Work Text:
It was amazing how doing the same thing over and over could be so exhausting.
Even Kira had to admit that routine had its downsides. It was close to the end of the quarter so work had been even more grueling than he would like. Attempting to maintain an average performance was becoming a challenge in itself.
Perhaps a vacation was in order after he was finished. Not so much for him, but for you. After all, waiting at home for him to arrive for all this time must be among the more dull parts of your day. You were a good lover, perhaps even too good for him.
When he arrived home after the last day of the quarter, he said his greetings, albeit his voice almost in a slur. Not even that nap on the train home was any help. He loosened his tie as he walked into the living room. The bedroom seemed too far at this point. While not the most ideal, just letting his briefcase fall to the floor before allowing himself to sprawl face down on the couch was a reward in itself. Faintly, he heard your voice welcoming him home.
However, for as tired as he was, he couldn't find it in himself to fall asleep immediately. Keeping his eyes shut, he heard you giggle and then your comment of "Oh, how precious~" He would have stated a rebuttal before he felt you gently lift his head. Suddenly, the right side of his face was pressed against a surface far more soft than the couch.
"Long day, huh?"
Your voice was everything he needed to hear at this time. You were everything he needed at this time. Someone who understood him for who he was all throughout with just a mere glance.
A content sigh quietly passed through his lips when he felt your hand gently stroke his head. Between your gentle touch and the comfort of your lap, he couldn't help but think that this was paradise in itself as he was slowly lulled into the peace that you offered.
