The tense relationship between Shadow and Tails was not a secret among the friend group. Over the years, the tension was still there.
Sonic especially knew this. Having seeing his own sweet little brother talk about how he’ll bring agony and torture to the dark hedgehog when he had revealed he was dating said hedgehog.
Shadow also revealed that although he had held no hatred against his friends any more, he never liked the color yellow and also found him… not annoying but in the way……..sometimes.
Sonic was always worried if they would ever get along. His two most dearest people in his heart that wouldn't get along with each other.
He had talked to Tails about trying to work things out with Shadow since he will be starting to live with them.
Tails screams almost broke the sound barrier.

Sonic was taking things out of boxes labeled by Shadow.
Shadows books, Sabrina carpenter albums, skin care items, pillows, extra pairs of gloves, and -
The door slammed open.
Shadow looked at Sonic “you better not break my stuff, also tell your brother to piss off.”
Sonic gasped
“I won't say that to him!? What are you so angry about this time.” He said last part grumpy
Shadow growled “he's talking about how he's going to “shoot me in my face with his new advanced-pain inducing gun he made especially for me while I sleep””
Sonic sighed and got up “whatever… it's time to check up on him anyway. Just make you don't break my stuff” he gave a quick peck on Shadows cheek and walked out, giggling like a highschool girl in a movie.
Sonic made his way to Tails room. He knocked on the door and opened it “Tails? Buddy? whatcha doing” he tried to ease Tails to a more calmer state. Tails was in his bed, curled up.
“Buddy you ok?” Sonic walked over and sat on the edge of the bed. Tails didn't say anything. Sonic frowned and was starting to get worried.
Sonic moved closer to Tails “C’mon tails, talk to me” Tails finally lifted his head to look at sonic “You can find another hedgehog right?” Sonic was shocked at the idea of what tails was thinking of. “Tails… “ he said with a hint of annoyance.
Tails quickly got up “Sonic please! Listen to me! Anyone else! Not him!”
“Why do ya hate the guy?”
“HE hates me”
“Tails, he does not hate you”
“Yes he does, its like he has damn rats dying in his ass every morning”
“TAILS! Don't say those kinds of words! You’re still to young”
Tails scoffs. “I'm a lot older than when you met me y’know? I'm almost 13??”
Sonic sighs and gets up. “We’re about to eat dinner so, try to lift a smile and I'll…..talk to Shadow, ok?” Tails looks at him. “Fine”
Sonic opens the door and stops midway “Tails y’know you talk to me if something bothering you” Sonic tried to sound more comforting . Tails looks at him and then glances to the floor. “Yeah, yeah i know’
Sonic smiled and left, closing the door behind him.

It was dark outside now. Sonic was tired and simply wanted to sleep. Shadow was putting the last of his books on the book shelf in the living room. Him, tails, and shadow were putting some last things away.
Tails got up, he didn't look all too tired though. Sonic went to give a peck on the cheek “goodnight Tails” he said while patting his head. Tails purred a little. “Goodnight sonic” then he walked toward his room, closing his door shut.
A moment of silence…
“Did you tell him to piss off”
“Shadow!” Sonic whispered-yelled, trying to not wake tails
“Well? Did you?”
“No!? I won't say that??”
“Hmp”
“That's my brother shadow! You should try to bond or something”
Shadow looks at him with no emotion across his face. “whatever. I'm tired, let's go to sleep”
Sonic pouted then sighed. “You're so lucky I'm to tired”
“Lucky me” Shadow sarcastically
Sonic just turned away and walked to his and now shadows room. He flopped on his bed.
Shadow came in right behind him. Sonic laid on his bed for a while. “Soooooo, you're gonna join me or what?” he smirked.
“No, I'm going to do my skin care. Then, I'll join you”
Sonic looked at him like he was crazy. “ Nevermind, I'm too sleepy” he yawned.
“Go have fun or whatever doing your skin care”
Sonic heard a sigh and…. some mechanical noises from Tails room?
Whaterever, must be nothing too serious. He closed his eyes and went to sleep.

Sonic woke up to the noise of something mechanical and heavy scraping against the floor.
Weird, he didn't usually wake up in the middle of the night. In fact, he was a pretty deep sleeper.
Sonic slowly opened his eyes, his eyes taking a while to adjust to the dark room. He saw his little brother holding- DEAR GAIA! IT LOOKS LIKE MACHINE CANNON FROM THE DEEPEST PART OF HELL
An- and it was pointing at… SHADOW??? RIGHT ON HIS HEAD????????
Sonic felt so confused.
Tails noticed his older brother was awake. “Just close your eye's” he menacingly whispered
Sonic immediately sat up and pushed the hell-machine away from his boyfriend's head.
“What the hell are you doing, Tails!” Sonic grumbled, his voice still groggy. Tails looked at him “this is for the greater good” Sonic was just more confused as hell “Wh-wha-what??” There was a rustling noise beside him. The ears on Tails flicked. Tails looked down at shadow.
“What the fuck are you guys doing, I'm trying to sleep”
Sonic sighed
It was too early… or late? Doesn't matter
“Look Tails, what's going on, didja have a nightmare or something?”
Tails frowned “No” then he moved the damn machine back to shadows head.
Shadow looked at it, then at Tails, then at the machine-cannon again.
“What. The. Fuck.”
“Worry, it'll be agony for you” Tails said charging the machine-cannon
Sonic was more terrified.
“NO, NO, NO! WHAT THE HECK TAILS???” Sonic said while pushing shadow away from the machine-cannon and moving to get up”
“Do not shoot I swear to gaia if you shoot that”
He got the blanket off of him and stood up to grab the machine-cannon away from Tails hands.
“Tails…man what the fuck” Sonic just wanted to sleep at this point.
“Sleep in my room. I won't shoot.” Seemed like Tails new…gadget granted him mind rereading abilities.
“Good. Can you leave now? I'm trying to fucking sleep”
Sonic grabbed Tails to hold him from his waist. He then grabbed the machine-cannon with his free arm to drag it outside. He walked out of his bedroom to the hallway.
