Work Text:

Ozawa Yuko's fist stopped mid-air in front of the wooden door leading to the dorm room she had spent the better part of the last half hour searching for. She would have found it sooner if she just asked someone. But for some reason, her throat closed up every time she noticed a student or teacher ultimately leading her to avert her gaze and wander around the large building in search of Itadori Yuuji's room on her own.

Now that she was certain she had the right door. Well, as certain as she could be given that it looked identical to so many others, she felt strangely self-aware.

For a brief moment, Yuko lowered her hand and started to fix the hem of her sweater and the top of her long skirt already regretting her choice of clothing and hoping Yuuji wouldn't notice she was hot or sweating like an elephant. It was far too warm for a sweater, but she couldn't image going through with a well-form-fitting dress, no matter how much she wished she could.

In the end, it shouldn't matter what she wore, but who she was meeting with.

Her heart speeded up at the mere thought that Yuuji was behind the door waiting for her. It was a familiar mixture of nervousness and anticipation, she felt every time she was about to meet with the pink-haired boy, she adored so much. She wondered if she would always feel this dazzled by him. She couldn't say she minded too much if she did.

That being said, not for the first time today she took a moment to look over at her bag wondering if she would even need any of the things she had inside.

Maybe I'm being silly, she thought to herself not for the first time since the boy with the pink undercut asked her over, Maybe we'll just watch a movie and all that preparation and stress will be for nothing.

She didn't really believe her own optimistic thoughts, but she also didn't flat-out mock them.

Taking a deep breath, and recalling Kugisaki Nobara's words of encouragement, she decided to push against her insecurities and just knock. However, the moment, she rose her hand, the door opened startling the poor girl.

She yelped a bit taking a step back while Yuuji who didn't seem to notice or mind offered her a bright smile, 'Ah, you made it. Hi, Yuko-chan.'

Her heart was beating rapidly both because of the boy surprising her like that and because of hearing him call her in such a cute way.

I'll never get used to it, she thought and offered him a wave and a grimace she hoped seemed friendly enough to pass for a smile, 'Hi, Yuuji-kun.' Calling him in such a way came as hard to her as wearing high heels, but somehow Yuko powered through, 'T-thank you for having me.'

For a moment he just stood there smiling at her looking like a pet dog excited to have their owner return from work early which warmed the already so-influenced by him girl's heart even more. Some of the nervosity would always stay with her, but seeing how genuinely happy Yuuji seemed every time they met, really helped with her self-esteem.

Finally, after he must have realized he was staring he let out a slightly nervous laughter and brushed the back of his head, 'Sorry, how rude of me.'

He quickly however returned to his laidback and cheerful self and stepped aside allowing her plenty of room in the doorway, 'Come in, come in. I've already cleaned up and prepared everything.'

Doing her best to seem as confident and relaxed as he looked although she was sure she would never achieve the same level of carefreeness, Yuko stepped inside.

Once she did, almost immediately, he stepped closer to her almost stepping on her foot with how swiftly he tried to close their distance.

Having gone through her growth spurt and in her cute little heels, she was fairly close to Yuuji's height, only a few inches shorter than him, so to have him this close meant she was face to face with him.

His expression was the typical carefree happiness, she adored seeing him so much, but his eyes revealed something eager, 'Is it okay to just do it?'

Her heart skipped a beat. She would never be as bold at him no matter how much she wished she would, but somehow she mustered enough confidence to nod and whisper, 'You can always just…do it.'

His brown eyes momentarily landed on hers before they sunk to her lips.

Yuko managed to let out a small sigh before she felt the boy gently cup her face with shaky palms and press his mouth to hers in a soft kiss.

They've already done this before. Last week, when Yuuji confessed he knew of her feelings and was starting to feel something too. That alone would already made this the best year of Yuko's life, but he had to one-up it, by asking to kiss her and then actually kissing her again and again until the notification on his phone told him he would miss his bus if he didn't leave in the very next second.

Still, even if Yuko already experienced what it was like to kiss Itadori Yuuji for the first time, it was in no way enough to prepare her for another one.

His lips weren't delicate, but she liked their roughness when imprinted onto hers when they moved against them. He kissed her slowly, for which she was grateful because it still felt like more than enough for her weak heart to handle. Yuko did her best to mirror his movements. There was no class, or anything fancy about them further underlining the fact that he was just as new in this as she was, but it didn't matter to the in-love girl one bit.

When she felt him tilt her head a bit backwards and deeper the kiss, she let out the smallest of the moans letting her soul sink into the blissful sensation he awoke inside her.

They broke the kiss to finally breathe. Something Yuko realized was crucial in order not to pass out, and with heated cheeks, she giggled in delight.

'You liked that?' asked Yuuji eagerly still holding her face between his hands. Surely, it wasn't cool to ask something like that, but Yuko didn't care. She loved him all the more that he did ask.

She nodded, 'A lot.'

Despite some of her high school classmates living in high school dorms, Yuko had never been to one, and definitely not one that belonged to a boy. She wasn't sure what to expect when she tried to picture Yuuji's dorm room when he talked about it or asked her to come over for movies today, but she thought she managed to create a quite believable image.

His room was modest and seemed furnished like she would expect from any dorm room. He possessed a simple western bed, closet, desk and chair, and a nightstand. She could tell there was a lamp in the corner that was also a part of the room, but Yuuji seemed to disregard it in favor of a Wizard of Oz one that took its place on his desk.

The lamp made the brown-haired girl smile since it was a reminder of how much of a movie enthusiast Yuuji was.

As she stepped deeper into the room, she searched for more items that would be Yuuji's in the door and found several comic books, DVDs, and posters all over.

'You cleaned up nicely,' she praised him noting that it seemed he got rid of almost everything that would appear out of place in his room.

Yuuji brushed the back of his head, and easily confessed, 'Thanks, I really put my back into it. Kugisaki was on my ass since yesterday.' It always stunned Yuko and warmed her heart how easy it seemed for the boy to admit to everything she asked of him. He was so oddly honest with her, no matter how dark or uncomfortable the questions were.

She continued to smile before she remembered something and looked around again, 'Huh? Did you get rid of your Jennifer Lawrence poster?'

His brown eyes widened for a brief second before he asked shocked like she just told him something that was supposed to be a national secret, 'You knew about it?'

Yuko offered him a small nod hoping he wasn't too stressed she did, 'Your friends mentioned it that one time we met at the bistro. Was it a secret?'

Yuuji rolled his eyes, but in general, seemed in to have returned to his good mood. Perhaps never even abandoning it in the first place, 'Nah. I just took it down since I thought it would be in bad taste to let a girl-well you see I had posters of other women around.'

He shrugged his shoulders looking a little bit embarrassed, but not enough that he wouldn't continue, 'I just didn't want to make you mad or anything.'

She offered him a smile, 'I wouldn't mind. It's your room. You should be comfortable to have anything you want here. But now I'm curious. Is it a…,' she stopped talking realizing perhaps it wasn't right or decent of her to ask such a thing.

Won't he think I'm weird? She asked herself feeling her cheeks heat up not just because the room had a nice warm temperature, 'Uh, never mind.'

Yuuji blinked and stepped closer to her, 'No, tell me, what were you going to ask, hm?'

He wasn't as close as he could have been, but as always, his presence and close proximity did something nice, uncomfortable, and wonderful to Yuko's insides that was hard to get over or undo resulting in her lowering her gaze while feeling her face warming up even more and quietly whispering almost choking on the words, 'A…uh…pornographic poster?' She couldn't believe she had actually asked that.

'Uh,' she heard Yuji let out before he quickly took a step back shaking his head and raising his palms in surrender sounding just as panicked as she felt, 'No, no, just…in a swimsuit but it's not…like that. I swear!' he added a burst of nervous laughter to the end that only made Yuko feel even more embarrassed for bringing the topic up.

Ashamed, she turned her back to him and hid her face, 'Sorry, please, forget I said that.'

'No, it's fine,' he assured her quickly before she heard him move toward his desk, 'Here, let me show you. It's not a big deal.'

'I believe you!'

But it was too late, as Yuuji opened a drawer and pulled the poster out. For a split second, Yuko noticed that his drawer was quite a mess. No doubt because he simply tossed all of the items from his desk inside to hide them. The idea momentarily made Yuko smile before he unrolled the poster to reveal the American actress sitting on the beach. It was far more decent than what the brown-haired girl expected, but honestly, she forgot about its appropriation status together, when she noticed something else entirely.

Oh…she's perfect, she thought and felt a familiar clench inside her lower belly telling her she wouldn't be able to eat anything for a while. It was true. The image of Jennifer Lawrence sitting on the beach in her tight and small two-piece swimsuit was perfect. It wasn't really about the background or waves or anything like that, but mostly about how flawless her body looked. The woman looked like a proper goddess with her long legs, big ass, and wonderful breasts, but most importantly it was her beautiful clear and flat stomach that caused the poor Yuko to dip into the pool of her own self-hate before she could stop herself.

I'll never look like that. My body is ruined for-.

'It's…not that bad, right?' she heard Yuuji ask hesitantly cutting her train of thoughts midway.

Her gaze lifted to his face, and she caught the very clear reluctance there. Obviously, he took her lack of comment as a bad sign. Something she wished to undo quickly, 'Right, no, it's fine. You didn't really have to hide this. She's…beautiful.'

With her poor lying skills, it was no surprise, that Yuuji's brows remained knotted in fear and doubt, 'I don't have to put it up, you know?'

'Ah, but truly, I don't mind, Yuuji-kun,' she said quickly and smiled stepping closer to try and find a duct tape in the mess that was his desk drawer, 'I just remembered something. You don't have to worry about it.' It was partly true, but more than that, Jennifer Lawrence wasn't at fault here. She couldn't be blamed for what Yuko did to her body or how she felt about it now. Rationally, Yuko even knew, the real actress probably didn't even look like that and was mostly photoshopped into perfection, and yet, she couldn't stop feeling shitty about it all now.

With a tight smile, she found the duct tape and helped Yuuji put the poster back up, all the while doing her best not to appear too bothered by it, so she wouldn't ruin the mood any more than she already had. She would hate it if she was the reason, they would end today sooner or without actually doing anything.

Once the poster was up, and Yuko somewhat convinced herself she was fine, she clapped her hands and smiled at Yuuji, 'So? Which movie did you prepare for us?'

The boy with the pink undercut watched her for a moment too long, no doubt, wondering if she was truly right before he moved toward his laptop and started to prepare the first movie he had in store for her.

'We can sit on the bed while watching,' he told her and put his nightstand in front of the bed so he could place his laptop there, 'It's supposed to be a crime mystery.'

Carefully Yuko put her bag on his desk chair and came to his bed. She did her best not to panic or make it too obvious she found it odd to sit on his bed of all places, and since he didn't comment on her behavior she must have succeeded.

'What's it called?' she asked for a split-second subconsciously glancing at the poster they hung up a moment ago before she turned toward the direction of the laptop.

'Fargo,' replied Yuuji and gave her a look, 'You okay, Yuko-chan?'

Quickly the brown-haired girl nodded and smiled at him. It must not have looked great that she was sitting at the absolute edge of the bed, but now that she felt nervous again, Yuko couldn't help herself. She hoped with time, she would forget about the poster focus on the movie, and relax in Yuuji's presence. She didn't think it would be great for her back to sit at the edge like this.

If Yuuji didn't believe her, he didn't say, just turned on the movie and came to sit next to her. He immediately went to press his back against the wall next to the bed, and while the opening credits rolled in spoke, 'Come here. You'll be uncomfortable if you sit like that.'

She was beyond grateful that he noticed on his own and offered to sit next to him. Carefully, she slid her behind across his bed toward his side, much closer than she intended to, but before, she could move away, and make some appropriate distance, she felt Yuuji put his arm around her shoulders.

Yuko was sure the world around her stopped, or at least her breathing had as she remained frozen in place side-hugged by the boy she had been crushing on since middle school like this.

The motion officially trapped her by his side, but the shock was only momentary before she felt her body relax into Yuuji's natural warmth and the overall comfortable and lovely feeling of being held by him, 'This okay?'

'Very,' she admitted feeling her cheeks warm up for a reason other than embarrassment.

She sensed he was looking at her, but she wasn't yet ready to face him.

'Good,' he said so close to her ear she could feel his breath tickle her skin there. She liked it. She liked everything about the moment mentally dancing and shouting in happiness.

The movie officially started, and just as she hoped, Yuko soon forgot all about the poster for a good while focusing on the laptop instead. It was a good movie. Although she wasn't a fan of the genre, she appreciated a lot of things about it, and eagerly answered or commented on some things just as Yuuji did throughout the whole ordeal.

Every time she did, the pink-haired boy offered her a large smile looking really happy she was engaging. He always seemed to lighten up the most when pop culture was involved.

However, the problem arose around halfway through the movie, when as predicted Yuko started to feel extremely hot in her long sweater.

Stupid, you knew this would happen, complained her mind while her entire body started to feel sweaty and feverish. It didn't help that Yuuji's body was so naturally warm and close to her. She didn't want him to know she was going through this. She didn't want him to let go, but how was she supposed to survive another hour and something of this heat?

Her hand reached out and subconsciously touched her stomach, If only I didn't ruin it.

'You know if you want, we can watch something else,' she heard Yuuji suddenly whisper into her ear causing her to jerk a little too violently before she froze altogether.

'No,' she said tearing her eyes away from the paused movie and then at the pink-haired-haired young man by her side, 'This one is fine.' She didn't even realize when he paused the movie in the first place since she got so caught up in feeling uncomfortably warm and stressed.

He tilted his head to the side looking properly puzzled and adorable making her heartache that he cared so much for her opinion, 'Are you sure? You don't look like you like it too much, Yuko-chan.'

'That's not it,' she said and started to play with the bottom hem of her long sweater slowly confessing the truth unsure where it would take them, 'I swear, it's just…hot in here. I…I'm overdressed.'

'Aha, you're feeling too warm?' he asked and took his arm off her before he started to get up, 'I can lend you something to wear if you want,' he said, and much to Yuko's horror, he started to get out of the bed and toward his closet.

Without even noticing her internal freakout, Yuuji opened the closet, 'My shirts might be a little big, but at least they'll be loose and have short sleeves…'

Yuko's mind was racing. She couldn't imagine not wearing her clothes. She couldn't imagine putting Yuji's on, and would he see her? Would he leave the room?

Her stomach tightened, and she felt like it was closing once more, making it clear she wouldn't be able to eat anything for at least half an hour.

All of a sudden snatched the back of his shirt properly stopping him from saying or doing anything else, 'Please, don't, Yuuji-kun. I-I can't wear your clothing…uh, I have my own…I just…I can't change.'

He paused for a moment before he slowly turned around to look at her. It took a lot for Yuko to meet his gaze and when she did, she could clearly see the confusion written all over his handsome face.

Am I ruining it?

She let go of his T-shirt and instead started to nervously grab the hem of her sweater playing with the rough fabric a bit.

A moment passed before Yuuji returned to the bed casually bending his leg to lay it down while leaving the other one to hang out of the bed when he sat, 'Why not?'

She bit the inside of her cheek trying to come up with the right way to explain what was going on. It must have truly puzzled him that she acted in such a way. She felt properly ridiculous.

Lowering her gaze to her covered knees and felt like crying hating she was ruining their time together.

'Oi, Yuko,' she heard Yuuji say and carefully lifted her eyes toward him again not enough to see his face, but enough to see him open his arms, 'Come here.'

Her head shot up to her original height surprised by the gesture, 'Huh?'

His face offered her a calm, confident smile while his palms did a come here motion, 'Come on. Don't keep me waiting.'

Yuko blinked unsure what to do, but it was as if her body found it impossible not to move closer to the boy when he asked her like this.

Before she knew it, the brown-haired girl found herself in Yuuji's tight embrace when he put his arms properly around her, and his chin on top of her head. This close, she could not only feel this warmth and how solid his body was, but she could also hear his beautiful heartbeat. If she wasn't so stressed with her stomach aching so badly now, it was painful, she would probably be able to fall asleep to the sincerity of the moment.

'I'm sorry,' she mumbled against his shirt feeling tears gathering behind her eyes. This felt so stupid.

'Why?'

'I'm ruining…it,' she confessed quietly unsure if he heard her with how shaky her voice sounded so she clarified, 'The moment.'

'Hardly, a moment with you can't be ruined,' he said after a while making her wonder if he needed time to come up with it. She appreciated it all the same. It was hard not to find the boy lovable when he was so sweet and caring to her.

Her heart was probably the loudest sound in the room.

Carefully, he leaned back still keeping her close, before he brought one of his palms against the top of her head. 'Want to talk about it?' he asked unsure like he didn't want to spook her, 'Was it because of something that I did?'

'Nooo!' she shouted and shook her head quickly hating the idea that he might that he was the reason she was acting this way.

She sighed. Yuuji looked so supportive and understanding even if he had no idea what was going on. He was just the best, and here she was acting this way. It wasn't the first time, she questioned her value as his girlfriend.

'It's...me,' she admitted weakly.

She wasn't one hundred percent certain she wanted to talk about it. She didn't really know how to start without sounding silly or like she was fishing for compliments, but she still tried.

'I just...I have issues with changing clothes and my… body in general,' she admitted and shyly stepped away from his embrace to pull herself together and talk. She felt ridiculous for making an issue out of this and changing the atmosphere of their meeting. They didn't have enough time for each other and all she was doing was staining what they had with her insecurities and bullshit. She felt properly horrible about it.

She couldn't really bear to look at Yuuji's face when he was all sweet and caring so she rather looked at the ground and clenched onto her pullover harder, 'I'm ugly.'

'What?!' he shouted sounding shocked before he took a moment and readjusted his tone. He tried again this time sounding mostly dumbfounded, 'Why? Why would you think that, Yuko?''

She lifted her eyes to his. He always had such kind and happy eyes. He looked confused but at the same time eager to know how he could help her like he always had.

She shyly looked away, 'When I lost my weight after being fat for so long, uh, it left marks and extra skin all over. It…it's not pretty to look at.'

Yuji watched her speechless for a moment before he put his hands on her shoulders causing her to look at his face again once again making him feel pleased about their similar height, 'Show me.'

Her eyes widened, and she jerked, obviously not ready for that, but to her credit, she didn't step away.

Her face was on fire now as was his as Yuuji must have realized what he had just asked for, 'Uh, not like…I didn't mean it like that. I just…I don't think there's anything ugly about you. Your body and all.' The embarrassment over his suggestion definitely messed with his usual easygoingness and confidence, but Yuko still thought he was amazing for managing to speak at all.

Swallowing hard, she looked at the ground and squeezed the fabric of her sweater over where her stomach was hiding, 'N-no, I get what you're going for, Yuuji-kun. D-don't worry.'

'Thank God,' he whispered making her look at him. He looked properly relieved she had said that and when their eyes met both of them spontaneously laughed out loud.

The pink-haired boy with the undercut grinned, 'You don't have to feel bad about yourself with me. I think you're beautiful now just as you were back then. I like your body because it's yours, Yuko.'

His words shot through her poor heart almost killing her in the process.

Damn him, for being this easy to fall in love with, she thought and put her palm against her stomach, 'You're too kind.'

She glanced at her covered-clothing body, 'You're always too kind, Yuuji-kun.'

H-here goes.

Feeling she might never feel braver enough to do this than now, she took hold of her sweater and swiftly pulled it over her body and then head before carefully lowering it to her side, 'Uh, this is…me.'

I did it! I actually did it…wait! What have I done?!

Her eyes did a quick scan over her body. Thankfully, she had one of her nicer bras on so she at least didn't have to feel embarrassed about that, but everything else made her want to cover her face so she wouldn't have to deal with the look of shock and disgust on Yuuji's face even if deep down she had a feeling she wouldn't have to suffer through that.

Carefully, reaching for every little drop of bravery she could find, she lifted her gaze and glanced over at the boy in question at the same moment he took a step closer to her.

When their gazes met his eyes widened, and he immediately stopped, 'S-sorry, I know…you didn't say I could touch you. But…can I?'

Yuko felt her soul leave her body for a few seconds before she found the brain activity to nod.

Yuuji looked properly red when he took the last few steps toward her and took hold of her sides making her flinch from the temperature contrast.

It was so intense to have someone hold her like this. She was certain she would have fainted already if it wasn't for her rapidly beating heart and high blood pressure. Maybe she could have had a heart attack. However, the idea that an ambulance would come and find her without her clothing in a boy's room made her pray she wouldn't.

'Your skin's soft,' the boy mumbled, 'is it okay if I touch you some more.'

Yuko nodded several times hoping to sound more confident than she felt. She didn't mind Yuuji's touch. Not at all actually, but it was still an embarrassing experience all the same, 'You can touch me wherever.'

Yuuji let out a little whine in the back of his throat before he cleared it, 'T-that's a really serious thing to say…don't use it lightly.'

She forced her eyes to meet his, 'It's…okay if it's you, Yuuji-kun.'

She never saw the boy she liked look so red, but he still smiled at her like what she said made him extremely happy.

'Yuko, you-'

'Oi, Itadori-!'

Both Yuko and Yuuji froze as they heard someone knocking on Yuuji's door. Faster than a rocket, Yuko broke free from his hold and tossed her sweater back on while Yuuji rushed to the door.

He opened it in a way that would hide Yuko. The brown-haired girl didn't really hear what Yuuji said over the beating of her wild heart, but when the door closed she was sure he managed to chase the person away.

'Sorry-'

'It's fine, can we finish the movie?' she asked embarrassed that something like that happened at all.

Yuuji nodded, 'Of-course, but…are you alright? I didn't push you or anything, right?'

Yuko's eyes widened, and she quickly rushed to him, 'No, no, you didn't. It was…nice,' she was certain her cheeks were on fire.

'I'm glad,' grinned the boy. Somehow, they got back on the bed and finished the movie. The atmosphere had improved by a tone and by the ending credits Yuko even felt brave enough to put her head against Yuuji's shoulder.

Like a real couple, she thought excited.

They put on two other movies and by the third one, they even started to kiss a bit more. Overly, it was all nice and sweet, but when at one point, the girl felt Yuuji's heartbeat going faster than her own she felt properly proud and happy like she had achieved something amazing.

Unfortunately, their date came to an end, and Yuko needed to catch the last bus home.

'I'll walk you. It's dark anyway,' said Yuuji and went to pick up her bag. Naturally, the moment he did the bag fell on the floor and all its contents fell to the ground including the pack of condoms she received from her mother.

If she had any hope Yuuji somehow missed that item, his opened mouth and widened eyes crushed that hope immediately.

He looked up from her bag at Yuko who couldn't believe she was about to die from embarrassment again, 'Uh, my mom-'

'Cool-'

'-maybe next time?'

'You would want to?' asked Yuuji looking genuinely shocked and nervous probably as much as she felt. Slowly Yuko nodded and because there was no way she would be able to say anything else without stuttering or dying, she went to her knees and picked up her things.

Yuuji didn't help her, but he seemed pretty out of it.

When she rose back up, he snatched her hands in his and with a serious face told her, 'Yuko, thank your mom for me.'

WHAT?!
