He looks both ways again and neither of the roads look familiar to him at all.

Mingyu turns around to face the coffee shop to try and reorient himself and only draws a blank. There's a growing clarity in his mind that he actually has no idea how to get back to Wonwoo's apartment building.

Work Text:

Mingyu is on cloud nine.

There's a spring to his step and he's wearing last night's clothes like a badge of honor. He hums to himself as he checks Naver Maps again for the direction of the coffee shop he found while laying in bed earlier, waiting for the sun to come up. It's only a few streets away and the pastries looked like the perfect pick me up from a night of some of the best sex he's ever had.

Last night was…incredible.

He had been invited to Jihoon's listening party for the producer album he'd finally been able to put out. Mingyu has long since given up dreams of becoming an idol to pursue his other dream to work in design and architecture but he still keeps up with some of the friends he'd made in his brief stint as a trainee. Now some of them are big time producers like Jihoon and Mingyu is always, always willing to show up for his friends to celebrate their wins.

So last night, Mingyu had dutifully headed to a bar in Gangnam that had been closed for the event expecting to catch up with friends, have some delicious alcohol and, as expected of Jihoon, listen to some fantastic music.

He'd been right for the most part. His friends had already commandeered a table for themselves but with the majority of them also working in the entertainment industry in one form or another, the table served more as a homebase for them as they spent the evening casually networking before circling back to the table to take a breather.

Mingyu had arrived when the listening party was already in full swing so it's only Jun and Minghao at the table. It was a pleasant surprise to see them both considering just last week they were in Beijing and Shanghai respectively. He'd greeted them with enthusiasm and they immediately got him up to speed on what's been going on with them (Jun was up for another action movie and Minghao's exhibit would soon be shown in London). Mingyu congratulates them both with bear hugs and a round of drinks. His friends are all amazing.

The night had been going as expected until Soonyoung had come back to their table along with the most devastatingly handsome stranger in tow. Mingyu had been stunned silent at the sight of him.

Soonyoung introduced the stranger as Jeon Wonwoo, a friend of his and Jihoon's. He was, as Mingyu would come to learn, an IP lawyer and a hobby photographer. Mingyu had perked up at that and proceeded to ask Wonwoo where he liked to take photos.

Now, Mingyu tries to be a really good friend. Whenever he's invited to album listening parties, he does his best to listen to all the tracks and tell Jihoon what he liked best but Mingyu had been so distracted by his conversation with Wonwoo that he couldn't begin to say what any of the songs had sounded like. He'll have to beg Jihoon for another listening session to make up for it but there had been more important matters at hand, like getting to know Jeon Wonwoo.

One thing had led to another and Wonwoo had invited Mingyu over to "look at his camera collection" to which Mingyu had eagerly agreed.

The conversation between them hadn't lulled even throughout the cab ride back to Wonwoo's place. Mingyu hadn't thought he was imagining the spark between them and he had briefly wondred when they'd get to kissing but he hadn't been too bothered about it. He'd been enjoying the conversation anyway and they could get to kissing later.

Wonwoo's cameras were neatly displayed in the living room. There's a range from digital to analog that Mingyu had almost forgotten he wanted to get in Wonwoo's pants in favor of going through the entire collection.

"I thought showing me your camera collection was a euphemism but I'm kind of glad it wasn't," Mingyu had admitted while Wonwoo was showing him his Rolleicord. It was a a large hunk of a camera and Mingyu really wanted to try shooting with.

Wonwoo had flushed a pretty pink. "I was kind of hoping I'd seduce you into bed with my nice camera collection but we don't have to do that if you'd really just rather see the cameras?"

Then it had been Mingyu's turn to blush because Wonwoo had no right to be this cute and sexy. "Can we do both?"

Wonwoo had blinked at him once, twice and then smiled. "Yeah, we can do both."

After Wonwoo had walked him through his collection, he'd taken Mingyu's hand and pulled Mingyu toward his bedroom, with one of the smaller cameras in his other hand. In the bedroom, Wonwoo had proceeded to give Mingyu a kiss that sent heat throughout his entire body.

"Can I fuck you, Mingyu?" Wonwoo had asked him then, mouth right by Mingyu's ear, voice low and sexy and irresistible.

"Yes, hyung," Mingyu replied, helpless to resist.

"Can I photograph you while I do that?" Wonwoo had asked him. "I have my own dark room and I swear you can keep the negatives," Wonwoo added, reassuring him.

How could Mingyu not kiss him for that?

"Yes," Mingyu breathed out, after pulling away. "I want photos of you too. Of you and me."

Now, in the morning after, Mingyu blushes as he remembers how gentle yet thorough Wonwoo had been with him, getting him through three orgasms. He hasn't slept with anyone who was so enthusiastic about getting his face sat on as Wonwooo. He tugs his shirt a little lower as he feels heat pool in his groin again just at the thought of how debauched Wonwoo had made him feel.

He bounces on the balls of his feet as the person in front of him steps away from the counter. He's eager to get back to Wonwoo's place to develop the photos they took too.

Mingyu approaches the counter and orders two iced Americanos plus a box of assorted pastries. He hadn't wanted to wake Wonwoo up to get his coffee order but an iced Americano is probably a safe bet and having a mix of sweet and savory is the way to go too. Mingyu just really wants to surprise Wonwoo this morning. He'll have more time to figure out what Wonwoo likes in the future. Hopefully.

He takes a sip of his coffee as he steps outside, ready to head back to Wonwoo's apartment. The coffee is cold in his mouth and a great pick me up to this already beautiful day. He looks to the left side of the road and the right side of the road and stops in his tracks.

He looks both ways again and neither of the roads look familiar to him at all.

Mingyu turns around to face the coffee shop to try and reorient himself and only draws a blank. There's a growing clarity in his mind that he actually has no idea how to get back to Wonwoo's apartment building.

One look at his phone tells him that while he was smart enough to look for a cafe nearby, his hubris meant he didn't bother using the Navigation page on the maps app.

Shit.

It's fine. He'll pick one direction and go from there and surely, things will start to look familiar the closer he gets to Wonwoo's apartment.

Mingyu turns right from the cafe and starts walking. Without the rose tinted glasses of being well fucked, he's starting to realize he hadn't paid any attention to where he was coming from or how to get back. Even as he peers at each store front carefully, he doesn't remember passing by them. He makes a left at one intersection and sees a row of apartment blocks. They all look almost identical and Mingyu knows that he's never going to find Wonwoo's apartment like this.

He can't even call Wonwoo up because they'd been too busy giving each other pleasure to exchange numbers yet.

Mingyu wants to tug at his hair in frustration and can't even do that with his hands full of coffee and pastries. Wonwoo could wake up any minute now and find the apartment empty with no explanation. He's going to think Mingyu's some wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am fuckboy.

The very thought of Wonwoo thinking the worst of him makes Mingyu curl up into himself. He'd really liked Wonwoo and he doesn't want things to end just because he was a fool about directions. He finds a corner where he can rest the box of pastries and coffee on, digs his phone out of his pocket and contemplates his options.

He could call Soonyoung now and possibly be teased for all of eternity for a chance to clear the air or he could accept this as a sign and just accept that last night had been a one night stand and he would have to live with Wonwoo, who he might never see again, thinking he's an asshole.

In the end, it's the thought of Wonwoo thinking badly of him that makes him decide any embarrassment is worth it even just to clear any misunderstandings. He calls Soonyoung.

When the call finally connects, it's Jihoon at the other end of the line.

"Mingyu?" Jihoon's voice sounds raspy and slurred, like he'd just woken up.

Mingyu pulls the phone away from his ear so he can check the screen to make sure he's called the right number. Soonyoung's name flashes bright on the screen in front of him. Huh.

So maybe he won't be teased for the rest of his life if he has this to hold over Soonyoung.

"Jihoon-hyung? Are you with Soonyoung-hyung?"

Mingyu can hear the rustle of fabric on the other end of the line. "He's still asleep, Gyu-yah."

"And you're sleeping next to him?" Mingyu asks innocently. He hasn't forgotten why he called but if he gets the scoop on the Soonyoung-Jihoon saga right now, he's going to have to call Seungkwan as soon as his own crisis is over.

"Gyu, why did you call?" Jihoon now sounds a little disgruntled but Mingyu knows that it means he's right about where Jihoon is right now. Sunday brunch with everyone is going to be so much fun.

"I needed to ask Soonyoung-hyung for Wonwoo's number," Mingyu tells Jihoon.

"Wonwoo? Jeon Wonwoo?" Jihoon sounds confused.

"We slept together last night," Mingyu confesses, shyly. "I wanted to surprise him with coffee and pastries but I don't know my way back to his apartment."

"You didn't get his number?" The incredulity in Jihoon's voice almost feels like a physical presence.

"I was distracted, hyung!" Mingyu protests with a pout. He's about to defend himself but he can't help but sigh dreamily as he remembers what transpired last night, reveling in the small aches in his body reminding him of the pleasure he'd been given. He can't help the way his voice softens and he tells Jihoon like it's a secret that: "Wonwoo took really good care of me."

Mingyu isn't often on the receiving end of things. People make certain assumptions about his preferences and that's fine. He loves taking care of people and making them feel good. He likes it the most though when he can give up all control.

Wonwoo had let him have that.

There's a momentary pause before Jihoon speaks again. "I'll send you his Katalk ID, Gyu." His voice is much gentler this time around. The tone makes Mingyu squirm. He knows that Jihoon has always had a soft spot for him but it always makes him shy whenever Jihoon shows that side so unabashedly.

"Thank you, hyung," Mingyu answers. Then, because he also has an equally soft spot for Jihoon, he asks: "Did you and Soonyoung-hyung figure it out?"

"Yeah," Jihoon says. Mingyu can hear the smile in his voice. "We did."

"I'm glad, hyung."

"Go get your boy, Mingyu," Jihoon grumbles, faux annoyed and reaching his limit of overt tenderness.

Mingyu giggles in response. "Will do, hyung!"

They end the call and Mingyu's phone pings almost immediately with Wonwoo's KakaoID from Jihoon. Mingyu opens up a chat with Wonwoo.

Me: Wonwoo-hyung, it's Mingyu! I am calling!!

He doesn't wait for the 1 to disappear from the chat before calling. It takes a few rings before Wonwoo picks up the phone.

"Hello?" Wonwoo's voice is soft on the phone, low and sweet and music to Mingyu's ears. He doesn't sound like he just woke up and Mingyu can't spare another moment to clear the air.

"Wonwoo-hyung! I didn't leave you!"

"Mingyu?"

"Well, I did leave!" Mingyu continues in a rush. "I meant to come back but I got lost? From the bakery? I don't know your addresses so I got your number from Jihoonie-hyung. I didn't want you to think I was an asshole."

"Oh," Wonwoo says. Mingyu wishes he could see his face right now. He sounds sad and that's the last thing Mingyu wants to happen. He has a really good feeling about Wonwoo. "You're coming back?"

"If you'll have me," Mingyu promises, gripping his phone tightly, tense with anticipation.

"I'll send you my address."

*

Mingyu sprints as delicately as he can while holding on to two cups of iced coffee (freshly ordered upon realizing he'd been going the opposite direction and the cafe was on his way again) and a box of pastries.

He barely stops himself from taking the stairs, impatiently waiting for the elevator doors to open and get him up to the 17th floor.

Wonwoo's already waiting for him by the doorway. His hair is messy and he's in an oversized shirt and jorts. In the daylight, he's just as handsome as Mingyu remembers him and Mingyu can't help but launch himself into Wonwoo's space.

Wonwoo catches him with a soft 'oof,' arms coming around Mingyu's waist to keep him steady.

"I came back," Mingyu says, taking a step back. "I got a little lost but I'm here."

Wonwoo keeps him close by looping his fingers in Mingyu's belt loops. "You came back," he repeats with a chuckle, smiling that same charming smile that made Mingyu melt last night.

"I brought coffee and breakfast!" Mingyu says and offers one of the Americanos to Wonwoo, who takes it before ushering Mingyu back inside. "I wasn't sure how you liked your coffee but I thought an ah-ah would be okay."

"You're so cute," Wonwoo tells him, leaning forward to kiss him. "Thank you for the coffee."

"I should be thanking you," Mingyu says. "This a thank you for a really good time last night coffee and breakfast."

Wonwoo considers this as he sips his coffee. He sidles up closer to Mingyu, tugging him close by the belt loop. "So if we have a really good time again this morning, can I take you to a thank you lunch?"

Mingyu lights up at that.

"That sounds like a plan," Mingyu responds. "And then thank you dinner?" Mingyu suggests, wrapping his arms around Wonwoo's shoulders and grinding their hips together.

"I'm sure something this afternoon could make me very grateful," Wonwoo replies with a grin.

"We better get to it then," Mingyu says, closing the distance with a kiss.
