Chapter Text
She was completely out of suppressants but her heat didn’t care. Brianna could feel the telltale signs of her heat sneaking up on her— a warm, prickling sensation at the back of her neck, a swirling of adrenaline in her stomach, and a strong urge to pile every blanket in the apartment on her bed. This wasn’t good. She was almost a full week early and with all the new governmental regulations on suppressants there was no way she’d be able to get her meds in time to stop this. She would simply have to wait it out the old fashioned way.
Brianna paced nervously to the kitchen and checked the fridge. She should have enough stocked up for the next three or four days. Grabbing a bag of potato chips, Brianna scampered over to the hall closet where she and Sam kept the extra blankets.
Oh no… in her panic Brianna had completely forgotten about Sam, a beta and her roommate. The two girls were best friends and Brianna adored Sam, but Brianna’s status as an omega was something she kept secret from everyone except her family. She had learned a long time ago that it made life easier. And safer. And as much as she liked Sam, there was a small, instinctive nugget in the back of Brianna’s mind that whispered that if Sam knew she wouldn’t treat her the same.
She didn’t have many options here though. She’d just have to barricade herself in her room, say she was sick, and pray that Sam didn’t have too strong of a nose. Sam had already left for work that morning so Brianna had some time to figure this all out. She pulled the entire stack of clean blankets, sheets, and decorative pillows from the closet and dragged the fluffy mound towards her room.
A few hours later Brianna was putting the final touches on her nest. She had covered all of the air vents and the crack underneath her door with slightly damp towels and had made sure to completely shut her window. The last thing she needed was an alpha from another floor catching her scent and tracking her down in order to breed her. Brianna shuddered. Sure it was risky living among alphas but it was risky living in the city, period. Besides, the closest housing relegated to single omegas was several miles from her work and the crudely nicknamed “slick slums” were just as dangerous as her living situation, if not more. And, more importantly, if she lived there then she couldn’t bring Sam.
Brianna surveyed her bed, which she had artfully covered in blankets and pillows, carefully forming a cozy bowl in which she would be spending the next few days. She had piled all the snacks she could find within arms reach and she had filled one of Sam’s massive workout water bottles for her bedside table. From experience she knew she was about to lose a lot of fluids and if she didn’t keep drinking she would be liable to pass out. A wistful pang struck her as she gazed down at her nest. How long had it been since she’d made one? She’s been on suppressants for her entire adult life. Weirdly, despite all the logistical problems this heat was piling on her, Brianna felt just a little grateful for the opportunity to reconnect with herself. After all, she’d been calling herself a beta for so long she was almost starting to believe it. Still, the thought that she was forgetting something wiggled in the back of her mind. Wait that’s it! Her job! In her nesting frenzy she had totally forgotten. Pulling out her phone she messaged her manager.
Hey Julie I’m like super sick. I definitely can’t make my shift tonight and I probably won’t be able to make tomorrow night either. I feel like I got hit by a truck.
Ahh I’m so sorry!! I’ll find someone to cover. Definitely don’t come in if you’re not up to it. If I end up having to serve for an evening it won’t kill me.
Brianna smiled. In her years serving at different restaurants Julie was definitely the best manager she’d ever had and it made the job so much easier. While she was at it she fired off a text to Sam.
I’m not going to work today I’m super sick. I’m just gonna lock myself in my room bc you definitely don’t want to catch whatever this is. Might not come out for a while.
Thx for the heads up. I’ll bring you soup.
That was Sam. Always trying to fix her problems for her. Unfortunately this time she had added a bit of a hurdle but hopefully she could convince Sam to just leave whatever she wanted to give her outside her door and let her grab it when she wasn’t looking.
Brianna curled up in her nest with her laptop and spent most of the day binging Netflix and munching on her snacks. However, as the sun began to set and she neared the end of season one of The Office, Brianna started to feel uncomfortably wet between her legs. The warm, prickly sensation from earlier had snuck up on her and now her whole body felt hot and sensitive. Though she valiantly tried to distract herself her mind kept veering into sexy daydreams. An alpha sucking gently at her nipples while their hand caressed her thigh. An alpha pushing their face between her legs and lapping at her slick like they were dying of dehydration. An alpha rutting into her from behind while one of their hands yanked on a fistfiul of her hair. An alpha… Brianna’s Netflix buffered aimlessly on the Are You Still Watching? screen and her hand had dipped down in between her thighs but she barely noticed as her heat-dumb mind continued to fantasize. Brianna, riding an alpha at a slow, torturous pace as her slick on their cock made a primal, slurping sound. Brianna folded over in an alpha’s lap as they spanked her, her ass rippling with each strike. Brianna on her knees as she sucked greedily on alpha cock, her hand caressing the knot at its base.
Brianna was in the thick of her heat now and her pheromones radiated from her pussy as she tried in vain to satisfy herself. She rolled over to get a better angle on her hand and buried her face in her pillow as she ground down against her fingers as hard as she could. Completely focused on her fantasies, her sensitive body, and the quiet moans she was emitting into her pillow, she didn’t hear Sam’s key turning in the lock.

It had been a long day at work for Sam. She had gotten up extra early that morning to have time to hit the gym before she went in to work. As a rare female alpha, regular workouts helped her control her aggression but they left her sore and they never seem to completely take the edge off. They tamped her temper down just enough to pass as a beta but she never quite felt satisfied. Then at work (she was a physical therapist for the nearby hospital) she’d had to deal with some incredibly chauvinistic comments from one of her patients. The whole mess had riled her back up again and she had been unable to calm down for the rest of the day. To make matters worse, Bri was sick and she’d swung by the nearby Chinese place for some dumpling soup just to give herself the illusion that she could do something to help her. But as her key turned in the lock and the door swung open, the pheromones that assaulted her sensitive alpha nose made her completely forget all of that. There was an omega. In heat. In her apartment.
“Bri? What are you doing? What’s going on?” Sam just about growled as she stalked towards her roommate’s door. She heard a muffled moan as she neared the door. A needy moan, desperate even. In Bri’s voice. Sam just about fell over. Bri was a beta. This shouldn’t be happening. Did she suddenly start dating someone? But then why would she say she was sick?? Something wasn’t adding up in Sam’s mind but then she heard Bri call out through the door in a voice that warbled with desire.
“I-I’m ok I’m just s-sick. P-please just l-leave me alone”. The truth hit Sam like a brick. Brianna was an omega. She’d been hiding it from Sam probably for similar reasons that Sam hid her alpha status from Bri. But she must’ve run out of suppressants and now she was in heat. In their apartment. Sam bit her lip hard to swallow the howl that ripped through her throat. She frantically jiggled the doorknob to Bri’s room but it was locked.
“Sam!” Brianna whined indignantly. “I t-told you to leave me alone!”
“I can smell you” Sam growled, her voice dropping almost an octave. She could hear Bri whimper in response and her scent grew sharply stronger. “I know what you are. You’re not sick. You’re in heat.” Sam was practically scratching at the door in her instinctual rush to get to the source of those whimpers. And that scent. Sam felt her penis swell painfully in her pants as every sound Bri made seemed to go straight to it.
“No-o-o?” It sounded more like a question. Sam wondered if Bri was touching herself while they conversed. Judging by the overwhelming potency of her pheromones Sam would guess yes. Her pants tented outwards as her cock swelled with need and she unconsciously rubbed a hand against it as she replied.
“Don’t lie to me Bri. I know what you’re doing in there”
“You do?” Brianna gasped and pulled her hand away from her clit, suddenly embarrassed.
“I do. And I hope you understand what a dangerous position you’ve put us both in. We’re registered as two betas in this apartment. I don’t want to find out what happens if someone discovers that that’s not true.”
“I’m sorry I really am” Bri blubbered. “But I’m a week early and I didn’t have any suppressants and I didn’t know what to do”
Sam just about broke the door down as Bri almost slipped into crying and the urge to get in there and comfort her, hold her close, and soothe her panic became even more overwhelming than the urge in her cock.
“I covered the vents?” Bri continued. “And I called out of work”— Sam cut her off.
“It’s going to be ok. I just wish you would’ve warned me is all. Ok? Now you just stay in there and I’ll make sure that no one finds out. Alright?”
“Ok”. There was a pause. “Sam?”
“Yeah?”
“Can you… help me?”
Sam’s mind was filled with visions of her kicking the door in, of fucking Bri in whatever cute little nest she had built, in helping her with the urgent lust that was clearly consuming her. Of fixing her shaky, breathy voice by rendering her unable to do anything except moan Sam’s name. Thankfully, Sam was able to hang on to her fraying self control, so she simply swallowed audibly and replied:
“No. You’re in heat. You can’t consent.” And she turned on her heel and stalked off to her room, doing her best to ignore the equally disappointed and lustful wails coming from behind Bri’s door.
