The typing of the keyboard was starting to annoy Jake now. Usually, it isn't the case but he has been having writer's block for the past few months.
He wanted to throw something at someone with a deadline nearby and no inspiration to write.
Alas, that wasn't possible. So he picked up his wallet and keys and headed straight to his favourite cafe near his home.
The cafe was warm and inviting, with the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafting through the air. Soft jazz music played in the background, mingling with the gentle hum of conversation from the patrons. The cosy lighting and plush chairs created a perfect refuge for Jake to clear his mind and find a spark of creativity.
Ordering his regular coffee, he made his way to his favourite table, a cosy little nook by the window that offered an unparalleled view of the bustling street outside.
The scenery was simply amazing, with people coming and going, each lost in their own world, and the vibrant colours of the changing leaves framing the scene like a beautiful painting. This picturesque setting often sparked a good idea for writing, a burst of creativity that would flow effortlessly through his fingers onto the keyboard.
But today was different. As he sat there, staring at the blank screen in front of him, he felt a growing sense of frustration. The usual buzz of inspiration that would accompany his visits to this spot was nowhere to be found.
Instead, he found himself grappling with a stubborn writer's block that refused to budge, no matter how many sips of coffee he took or how hard he tried to focus.
With a deep sigh, he ran a hand through his hair, feeling the weight of unfulfilled expectations pressing down on him. The once inviting glow of the laptop now seemed to mock him with its emptiness.
In a fit of irritation, he slammed the laptop shut, the sound echoing in the quiet corner of the café. He glanced around, noticing other patrons deeply engrossed in their own work, their faces a mixture of concentration and inspiration, and he couldn’t help but feel a twinge of envy.
Sighing deeply, Jake reluctantly pushed himself off the chair, feeling the weight of the day bearing down on him. He made his way over to the dustbin, the familiar sound of the bustling café fading into the background as he focused on the simple task of throwing away his empty coffee cup. The cup crumpled slightly in his hand, a reminder of the energy he had hoped it would provide, but now it felt like just another item to discard along with his waning enthusiasm.
As he glanced up from the dustbin, ready to return to his seat, he was abruptly jolted from his thoughts by a sudden collision. Jake stumbled back slightly, his eyes widening in surprise as he took in the striking figure before him.
Standing there was a man with pinkish-violet hair, styled in a way that radiated charisma and confidence. It took Jake a moment to register the familiar face—this was none other than Heeseung, the famous K-pop male idol who had captivated millions with his talent and charm.
He looked even more striking in person than he ever did on television or on the billboards that lined the streets.
Standing tall, he exuded an aura of confidence that was hard to miss. His skin had a slight tan, giving him a healthy, sun-kissed glow that made him appear vibrant and alive. His physique was the perfect blend of leanness and muscularity, suggesting he was both strong and agile.
His pinkish-purple hair cascaded around his face, accentuating his angular features, and creating a striking contrast that drew attention despite the fact that half of his face was obscured by the hat he was wearing.
The hat, paired with a casual hoodie, added an air of mystery to his appearance, making it difficult to discern his expression. The vibrant colours of his hair seemed to glow softly, framing his visage and highlighting the sharp lines of his jaw and cheekbones.
Even with the cosy fabric of the hoodie enveloping him, there was a certain boldness in his style that suggested a confident personality, ready to take on the world, even from beneath the shadow of his hat.
But it was his eyes that truly captivated Jake—large and expressive, reminiscent of a young deer, they sparkled with a mix of curiosity and dark intensity that drew you in.
Overall, he was a breathtaking presence, far surpassing any image captured on screen or in print.
On any other day, Jake might have brushed off the encounter with a friendly apology, perhaps even a smile at the chance meeting with a celebrity. However, today was different. An underlying irritation simmered within him, a response to a combination of stress and exhaustion that had been building over the past few weeks. He felt a surge of annoyance bubble up inside as he contemplated the absurdity of colliding with a star in a moment that should have been mundane.
Heeseung, for his part, appeared momentarily taken aback, his bright eyes scanning Jake’s expression as if trying to gauge the situation. Normally, he would have laughed off such an accidental bump, but his fans are often enamoured by his easygoing nature and sense of humour. Yet today, the slight disturbance in his routine was unwelcome, adding to the weight of his own frustrations from a long day of rehearsals and fan meetings.
“Can’t you see where you are walking?” Jake let out the irritation slip through his voice.
Heeseung took a deep breath, feeling the tension simmering beneath his skin. “There’s really no need to be so rude,” he replied, forcing his voice to remain steady. “I apologise.” It was difficult for him to keep his cool in this situation, especially after the chaos that had unfolded due to the relentless sasaeng fan who had been stalking him all day.
The confrontation had taken an unexpected turn, and he found himself standing there, embarrassed and frustrated, now that he had also ruined the stranger's shirt.
His eyes were drawn to the stranger, who stood in front of him, looking quite adorable despite the circumstances.
He had long black hair that gracefully framed his face, softening his features and highlighting the delicate curve of his jaw. At that moment, his mouth was downturned into a slight pout, creating a look of disappointment that tugged at Heeseung’s heartstrings.
But it was his eyes that truly captivated Heeseung; they sparkled with warmth and innocence that reminded him of a golden retriever, full of curiosity and charm.
The height difference between them was nothing short of striking, a clear and notable contrast that could hardly be ignored. Heeseung stood tall, towering over him by a good few inches, casting a long shadow that seemed to emphasize the disparity between their statures. This vertical gap not only made Heeseung appear more imposing but also accentuated the smaller figure’s sense of vulnerability.
There he stood, clad in an oversized shirt that hung loosely from his frame, the fabric almost swallowing him whole. The shirt, while comfortable, only served to magnify his diminutive presence beside Heeseung.
His expression was a complex tapestry of emotions, as irritation and anger flickered across his face like a storm brewing on the horizon. The furrow in his brow and the clench of his jaw betrayed a simmering frustration, perhaps directed at the situation they found themselves in.
Heeseung couldn’t help but feel a pang of guilt for having ruined the stranger’s day as well.
“How about I give you a shirt you can wear and buy you a coffee?”
“If this your way of saying sorry for ruining my shirt then keep it to yourself, I was leaving anyways”
Jake shrugged him off, feeling the weight of the day's frustrations pressing down on his shoulders. He took a deep breath and began to walk toward his table, where his laptop sat waiting for him, a silent reminder of the work still left to be done. The thought of heading home, where he could unwind and escape the demands of the office, fueled his steps.
However, just as he was about to reach his destination, he felt a sudden grip around his forearm.
Startled, he turned to see a pair of veiny arms, sinewy and strong, wrapped tightly around him. The unexpected touch sent a shiver down his spine, and he instinctively halted his movements. The grip was firm, almost possessive, and it effectively stopped him in his tracks, pulling him back from the brink of his escape.
Confusion washed over him as he glanced over his shoulder, trying to comprehend the situation that had just unfolded.
“I insist. Please”
“Okay, fine,” Jake stated, his voice carrying a tone of resignation that indicated he was clearly done with the conversation. The flicker of irritation in his eyes was evident as he crossed his arms and leaned back slightly, creating a physical barrier between him and the relentless chatter.
“Buy me an Americano,” he added with a hint of sarcasm, as if the request was an afterthought that he couldn't be bothered to put any real effort into.
Heeseung, on the other hand, was unfazed by Jake's brusque demeanor.
With an inquisitive expression, he tilted his head to one side, trying to get a better look at the warm, expressive eyes of the stranger before him. The gentle light from the café’s overhead lamps cast a soft glow on Jake's features, making his irritation seem almost playful in contrast to Heeseung’s curious gaze.
“May I ask your name?” he inquired, his voice light.
“Jake”
“Heeseung,” He said introducing himself.
“I know”
And moved forward to sit at his previous table.
