Mirage

Summary:

On the eve of Hyrule's founding, its newly wedded king and queen take to their marriage bed.

Notes:

I finished this months ago and I don't know why I didn't post it then??

Work Text:

The feasting on the eve of Hyrule’s founding is glorious. No expense is spared: the temple cooks prepare the finest venison, the rarest fish, gourmet rock roast imported from Eldin (whatever, precisely, gourmet entails). The wine flows freely, and with it, conversation and friendship. All are alight with possibility and joy: Hylian and Rito and Goron and Zora, united for the first time in so long.

Sonia and Rauru preside over all of this, newly wedded, their hands clasped whenever they are not eating. At her throat, Sonia feels the weight of the secret stone Rauru gifted her, warm and glowing and more powerful than she can grasp. It is a relief, when the feasting winds down and she and Rauru retreat to their own chambers, to remove the necklace from which the stone hangs and store it away. She will have to get used to that.

She sits in a stool to allow her handmaiden to wash the day’s ritual paint from her body. Rauru, too, is being attended, his manservant brushing out the long, wild mass of his white-gold hair. For a little while, Sonia only watches him. Then, as Topha gently lifts Sonia’s hand and wipes a damp cloth over her fingers, Sonia says, “Did you see that Zora captain?”

Rauru’s ears twitch before his eyes open, which is telling. He looks at her sidelong. “Which?” he asks innocently.

“Well, both of them, honestly,” Sonia admits, teasing. “Though I am thinking of the one with crimson scales. The taller one. You noticed that he was taller than you, I think.”

Rauru blinks. “I noticed that?”

“You certainly did. I saw it happen. I saw your eyes following him as he sat down.”

Again, Rauru’s ears twitch. His manservant continues with implacable patience to brush his hair.

“I do not blame you,” Sonia clarifies, smiling. “He was quite an impressive figure. He must be twice as tall as Ruta. And such noble eyes…” She stretches out her right arm so that Topha may wash her shoulder. “Do you think Ruta would let us borrow him?”

There is a pregnant pause. “Do you mean for an army of our own?” Rauru asks.

“I very much do not, Rauru,” Sonia answers, her smile growing.

The Zora captain had made such an impressive figure as he entered the great hall, scales and silver jewelry gleaming in the torchlight. He was broad and sleek at once, in that beautiful way that Zora are, in the way that Rauru is as well. Sonia has always loved the shape of them. She had noted his attractiveness as an objective fact and would have moved on from there, except that she noticed Rauru’s eyes following him, too, intrigue in their depths.

“It would be irregular,” she grants, “given that we have just been married, but if we approached him together, at least he could rest assured that nothing untoward was happening. And perhaps he would be flattered. You and I are king and queen now, after all.”

Rauru’s hand comes unthinkingly to his chin. “That would not guarantee his interest,” he says, but the slightly unfocused look in his eyes suggests that he is willing to play along with at least the thought of what Sonia proposes.

“Suppose he were interested, though,” Sonia coaxes, imagining it herself. Topha patiently begins to wash her other arm. “What do you think those shining scales feel like against skin? How sensitive are his fins, his gills?”

The captain seated in Rauru’s lap and Sonia leaning in, tracing the fingertips of both hands up the slits along the Zora’s ribcage… Sonia wonders how he would move, how he would gasp, if she did that. Or perhaps he is sensitive in entirely different places. She remembers the first time she touched the hollow behind Rauru’s ear and watched a full-body shiver go through him, and oh, how she had wanted to know more about the differences between her body and his. She always wants to know more.

“Do you know,” she says, conspiratorial now, “that Zora are said to have two male organs? That rumor has not left my mind since I first heard it. I think that you and I, together, could find some quite creative ways for the captain to use his endowments.”

Rauru has been holding her gaze, entranced, but very abruptly he shakes himself and folds his hands in his lap. His ears quiver in what Sonia knows is embarrassment.

“Devott,” he says in a voice that is only a little strained, “I believe I can finish brushing my hair myself, thank you. Please, enjoy your evening.”

The Hylian man’s face is perfectly impassive. “Of course, my lor—Your Majesty,” he says. Rauru’s ears flick at the self-correction, and Sonia makes a mental note of that reaction. Then Devott withdraws. Sonia holds her husband’s gaze, smiling peacefully and triumphantly. There is silence in the room except for the gentle splashing of water as Topha rinses the cloth she is using and squeezes water from it.

Rauru’s breath comes shallowly, and there is something faintly frantic in his eyes. He quite clearly wants to be alone with Sonia now. Sonia lets him squirm for a moment longer—just for fun—and then breaks eye contact to look Topha’s way.

“Topha, dear,” she says, “I think Rauru can finish washing my feet for me tonight.”

Rauru bucks slightly as though she had laid a hand on him.

“Yes, Your Majesty,” Topha says. She curtseys, her eyes low, and leaves the rag on the rim of the basin of water. The sound of the door closing after her retreat sends a little thrill of opportunity through Sonia’s core.

Now that they are alone, Rauru lets out his breath in a shudder. “Sonia,” he says, and it would sound like complaint if it were not so wracked with need.

Sonia rests her fingertips on the edge of the basin. “Come here, Rauru,” she says, and oh, the way wanting flutters inside of her as he lowers himself to his knees and crawls to her. He does not take his eyes from her face. There is something focused and absolute in them, something enchanted by desire. It makes Sonia’s heart beat a little faster. His hands are cool as he curls one beneath her sole and slides the palm of the other over the top of her foot.

Sonia tips her head to the side, her heart full of adoration. “There you are,” she says to her lover, her husband. “King of all the land, now, and yet what you really want is to be at my feet, isn’t it?”

“Yes, Sonia,” he breathes.

“Then take care of me.” She lowers the basin from the table to the floor, and Rauru begins his devotion. He is utterly gentle as he wrings excess water from the cloth and then moves it down her left shin in small, diligent circles. The paint disappears under his ministrations. When he reaches her foot, he cradles her sole once more and carefully, diligently washes the day’s dust from each toe. The warmth of his touch and the coolness of the water make her shiver.

He carries out the process with her left leg and then with her right, silent and reverent in his task. And when he has finished wiping her clean, he sets the cloth aside and bends low, face nearly to the floor as he places a gentle kiss atop her foot. Sonia inhales as desire washes through her. Delicately lifting her other foot, she places it atop his head to hold him in place.

He makes a soft moan and settles in, accepting her will.

There are so many things she thinks at times like these. How she adores him, how incredible he is. But there are other things, too, wordless things. Images of a wild animal, tamed, curling itself up at her feet. Images of a shining golden deity going to its knees before her, her. These images have so little to do with the Rauru that she knows in truth. But when he offers himself up to her like this, she feels like perhaps he would forgive her for picturing them. They fill her with light, with power. And with an overwhelming arousal. She presses the ball of her foot to the sensitive spot behind Rauru’s ear, and when he shudders with desire, so does she.

“Would you want one of that captain’s cocks in your mouth, Rauru?” she asks, voice barely a murmur. With a soft groan, Rauru nods, and she feels the movement of his head between her two feet. “I used to dream,” she confesses, “of having both of a Zora’s cocks in me at once. But now I wonder, if he had one in your mouth and one in my pussy, would you spare a lick for me? Or would you forget about me as he thrust his hips to push into both of us at once?”

“I—you—” Lust makes Rauru inarticulate. “You have thought about this a great deal.”

He’s not wrong. This is a fantasy she has nursed for a while; tonight’s captain is only a face to put to the vague idea of a body. “Answer the question, dear,” she teases, and runs her foot back and forth along the back of Rauru’s head.

He makes a lowing sound, his bent body rocking once in need. “Sonia,” he says, his voice husky, “I could not forget about you. I would—I would lick you where he entered you, suck on your pearl. I would not forget you.”

“Oh, now that is an image.” A needy shiver travels up Sonia’s body, and she draws her skirts aside so that she can sink two fingers between her folds. As she does, the gentle rattle of terracotta beads draws Rauru’s attention. Instinctively he tries to lift his head, but Sonia presses down through the ball of her foot once more to keep him in place. The way he submits to it makes the stroke of her fingertips all the more potent. “But then you are leaving his other cock unattended, aren’t you?”

“I would use my hand.”

“Mm, such an attentive lover.” She closes her eyes, just for a moment, to picture that tangle of bodies. Then she opens them again, and sees her obedient Rauru, and lets out a shivery laugh. “But then you are the only one left untouched, you poor thing. Would you wait for your own pleasure until he and I had had our fill?”

Rauru only breathes. In the quiet of the room, the slick sounds of Sonia’s self-pleasure must be reaching those soft, enormous ears of his. She can feel his composure stretched close to its breaking point, closer, closer—

Sonia,” he pleads in a ruined voice. And she offers him her mercy. Moving delicately, she sweeps her foot from the top of his head to the underside of his chin to tip his face upwards. His gaze stutters on the sight of her fingers at work on her sex, and then it comes to meet hers.

She smiles down on him.

“You don’t want to wait your turn, do you, Rauru?” she asks.

Mutely, trembling, he shakes his head no.

“Then take me to our marriage bed, love,” she tells him, and she lets him sweep her into those long, lovely arms.

Wanting is a mirage. Sonia is filled with so much wanting that she could never have it all. It would hardly be practical. And it would never compare to the truth that she has here, now: Rauru laying her down in their bed with the sweetest gentleness and watching entranced as she lets her knees fall open. Rauru leaning over her to bury his muzzle in her pussy, oh, the narrow shape of his face fitting so perfectly between her legs. She revels in his studious attentions, his hungry tongue; the tiny animal sounds of pleasure he makes as he devours her. Her need grows in graceful urgent leaps and when she says “Rauru, bite me,” he indulges her, closing those sharp teeth on her thigh with just enough pressure to break the skin. She cries out, her back arcing off the bed. Rauru laps at the wound he made and then raises his head so that she can watch him lick a drop of blood from his fangs. A shudder of desire goes through her. “You tease,” she says, because sometimes for her he plays the wild and vicious creature when in truth he is just Rauru, just her beautiful Rauru. He nuzzles his face down into her pussy once more and then looks her in the eye.

“Tell me you are ready for me,” he says, his voice shaking. “Please, Sonia.”

She sends him her most beautiful smile. “I am always ready for you, love,” she says, and she nudges his head aside to slide her fingers over her pussy in a languorous stroke. She is dripping wet and her entrance aches for him. When she spreads her folds with her fingers, he makes another one of those soft, needing sounds. He moves towards her as though she has enchanted him and slides in as though his body was made to fit hers.

Oh, no, Sonia does not need any of the mirages her mind so readily supplies, not when she has her husband. She loves the arch of his long torso, the shape of his face against the crook of her throat. His hair falls over them both, isolating them like a golden light, and his little groans are helpless and bestial and musical. He is hers. Everything he is belongs to her. And there is a magic that only the two of them can make.

After they have both spent themselves, he lays his head on her breast, and she strokes his long, sensitive ears. He is boneless and relaxed, and Sonia almost thinks she can feel the wonder in his heart.

“Hyrule Kingdom,” she murmurs, and he jumps, but only a little. He has long since grown used to her ability to divine his thoughts. She smiles, and adds, “It is a reality now. No matter what may come, no matter what time may wear away, we did this. We protected this land and built this peace, you and I. Together.”

“Together,” Rauru repeats softly. And then—with that lonely ache in his voice that he can never quite keep secret—“Do you think it will last?”

She holds her husband close. “With your power and mine at its heart, I do not see how it could fail.”
