Work Text:
At that moment, the weather could be considered the most beautiful of the year. It had just enough gentle breezes, and just enough of the soft warmth of the past summer. Autumn had just arrived, but Grass Wonder didn't know how to feel about it.
She didn't care about the weather at all. Although it was more comfortable, the feeling of exhaustion from training would always linger somewhere in her mind, and no matter how many times the autumn wind came, it couldn't simply blow it away.
She was just lying peacefully on the training ground. She didn't care how dirty this place was because she had already fallen here so many times. She just lay there, gazing at the clear sky after the rain and the cool autumn weather.
And so, time gently passed, and the chestnut-haired maiden remained lying in the field without saying another word. She just lay there, enjoying this brief moment, ignoring the passersby who began to stare at her.
She didn't care about their scrutinizing eyes; she only wanted to achieve what she longed for. For now, all she needed was to be here in peace.
Just when Grass Wonder thought she could lie here quietly, a familiar figure caught her eye in the distance. She didn't have to look for long to know who it was.
And perhaps that person understood she was looking at them, so they just took small steps, moving closer to her.
When she saw the expression on that person's face, she just looked at them and smiled softly, and at the same time, gently patted the spot beside her.
El also understood what that meant and walked lightly to her side, then lowered herself to the grass.
The two of them lay there, not saying anything. El was always very energetic, but perhaps the new atmosphere of early autumn had stripped her of her usual energy and made her one with the cool breezes, or maybe she just wanted to look at Grass Wonder.
She just lay there, gazing at the muse of her life, the one who had etched so many new memories into her.
Grass Wonder was still lying beside her, looking up at the blue sky. She was so absorbed in watching it that she didn't notice the person next to her.
El seized the opportunity to lean closer to her face and then slowly placed a gentle kiss on her lips.
Grass Wonder had not anticipated this at all, but she did nothing and just let the kiss continue.
It wasn't a deep kiss, just a short one, enough for both of them to feel it.
While Grass was still trying to regain her composure, the person next to her had already stood up.
As she wondered why El had stood up, the person in front of her gently extended a hand toward her.
She understood what it meant and took the hand.
"Why don't we walk around instead of staying here for another second? Sometimes, a little exercise is good. Does that sound okay, my muse?"
El was still the same; just a few minutes ago she was peacefully lying on the grass, but now she wanted to run—a pure desire of horse girls that Grass also understood.
They were born to run, and given the chance, they would always run, for that was their destiny.
The chestnut-haired girl just smiled softly and shook her head at her companion. She simply let the person she had chosen to sow her life into lead her to wherever the two of them could set foot on.
