Work Text:
Ding.
The elevator doors opened to the top floor. It was just like any other day, come into KaibaCorp and work until night fell. Kaiba Seto stepped out with a briefcase in hand ready to conquer the world.
“Good Morning Kaiba-Shachou.” His secretary greeted bowing before reciting his schedule. It was going to be another busy one with status updates from the California KaibaCorp branch and KaibaLand.. “Um, you have a package… I signed for clearance and placed it on your desk.” The brunet’s eyebrow rose. “I… had our security examine it, all is clear.”
“I wasn’t expecting a package today.” He grumbled. “Right, I’ll deal with it. Get back to work, I’ll let you know when I need you.”
“Yes sir.”
Kaiba opened the door to his office and closed the door. His cobalt eyes glanced around before finding its target. There sitting on his desk was a vase full of blue flowers. It took him aback for a moment before he moved towards it.
“God Pegasus thinks he’s so clever–”
His eyes narrowed as he gazed at the stationary.
It wasn’t from the fruity man after all.
“To my baby blue eyes~”
With a little doodle of a certain dragon, the brunet immediately knew who had sent him the package. The very notion of being the receiver of flowers never came to mind. A small scoff escaped his lips, his eyes bore into the card like fire.
It was strange.
With a sigh, he turned towards the clock before settling down. He would ponder about this gift later, not when he had important matters to settle. Reviewing security details and the additional repairs to attractions.
The package wasn’t a threat at least even though the burning questions lingered in his mind.
He turned towards the flowers again, jaw clenching once more.
Even so, this was going to be a long day for the CEO.
Kaiba Seto made a note to visit wanting answers.
A yawn escaped your lips as you plopped onto the couch in your home. Staying overtime at work made you pretty worn out. At least you were now on a mini vacation to make time for yourself. With popcorn to your right, you reached out to start a movie. It was one of your favorites.
It was nice to finally be able to relax after a grueling week at work.
A knock on the door rose you out of your thoughts a while later. You paused the movie and stood up as the knocks became more insistent. How odd. “I’m coming! Hold your horses!”
Opening the door your face lit up with a grin as the stern face of your boyfriend came into view. It was rather sudden, but you wouldn’t put it past him to come unannounced. “Seto!” You moved to the side to allow him inside your apartment as you closed the door. “Nice to see you.”
A slam to the wall next to you made you blink.
“Seto…?”
“What’s your deal?” The brunet growled, eyes boring into your confused ones as you tilted your head. “You left something in my office today.”
You blinked once more wondering what he was talking about. A package. You went to work today, you didn’t so much as go into his office knowing how busy this time of year was. Though realization hit you as you strained your brain to think of what he could be referring to. “Oh~ You got my package.” You nodded. “The delivery guys didn’t screw up, great to hear! Though I suppose there was a bit of a delay, but considering how busy the shop was when I ordered, I guess I should have known.”
His eyes narrowed as he clicked his tongue at you. “Why?”
“Well when I went to order the bundle they warned me that I’d be on the backlog but hey awesome you managed to get it anyway.” It only took them a few months, but at least it was successful. You wouldn’t let him know that at least, your boyfriend would probably chew them out for the lack of agency.
Seto gritted his teeth and moved closer. “Not what I was asking. Why did you send me flowers?”
“I mean… You buy me flowers, I wanted to buy you flowers. Simple as that.” You shrugged.
“No, there’s always a reason… Don’t play dumb…” The man was used to people asking for favors with strings attached.
Even though you were his lover, the stigma stemmed deep within him.
You blinked wondering how to convince him. “I just wanted to give you flowers, Seto. No big deal, they reminded me of you and I wanted to share that with you. I didn’t expect the delivery to take as long as it did, but–”
“I’m the one that’s supposed to give you flowers, not the other way around.” A growl.
You pouted. “Everyone deserves flowers, even the infamous Kaiba Seto.” Taking a step forward you leaned forward, even standing on your tippy toes, to boop his nose. “Doesn’t matter who, it’s the thought that counts silly.”
Seto grumbled. “Don’t do that.”
“Or else what?” You winked. “Seto, you’re being very silly. If I want to give you gifts, let me. You’re important to me.”
He scoffed. “What made you think that was the best gift?”
You rolled your eyes. “Didn’t you read my card? The flowers are named: Baby Blue Eyes. Perfect name for you and your precious dragons right?” You chuckled.
His eyes flashed in recognition briefly before his jaw clenched in embarrassment. He thought the greeting was preposterous, but he judged as he saw it.
“You’re my baby blue eyes, Seto.”
The man twitched. “How could you say that so… easily?”
“Would you rather me just call you “Blue” or even “Baby”? I can do either.” You taunted, enjoying his disgruntled look.
Cobalt eyes narrowed before snatching you by the waist. “You think you’re so clever.”
A smirk. “I know I am, baby–.”
His lips crashed into yours, effectively silencing you and pulling you close. When the two of you broke away, you felt winded. It was just like him to kiss you so quickly and be back to his smug self. He knew how to push your buttons.
“Call me that one more time.” He snarled.
Your devious grin only widened further. “Okay, baaabe.”
“Fuck it.”
You made a note to surprise him with more flowers next time.
