Chapter Text
The building swayed subtly in the wind. You were hired as a graphic designer for a company called “Sukuna Enterprise”. It was a well-known fairly new company that dominated the stock market for producing processing chips for AI integrated phones. As of lately though they chose to go the route of hiring graphic designers for their ads. It’s part of their job expansion initiative to maintain their public image. From what you’ve heard, the CEO is an ill-mannered man who often angers his shareholders but somehow earns their favor in the end. You’ve already heard stories despite it being your first day, some say he deliberately goes looking for employees slacking off to reprimand them. More so, he was a built man, the images you found online showed him with salmon pink hair and a few subtle face tattoos, piercings and muscles. A man you would never expect to be a CEO, he looked young as well, it made you think he must be a genius if he looked that way.
Your new co-worker was nice; her name was Tara. From what you could gather, she was going to be helpful in the future. Even now she was helping you get settled into your cubicle, you had a small bag of your desk essentials, one of them being a firefighter calendar (as a joke of course). It was the best item you could possibly own for breaking the ice at a new office. By the time you were done setting up your workspace, Tara had been waiting behind for the past five or so minutes.
“Come on y/n, lets go eat lunch”
Tara leads you out of the office and to the employee cafeteria which was a few floors below. You were relieved to know that the employees themselves of the company were much kinder than the CEO. You ordered the main item on the menu which was an unfortunately healthy wrap with a side of fruit.
Yeah, I think I’ll be bringing lunch from now on. Cheap ass.
Tara noticed your disappointment and chuckled.
“You’ll have to get used to it or start making your own lunches. Although us graphic designers don’t ever have much time to do much for ourselves, so you best get used to that lunch!” She gave a light reassuring pat on your shoulder before she started working on her own food, that being a home meal. It looked much better than the sad wrap.
Lunch was over, it was 40 minutes long from what you guessed. Now it was time to begin your first few tasks in this new job.
By the end of the day, you had met the creep of the floor, the overly talkative one, and the one who takes their job too seriously. Your cat greeted you at the front door with anxious, demanding meows. Probably asking where you’ve been all day You were not done with work yet, you still needed to finish a design for a small label on a product. The company’s colors were what reminded you of a villain’s evil lair. Dark greys, deep reds, black, and then the random pink. What was the CEO’s deal with pink?
Either way, you were tired, it was late and yet they made you take work home on your first day. You could already tell you were going to hate this job, but at least the pay was good and you actually got hired finally. By the time you finished the logo, it was already almost 1am. Safe to say, you fell asleep fairly quick after that. The next morning though, you woke up late. Horribly late.
Only my second day and I’m already screwing up
You hurried to your most unconventional form of transportation because your car was still in a shop being fixed after your last adventurous drive. Owning a Hayabusa as a person not so tall height was not for the weak. In reality you were 5’6, an ok height for such a bike The issue was, that is was top heavy, one fall and you might just be the next clown of the town trying to pick the bike back up. By the time you got to work it was already 9:55, almost a whole hour late to work. You had no time to fix your hair before you went inside, let alone take your helmet off while standing idly. So, as the busy bee you were, you began walking while quickly working on the helmet button and strap whilst unzipping your jacket. Approaching the building, you were finally pulling the helmet off, slightly stumbling but easily regaining your footing. The helmet was at the point your line of sight was covered, in that split second you seemed to have bumped something. Briefly saying sorry then continuing on, getting the helmet off and not looking back to see who you had bumped. What matters most is that I don’t get in trouble for being so late on my second day.
Finally, you made it to your floor, Tara was waiting for you pacing slightly.
pp.
“Y/n, do you even know what time it is?! We have a walk through soon by Mr. Sukuna!”
Your stomach drops as you realize your hair is still disheveled from the balaclava. You hurried to your cubicle and brushed out your hair, putting your helmet in its spot you cleared for it. The office was lively for the next few minutes until it wasn’t. It suddenly went quiet, reduced to nothing but whispers. You poked your head above the thin divider to look at the elevator and noticed the pink haired man you’ve seen on the screen of your phone before. He was stepping out of the elevator, his eyes scanning the room to catch anyone slacking off. Of course he saw your nosy ass staring at him. Fahhhh…
You quickly put your head back where it should belong, looking at your screen and working. A minute passed by and you didn’t notice anything. You were just being busy, yes, working away like a good new employee. A few minutes passed now, and that’s when you heard someone clear their throat behind you. That’s definitely NOT Tara
You turn around with a smile on your face.
“Yes? How can I-” Oh my god, it’s him
“Good morning sir! Is there something you need?”
You watch the CEO, a bit nervous now as his eyes dart around the setup of your work area. His gaze falling specifically on your helmet that sat in a corner under your desk. He raised an eyebrow at and chuckled to himself before looking at you again.
“What time did you come in to work today? Why is your work station not completely set up yet? Do you know of our late policy? Isn’t today only your second day”
Holy shit, this man was firing questions at you like there was no tomorrow, this is embarrassing
“I uh. Yes! I was working on uh…” You look behind you briefly to check your screen only to see that it timed out and were met with a faint reflection of you instead. When you look back at the CEO he has an impatient expression.
“Don’t be wasting my time next time I visit. And don’t be late” He gave a light tap to his head, his gaze on your helmet briefly then back to you before he turned around and walked away to another employee’s desk.
You turned to face your desk and let out a quiet sigh. I really did it this time
The morning passed by and it was lunch once more. You sat down next to Tara with a sigh.
She looked at you with a pitying expression, “Well that was a rough morning for you huh.”
“I know”
“He might pick on you from now on”
“Is that even allowed?!” You had concern written all over your face.
“It’s happened before. If you complain to HR, they might even suggest you resign as a solution.”
“This is so stupid! He’s stupid! Who the hell finds joy in doing these things?!” The employee cafeteria was oddly quiet when you said that. Tara went quiet as well and had a Shut up right now! look on her face. Now you were nervous. This cannot be happening for a second time today right? Right?
