwing his head back as his throat burned.
"I don't remember your nausea lasting this long with Suhwan."
"It didn't!" he exclaimed, flushing and watching the disgusting thing go down the drain. "This baby is hurting too much, so I hope it's worth it."
"It's worth it. What do you say?" Hyunjoon sat leaning against the wall and placed one hand on his small stomach, covered by his sweatshirt. Hyeonjun sat beside him.
"My back hurts," he complained ruefully, letting out a sigh.
"It's normal. You're carrying more than your body is used to," he replied, getting up from the floor and stretching his arms. "Come on, cutie, go back to bed and rest."
Carefully, Hyeonjun helped Hyunjoon up and rubbed his back as they both left the bathroom and walked to the bedroom.
"I'll need a trash can. This is the second time I've gotten up to throw up, and I'm fed up with it."
"There's one in the kitchen. I'll get it if you need it," he kiss Hyunjoon forehead’s as he lay back down.
"We're here!" they heard Sanghyeok's voice from outside.
"I'll go get that trash can," Hyunjoon nodded, watching Hyeonjun leave the room.
“Well done, Rannie, and your stupid fantasy of having lots of Hyeonjun babies,” he scolded himself, staring at the ceiling. “You’re a huge idiot.” He lifted his sweatshirt slightly to stroke his belly as he felt the baby move.
“Daddy!” exclaimed five-year-old Suhwan in a squeaky voice as he ran to Hyunjoon to hug him.
“Careful, careful,” he said, preventing him from being rough with his belly, and the younger boy looked at him. “How was it at the park with Uncle Sanghyeok?”
“Great!” he exclaimed, climbing onto the bed to sit next to Hyunjoon. “He bought me an ice cream and took me on one of those push things”
“A swing?”
“A swing, yes,” the man with glasses smiled, stroking his son’s hair, and the little boy looked at his belly and poked it curiously. “Why does your tummy look like that, daddy?” he asked.
"Because there's a baby in here, your little brother." Suhwan opened his eyes and looked at him, frightened.
"Did you eat my little brother?"
"What? Suhwan, no."
"Are you going to eat me too?"
"No, no, Suhwan."
"Why do you eat babies? You're a monster!"
"What's all the commotion about?" Hyeonjun asked, entering the room and placing the trash can next to the bed.
Suhwan jumped out of bed and ran to him, hugging his legs while glaring at Hyunjoon.
"Daddy Rannie ate my brother!" he shouted angrily, and Hyeonjun looked at him in confusion.
"What?" he asked, puzzled.
"He said he had my little brother in his tummy."
“Yes, he has it, but it’s not because he ate it,” he denied with a smile, amused by Suhwan’s innocence. “If he had eaten it, it wouldn’t be in his tummy,” he muttered, and Hyunjoon glared at him.
“Mun Hyeonjun!” he exclaimed, annoyed, and threw one of the bed pillows at him.
“But it’s the truth!” Hyunjoon frowned, and Hyeonjun just smiled. “Now, Suhwan, come here.” Mun picked Suhwan up and laid him on the bed next to him, right at Hyunjoon’s belly. “This thing here is a baby, your brother, to be more specific,” he said, poking Junnie’s small belly as Suhwan looked at him. “Dad didn’t eat him, he’s growing in here, and in about four months… hopefully, he’ll come out, and you’ll be able to see him.”
“Why can’t I see him now? I want to see him now!”
“You can’t see it yet because it’s so tiny, but you can look at it another way.” Suhwan tilted his head slightly, and Hyeonjun got out of bed, went to a drawer, and took out an ultrasound image. “It’s confusing. I understand if it’s confusing for you; at 26, these things still seem like a complete mystery to me.” He held up the image for Suhwan to look at.
“It looks ugly. I don’t like it.”
“Well, Dongho won’t actually look like that. Let’s just say it’s like a sketch. But I know that when you see it, you’ll love it.”
“I still hate that you chose that name for him just because you wanted him to be called Mun-Do, like the League of Legends champion you just learned to play.”
“Hey! Dr. Mundo is a great League of Legends champion. What are you talking about? He has great skins!” he objected. “Besides, after all, you chose Suhwan's name, it was only fair that I chose Dongho's; we're even.”
“If you say so,” Hyeonjun placed a short kiss on Rannie's stomach and Suhwan awkwardly imitated his action, making Hyunjoon smile.
"Let's go, Suhwan, let's go outside with Sanghyeok to finish preparing dinner,” he picked up the child and helped him out of bed, and he ran out of the room.
"Is Sanghyeok hyung staying for dinner?" he asked, shifting in bed to sit up, and Hyeonjun sat beside him, placing a hand on his knee.
"I don't know, but I hope so. Maybe we should invite Wangho and do them a favor," he smiled slightly, placing his hand on his and stroking it. Then they both left the room and walked to the living room.
"Hyunjoon, how's everything going? It's been a while," Sanghyeok greeted, getting up from the sofa where he'd been playing with Suhwan and his stuffed animals.
"I spend most of my time lying down or in the bathroom. This baby doesn't seem to want to leave my esophagus and back alone anytime soon," he replied, placing a hand on his stomach as Hyeonjun went over to Suhwan.
"Only four more months, be patient."
“That’s what I really need, patience. And Hyeonjun isn’t very cooperative,” he said, looking at the aforementioned, who immediately turned away. He was playing with Suhwan’s stuffed animals on the couch.“But he’s a good father, I can’t complain about that,” Hyeonjun smiled slightly and blew a kiss as he went back to playing with the younger boy.
“Are you staying for dinner with us, Uncle Sanghyeok?” Suhwan asked, jumping on the sofa. “My uncles Minseok and Minhyung are coming.”
“Sorry, little monster, I can’t,” Suhwan pouted, and Sanghyeok sighed.
“Please” he asked, jumping a little while he clasped his hands together.
“Okay, I’ll stay,” Suhwan clapped excitedly and jumped off the couch to run to Sanghyeok, who picked him up.
After that, Sanghyeok and Hyunjoon were finishing up the dinner preparations while Hyeonjun took care of bathing Suhwan so that he could do it later.
"Don't I look bad?" Hyunjoon asked, looking at himself in the mirror before turning to Hyeonjun.
"That never worried you when you were pregnant with Suhwan. I even remember you loving it as it gradually became more noticeable."
"But this time it's different. My body has changed so much more. It looks... rounder."
"But you look beautiful... I like how you look," he lovingly kissed Hyunjoon's cheek as he stood behind him and placed both hands on his stomach. "So beautiful, Rannie."
The little squirrel smiled, looking down at his hands, and Hyeonjun gently stroked his stomach with his thumb.
Someone knocked on the door, and we left the room to answer it.
"Uncle Wangho!" Suhwan exclaimed, running towards the older, who immediately hugged him.
"Hello, Suhwanie," he greeted, tightening the hug around the kid. "How's the little monster?"
"Good," he replied, pulling away from the hug, and Wangho picked him up.
"I see it wasn't necessary to invite him," Hyeonjun said, looking at his couple. "It's like they're hopelessly connected to be together."
"Do-junie!" Wangho exclaimed as soon as he saw Hyunjoon and went over to greet him with a kiss on the cheek. "How's everything going with Mun-Do?" he asked, leaning in to gently rub Hyunjoon's belly.
"Worse every day, it's terrible."
"Maybe this will make you think twice next time before saying you want four kids," Sanghyeok chimed in, coming out of the kitchen.
Wangho looked at him with a radiant, shy smile, giving a very slight bow that was returned by the older, who also smiled back.
A couple of hours later, Minseok and Minhyung arrived at the Mun house. They were the only ones without a fixed family plan for Christmas, so 2hj always included them in Christmas dinners.
They were all gathered around the table to start eating while chatting about trivial things and silly topics.
"So, do you have an estimate of when Mun-Do will be born?" Wangho asked, and 2hj looked at each other.
"Well... We suppose maybe at the end of April."
"It's a nice time of year, let's just hope he doesn't surprise you like Suhwan did."
Suhwan was scheduled to be born at the end of December, or even the beginning of January; however, the birth came early, taking Hyunjoon and practically everyone who knew them by surprise, and thus, Suhwan arrived in the world on December 5th.
"Uncle Minseokkie, did you know that my daddy didn't eat my little brother?" Suhwan asked, sitting on Hyeonjun's lap.
“It’s very clear to us that he didn't do it,” he replied, making Minhyung almost choke on his water.
“Hey!” Hyunjoon called, banging his fist on the table. “Behave yourselves, both of you,” he said, pointing at them both, and they nodded.
“Yes, Mom Rannie,” Minhyung muttered, looking down to nudge Minseok with his elbow.
“Ah, Minseok and Minhyung, always so… nice,” Sanghyeok remarked, looking at them both, who smiled, pressing their lips together.
They were certainly a very peculiar family.

"Everything was beautiful, Do-junie," Wangho said as he left the house with Sanghyeok. The older had offered to drive him since he had a car and "it was too cold to walk or take the bus."
"Thank you, hyung," he replied respectfully, leaning against the doorframe.
"Maybe we'll come back tomorrow to bring some presents for Suhwan and this little one," he said, rubbing Rando's belly, and Rando nodded. "Take good care of yourself and him."
"I will, Wangho-hyung."
"Merry Christmas!" they both said goodbye, and Hyunjoon closed the door.
And as soon as it closed, Minseok started the show.
"God! Did you see how Sanghyeok hyung offered to drive Wangho hyung home? Something's going on there! They're so in love!" he said quickly, sitting on the couch next to Minhyung while they were holding hands.
"Don't you think talking about other people behind their backs is rude?"
"But you guys did the same thing to me and Minhyung before we started dating," he complained. "Don't think Hyeonjun didn't tell me what you were saying about us," he said, narrowing his eyes. "Minseok's such a simp, he's been so in love with Minhyung since high school it's nauseating."
"Technically he didn't lie, you have to accept it," Hyeonjun replied, and as soon as he did, Minseok's angry puppy-dog temper flared.
"We'd better go, it's getting late and we don't want to bother you," Minhyung said, standing up.
"You're not," Hyunjoon replied.
"No, but after dinner it's time for dessert, if you know what I mean," Minhyung replied.
"Dessert? Can I have some too, daddy Rannie?" Suhwan immediately chimed in.
“Not until you're twenty, at least, Suhwanie.”
“Ryu Minseok!”
Once the four of them were completely alone, Hyunjoon carefully sat down on the sofa, and Hyeonjun sat next to him with Suhwan.
“I’m exhausted.”
“You’re always exhausted, poop-ran,” Hyeonjun teased, something he was very good at doing.
“Carry a baby that will crush your bladder and add extra weight to your back and tell me how it feels.”
“Well, unfortunately for you, something like that is never going to happen.” Hyunjoon glared at him, and Hyeonjun shrugged. “Sorry, sweetheart, I regret to inform you that this was your choice.” He kissed the taller man’s forehead, and Suhwan snuggled between them. “Do you want to go to bed now, my little monster?” Hyeonjun asked as Suhwan hugged his father’s belly and nodded. "So, come upstairs, let's put your pajamas on so daddy can sing to you later," Hyeonjun said, getting up from the sofa to pick up Suhwan and carry him to the bedroom.
When they finished, Hyunjoon went straight to Suhwan's room, where he was already lying down, covered by his sheets.
"I'll wait for you in the room when you're done," Hyeonjun said, giving him a quick kiss on the lips before leaving Hyunjoon alone with Suhwan so he could sing to him a little.
"Even if I were born again, I would choose you.
You, you, you are the reason for my life.
So that you can be happy meeting me.
So you can lean and rest.
I promise my love..." he sang to Suhwan, just like every night, while Suhwan hugged the koala plushie Hyeonjun had given him for his second birthday.
"Daddy, do you really think I'm as beautiful as you?" he suddenly asked.
"You're even more than me and daddy Hyeonjun combined," he replied. “Much more than the moon,” Hyunjoon leaned in carefully to kiss Suhwan's forehead and then stood up from the chair next to his bed, placing one of his hands on his waist. "Sleep well, sweetheart, tomorrow will be a good day."
"Goodbye, daddy, goodbye, little brother," he murmured, snuggling under the covers. Hyunjoon smiled, then turned off the light and left the room, closing the door behind him.
He walked to the bedroom and found Hyeonjun sitting cross-legged on the bed surrounded by a pile of black bags.
"Now comes the best part of Christmas," he said, rubbing his hands together like a fly. Hyunjoon smiled.
"Can you at least let Suhwan sleep so I can put on my pajamas?" Hyeonjun nodded, and Hyunjoon went to the bathroom to pee and then get dressed.
When they finished, they looked at the clock. It was 12:30 a.m. It was time.
They carefully left the room and headed towards the colorful tree, adorned with ornaments and all the presents. Hyeonjun approached the plate of cookies beneath it and nibbled on one.
"What are you doing?" he whispered as he ate. "You're the worst Santa Claus in the world."
"Why? We have to leave evidence," he replied with his mouth full.
"Do you think Suhwan will notice that?"
"We have a very clever boy, he inherited something from me," he blew a small kiss to Hyunjoon, who returned it with a disgusted expression, like the ones he used to make all the time. "Your turn." Hyunjoon rolled his eyes and took a sip of milk.
"If I throw it up later, it's going to be your fault," he wiped the corner of his lips and placed the glass on the plate.
"Don't exaggerate, nothing's going to happen to you." They both took care of They finished placing all the presents under the tree.
"And last but not least," he said, placing the gaming PC with the label "For daddy Reno" under the tree. Hyunjoon smiled. "That bearded guy has good taste." Hyeonjun stood right next to Hyunjoon, looking at the tree full of presents, and then kissed the Rannie's forehead. "There. Suhwan, Dongho, you, and me. We're all set." The taller rested his head on Hyeonjun's and rubbed his belly a little.
"We are," he murmured happily, and they both went back to bed.
Waiting to hear Suhwan the next morning.
"Daddy! He came! He came!" they heard Suhwan shout, and they opened their eyes slightly as the little boy entered the room and climbed onto the bed, starting to jump. "Come on, he brought something for my little brother too," he said, approaching Hyeonjun and tugging on his arm, which made him complain.
"We're coming," he mumbled sleepily, rubbing his eye before sitting up in bed and blinking a few times. Suhwan jumped out of bed and ran back to the living room. "Come on, Do-junie," he said, getting out of bed and walking to Hyunjoon's side of the bed to help him up. They both left the room.
"Look!" Suhwan held out both hands so his parents could see the tree full of presents. "He ate the cookies and drank the milk!" Hyeonjun looked at him and raised both eyebrows with a smile.
"I told you so," he murmured close to Hyunjoon's ear and kissed his neck.
They opened every single present and then sat on the sofa watching Suhwan play with his toys.
"Merry Christmas, Rannie," Hyeonjun murmured, kissing Hyunjoon's cheek.
"Merry Christmas, darling," he smiled and kissed Hyeonjun's lips as he placed one of his hands on his belly.
In the Mun house, there was love and a small family... They needed absolutely nothing more.
