Come Back to Bed Mr.Edgeworth

Work Text:

Beep, Beep, Beep

The sun had just started to shine through the closed curtains, blinding Miles as his eyes fluttered open. His head was tucked into his husband’s neck, who was snoring away, blissfully unaware of the day that was to come.

Phoenix was drooling, and his hair was a bird’s nest of un-brushed spikes and slightly damp hair from the night before. Miles started to shuffle out of his husband’s grip over his waist, trying not to wake him up as he sat up on the side of the bed.

Phoenix grumbled and rolled over, stealing the blanket as he went. Phoenix had always hated it when the temperature got colder, constantly wearing that ratty, dingy sweatshirt.

Miles was just about to get out of bed when a strong arm twisted around his waist.

“Wright. Let go.” Miles scoffed.

“ What are you even doing up? You take our fucking car… If you floor it, you could probably get there in, um, 20, no 15,... 30 minutes?” droned Phoniex in the background as Miles finally freed himself from his husband’s grasp.

“Shouldn’t you be the one getting up this early? You walk to the courthouse, don’t you?” asked Miles while he stood up.

Phoenix whined once again and curled up closer to the edge of the bed, his nose smooshed into Mile’s own pillow.

Suddenly, Phoenix shot up, big brown puppy eyes shining deep into Mile’s own. Phoenix looked disheveled, to say the least, with a stained undershirt and cheap gym shorts that he had bought at least six years ago. He looked absolutely, absolutely, absolutely

stunning.

It honestly took everything he had not to get right back in the bed and mash his face into his husband’s chest and just sleep for the rest of the day.

“Phoenix, either get out of bed, or I will leave you here for the next 2 hours,” Miles announced, staring down the man in his bed, watching him groan and roll out of bed before perking up once more.

“Alright, my darling, sickly Victorian child of a husband, will thou please give me the honor of taking a shower with you?” Phoenix asked while bombarding Miles with pecks all around his face, smiling deeper as his husband's face shifted into one of complete and utter confusion.

“Sickly Victori-..? Wright, what in the name of Japanifornia are you talking about?” Miles questioned, feeling his face beginning to flush once more at the sight of his husband snickering at him.

“Well, aren’t you? You lil baby,” cooed Phoniex, his arms snaking up his husband’s torso, wrapping his hands around Miles’ neck.

“Shut u-, Bzzt Bzzzt! Bzzt Bzzzt!

A phone was ringing on the nightstand, but whose phone it was wasn’t clear at all, as the rays of sunlight blinded Phoniex as he picked it up, swiping up as he locked eyes with Miles.

Mr. Edgeworth? Are you there?” questioned a voice on the other end of the phone.

“Apollo, it's me,” laughed Phoenix, shifting the phone to his other hand so he could try, and fail, to drag Miles back to bed.

“Great.. So basically, um, basically, could you like stop, ‘old men flirting’? I mean, that's how Trucy put it, I guess. She called me, asking me to tell you to stop doing that. Yeah. So great, see you bye, No questions, ok?” Apollo sped up towards the end, trying to get out of the call as soon as possible, as if he could see Miles’ horrified face and his boss’ barely stifled laugh.

“Yeah, sure, Apollo. I’ll see you later.” Phoenix smiled, letting his husband pull him out of their bedroom, listening to his husband mutter under his breath about crazy magician daughters.
