𝑰𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒔𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒔
𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆

They never thought they would see the day they won a war, and here they are, celebrating. While they don't really enjoy the festivities, as the guilty feeling after Scarif still haunts them, they try to deal with it over time. But what now? What should they do after the end of all this? Cassian and Jyn are seated next to each other, watching Leia debate silly things with Han, Bodhi, and Luke playing drinking games, others are singing, dancing, and drinking as if there will be no tomorrow.
"Do you have a plan after this?" Cassian shares his second bottle with her. "After this war."
A long silence between them because Jyn hesitates to give a response. It's not like she doesn't think about it, she does all the time because force she is exhausted running from one place to another and worrying for people she cares about. Not people, just a person, a man who is currently sitting next to her.
"I have." he chose to spit it out first. "Whenever I see Kes and Shara talking about Poe, I am wondering if we ever could have that."
Jyn stiffs and goes back to look at Cassian trying to hide her surprise. He looks so calm and relaxed, a rare sight that she’s willing to see forever.
"That is strange, right? We don't really know about normal families, as we had dysfunctional childhoods."
"We?" cut Jyn, she starts playing with her necklace and he knows she is nervous. Cassian gently takes her fingers and gives her a straight, confident look "Yes." a pause moment before he continues, “whenever when both of us are ready.”
Maybe this is the right time for them to talk about the future, because all this time they have been together, they always thought about how to live just to survive after Scarif. Starting from tonight they have a chance to live happily without feeling any guilt. They are now allowed to move on, right?
Jyn stares into her favourite eye colour. He complained that her eyes are distracting but what he doesn’t know is that he also has the same effect on her. “What were you thinking about us, Jyn?”
“Just domestic things that we always do here with more privacy and less seeing of Kay or Bodhi.”
Cassian chuckled, ”At least with Bodhi is doable.” pointing him with directing to a man that is currently having the best time of his life.
Jyn rolls her eyes. “We can start now, if you want to,” choosing to return to their topic.
She closes in to his face and starts whispering before reaching his lips softly and says, “Because I do.”
