Chapter Text
It was late at night, after the championship. After helping Kai get to her car, Yuwen returned to his mom's. He climbed in as the car started… He looked at the window… All things passing by, and... he felt it again, that sting in his heart.
- Is everything okay, kid? I saw your fight with that girl… Taylor, was it again? – his mom asked, gentle as always.
- Not really... - he took a deep breath. He had never talked to his mom about love problems. - I kind of messed up. She was talking with Tom the other day, and I kinda got jealous... I think it was because I kind of wanted to have her attention on me – his shoulders slumped… He felt really bad – we ended up being friends, but… I don't want her as a friend, Mom... I want her to be mine – he admitted. It was selfish, and he knew he didn't deserve it.
- Oh... jealousy? - she let out a chuckle, getting her hands out of the wheel to ruffle his hair. - You need to control that, Yuwen… no one liked jealous boys. Well, not exactly everyone; your father… he was very jealous of me, you know? He... we had a lot of fights about that, yet he eventually caught on to the clue, you know? But our fight never actually affected us... well, maybe a bit.
- Was Dad jealous? he asked, intrigued. He was like his father? He did not like that.
- A lot... but it's okay... I loved him like that, his mom said again.- Do you think she'll ever love me this way...? - His mom froze for a bit. "Obviously not," she wanted to say; what she saw about Taylor did not like how jealous Yuwen was.
- Let's just change the topic, sweetheart. - The rest of the ride was… silent. As soon as they reached home, Yuwen went to his room; it was a big mess. Last night he had… pretty much thrown everything everywhere. He was mad… now he was sad… so sad.
He tried to sleep for, like, 3 hours; he could not… it was like 1 am. Not caring at all about the time, he pulled out his phone. Maybe he could text someone or maybe do a post on Twitter... He was pretty sure someone could tell him how to get rid of the pain in his heart. He opened Snapchat and wrote to Kai, "Hi, are you awake?" He typed, waiting for a response. After some 10 minutes, he opened Twitter and typed his emotions… on a different account, of course... yet he did not expect someone to type like that. After 10 minutes, he wrote
"Do you have anything sharp? Cutter, scissors, knife, blade"It confused Yuwen a bit; how does anything sharp help with the pain he felt in his heart? That was a bit pointless.
"Yeah, I have my desk near me," he replied.
"Just use one, the sharpest one; use it in your wrist or tight. You can do short, deep cuts or long—" Yuwen shut the app. What the heck was going on with that person? He asked for a way to get rid of the pain in his heart; he did not want to self-harm; that was for emos. He left the phone back at his night table and got up to go to the bathroom; he washed his face and went back to bed.
He could not sleep, yet he could see something that shone under the moonlight...Was he really going to do that? He was over his bathroom sink; he was fidgeting with his leg... he did it. He gave it a quick slash with his cutter; it stung. He let a smelly yelp of pain out, and he looked at his wrist and immediately regretted it.
He put it back in its place and quickly looked for something to cover up the now flowing blood. Why did he even try this? He put some toilet paper on it and went to sleep. Surprisingly, he could this time. He fell asleep, his chest not hurting that much anymore.
