Work Text:
For the record, Vi was a very good hunter.
She had racked up over 100 kills in her nearly 5 years of being in the business. Her siblings were decent hunters as well, though they were not nearly as proficient at this as Vi was. When their adopted father, Vander, had lost his life on the job at the hand of a mysterious legacy vampire about a year ago, Vi had taken over the family business without a second thought. It was her job now to protect her family. Protect her home.
For the past year, Vi had been on top of the world. Vampires didn’t stand a chance once Vi was on their tail. She kept her ropey, muscular frame (and her stakes) hidden under baggy clothes so no one would perceive her as a threat, her shockingly pink spiky hair serving as a distraction. Her routine was so smooth, so unpredictable, that any vampire she set her eyes on had usually dropped dead within moments of their encounter. Vi had to laugh at herself, sometimes. It was really too easy.
Then, one day, everything changed.
The day she met Caitlyn Kiramman.
______________________________________________________________
The Kiramman Family was essentially nobility in Piltover. Cassandra, the matriarch, was Governor, and Tobias, her husband, was a highly renowned surgeon.
Their only child, Caitlyn, was a detective with the Piltover Police Department. Her specialty? Tracking down vampires throughout Piltover and its undercity, Zaun. She had recently been promoted to lead detective of the Vampire Tracking Unit, and her parents couldn’t be more proud.
Her unit had previously clashed with the self-proclaimed Vanderson hunter clan of Zaun frequently, each group often wrestling over territory or claim over a particular kill. Upon her appointment, she had been briefed on the relatively new leader of the clan, a mysterious woman named Vi. All her unit knew about her so far was that she was incredibly strong, stubborn, and very, very good at her job.
Caitlyn’s first assignment once appointed was not to start hunting vampires, as she had expected, but to track down this enigmatic Vi. The Piltover Police Department wanted sole claim over vampire hunting in both cities, and the first step to dismantling the competition was to get their hands on the figurehead. Caitlyn had been instructed to track Vi down and bring her in.
Caitlyn searched for a few months in vain, Vi proving as promised to be elusive. Whispers of her work were left everywhere, but the woman herself remained a ghost.
__________
One evening, after a particularly difficult week getting absolutely nowhere, Caitlyn found herself wandering into Zaun and slipping into a seedy looking gay club called Babette’s.
Her parents knew about her sexuality, and were accepting, but it wasn’t something she advertised to the public. Her career aspirations led her to keep her personal life close to the chest, but that didn’t stop her from having…needs.
Caitlyn had had a few minor flings since she had left college, but nothing had felt like a good fit for a long-term thing (at least that’s what she told herself - in reality, when things started to get serious, she ran for the hills). It wasn’t typical for Caitlyn to find herself in a place like Babette’s, but she couldn’t show her face at the gay bar in Piltover (she’d had a particularly unpleasant breakup with one of the bartenders, Maddie), but it had been a really bad week, and she desperately needed to let off some steam.
Once inside the club, she headed straight to the bar for a drink. Behind the bar she found a woman with shocking pink hair that was shaved on one side. Caitlyn tried not to stare, remembering her bad luck with bartenders. But not staring was proving to be quite difficult, because this particular bartender was one of the hottest women Caitlyn had ever seen.
The pink-haired stunner caught Caitlyn’s eye, wordlessly awaiting her order.
“Bourbon, neat,” Caitlyn ordered, trying to keep herself from stuttering as she took in more of the woman before her. Piercings, tattoos, jagged scars on her lip and eyebrow, silver eyes. Caitlyn felt heat pooling below her navel.
The bartender’s scarred eyebrow raised in surprise as she reached for a bottle. “I would’nt’ve pegged you for a bourbon girl, princess.”
Caitlyn bristled at the nickname. “My name’s Caitlyn, not princess. And it’s been a rough week.”
Surprised at the tone, the pink-haired woman’s face shifted. “Sorry. Just trying to make conversation.” She slid the glass over to Caitlyn. “As an apology, first round’s on the house?”
Caitlyn noticed a little glint in the bartender’s eye, and decided to try her luck. “Only if you have one with me.”
The bartender’s eyes glinted again with surprise, taking a brief moment to look Caitlyn up and down. “I’m on the clock, if you haven’t noticed.”
Caitlyn smirked playfully. “And?”
Acquiescing, the bartender grabbed another glass and poured in a finger of bourbon. Raising her glass to hover near Caitlyn’s, she said, “To bad weeks. And bourbon.”
Caitlyn clinked their glasses. “And to beautiful bartenders,” she added.
Caitlyn noticed the bartender blush slightly at the added toast as she downed her bourbon in one shot, Caitlyn choosing instead to sip slowly. Before Caitlyn could say anything else, a group of women stepped up to the bar. The bartender dragged her eyes away from Caitlyn to take their orders, but Caitlyn noticed the unmistakable way the bartender yet again raked her eyes down Caitlyn’s face to her chest before looking away.
Too turned on to bother admonishing herself for getting the hots for a bartender again, Caitlyn hovered at the bar, sipping her bourbon and waiting for the pink-haired woman to finish the group’s orders. She clearly saw the bartender throw her some side-eyed glances while making the drinks, her lips turning up slightly as she noticed Caitlyn wasn’t going anywhere.
Finally, once the group had their drinks, the bartender turned to look down to the other end of the bar, where another bartender was steadily at work.
“Clagg?” the pink-haired woman called, and the other bartender looked up. “I gotta take a piss, cover for a few?” Caitlyn watched as the guy nodded at her.
As she turned to make her way out from behind the bar and towards the bathroom, Caitlyn was met with a flash of silver eyes, a look of mirth laying within them. Suddenly realizing it was on, Caitlyn followed the pink-haired woman down the hallway.
__________
The bathrooms at Babette’s were single-stall and all-gendered, which Caitlyn realized was somehow both a blessing and a curse. Nice in the sense that it offered lots of…privacy, but she realized that they likely weren’t the only ones having this idea.
Caitlyn watched as the bartender entered the last bathroom on the left, and when she reached the door she saw the latch was unlocked. Taking a deep breath, she opened the door slowly.
The bathroom was dark as she stepped in, but before she had time to register anything the door was being shoved closed again with urgency, and she heard the latch flip to locked. Without preamble, large hands gripped her hips tightly, and a warm mouth met hers with a fury.
Caitlyn surged into the kiss, opening her mouth almost instantaneously to welcome the bartender’s tongue, feeling her underwear start to flood with liquid heat. Usually she wasn’t this forward, this rash (or this wet, for that matter) but like she’d said earlier, it had been a really bad week.
The bartender wasted no time, moving her lips down to Caitlyn’s neck and sucking deliciously while sliding her hands underneath Caitlyn’s shirt. Caitlyn moaned at the contact, and suddenly they were pausing, the bartender pulling her lips away. Caitlyn whined at the separation.
“Sorry,” the bartender said, voice low and raspy. “Just wanted to make sure this was OK with you first. I don’t have long before Clagg will get suspicious. So, do you consent to a quickie? ‘Cause, you know, consent is important.”
Caitlyn whimpered at the statement, the consideration causing her whole body to cascade with more warmth. “Yes, you have my consent. I just want your mouth on me,” she replied breathlessly.
The bartender’s lips returned to Caitlyn’s neck with fervor, hands sliding back under her shirt and up to her breasts. Caitlyn moaned as thumbs ghosted over her nipples, then slid underneath her bra to pinch them gently. She felt a muscular thigh slot between her legs, the pressure on her clit delicious.
Caitlyn tried to gain purchase on the woman’s back, her hands sliding over broad, muscular shoulders. She slid her hand up to run through the bartender’s side shave, relishing the moan it drew out against her neck.
Suddenly, the contact on her neck vanished, and she felt a whoosh as the bartender dropped to her knees, hands grappling for the button on her pants. Understanding the urgency and more than willing to comply, Caitlyn helped wriggle her pants and underwear down to her knees, and without further ado, the bartender’s warm mouth was on her cunt.
Caitlyn gasped, hearing the pink-haired woman moan as she realized how wet Caitlyn was for her. The bartender alternated between firm pressure with the flat of her tongue on Caitlyn’s clit with plunging her tongue into her pussy, taking moments in between to lap up the growing wetness.
Caitlyn reached down to grasp a fistful of pink hair, and the bartender moaned again at the contact. Caitlyn began to gyrate her hips gently, increasing the pressure and pace, and was met with additional energy from down below.
Not normally one to come within just a couple minutes, Caitlyn found herself surprised at how quickly her orgasm built from within her lower belly, hips twitching at the continued attention to her clit. Clearly, the bartender knew what she was doing because moments later, Caitlyn was coming with a loud, “Oh, fuck,” liquid heat gushing forth that the bartender lapped up expertly. As she came down from her high, she felt her pants being shifted back up around her hips, and then suddenly that expert mouth returned to hers, kissing her senseless and imprinting her own taste on her tongue. This was one of the hottest things she had ever experienced, Caitlyn thought, head swirling.
The bartender pulled back briefly, panting, and before she had a chance to say anything Caitlyn was sliding her hand onto incredibly toned abs, fingers teasing at the edge of the bartender’s pants.
Surprise in her voice, the bartender rasped, “I don’t think I have time for…”
Caitlyn cut her off by kissing her again. “You don’t think I can make you come in two minutes?” She grabbed the other woman’s hips and turned them so the bartender’s back was now against the door. “Do I have YOUR consent?” Caitlyn whispered breathlessly.
After the briefest of pauses, she received a breathy, ”Yes” in return, and Caitlyn wasted no time latching her mouth to the bartender’s neck, knowing she was sucking right on top of a cool looking tattoo she had glimpsed earlier. Her hand returned to the bartender’s pants, making quick work of the button and zipper before sliding her hand straight past the woman’s boxer briefs and onto her dripping cunt. Caitlyn heard a loud groan, and she took that as a sign to start rubbing circles around her clit. The pressure elicited a whimper, and Caitlyn slowly slid two fingers down to the entrance of her pussy. She paused, whispering, “Two?” and getting another “Yes” whispered back between moans. Caitlyn slid two fingers inside, giving the bartender a moment to adjust, before thrusting her fingers in and out with intensity, palm putting pressure on the woman’s clit.
Caitlyn knew she was particularly talented with her fingers, and her promise was kept, because it only took about another minute for the bartender to unravel in the palm of her hand. The pink-haired woman gasped, hands grasping along Caitlyn’s back and she came down from her high.
As Caitlyn slowly withdrew her hand, the bartender immediately grabbed her wrist and pulled it up, drawing Caitlyn’s fingers into her mouth to lick them off. The sensation sent another wave of arousal through Caitlyn’s core, but the clock had run out on their little romp.
“You’re pretty alright at that, Cupcake,” the bartender finally broke the silence, still out of breath.
“I’m excellent at that. And I thought we dispensed with the nicknames already?” Caitlyn replied.
“But you’re so sweet, like a Cupcake,” the other woman clapped back, buttoning her pants and moving to unlock the door. “Maybe we can try that again sometime?”
“I’d like that,” Caitlyn said, stepping out of the bathroom after her. Suddenly realizing something, she added, “Wait, I don’t think I actually caught your name?”
The bartender turned back around, holding out her hand, and Caitlyn chuckled as she returned the handshake.
“My name is Vi,” she said, pulling Caitlyn’s hand up her mouth and kissing those fingers. “See you next time.”
As Vi turned and walked back to the bar, Caitlyn smiled as she dropped her hand back to her side. Satisfied with the course her evening had run, Caitlyn made her way towards the door, already thinking of when she could find time in her schedule to come back here.
On her way home, she thought of taut muscles and calloused hands against her body, the feeling of Vi on her mouth, her neck, her pussy. The sound of her name rang in her ears.
Vi…Vi…Vi???
As she arrived home, Caitlyn suddenly had a realization.
Wait…the bartender’s name was Vi?
Oh, fuck.
______________________________________________________________
Vi made her way back behind the bar, washing her hands and getting straight to making a gin and tonic for a customer. Clagg gave her a look as he passed behind her to grab a bottle, eyebrow raised as he muttered, “That must’ve been some piss.”
“Shut up,” Vi muttered back. She lifted her head and looked around, secretly hoping to see the dark-haired goddess she had just fucked in one of the hottest quickies she’d ever experienced, but the woman was nowhere to be found. Vi sighed - she didn’t normally do things like that, and certainly not while at work, but something about Caitlyn was intoxicating, attraction pulling on her like a magnet. Even in the low light of the club Vi had been able to appreciate the woman’s long legs, delicate curves, and a jawline sharp enough to cut glass. Even the slight gap between her front teeth was incredibly sexy. Her luscious, soft skin had been almost cool to Vi’s touch, whereas Vi tended to run hot. Like fire and ice, Vi thought. She had a voice like honey. And her hands, by gods she knew what to do with her hands.
Kicking herself for not thinking to ask for Caitlyn’s number, Vi could only hope she would return to the club again sometime. Vi tried to think of other ways she could attempt to track Caitlyn down, but the pressing business of serving customers forced her to put those thoughts aside until later.
__________
Too exhausted to function by the time she got home as the sun was rising, Vi crashed into bed. She woke around midday to sunlight streaming through her curtains, and she rolled over with a groan. Working at Babette’s was necessary supplemental income between hunts, but it was certainly tiring, though Vi realized it was hard to complain when working at a gay club gave her opportunities to encounter women like Caitlyn.
The previous evening’s romp suddenly came back to full focus, and Vi recalled her mission to see if she could track Caitlyn down, not willing to wait and see if she would come to the club again. During their…encounter Vi had noticed Caitlyn’s accent, the quality of her clothes, and given that she hadn’t seen her in Babette’s before, figured she must be from Piltover.
Vi’s hunting experience had allowed her to develop a knack for internet sleuthing, so she started on social media, scrolling through various Piltover social groups, tennis clubs, and the like, but found nothing. Realizing it was a long shot, Vi eventually just typed “Caitlyn” and “Piltover” into her search engine, and was surprised to be immediately met with a photo from an article posted a year prior.
Sure enough, there she was. Caitlyn. Standing between two other people who could only be her parents, in front of a gate adorned with two keys making an x-shape. The headline under the photo read:
Newly Elected Governor, Cassandra Kiramman, and Her Family.
Kiramman. Caitlyn was Caitlyn Kiramman ? “Well, shit,” Vi thought.
The next photo was from another article, dated six months ago.
Newly appointed Lead Detective Caitlyn Kiramman has big plans for the Piltover Police Department’s Vampire Tracking Unit
“Wait a minute”, Vi thought as she sat up. Caitlyn was the lead detective on the VTU? Also known as the unit that had made her family’s life a living hell for years, trying to put them out of business by claiming sole ownership of vampire hunting in Piltover and Zaun?
Well, shit.
______________________________________________________________
Caitlyn couldn’t sleep. The stress from nearly 6 months of searching in vain for an elusive vampire hunter named Vi led her to seek escape in a Zaunite gay club, only to end up fucking the bartender (again), then coming to find out that said bartender was the woman she’d been trying to find all along? What a fucking story.
She should feel relieved - her search was over. Or at least she finally had a lead, by knowing where Vi worked when she wasn’t hunting.
But instead of relief, she just felt sick. Caitlyn had left the club with some pep in her step, eager to find time to return and see the bartender…Vi…again. Had been hoping they’d have a chance to talk more, perhaps exchange numbers, meet up somewhere that wasn’t the club, somewhere they could….
No, no, no. Get your head on straight, Kiramman. This is the break you’ve been waiting for for months.
Caitlyn sighed, seeing sunlight start to creep through the curtains, indicating it was morning. Once again, her pussy had let her down. Another painful reminder that her love life was truly doomed.
Even though it was Saturday, Caitlyn got up, made herself coffee, and got to work. One wall of her office was dedicated to a large map of Piltover and Zaun, pins and notes dotting all over where they had cataloged big kills, tracking the Vanderson clan’s movements versus her VTU’s.
She added a pin on Babette’s and made a note. Then, she got to work assessing that neighborhood and cross-referencing with Vi’s known movements. Before she knew it, it was late afternoon.
An idea on how to bring Vi in was proving difficult. She couldn’t just waltz into Babette’s again and walk out with Vi on her arm. Caitlyn figured Vi might’ve tried to look her up by now, and due to her public prominence she wasn’t hard to find, which meant it was only a matter of time before Vi knew who she was. Which meant if she showed her face in the club again, Vi would likely make a run for it, and all Caitlyn’s progress would be lost.
The next month passed with Caitlyn deep in research and brainstorming, getting nowhere. Then, on one unremarkable Friday, an opportunity presented itself. Well, fell into her lap more like. And literally, as the opportunity was Vi actually falling into her lap.
______________________________________________________________
Vi knew the VTU had been after her for a while. At first, she was worried they had found out where she worked, Caitlyn having been sent to try and…what, gain intel? Trap her? But then she remembered Caitlyn hadn’t known her name until after they had fucked. Which meant everything leading up to that moment had been real, Vi realized with relief. But if she didn’t know who Vi was before, she certainly did now . Vi cursed herself for not thinking to use a pseudonym.
Knowing Caitlyn was probably building a scheme to capture her, Vi tried to think of a plan. Caitlyn wouldn’t dare show up at Babette’s again, but was likely working to scout around the area to try and figure out more about Vi’s movements. Vi was going to have to be very, very careful.
At the same time, however, Vi was burning with the need to see Caitlyn again. Her recent discovery of Caitlyn’s true identity did absolutely nothing to quash the searing attraction she felt. Vi had had her fair share of experience with women, but nothing she’d experienced before had come anywhere close to how insanely hot the sex with Caitlyn was, even though it had been only five minutes. The five most erotic minutes…
She wondered what would happen if she and Caitlyn just happened to…run into each other. Would Caitlyn handcuff her immediately? Pretend like she didn’t know who Vi really was, bring her home, then handcuff her? Suddenly, Vi was dreaming of handcuffs, but in a different way.
Vi was a gambler, hardheaded and rash. She relied on her strength and quick thinking to get her out of tricky spots instead of planning ahead to stay out of them in the first place. So true to her character, she came up with a plan to see Caitlyn again.
______________________________________________________________
Caitlyn had been making periodic trips into Zaun to learn as much as she could about the neighborhood surrounding Babette’s. She wasn’t going so far as to stake out the club directly, figuring Vi was probably smart enough to catch onto that, but the more she could learn about the neighborhood itself, the easier she figured it would be to come up with more ideas on how to catch Vi.
On her way back from each of these trips she took the tram back up to Piltover. One Friday afternoon, the tram was considerably more crowded than usual. Caitlyn had managed to find a seat, but the tram filled up quickly, folks cramming in the aisles between seats like sardines. Caitlyn pulled out her phone, clicking on a news app to catch up on the latest headlines.
About halfway up the climb to Piltover, they passed by a tower, jostling the tram. The person standing nearest Caitlyn was clearly unprepared for the movement as they weren’t holding on to the handholds, and next thing Caitlyn knew someone was sitting in her lap.
“Sorry about that, I….” Caitlyn heard the person trail off as she looked up. Silver eyes met hers, as Caitlyn took in the unmistakable pink hair, nose ring, and lip scar just inches from her face. Caitlyn gasped. “V…Vi?” she managed to stutter.
“Oh! Well hello there, Princess Cupcake,” Vi smirked.
Caitlyn was too stunned to respond. This was…how was this possible? Surely there was no way this was a coincidence, right? Which meant Vi had been clued into her movements. And had decided to orchestrate seeing her again anyway, despite the risks. This was…interesting.
Caitlyn cleared her throat. “What did we say about nicknames?” she teased.
“Right,” Vi replied. “Ahem. Well hello there, Caitlyn.”
“Hello there, Vi.”
“Fancy meeting you here.”
“Indeed.”
Silence followed, and suddenly Caitlyn realized how warm Vi was. Vi’s right arm was reached past her head, bracing the seat behind her. Her left hand was resting on top of Caitlyn’s, which had somehow found itself on Vi’s knee when the fall happened. Vi slowly slid Caitlyn’s hand further up her leg.
Leaning in, Vi whispered, “I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you.”
Caitlyn swallowed audibly. “Me…me either.”
The tram rolled into the station in Piltover.
“Live nearby?” Vi whispered again.
Caitlyn paused. She knew exactly what Vi was doing. Knew that Vi knew what she was doing. And, without further preamble, Caitlyn’s pussy betrayed her brain once again.
“I do.”
__________
Their second time together lasted a little bit longer than five minutes; it ended up being closer to five hours.
It started with Caitlyn coming apart while grinding on Vi’s thigh, pushed up against the front door as soon as they entered her apartment, followed by Caitlyn lifting Vi up onto the kitchen counter in a surprising show of strength and eating her out with a ferocity that had Vi wriggling with pleasure. Clothes were littered piece by piece throughout the apartment as Vi moved them to the couch, bending Caitlyn over the arm and fucking her from behind with one, two, three fingers until Caitlyn was screaming her name. Eventually they made it to Caitlyn’s bed, where they continued to ravish each other thoroughly until they only had enough energy left to stumble into the shower, where once again Caitlyn found Vi on her knees and mouth on her cunt as hot water cascaded over their shoulders.
Afterwards, Vi started to get dressed, tracking down her clothes from various places in the apartment. “Not sleeping over?” Caitlyn said, standing in the doorway to her bedroom, still naked. Caitlyn smiled at the sight of the little bruises blooming on Vi’s skin where she had left her mark, knowing full well she herself was covered in similar marks from Vi.
“I have to go to work,” Vi replied, buttoning her pants.
Caitlyn almost asked, “Which job?” but stopped herself. Instead, she said, “I suppose I should have figured as much, seeing as that’s how we met.”
Vi nodded. “This was…nice, though. Like really nice. I had a good time.”
“Me too,” Caitlyn sighed, blushing.
“Probably a weird thing to ask now, but can I get your number?” Vi asked.
Caitlyn smiled. “Of course.” She walked over to the desk, pulling out a sticky note and writing her number on it. She handed it to Vi, then went to walk her out.
______________________________________________________________
Vi couldn’t help but feel the heat flooding her entire body watching as Caitlyn walked her to the door and kissed her goodbye still naked . “This woman is going to ruin me,” she thought as she stepped outside into the crisp night air. The air up here was always lighter than in Zaun, where a perpetual haze made the air heavy, and Vi took a moment to enjoy a clean breath before heading on her way.
When she said she had to go to work, she wasn’t lying, though she wasn’t headed for Babette’s. She supposed Caitlyn knew that would be a possibility. Vi was on the tail of a vampire that she had been tracking for a few weeks, who had recently crossed the border from Zaun into Piltover. She knew it was risky hunting on the VTU’s turf, but her research had indicated this particular vampire was potentially involved with a larger network, one that Vi was suspecting had connections to the legacy that had killed Vander.
After checking the map on her phone, she pulled her hood over her head, and got to work.
______________________________________________________________
Caitlyn shut the door behind Vi, then leaned onto it with a groan.
“What
Am
I
DOING?”
She couldn’t lie, the sex was…phenomenal. Like, insane. The best she’d ever had, to be honest. And they’d only seen each other twice. Their chemistry was unmatched; Caitlyn had never experienced anything like it before.
This particular go-round she was gifted the opportunity to truly appreciate Vi’s body. Incredibly muscular and covered in tattoos, Caitlyn would have been remiss not to show her admiration with her hands, her mouth.
They hadn’t spoken of what was supposed to be happening between them. Caitlyn was supposed to be trying to bring her in. Supposed to be trying to dismantle the Vanderson operation. And Vi was supposed to be eluding her.
Because Caitlyn knew there was NO chance Vi didn’t know who she really was, what she had been instructed to do. But had managed to track her down anyway, immediately flirt with her and take her to bed.
Was this some sort of game to get her off her guard? If so, Vi was certainly a good actress. She was very enthusiastic in bed.
Or…Vi was just as magnetically drawn to Caitlyn as Caitlyn was to her. And threw danger out the window in favor of exploring the cataclysmic connection between them.
Either way, Caitlyn knew she was weaving a very dangerous web. But as she looked in the mirror, seeing the hickies blooming on her neck, chest, legs…it felt like it was worth it. At least for now.
__________
They fell into a rhythm, tryst stretching out and deepening over the course of the next few months. One of them would text, Vi would appear at Caitlyn’s, and they’d fall into bed like their bodies were made for each other.
Initially, Vi would always leave as soon as they finished devouring each other. Each time, Caitlyn would ask her to stay, and for the first few months Vi would find a reason to say no. But before long, Vi finally caved in and started sleeping over. Before they knew it, they were essentially in a relationship, though neither broached the topic of defining what they really were, the weight of their secrets gripping them like a vise around their throats.
Caitlyn found a way to make it look like she was continuing to not make progress at work, but secretly she was doing everything in her power to study Vi as much as she possibly could. Despite how intimate their relationship became, though, Vi never made any indication to Caitlyn that she had another profession besides working at the club. Vi’s job at Babette’s gave her an easy excuse to not be available many evenings, even though Caitlyn knew she wasn’t always at the club when she said she was working and couldn’t come over.
_______________________________________________________________
Vi was surprised at how easy it was to fall into…something with Caitlyn. The first couple months were heavy with passion, neither seeming to be able to get enough of each other.
As they settled into their ‘relationship’, though, and began to spend more time together, it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Occasionally, out of nowhere, Caitlyn would fall into weird moods, getting snappy and distant and cold. Vi was a natural hothead, and so they would argue bitterly. Like fire and ice, as Vi had observed when they first met. But every time they would have a blow up, Caitlyn would call her a few days later to apologize. Stress with work, an argument with her mother, something or other, gave her migraines. Then she would ask Vi to come over and would make love to her like it was their last day on earth. It was…perplexing. But still, Vi stayed. Caitlyn became her oxygen. Vi knew she couldn’t reveal anything about her work outside of Babette’s, but not being able to open herself up completely to Caitlyn was starting to eat away at her inside.
Still, it was hard for Vi to be sure whether what they had was real. Surely Caitlyn’s mission hadn’t changed, so Vi was still her prime target. But Vi couldn’t imagine Caitlyn would go to these lengths just for her job; it seemed impossible for chemistry like theirs to be fake. When Caitlyn would look into her eyes, deep cerulean blue that penetrated her very soul, Vi began to think she might not make it out of this alive. And somehow, wrapped up in the intoxication that was Caitlyn Kiramman, Vi decided she was OK with that.
_______________________________________________________________
After about six months, Caitlyn realized she was in love. She couldn’t help but acknowledge how well they fit together. Vi was warm where she was cool, impulsive where she was calculated, gentle where she was firm. Yes, they argued, but it didn’t happen often, and always made up, usually with increasingly mind blowing make up sex.
These feelings posed a major problem for Caitlyn. She knew if she didn’t start producing results at work, she would be fired, or worse, someone would find out how she was spending her time outside of work, and then Vi would be in danger.
She began to start forming a plan, a plan to tell Vi everything. Lay it all on the table and put her heart in Vi’s hands. Caitlyn knew it was a huge risk, to burst the fragile bubble surrounding them, but she wasn’t sure she could continue the lying much longer.
Being the calculated and overthinking one of the pair, however, left room for Vi to beat her to the punch, at least in one regard.
It was late one evening in March, Caitlyn reading in bed while Vi dozed beside her. Vi’s head was on her shoulder, arm thrown across her stomach.
“I love you.”
Caitlyn’s eyes snapped away from her book, looking down to meet Vi’s silver ones looking up at her with tired devotion.
Caitlyn gasped lightly at the admission, and Vi started to squirm. “You don’t have to say…”
But Caitlyn interrupted her without a second thought.
“I love you too, Vi.”
__________________________________________________________
Things changed after that. Caitlyn’s migraines started to get more and more infrequent. Vi was beginning to think they were going to make it, and was considering sitting Caitlyn down and laying bare everything they weren’t speaking about between them. Starting to wonder if she could give up hunting for good, letting Caitlyn’s unit take over, so there wouldn’t have to be an unspoken rivalry between them anymore. Vi would have to get her siblings sorted out first, but she was starting to make the plans in her head.
There was one thing Vi wasn’t willing to let go of, though: finding the legacy vampire that had killed Vander. Vander had unfortunately not kept any notes on how he’d managed to track one down in the first place, so Vi was still scraping the bottom of the barrel for leads. The vampire she’d tracked down (and killed) the first night she visited Caitlyn’s apartment had been a dead end. She vowed to herself to complete this one last mission - find and kill Vander’s killer. Then she would tell Caitlyn everything.
__________
In early June, Caitlyn asked Vi to move in with her. Without a second thought, Vi said yes. On the day of the big move, while Caitlyn was at work, Vi went back to the house she shared with her siblings to pack her things. A couple weeks ago she had broached the topic of giving up on hunting to her siblings, who initially didn’t take it well. Hunting was all they’d even known. But the promise of safer futures won out, and Vi had convinced them to start being on the lookout for other work.
At the moment, her sister, Powder, was at an interview with a robotics company. Their brother Mylo had begun work as a locksmith, and their other brother Claggor was a carpenter by day and still bartended at Babette’s a few nights a week. Even their close friend Ekko, who had also been a part of the Vanderson hunting clan for a number of years, had recently taken over running the pawn shop Vander’s friend Benzo had left to him when he retired.
The last area Vi packed up was Vander’s office. In it she found multiple journals cataloging Vander’s kills throughout the years, notes on stake design and materials, but surprisingly no notes on legacy vampires. Vi didn’t know much, only that legacies were from noble bloodlines running back generations, which endowed them with abilities far beyond what a normal vampire was capable of. They were able to be outside during the day, able to eat and drink regular food, able to go longer durations without feeding, and could only be killed with a pure silver stake to the heart. And they were usually very, very rich. All this made them considerably harder to discern from regular humans, and almost impossible to catch, as well as kill. There had been rumors of a legacy clan in Piltover for a number of years, but for whatever reason Vander didn’t have any notes about them. Surely he had been researching them somehow for him to go after one alone, but Vi had already combed the place over twice trying to find anything, to no avail.
Once all the boxes were packed, Vi went to move the desk away from the wall. Clagg would be home soon to help her load it into her truck, but in the meantime Vi wanted to get the upper shelves detached from the desktop so they could pack it into the truck more easily. As Vi grabbed the corner of the desk, she looked down to see a curved mark in the floor where the foot of the desk was, as if it had been moved away from the wall like this many times before. Curious, Vi shifted the desk, and noticed something odd on the wall where the upper shelves had been.
Seeing there was one brick that was slightly less dusty than the others and protruding a little from the wall, Vi grabbed it between her fingers and slowly pulled. To her surprise, the brick slid out easily, revealing a hidden chamber behind.
In the chamber sat a journal, and something wrapped in cloth.
Vi pulled the journal out first, blowing a little dust off the cover and flipping it open. The title on the first page read “ Legacies in Piltover ”.
She then pulled out the cloth, which was heavier than she expected. Slowly she unraveled the cloth, and what was inside sent shivers through her entire body. It was a stake, unmistakably made of pure silver.
__________
Wrapping the stake back up carefully, Vi opened the journal and began to read. The first dozen or so pages were littered with various lore about legacies, their habits and abilities. There were sketches of the silver stakes, notes indicating two had been made. Vander must have had the other one on him when he died. As she flipped through, the notes became more sporadic, indicating Vander had been reaching dead ends. But then, on the last page that had writing on it, there were two hastily scribbled notes.
Blood drives
Piltover General Hospital
Dated the day before Vander died.
Vi smiled. Finally, finally, she had a lead.

Caitlyn couldn’t believe Vi had actually agreed to move in with her. They had spent nearly all their time together at Caitlyn’s anyway, Vi having a drawer and toothbrush at her place from pretty much the day she started sleeping over. So they were basically living together already, though now it was official.
She had been trying to come up with the courage to talk to Vi for a few weeks now. Her plan was taking shape around her slowly - she would tell Vi everything, resign from her position at the VTU, ask for a transfer to another unit. Her parents wouldn’t be pleased, but Caitlyn figured she could handle it. She didn’t think she’d truly be able to dismantle the VTU entirely, though, so one of her first orders of business was to try and convince Vi to stop hunting. For her own safety.
She knew it was a huge risk, asking Vi to move in and then dumping all this on her. Vi could very well walk right back out the door without even unpacking. But Caitlyn knew she had to try, if they had any hopes of making it in the long run. She wanted to spend the rest of her life with Vi, and that meant they needed to be completely, totally honest with each other.
When Caitlyn arrived home from work though, she felt a migraine starting to prickle behind her eyes. Great, just what she needed. Vi was due to arrive any moment with her boxes, today being the literal day they moved in together, and Caitlyn felt herself slowly grow cold as the pounding in her brain increased. The sound of the door unlocking was like nails on a chalkboard to her, and the last thing she thought as the migraine took over was how she needed to tell Vi the truth, the whole truth, sooner or later, or it was going to destroy them both.
_____________________________________________________________
Vi clocked Caitlyn’s icy mood the moment she entered the apartment. Man, talk about bad timing for a migraine. Knowing by now how to avoid setting her off, Vi gave her a quiet greeting, then moved the couple boxes she’d been carrying to Caitlyn’s…their…bedroom.
Figuring leaving Caitlyn alone for a little while longer was probably her best course of action, Vi quickly came up with an excuse to leave again, saying Babette had called needing her to cover a shift at the last minute. Caitlyn barely looked at her in acknowledgement as Vi slipped out the door.
What a bummer, Vi thought as she stepped outside. It was supposed to be a special day - Vi had been planning to make them a nice dinner, open a bottle of wine, christen their apartment all night long. But Vi knew she was choosing a life with Caitlyn, all of Caitlyn, migraines and icy moods included. Needing to kill a few hours, Vi decided this was a great opportunity to start poking around and pursuing the leads she’d discovered in Vander’s notebook.
__________
After taking a few minutes to research on her phone, Vi found that Piltover General Hospital ran a monthly blood drive out of one of their clinics adjacent to the hospital. Serendipitously, this month’s drive happened to be today. Vi decided to check it out, see if there was anything interesting to observe.
It was early evening as she arrived on the block where the clinic was located, and Vi felt a rumble in her stomach. Knowing her plans to make dinner for her and Caitlyn were no longer, she was pleased to spot a 24 hour diner across the street from the clinic. Perfect - a place to post up and keep an eye on the clinic and also get some grub. Vi entered the diner, sat in a booth at the front so she had a good vantage point, and ordered a cheeseburger, fries, and a chocolate milkshake.
Munching on her dinner, Vi watched a number of folks come and go from the clinic, many leaving with bandages wrapped around their elbows. Nothing set off any alarm bells, so Vi kept watching. Her dinner was whisked away and replaced with a mug of coffee, the waiter blissfully asking no questions as to why Vi was sticking around for so long.
After hours of absolutely nothing, Vi checked her phone to see it was almost 11pm. And no word from Caitlyn. Vi decided she’d had enough staking out for one evening, and decided to brave returning to Caitlyn’s…their…apartment. She would sleep on the couch and see if Caitlyn was in a better headspace in the morning.
Vi paid her tab, then stepped out of the diner, the jingle of the bell on the door the only sound piercing the quiet, still evening. Vi almost thought it seemed…too quiet. Shrugging off the growing sense of unease she was feeling, figuring it was due to having such an intense day, she made her way across the street and towards home.
The clinic had long since shut its doors, but Vi saw there was still a light on in the back. Odd. Too tired to investigate further, she decided to save that note in the back of her mind for another day, and Vi kept walking. As she passed the alleyway next to the clinic, though, Vi thought she saw a flash of movement in the corner of her eye. Suddenly all senses were alert, feeling of unease returning.
The silver stake felt heavy in the side pocket of her rucksack as Vi paused at the entrance to the alleyway. Everything in her training, experience told her that entering the dark alley was not a smart move, as she would be entering on the defensive, not sure what she was looking for. Vi preferred to have the high ground when she was chasing a vampire. Dark alleys were a recipe for disaster.
But her eagerness to follow the lead Vander left for her won out, and Vi quietly entered the alley. As she crept along, she saw a door that presumably was the back door to the clinic, and next to the door was what appeared to be a stack of boxes. Vi got closer, not daring to turn on the flashlight on her phone and give away her position. In the low light, she crouched near one of the boxes, only to discover they were not boxes at all, but small coolers. Carefully and quietly, she lifted the lid off the top cooler. Too curious not to risk being seen, she lit up her phone screen to see if it would give enough light to see what was inside.
Feeling with her hands would have been just as effective, Vi realized as she saw what lay within. The cooler was full of bags of blood, clearly from the day’s blood drive. Bingo , Vi thought. The legacy vampire was in cahoots with the clinic, likely buying a certain number of bags from each monthly blood drive to keep themself fed. It was clever, and discreet, and Vi even felt respect for the vampire, for using this method for feeding instead of killing people outright.
As she closed the lid, Vi noticed a small sticker on the corner of the cooler. Using the light of her phone screen again, Vi saw it was a small logo, something that looked like an X. It was hard to tell in the low light, but Vi thought it looked somewhat like two crossing keys. A swirl of familiarity stirred within her, but she couldn’t place where she might’ve seen that logo before.
But before Vi had a chance to rack her brain further, she sensed movement behind her. The hairs on the back of her neck stood up, and silently she grappled for the side pocket of her rucksack where the silver stake was stowed. In her startled haste, her hand slid over the tip of the stake, sharp point cutting into her flesh. Vi pulled her hand back, feeling the wet, hot blood prick up on her palm. Cursing herself for being so clumsy, which never usually happened, Vi wiped her hand on her shirt and turned around quietly, seeing only an empty alleyway behind her.
Taking one more step, eager to get out of there, Vi sensed movement again to her left.
Before she could react, something came at her with lightning speed. Vi felt a hand clasp around her throat, instantly shoving her against the wall of the alley in an impressive show of strength. Gasping, Vi was lifted from the ground, pinned against the wall by only the cool hand on her throat.
The streetlamps at the main road gave Vi just enough light to see the outline of a tall, lean figure holding her. Whoever it was remained utterly silent, grip on Vi’s neck steadfast. Vi tried to grasp at the hand at her throat, but her palm was still slippery with blood, and she heard a sharp inhale as the scent reached the vampire’s nostrils. As Vi’s eyes started to adjust further, the vampire leaned their head in slightly, low raspy breaths ghosting on her face. Vi slowly caught a glimpse of a strong jawline, then glinting white teeth with razor sharp fangs, then a nose, and finally a pair of bright, red eyes. Red eyes framed by a face suddenly incredibly familiar, a face that had become Vi’s home, red irises replacing a usual, cerulean blue.
Recognition, and then horror, sank into Vi’s bones. As the hand around her throat tightened, the vampire made no indication she knew who Vi was. Vi felt her vision start to darken at the edges, and all she could manage was to gasp out one, terrifying word before everything went black.

__________
Vi came to slowly.
The first thing she noticed was that she was sitting in a chair, second that her hands and feet were bound to the arms and legs, third that her hand was bandaged expertly. As she opened her eyes fully, the next thing she became aware of was that she was back in Caitlyn’s…their…apartment. Third, that Caitlyn was sitting across from her on the couch, eyes their regular blue again, a look of absolute anguish on her pale face.
They sat in silence for a moment. After what felt like an eternity, Caitlyn finally spoke.
“Welcome back,” she said.
Vi stayed silent. After another beat, Caitlyn continued.
“I know there’s a lot we haven’t been 100% honest with each other about,” she admitted. This finally got Vi talking.
“You think? I know we’ve been dancing around the fact that we’re supposed to be rival hunters for nearly a year , Caitlyn, but you’re…fuck…you’re one of them ?”
Caitlyn sighed. “Yes. The Kirammans are legacies. Vampires going back hundreds of years in Piltover. I was…born this way.”
Vi was surprised at how much information Caitlyn was already offering. “But…you…literally run a police unit that hunts vampires?”
Caitlyn looked down at her hands. “My parents’ idea. They thought keeping me close to the operation would somehow keep me more out of harm’s way. I could stay informed on the PPD’s progress, giving me power to steer things where I wanted. Where they wanted.”
Vi realized, oddly, that this made perfect sense. She kicked herself for not thinking of it before. More questions bubbling up, she asked, “And where did I fit into all this?”
“I was tasked with hunting you down, bringing you in in the hopes of dismantling your clan so that the PPD could claim sole ownership of vampire hunting in both our cities,” Caitlyn replied.
Vi raised an eyebrow. This was information she already knew, so now she suspected there was more to it. Caitlyn picked up on the train of thought crossing Vi’s face, and responded.
“And yes, that was a cover of sorts, as well. My parents wanted your clan to disappear. Your predecessor, Vander, had gotten close. Too close, to discovering our identities. My parents wanted to ensure that there wasn’t a continued threat against our family.”
Blood boiling, Vi finally spat out the question that had been burning at the back of her brain since the moment she learned who Caitlyn truly was.
“Did you kill Vander? Did you kill my father?”
Caitlyn was quiet for a moment, and acid churned in Vi’s stomach, threatening to spill over. Finally, Caitlyn spoke.
“No,” she whispered.
Then…
“It was my mother.”
__________
An hour later, Vi was untied. As soon as Caitlyn had realized Vi wasn’t going to attack her, she released the bindings. They were sitting at the kitchen table, drinking tea. It was 3am.
Caitlyn had told her the whole story. How Vander had started looking into the rumored legacy clan in Piltover, how he had caught onto the blood drives, how he had discovered the Kiramman family’s process of purchasing blood from the clinic to maintain their feeding schedule, thanks to Caitlyn’s father’s connections as a surgeon. Vander had hovered around the same clinic Vi had been watching, finally seeing the same coolers Vi had, before being caught in the act by Cassandra when she came to pick up their allotment. Despite Vander’s size and strength, Cassandra had the advantage of surprise. She had made quick work of the kill before calling acquaintances to move the body, depositing it in an alley in Zaun.
Tears in her eyes, Vi clutched her tea like it was the last tangible thing she’d ever get to feel with her hands. Caitlyn had tried to reassure her that she and her family weren’t rampant murderers, that her mother had only responded in an act of self-preservation. That they only turned new vampires when it came to continuing the bloodline.
Vi realized that Caitlyn could’ve killed her at any moment by now, but she hadn’t. Instead, she was laying everything on the table. It was incredibly unexpected.
After a few minutes of silence, Vi finally asked the heavy question looming between them.
“Why haven’t you killed me yet?”
Caitlyn looked up at her with wide eyes. The answer came back surprisingly quickly.
“Because I love you, Violet.”
Vi looked up at the words, shocked. When her silver eyes met perfect blue, their entire relationship flashed before her. She was surprised at how quickly she accepted that Caitlyn was being genuine.
Caitlyn slowly reached her hand across the table, placing it inches from Vi’s, offering herself but letting Vi be in control. Vi looked up, seeing tears pricking the edges of Caitlyn’s eyes, and without a second thought reached out to grasp her hand. There was so much they still needed to discuss, but for now, Vi believed Caitlyn was telling the truth.
_____________________________________________________________
It took a very, very long time for Vi to trust Caitlyn again. But Caitlyn was patient, and they got there eventually.
Caitlyn let Vi ask her any question she wanted, promising to answer honestly. About her history, her family, her feeding schedule, how many kills she had (it was only one, her ceremonial first kill which all Caitlyn would share was a very, very bad man, the remainder of her feeding supplied by the blood drives, or occasionally from hunting animals).
The migraines? Meant Caitlyn was overdue to feed. She didn’t particularly enjoy drinking blood, so she used to put it off as long as possible, but that led to the migraines and the anger. Once she’d started to realize how this was having a negative effect on their relationship, she started making sure to feed more often so they wouldn’t be put in that position.
The red eyes and lack of recognition in the alley? Only happened when she was near fresh bleeding. Caitlyn had stopped by the clinic to pick up their family’s allotment for the month, only to be surprised by Vi’s presence. The fresh cut on Vi’s hand had sent her brain into overdrive at the scent, turning her eyes red. Caitlyn had only been brought back to herself when Vi had said her name. Once she’d realized what was going on, she’d quickly released Vi and brought her home in a panic.
Caitlyn shared how she hadn’t known who Vi really was when they first met, how she figured it out soon after Vi shared her name, how surprised she was when Vi had tracked her down anyway, how she had dispensed any sense of self preservation in the name of being close to Vi again. How she had initially been using their time together to do research, before that had been thrown out the window as soon as she realized she was in love.
How she knew the knowledge of her true identity would tear Vi apart, but being terrified to tell Vi the truth, knowing that surely Vi would leave her, or try to kill her, as soon as everything was revealed. Caitlyn admitted she was shocked that they had made it this far, that Vi was still willing to listen, to hear her out.
__________
Vi slept on the couch for the first few months after the revelation. Caitlyn never pressured her, never had any expectations, was just relieved that Vi hadn’t moved out. Then, one afternoon in August, close to a year to when they first started seeing each other, Vi finally touched her again.
It was subtle, and almost unconscious, but Caitlyn had been cooking dinner in the kitchen. Vi passed by her to fill a water glass from the fridge, hands ghosting over Caitlyn’s hips as she squeezed by. Caitlyn flinched at the contact, it being the first time she had felt the touch of Vi’s hands in weeks.
Vi sensed the reaction, and placed her water glass down on the counter before moving to stand behind Caitlyn, slowly sliding her hands around her waist, hugging her from behind. They stood there for a moment, breaths increasing in frequency at the contact. Vi kissed the back of Caitlyn’s neck, then released the touch, leaving Caitlyn trembling in her wake. Caitlyn sighed; it was not at all enough, but also somehow everything.
_____________________________________________________________
In September, Vi asked, “So, you’re immortal, yes?”
Caitlyn seemed surprised by the question. “Yes. Unless I’m killed, of course, but otherwise yes,”
“So how old are you, really?”
“I’m actually very young, same age as you pretty much. We don’t really track specific years, but I’m somewhere in my late twenties,” Caitlyn replied.
Vi nodded, finding herself somewhat relieved that there wasn’t some 100+ year age gap between them.
“And how would you…get married?”
Eyebrows rising at the question, Caitlyn replied, “I would either need to marry another legacy, which is rare, or marry a human and then turn them. Which is what my mother did to my father. There’s a ritual for a legacy vampire to turn their spouse into a legacy as well, with a formal ceremony completed on the wedding night.”
Vi nodded in understanding, and that was the last they spoke of the topic for a while.
____________
In late October, desire finally outweighing the conflict that had been burrowing in Vi’s stomach, Vi made love to Caitlyn again.
Vi had eventually returned from sleeping on the couch to join Caitlyn in their bed at some point earlier in the fall, but they remained separated. Vi was grateful for Caitlyn’s seemingly bottomless patience as she figured out this new dynamic between them. But after months of barely touching, Vi couldn’t wait any longer.
They had gone to a masquerade ball hosted by Caitlyn’s parents. Vi had made every effort to avoid Cassandra and Tobias like the plague, her anger over Vander’s death fighting to gain the upper hand over her love for Caitlyn.
Upon arrival home, Caitlyn had needed help getting out of her dress. After she lowered the zipper, Vi’s hand traced back up Caitlyn’s spine, immediately eliciting goosebumps across both their bodies. Caitlyn turned around as soon as her dress hit the floor, eyes dilated and dripping with desperate desire. Vi slammed their mouths together in a frenzy, months of pent up longing and confusion culminating in the most voracious of kisses.
Vi shed her shirt and pants in record time before guiding Caitlyn to the bed, her lover keening as Vi unclasped her bra.
“I’ve missed you so much, baby,” Caitlyn managed to gasp, nearly in tears, as Vi ripped her panties to pieces and dove her head between her legs.
Vi devoured her lover’s pussy like a woman starved, to the music of “Yes! Violet!” as she made Caitlyn come one, two, three times before coming up for air. Vi looked up as Caitlyn peered down at her with reverence, before she was being pulled back up onto the bed and flipped over. Caitlyn straddled Vi’s hips, reaching up to pin Vi’s wrists against the mattress with her hands. Vi didn’t try to wriggle away, instead choosing to stare at Caitlyn with incredible intensity. Caitlyn gave her a look as if to ask, Is this OK?, and Vi nodded.
Caitlyn shifted Vi’s wrists together above her head, grasping them both in her left hand to free her right hand for…other things. She traced down Vi’s body slowly with her fingertips, lingering on Vi’s chest and nipples until she was squirming with desire. As Caitlyn moved her hand to the edge of Vi’s briefs, Vi could sense the dark spot pooling on the grey fabric at the juncture of her thighs, noticeably setting Caitlyn ablaze.
In a display of her true strength, Caitlyn tore Vi’s briefs off with only one hand, tossing the scraps off the bed with a flourish. Without wasting any more time, she slid her fingers into Vi’s pussy, starting with two as she knew Vi liked, and began to thrust with a desperate enthusiasm, thumb tracing circles on her clit.
Within moments, Vi was screaming Caitlyn’s name as the long overdue orgasm crashed over her. She then screamed it again when Caitlyn released her wrists and moved down to worship Vi with her tongue.
Afterwards they lay tangled in each other’s arms, and it was then Vi decided this was it for her. If her choices were to be with Caitlyn forever, or go back to her lonely, solitary life of hunting, she would choose Caitlyn. She knew it would be a difficult conversation with her siblings, but they were fairly settled in their non-hunting lives at this point, so Vi knew they were going to be OK.
Stroking Caitlyn’s arm with her fingertips, Vi looked up into the cerulean eyes that belonged to the love of her life. Without hesitation, she whispered,
“Will you marry me?”
______________________________________________________________
Planning the wedding was surprisingly effortless, Caitlyn found. Growing up, she had expected this giant debacle, flowers and people and fussy relatives. But in the end, all that mattered was her and Vi.
The hardest part had been coming clean to Vi’s siblings. It had been important to Vi for them to know the truth, so they sat them down together and told them everything. Vi’s sister, Powder, initially looked like she was going to murder Caitlyn, but eventually Vi talked her around.
Caitlyn’s mother had initially been less than pleased that she had chosen a partner from Zaun, but once she’d seen how happy Caitlyn was she softened her stance. Vi, for that matter, was initially very bristly around Cassandra. Facing her father’s killer, who now happened to be her future mother-in-law, was something Caitlyn knew Vi would need considerable time to get used to. Caitlyn didn’t pressure them to have a relationship, just as long as they didn’t try and kill each other. Vi would likely never forgive Cassandra, but was at least willing to let it go enough to leave it alone, and Caitlyn couldn’t be more grateful.
They managed to keep the wedding ceremony a rather intimate affair, despite Caitlyn’s prominence in Piltover’s high society. At the end of the day, their wedding day was about no one else but them.
Vi visibly cried as Caitlyn walked down the aisle. Upon arrival at the altar, Caitlyn paused to wipe the tears off Vi’s cheeks, her own eyes glistening with emotion. Their vows mentioned love, devotion, and protection for all eternity - no one but Caitlyn, Vi, and their immediate families knowing eternity literally meant forever , in their case. At the indicated moment, they kissed each other with a passion that made everyone in attendance blush.
__________
Once safely tucked away in their honeymoon suite, Caitlyn stepped out of the bathroom wrapped in a silk robe to see Vi standing outside, leaning on the railing of the balcony. Stepping out to snake her arms around her wife, Caitlyn leaned down to whisper, “Are you ready?”
Vi looked up at her with a love that could move oceans. “Yes,” she whispered.
Caitlyn led them toward the bed, stopping to remove Vi’s tie, unbutton her shirt, and slide off her pants. She then paused so Vi could slowly pull at the tie on her robe, letting drop to the floor revealing a stunning pink lingerie set that matched the color of Vi’s hair. Blush crept up Vi’s neck and to her cheeks at the sight.
“You’re beautiful,” she whispered, reaching out to trace the edge of the lace barely concealing Caitlyn’s breasts. Caitlyn shuddered at the contact, then pulled Vi in for a deep, passionate kiss.
Once on the bed, Vi took her time unraveling the lingerie, treating Caitlyn as if she were a gift she was going to treasure for all time. They made love slowly, taking time to appreciate and revere each other’s bodies. Caitlyn made sure to truly savor feeling the warmth of Vi’s flesh, knowing the transition would drop her core body temperature to match her own. After they were sated and lying in their post-orgasmic glow, Caitlyn sat up and looked down at her wife.
“Ready?” Caitlyn asked.
Vi nodded.
“I love you, Violet,” Caitlyn whispered.
“I love you too, Cait,” Vi sighed, trembling slightly. Sensing the little flash of nervousness, Caitlyn reached out to cup Vi’s face.
“I’ve got you, darling,” she purred. Vi nodded at her, leaning up for one more kiss before lying back down.
Once she was settled, Caitlyn smiled, revealing razor sharp teeth glinting in the moonlight. She slowly lowered her mouth to Vi’s neck, lips ghosting gently in a light kiss before biting down and beginning to suck. The last thing Vi thought before slipping into darkness was,
Never, never, never ever let go…
