Work Text:

“Gaming, honey, could you give this to the new neighbours next door?” said his mother, who was a sweet-looking woman with short brown hair and a smug smile plastered on her face.

Gaming—who lazily lounged on the sofa, staring blankly on the ceiling, turned to his mother with curiosity, “We have new neighbours?” his eyes grew wide from excitement.

“They moved here from xxx since they figured it would be best to settle in somewhere more laid-back,” she said as she gently placed the newly baked pie that had a vibrant berry filling and some blueberries on top, filling the room with that sweet aroma that came from the pie itself. “And,” she continued.

“There was this boy who I'd think you would get along with.” she tied a little bow on the handle, making it more presentable. Gaming stood up, walking up to the kitchen counter, “A boy?” he said as his mother handed him the basket.

“You can go meet him yourself.” she said, after making sure the basket was neat and perfect. Gaming knew his mom was such a perfectionist, to the point that even a single grain of dirt was wiped off. But he was also quite eager to meet this "boy" she talked about.

And with that, he then walked to the door, and went outside as he closed the door from behind. He then proceeded to walk to the new neighbour's house, clutching on the handle as he wondered what these new faces would be like.

Right then, a thought crossed his mind. This boy.. What would he be like? Cold? Or worse, mean? Gaming thought about it— his smile tightened. Well, he wouldn't know for sure.

He arrived at the property, and soon walked to the door, stepping on the doormat that said “welcome” on it. And then, he pressed the doorbell, as he waited for someone to come open the door.

Gaming prepares his usual deamenor, grinning widely as he patiently stands there. Right then, he heard footsteps coming closer to the door— as the knob clicked open.

“Hi, I'm your new neighbour next door! We made this pie to welcome you guys.. to..” he struggled to make out the words he was supposed to say, his eyes softened.

A boy, with pale, freckled skin, and pail colored hair— he wore a large, navy blue hoodie that reached to his thighs, and shorts that got covered by the hoodie.

And boy,

Was he cute.

He stood in front of the latter, having the same expression on his face as they locked eyes. He swallowed the lump in his throat, feeling a little hot.

He cleared his throat, “Hehe.. I- we-welcome to the town!” he stammered, as he handed the basket to the boy.

He saw the boy hesitate, and the soft blush that was scattered on his face. “Uhm, thank.. you...” he said softly, as he reached to grab the basket, his voice is sweet as honey.

They went silent for a moment, like something had shifted. He felt weird, like butterflies filled his stomach. And with every second, his face grew more hot, making it more obvious for the other.

“I'm gaming, and you are?..” he broke the silence as he tilted his head, waiting for the others' response.

“Freminet...” he muttered, clenching on the handle of the basket.

Freminet...

“Pretty name..” for a second, he hadn't realized he said his thoughts out loud. But when the boy's eyes grew wide and blushed, warmth started to crawl up from his neck.

“Wait! I didn't mean to say that! I mean, you do have a nice name, but, you know!” he quickly said, flailing his hands up. But then, the boy—now namely freminet—tugged a small smile on his face, his eyes softening, still blushing from the comment.

Gaming felt his heartbeat pang in his chest, and unexpected feelings started to grow. “Well, I have to go, enjoy the pie!”, he then turned around and fled the scene.

He'd never felt anything like this before, especially from a mere stranger. But one thing's for sure,

He'd like to meet him once more..
