Chapter Text
Tim was enjoying his coffee after taking his sons to school when a knock sounded at his front door. That had meant that the people might be interesting especially since it appears they managed to avoid the traps around the house. Something that Dick and Bruce didn't manage but Tim decided to take his time because...coffee. Another knock sounded but they appeared to know that Tim was home.
"Maybe he isn't home?", offered up one voice. Male.
"He is. He is just ignoring us", replied a second male voice.
"The traps were impressive. Either he wants to keep people out or protect someone", said the first male voice.
Realizing that the two weren't going anywhere so Tim took his coffee and opened the door where he was greeted by two doctors. One appeared older with a injured leg while the younger was the same doctor that Tim saved last night which resulted in the urge to slam the door close.
"Or maybe he wants to test people to see if they are worth his time while trying to keep some away?", suggested Tim raising an eyebrow.
"Isn't that pretty extreme just for peace?", asked the older doctor.
"I don't think so. So why are you here?", said Tim leaning against his doorway.
"Doctor House and I want to hire you. This is Doctor Chase who you saved last night", replied the older doctor.
Tim glanced at the younger doctor then back to the older doctor and sighed. He just wanted his coffee, but he supposed he might see why they think he saved the younger doctor. He didn't remember much from that night anyway.
"Humor me then. Why would I be the one that saved your underling?", asked Tim reluctantly.
"Chase mentioned a wolf who got injured. Most likely either the leg or the ribs. Since you are not showing pain in walking so that means your legs are fine which leaves your ribs. Deep scratches don't heal over night", pointed out the older doctor.
Tim sighed and weighed his options before deciding to close the door despite knowing the two doctors won't leave. After a few minutes he opened the door to see the two doctors still standing there.
"Even though working as a doctor is something I want however apart from that you have nothing to offer me. I will give you credit for figuring out I'm a wolf though", pointed out Tim to both men.
The door was slammed shut leaving the two men outside who let out curses when the sprinklers came on. Tim had a feeling that they would be back, but he was curious to see what they planned to do.
He soon found out that he had quite a few interesting visitors which he didn't mind some.
