Chapter Text
Rain splattered against the sidewalk and fell heavy onto Danny as the boy fled. Thunder clapping above him startling him out of his stupor and push him into flying faster and farther
Faster
Farther
FASTER
FARTHER
he couldn’t stop for even a moment. if he did, Danny was sure they’d catch him, drag him back to the lab-
Strap him back to the table
He pushed faster and farther into the midnight sky. Sam would enjoy this weather. She’d prattle on about her music or a new book she’d found and push him out into the rain to walk with her.
Just before he’d been caught him she was ranting about a book she’d found about the many world of edger Allen Poe, she promised she’d force him to read lend him it when she was done so they could talk scout something new.
He wished he’d gone with her to read the book, they wouldn’t have caught him then
Oh so many regrets ran through his head. He wished he’d spent more time with Jazz, played more DOOMED with tucker, traveled with Ellie, read the book with Sam.
He didn’t even know where he was. It felt like he’d been flying for days, and maybe he had. He was just tired.
He wished he could go lay down in his own bed
The night had been perfect. Jazz was out touring colleges and his parents were out of the lab for once. They even cooked dinner-spaghetti night-he couldn’t even remember the last time they’d had a family dinner; even if it felt odd without jazz.
Danny could barely choke down a bit before coughing and literally choking.
Blood blossoms
The taste was unmistakable, where did his parents even get blood blossoms?
The rest of the night was a blur of action and inaction. His head swam trying to remember
He was in the lab, strapped down, his mom had the scalpel, his dad had his hands on him like he was a lab rat.
“Possessing our son under our noses for months… fix him… lay him to rest… our Danno”
The next thing he could remember was running, feet pounding heavy on the ground before he switched to flying
He’d shot the tires of the GAV almost immediately, there was no way that his parents could be following him, but he was scared.
Faster
Farther
Danny knew he couldn’t keep flying much longer, it was raining harder and harder, his wound was still bleeding-though his heeling factor was working overtime trying to close the large Y shape incisions-seeping into his hazmat suit. His bag felt so heavy even if it was only a messenger bag, it felt like weights dug into shoulders
He crashed, skidding into the dirt and mud. His form faded quick, back into Fenton.
“Not our son anymore!”
back into Fenton Danny, into human form.
As he stumbled to his feet it looked like he’d crashed into an old water mill…well what used to be an old water mill.
Move, they’ll catch you if you stay still
Danny pushed himself forwards along an old trail. The first looked decrepit, broken branches and holes in the trail, it looked like a monster was barging through the woods.
Danny would have believe it to, he could feel his ghost sense pushing cold air out his lungs in blue puffs.
After what felt like hours he saw a huge building peeking over the horizon
What was the Undervale Hotel?
