"You're fuckin' crazy," Miles muttered, staring Hunter down. The hurt in his eyes shattered Hunter's heart more. He'd risked it all for this man, and Miles was throwing it back in his face. It hurt like a bitch, but it hurt more knowing that Miles was also hurt.
"Yeah. I'm fucking crazy," Hunter agreed, trying to ignore the crack in his voice, "I told her to draft an announcement to go public with our relationship." It felt wrong telling Miles this way, but he was backed into a corner. Miles had either misunderstood Hunter's intentions, or no longer loved him. Maybe he never did. The thought made him sick, but he forced himself to continue, "I fell for you, Miles. Isn't that what you wanted? Or are you having regrets?" God, he hoped Miles wasn't having regrets. But what other explanation was there for his sudden behavior?
After Miles' panic attack in the warehouse closet, he had swore they had finally made a real breakthrough and were finally on the same page. But then he pulled away after asking that stupid hypothetical question and Noah — oh, Noah was getting fired for sure for trying to make a move on Hunter's man. He didn't understand what happened…
Hunter mentally shook himself and stared down at Miles, who was staring back with wide eyes rimmed with tears. It felt like an eternity as he waited for Miles to say or do something, anything, to prove that he wasn't having regrets. Hunter didn't think he would survive the heart break if Miles walked out now. His heart was bared to the man standing before him, his love.
His love.
His.
Another moment, another beat, another piece of Hunter's heart breaking, passed in silence between them before Miles moved. The brush of the shorter man's fingers against the side of Hunter's head and then his lips on Hunter's, and Hunter's world stopped.
It wasn't the accidental kisses they shared in the coffee house, or the panicked kisses in the closet. It was … soft. Hungry. Miles' lips on his felt like caramel drizzled over chocolate. Sweet and smooth and addictive.
Hunter's hands found their way to Miles' face, cupping his cheeks gently as his eyes closed, savoring the kiss for a moment before Miles' tugged on his jacket and deepened the kiss.
Desperation overtook him. He had never felt like this before. Too hot but not nearly hot enough. The room was too big, the air too cool, their clothes too … on.
He started to push Miles' sports coat off his shoulders as Miles did the same for his suit jacket. The coats forgotten on the floor, Hunter pushed Miles back towards the bed, never breaking their kiss until Miles fell backwards. Hunter followed, hovering over Miles and straddling his waist.
God, he was so hard. The things Miles did to him… the things he wanted to do to Miles.
"Weren't you worried I couldn't perform?" Hunter smirked, pulling back just enough to look down at Miles. "I'll prove you wrong right now."
Please don't say no, please don't say no…
The feel of Miles under him, his hands on Hunter's neck, and that look of pure trust in his eyes… Hunter wanted to make him scream so loud he wouldn't have a voice for weeks. He wanted to ruin this man for anyone else ever again. Miles was his and his alone.
"Hunter…" Miles breathed, staring at Hunter above him like he hung the moon. "I've never been with a guy before…"
His confession didn't surprise Hunter, as the man had spent the last two weeks proclaiming at every turn that he wasn't gay. But then again, so had Hunter. So he shook his head, as it didn't matter to him. They would wade these waters together.
"Me neither," Hunter admitted, unashamed. All he wanted right then was Miles. The rest was trivial, secondary problems for another day. Right then, that moment, the only thing that mattered was them.
Pulling Miles up, Hunter started unbuttoning his shirt, his heart hammering in his chest at the realization that this was going to happen. He was finally in bed with his man.
"So we're even?" He heard himself ask, and Miles responded in kind before he could think too much on how silly he sounded. Miles was watching him like he was preforming a miracle, rather than simply stripping out of his shirt, and it amused Hunter. He'd had women chasing him since he hit puberty, but none at looked at him the way Miles did. With pure adoration, lust, and a touch of fear… He hoped that fear wouldn't ruin the moment. He would never hurt Miles. He had to know that, right?
As soon as their shirts were gone and discarded to the floor, Hunter pushed Miles back onto the bed, kissing down his neck. He'd mark his man up. Make sure the entire world knew that Miles Bennett was his. And only his. He heard Miles's breath hitch felt his hand at the back of Hunter's neck, and heard the soft "yeah…" that he was sure Miles didn't realize he had said.
This man was going to be the death of Hunter… and Hunter welcomed it.
"Hunter…"
Hunter pulled away from devouring Miles's neck to look down at him again, giving his man his full attention.
"You're the president of Everett Industries…" Miles said, as if Hunter didn't know that already. Where was he going with this? "I'm just an intern. You deserve more than that."
More? What more was there? Miles was everything to Hunter.
Hunter shook his head, not willing to let Miles' train of thought continue. "No." he breathed. "I like you, Miles," there he was, baring his heart to this beautiful man again, "I've never liked anyone like I like you," he leaned down then, kissing Miles' neck and down to his shoulder, needing to taste him, to be closer to him, to —
"Hunter… are you sure you're ready?" Miles asked, as if he couldn't feel Hunter's erection pressing against his hip. God, Hunter was so hard he thought he might pass out.
Looking back up at Miles again, he abandoned kissing his way down Miles' chest to smile. "Yes." he breathed, confident in his decision. "What's down there…?" He asked, teasingly as he slid his hand down to gently brush over Miles' own erection and smirked more at Miles' gasp. He was so responsive… fuck, Hunter was in heaven. There was no way all those homophobic pastors were right and gays went to hell, when this felt like pure euphoria.
He stood up to drop his pants, tired of waiting and talking and stalling. He needed to feel Miles against him. He needed to make him his.
"I guess those ED rumors don't hold up," He smirked again, pushing Miles back into a laying position again, "Do they?" Miles' smile was quickly stitching his broken heart back together like a magnet. "Miles… If I told you I liked you… would you believe me?" He asked, praying the man would. He needed him to believe him.
Miles didn't respond at first, though, instead he leaned up to pull Hunter into another kiss, which Hunter gladly accepted. Kissing Miles was like a religious experience. He wanted to drown in the scent, taste, and feel of Miles' lips on his. But Miles pulled back, closed his eyes, and tilted his head to the side to give Hunter access to kiss down his neck again. And Hunter happily took the opportunity. Soon the whole world would know that Miles and he were together, and he could show his beautiful, intelligent, and kind boyfriend off like the treasure that he was.
"Yes…" he barely registered the words Miles was breathing as he worked his way down the brunette's neck, shoulder, and chest, "I believe you…"
