Cattle

Summary:

You always had a close relationship with cows and other barn animals. You and them were basically treated the same way. Only made to be used by those bigger than you. You, an omega was expected to just give and give. Give strong babies and just give pleasure for the rest of your life or until you die of stress.

You wished it'll end, but yet fate had other plans for you

Notes:

Chapter 1: Dirt Roads

Chapter Text

Mess hall was quiet for once, yet it still reeked of alpha pheromones. The glands on your neck flared as they were stealthy attacked by the pheromones. You only wished to use the vending machine yet here you are. Curled up and vulnerable. You hurriedly mashed the buttons, eyes waving between darkness and reality. The can of soda stopped, making a huge thud.

You quickly grabbed it and ran out to the fresh night air. It was only 7 p.m but god, being in that suffocating place was horrible for not only you, but for your inner omega. The omega who was either dry-heaving or rolling around in her own sweat. You groaned as you took heavy breaths. Your eyes twitched a little as you walked away in shame.

The base was slightly quiet for the most part. Except for the occasional laughter and chatter that you’ll usually hear on a Friday night. You walked through the halls to see barracks rooms wide open.

Some alphas and betas were playing poker, one beta throwing his upper half to the ground and groaning. His friends giggling and snickered at him. You, unconsciously and unknowingly, had to stop and watch the scene unfold.

When one black hair male turned his head to the door, catching you red handed, You cursed to yourself and continued to walk. Not now. Not after what happened in the mess hall…

“Hey, Omega!” He called out. You’re telling yourself to keep pushing and get the hell out of here. The black hair male moved in closer to you. His friends or his pack mates popped their heads out, or at least one of them did.

The guy started to admit his pheromones in the air, his grin growing wider.

Tears start to tickle your eye sockets. Your omega decides to stop and smell the rose with this man. Rather than roses, it was smelling burnt gasoline and tires, charred forest pine and whiskey. “Yes? Is there a problem?” You said voice horace and quiet. The man tilted his head, grin pointy and mean. “Seems like you have a problem of your own. A staring one.”

How corny was that?

“Sorry, lost in my thoughts. I apologize if I came off a certain way...” You tried to walk away peacefully, back to the safety of your room, but the aloha emitted more nauseating pheromones and scents into the air. He stalked closer, hand on your waist. His grip is strong, and tenacious. Your eyes were glossy and sharp at this point. “I saw you staring pretty closely at my pack and well maybe, as their pack leader I should finally allow a pretty little omega like you to join us..”

The tears started to work their way down your cheeks. Your body started to shake and crumble, your sniffles loud. “No, thank you.” You replied back. Throat trying to hold your tears back.

“Aw! Why not? There’s no one here to protect you. You’re all alone and afraid, who’ll protect you?” The grime and dirt from his voice made you ache and crumble inside. “No, I’m okay. Now please just let me go-”

Your head hit the wall, the tiniest of gasps was squeezed out of your throat. Other betas hid back into their respective rooms, meanwhile alphas peeked their nasty heads or fully stepped out of their rooms. “Listen bitch, I don’t have time for games! Get the fuck inside the room!” He finally screamed, the facade of this nice alpha who only wanted to help finally broke. You were gagging and gasping for air. Your eyes fully widen as your weak legs barely even pushed the random alpha one inch.

Your own existence really meant nothing except for being a baby machine. Forced to either crane out more purebred omegas and alphas or apex alphas.

Your life was weighed in sticks in value.

You weren’t even mad. You’d rather die. Your last breath of air, being released from all the hurt and pain of the world as an omega. Your soul, hopefully flying to freedom. Death was always better than being an omega. Yet, oxygen returned to your lungs, coughing and gasping for air as much as you didn’t want too.

The alpha who was holding you was now laid there in front of you. Bloodied and moaning in pain. Above you stood a man with a skull mask, a ski like mask covering the rest of the face.  His knuckles were white,, clashing with the blood on them “Learn some damn respect..” He shouted before turning to the now cowering alphas. “All of you should be ashamed!” His voice made you a coward as well. You slowly stood up from the ground, walking backward.

“Hey girl, omega curfew is at 6 pm, remember that.” You jerked at his voice, turning around and nodding. “Off you go. Better not see you around here again. Take the dirt road next time.”

You wanted to gauge your eyes out and feed them to the bird. The dirt road of course. You could’ve chalk it up to the astronomical amount of alpha scents haphazardly stinking up the mess hall. Shouldn’t they have sprayed the place down? You were out late, an hour you might add.

You scurry your way to the omega side of the larger barracks. There sat Rose, peacefully  reading her book, her glasses barely staying on her face. “Out late? Again?” She said, You shuffle in your sweat shirt, flipping  the hood down. “I was thirsty okay?!” You whined back. Rose sighed, putting down her book and snatching the glasses off her face.

“You just won’t listen huh? I know something went down! I can practically smell it on you!”

“Says the omega with a colonel as her alpha AND husband…”

Rose grumbled in anger. “I know I’m safe but please! Think about yourself sometimes!”

Think about yourself. Thinking. Weren’t you just doing that now? You knew we were thirsty and so you got something to drink right?  You refuse to let an alpha. Let alone  anyone make you bend over. You’d rather die a sad life than be a lap dog for an alpha who can’t even protect him or herself against another person.

“I’m not falling back into that mindset again. You know that.” You stormed off to your room. YOur soda was definitely awake.  If you’d open it right now you might set something off.  YOu rested your head on the hard pillows they gave you. YOu rub your cheek against the pillow. When you tried to drift off to sleep. You remembered the cattle you saw on  the drive to the base.

It was the first time in months that you’ve seen cattle since you were dropped off at the facility. Cows, in many cultures and some religions, were looked upon as gods. They gave them milk.meat, and entertainment. THey help humans alive during the harshest times of humanity. And now, they’re meaning less in this day and age.

You always felt this special bond with cows. Ever since you’ve presented, you’ve felt like straight cattle. Yet omegas brought life into the world, bringing their own form of peace. And yet, in return they gave you trauma, distress and a world not even worth living in.

“You’re only here to regulate them, ” They said. “ To bring the alpha and beta pheromones down with your own.”

Straight cattle in broader terms.

You closed your eyes tighter as you tried to not focus on the past or six weeks ago.

This was your new life now. Best to just deal with it. Say, it could be worse. You cloud bounded with a n alpha like the one in the hallway earlier. An alpha who only sees omegas as pleasure or baby slaves for his pack. But, if this was better than being a slave, god forbid you found out what worse was.

Your head’s gears started to slowly stop moving , its function heading into rest mode. Eyes and vision are fuzzy. Lights shimmer dimly as they blink in and out.

PRice grunted as he pushed himself back into his seat. Laswell sighed, fingers playing with the buttons on her jacket. “KNew you wouldn’t take it well.” She huffed. “But I think you’ll find it better to have her around, not just from a tactical standpoint.” Laswell went to the corner of the room, opening the slightly rotting file cabinet. The clanking rang as Laswell flipped through the files.

“What’s the reason for all of this anyways? Know you're not just adding an omega to our pack just for shits and giggles.” Price asked, still visibly upset but still slightly curious. “Updating the law. Doing it in the states as well. Suppose to bring in more security for omegas. BUt with the world we’re living in, I highly doubt it..” Laswell picked up a red marked folder.

“Damn right…Simon said he caught a few alphas and his packmates ganging up on a poor girl”

Laswell slid the file to Price.

His eyes glossed over the flie, your name and last name displayed on the top part of the folder. Your picture is hanging, clipped by a simple paper clip. “She is a beauty, but I don’t see her being ours. A pretty girl like her deserves better than us.” He said, sliding the folder back over to Laswell. Laswell stopped the folder from going any further. “No, read it. You’ll like what she has under her belt.”

Price grumbled something before opening the file. Your name, date of birth, where you went to school at, race, age, gender. Everything was in there.

“She's an omega from a facility?” He asked. Laswell nodded. “I knew Ghost would want someone to bond with over that.” Price hummed as he leaned further back into his chair. “Good record. Can fight, or as much as they could teach in that slaughterhouse of a place.”

“That's why I think you guys would be the perfect fit for her.” Laswell chuckled softly. She sat from the side of Price. She rested a reassuring hand on Price, “She’d be in safe hands with you. I promise. You guys take care of each other so well, I believe you can do the same with her.”

“She's gonna be on the field?” Laswell shook no. “Look, this is bull crap Laswell, we don’t need her.”

“You think I’m forcing this on you? This is just a message from the shitheads from above. You’re lucky I’m picking a nice omega out for you.” She grunted at Price. Price sat still, not fazed by her intimidation, but still listening to her with great intent. Price thoughts were moving as usual.

This omega.. is certainly a huge risk.

Would she disturb the perfectly flowing dynamics, or help it move to the next level?

Would she cause a dangerous shift in the pack

Would everyone truly accept her?

The ideas and outcomes are an infinite gold mine in Price’s head. But doesn’t matter? Not like he has a choice. Nor does she.

“Fine, when we’ll take things.”

“Not like you had a choice.”

You woke up to loud and consistent banging on your door. You moan to yourself as you let like out a small

 “I’m coming…”

You wiggled your feet towards the door to see a wispy blond haired woman. The crows feet near her eyes, curled as they looked at you. You immediately recognized her. You gave her a weak smile. “Still tired?” She asked, walking past you and into your room. “Yes Ma’am I am. I apologize.” Laswell sits on the edge of you bed, admiring your room. “Seems like you got the time to decorate your room. Probably the coziest place on the base.”

You really took advantage of the freedoms here. Maybe not as much freedom as you hoped for, but more than back at the facility at least. “Thank you.” You said, giving her another weak smile as you start to change into something simple. “May I ask why you’re here?” Your question being muffled by your shirt being dragged over your face.

Laswell fumbled with her fingers, visibly worn out by age and time. “Well, it’s nothing go I suppose.” You turned to her, shirt finally over your head after struggling for a while. “What?” You mumbled softly to her. “Let’s just get it over with.Your being moved to a pack.”

The word pack echoed in your ear. You whimpered to yourself, your instincts reacting heavily to your strong emotion that were being pumped through your body.

“Please no! I-I can’t be in one. I’m not fit for that!” You stammered. The tears in your eyes fell so quickly. Laswell stood up to you, resting a hand on your shoulder. “Listen, I picked you to be with a very strong pack who’d love you a lot. They’re trust worthy alphas and betas.”

You hiccuped and cried to yourself. You don’t know them, they may not want you and start horrific acts. They might scruff you, hurt you and use you in way you can’t even imagine. “Please don’t do this to me..” You pleaded to Laswell, grasping on her jacket. She shook her head no, the guilt preventing her from speaking. “You’re not the only one being sent. You’d be put in a group of other omegas like you. And you’ll be highly guarded if something happens.”

“I thought I was here for scent regulation.”

“Me too.”

“When will I be leaving?”

Laswell furrowed her eyebrows. “No, you’d stay here but since they want to see how the dynamics would form immediately so nothing bad would happen, they want you to meet them today.”

It was a lot to unpack. Meet them today? After all this painfully information on you. The stress could be smelt through the walls of the omega dormitory. You didn’t want fear to over consume you and make you fall into distress. But all this really reminds you of what you were thinking about yesterday.

“I’ll give you some  time to process it all. I’ll come by and pick you by 12pm.” Laswell left the door with a little crack. You flopped down on your bed, the duvet and sheets curling under your weight. You sort of cried as you realized your situation was practically pointless. You wanted to curl into a ball, and just cry. You were tired of this back and forth of your body and second gender. You wanted to just live a happy life either by yourself or with just one person who would love you for you and not just because you're an omega.

But I guess that is too much to ask for…
