It was supposed to be a normal, everyday, boring family photo.
Everything was going well enough.
Timothy had gotten his camera ready, Jason had actually come this year, and Richard had gotten his hair trimmed. Stephanie and Barbara had convinced Cassandra to come home for this occasion as well. Duke was there as well, but he lived at the manor, so Father didn’t have to worry about that as much.
Father, as always, had no room for any shenanigans.
But apparently that means nothing to the Wayne family.
Chaos gremlins, the lot of them.
As Damian adjusted his tie before heading out to the yard—where Timothy had ordained their photos to be taken—he heard the chaos from his bedroom.
No, he did not care to assist anyone, as they were all adults and could care for themselves.
Especially since Alfred ordered them all to be down there at 5:45.
And it was 5:41.
Damian was always known to be on time.
The next thing he heard was a rather loud ”OH SHIT” come from behind Damian, and Jason sprinting down the halls at full speed.
Damian watched him fall on his face as he tripped over his own shoe. “Congratulations, Todd. You are the clumsy one today,” Damian greeted, stepping over his brother and heading down the stairs.
By the time everyone had arrived, Alfred was watching the clock.
5:58.
The last to arrive was Father, of course.
After they’d all been carefully arranged, Alfred clicked the button for the timer and took his place—something they all insisted on.
Just before the timer went off, Tim shouted “JASON WRITES SAPPY ROMANCE NOVELS!”
Damian just sighed as all hell broke loose.
They couldn’t even get one family photo where one of them caused chaos.
Two of them, apparently.
A glitter bomb exploded above them, raining down gold glitter on the entire group and was covered in gold just as the camera flashed.
Damian smirked as his own plot took place, just as planned.
The next, and hopefully final, thing to happen.
Damian’s smoke bombs activated.
Smoke, glitter, Jason and Tim fighting in the background, everyone there.
It was a medley of chaos, yet it felt like home.
“I’M TASTING METALLIC???” Jason yells as he holds Tim over his shoulder for a moment.
“IT’S IN MY EYES!!” Dick wails, attacking Damian with a gold infested hug. Damian—kind of—tried to evade, but Dick got to him before he could.
Damian allowed Dick to hug him.
For once, he didn’t mind.
Not really.
