Work Text:

It was a moment—just a moment worth of locked eyes and staring—but it sparked something in Toga that was already burning in Ochaco.

Toga was walking in the hallway, and it was crowded. Almost everyone had to go to a different side of the building, so there was unorganized traffic. She was being thrown to the left and right, and she couldn't stand it. What was their problem? Not even sorry, I should... Her thoughts trailed off. She promised her mom she would stop thinking like that.

Like she was a maniac.

A doctor even diagnosed her; that's how weird she was. But she couldn't control her thoughts sometimes. As she got shoved around, she looked around the hallway, seeing if this current could bring her to her class, until she locked eyes with Ocahco. She was just another person who pushed and shoved people in her eyes, but when she locked with her, her big brown eyes and her brown bangs that only she could pull off, her mind changed instantly. She was wonderful in Toga's eyes and beautiful; she wanted her all to herself. How could someone this beautiful be right before her, and she didn't even know it? She barely remembered her name. How could she already want her to be only for her? It was impossible.

As she entered the classroom, she couldn't think about anything other than the moment's worth of locked eyes with a girl she didn't even know—who does that?—she thought as she took a seat, but she couldn't push the thought out of her mind until all thoughts stopped and one slipped through.

I love her.

These rude people, Ochaco thought; I mean, do they have no patience and kindness? Someone could get hurt in here, and no one would help them, even though I couldn't help them myself in this torrential downpour of traffic. Let's at least try to look around. That way I can try to help. Some-  She had locked eyes with Toga. She stared at her for a split second, even though it felt like an eternity of heaven, her blond buns splitting out in some parts, her small amber eyes that made it look like she hadn't gotten sleep in days, her fair, pale skin that made shivers run down her spine. They looked disgusted when she told the first person that she liked Toga. They thought it was horrible. She liked Toga. “She's weird,” “She's evil,” “She's crazy." "She's a maniac; if you know what's good for you, you're going to stop, to stop this." Those were all things people would say about Toga. But she didn't care. She liked the crazy side of her, the side that looked crazy enough to want to do something weird like drink her blood; she would let her; she wouldn't think it's weird if Toga wanted it. She would do anything for Toga, even though her manic side made her hotter.

She was obsessed with Himiko Toga, and it showed.

She stared as she couldn't peel her eyes away, as she soaked in everything about her. The toga she wanted so badly, the toga that was hers in her dreams, the toga she wished she knew enough to call her Himiko, and the toga she thought about every day. The only part of the day that made her feel alive was when she could see and hear Toga, and anytime there was anything remotely related to Toga, she was obsessed with her from head to toe. She had such a deep affection for Toga, so much that even her subconscious thoughts always trailed back to Toga; somehow the love of her life, the love of her dreams, always made its way back to her. Even if it was only glances in the hallways or sitting in English with Toga's beautiful face in her view. Even if she could only think about her, or if she could see the color yellow, or more specifically, the color amber, like her eyes, her sweater she always wore, or her hair, which was messy in a way only she could pull off. If she could only get the courage to ask her out. They stared until Toga got pushed away by some rude guy. He was probably an average guy with an average name who probably didn’t even mean to do that, but she hated him with deep hatred. He had broken their eye contact, and that was unforgivable. That was the first time she had locked eyes with someone so beautiful, so wonderful, like Himiko Toga, the only one she loved and wanted.

As she shuffled into 7th grade advanced math, she thought about her “relationship with Himiko. She sat in the back corner right by the window, like she always did, the window that showed the front of the school, where she would now imagine the girl saying yes, she would want to date her, but fantasies had to stay fantasies as she snapped out of her little daydream being interrupted with a loud…

“Toga What’s the square root of 99875 compared to 397.77 squared?” He said with a tone of irritation, which was soon followed with an ocean's worth of annoyance in his tone as he said, “HIMIKO TOGA ANSWER." He said, now getting really irritated, she then finally snapped out of her daze, which was more like a deep thought about Ochaco, even though in her fantasies she was called the stunning girl.

"Whoops, sorry, I don’t know.” She said she didn't care about her class. I mean, who would care about their class when they just had an interaction with someone they had just fallen head over heels for?

"Toga, that is unacceptable; there is no way you weren’t listening for the whole 15 minutes, where we worked on 4 pages worth of notes. That's a lot to make up just because you weren’t paying attention. You know that this is going to be important, and you're going to use this every day now.” He said, “To continue the process, you have to multiply x by..." He had kept on talking, but Toga had gotten so bored she stopped listening again. Mr. Steel was boring, strict, and frankly weird; no one in their grade liked him. She just couldn’t focus; it was like she was entranced by her…

She had locked eyes with Toga; she was beautiful. How could anyone look at K at that? She knew she was head over heels if she couldn’t even find the words to describe her; that’s how in love she was, she heard.

"Alright class, this is a very important day, so make sure to listen up. Your test is coming up soon, so you really need to focus. The test is coming up soon, so I'm going to post an exercise and... He kept on talking, and Ochaco couldn't stand it; she was too lost in thought about Himiko Toga. She was entranced by the way she looked at her, the way she had stared; she didn't know if she was looking at her like she was the dirt on her shoe or a goddess she worshiped every day, and it was driving her crazy. I mean, who even is that obsessed with someone? I mean, sure, she might be hot, but she doesn't even know my name, and I don't even have enough courage to even talk to her, so what's the point? Except the point was that she loved her and nothing would stop her.

"Ocacho, sweetie, are you ok? You seem less focused." Ochaco was shocked; she had totally forgotten she was in class, and she was supposed to be focusing on her work and her test, on anything but Toga, but she couldn't stop herself as she replied.

"Sorry, I was just thinking I'll try to focus more, Mrs. Rhea." She was embarrassed; she had let it slip out that she was thinking. Obviously no one knew about who, but in her mind, everyone knew she was consumed by the thought of her Once the period ended, Toga and Ochaco had English together. For Ochaco, it was like cloud 9 when she could look at her manic crush. For Toga, it was like a newfound utopia. But she hated her seat. She would have to turn her head to look at Ochaco, and she didn't want anyone, especially her, to know she was looking at her.

Once Toga had walked into English, she quickly sought out Ochaco. She looked around, praying she was already here and she didn't have to wait. But to her dismay, she had to kill time in her seat and hope Ochaco would walk in the door soon so she could see the person she loved the most and she could stop only having to think about her and marvel at her beauty. Even if it was only for a split second before she had to walk to her seat, even though she had “just met her,” which in reality she didn't even meet her. They just locked eyes for what felt like a eternity  and she didn't  even know her name she decided when she saw her again she would ask for her name when she saw her she wou- her thoughts were interpreted with a beautiful goddess walking through the room in reality it was just Ochaco but in Togas eyes she was the best thing to happen to her as she walked in front of her desk as she peeked at her she was mesmerized how could someone be so attractive she stood there carrying her LA notebook and textbook her chromebook in her hands if she had been focusing she wouldn't had have dropped her stuff but she didn't go to pick it up she stared the way her sleepless eyes looked at her was captivating as she stood there getting lost in her golden hair shimmering in the afternoon sun her pinkish lips drawing her in she felt her shirt getting tugged as she got pulled down face to face with Toga Her heartbeat quickened as she stared into her smirking face.

She couldn't control herself; she wanted to see her up close as she grabbed her shirt and pulled her down face to face with her and her breath on hers as she stared at her. Their eyes locked; they could feel a few people staring, but she didn't care as long as Ochaco didn't. She looked at her for a second longer, soaking in everything about her as she said, “What's your name?”

Ochaco’s brain had stopped; everything in her mind was broken, screaming at her to do something, but she didn't. She stayed there, staring into her eyes. She was lost until she heard something that broke the silence, and her “What's your name?” she had said. It took her a minute to process the fact she was talking to her. Himiko Toga was asking her, Ochaco Uraraka, what her name was; she then instantly said, “My name is Ochaco Uraraka. What about you?”

She was stunned. Her voice was sweet and succulent. She could live off of that sound only for the rest of her life. She was engulfed in the way she talked to her, the way she said her words, starting some parts high or low, the way she articulated her words. She was in love with Ochaco Uraraka and everything about her. She then replied, “That's a wonderful, wonderful name." Ochaco, my name is Toga Himiko, but call me Himiko. Why don't you meet me after class? It is the last period." To her, the thought was shocking. They had been in the same classes for their entire lives, basically childhood friends, even though they never talked to each other. Even though it was the middle of the school year, she had still never talked to Ochaco in her entire life.

Ochaco was shocked at how confident Toga could be as she listened to the words run off of her tongue without thinking. She instantly said, "Yes.” She was shocked at her own words. Why had she been so... aggressive? Fast? Then, without warning, the bell rang again, signaling anyone else who would come to class would be marked late.

“Shoot, well, see you later,” Toga said while smirking. As she said that, Ochacho snapped out of her trance, and she hurriedly gathered all of her things as she power walked back to her seat, red like a tomato, as she sat at her desk, head down, trying to cover her face as best as she could.

“Oh my god, I just talked to Ochahco what is even happening," was the first thought that came to her mind as she tried not to look like a cherry berry herself. Mrs. Midnight walked into the room as she told them.

"Alright, class, today we were going to write your own stories. We’ve been collecting ideas for the past few days; now it's time to choose one and start going. What's going to happen is I'm going to give you complete freedom with this project. You can do whatever you like as long as it's appropriate and over 2,000 words. You could do a poem story, a texting story, a comic book, or anything as long as it's over 2,000 words.”

Toga quickly pulled out her notebook. She had just come up with this idea, but if she put it in her notebook, it would still count as an idea she could use, just as she scribbled down “Romance story Mina x Kiri." In reality, the story was just going to be a journal about her and Ochacho, but she had just changed the names in the story. She was Kiri, and Ochacho was Mina, but did her teacher need to know that? No, as long as she made sure the plot of her love life and her grammar stayed good enough, this would be an easy A+ for once in her life. As she lifted her pencil from the paper, the teacher said

“No writing in new ideas; either those don't count; you have to work with the ones you gave yourself; it's good practice for writing essays with prompts.” As Toga froze in her place, she opened her computer slowly, then shrugged, saying she had finished writing it before Mrs. Midnight had said that.

So, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so Technically, it's an idea I already had, and I already had it; I had it a minute ago, so I'm fine.

Shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot. What do I write? I can't think of anything besides Toga... Toga... THAT'S IT! I’ll just write a story about me and Toga since I can't seem to get my mind off of her as she quickly penciled in “Anonymous love story.” She then heard Mrs. Midnight say the part about writing something in, but she couldn't care. The drive of wanting to tell the world about how she wanted everything about Toga to be hers and hers only was too great, so great that she couldn't hear anything else as Mrs. Midnight was talking the day away. Ochacho was stuck on the look Toga had on her face the way her chest heaved with every breath she took and every tap she had placed on the ground using her foot gentle and slow each tap more loving than the last she knew this was stupid how was she making Toga tapping her foot on the floor romantic but she couldnt stop herself she felt entranced in Toga  the way she felt was amazing like she was as light as a bubble floating through the air like the world was pure bliss and she was in the middle of it she coud feel her heart rate quicklining as she kept on sgtaring she could feel all her worries slipping away as she fell into euphoria feeling like her heart would pound out of her heart and eyes like the world was iiuminating around her she felt like she could go on and on for hours but she couldnt as she was sucked baack into reality with theclicking of everyones keyboards their hands moving fast spilling their ideas on the document strining every word together like it was as easy as breathing she looked at Toga for a last seond savoring the feeling of her look nd missing the fact she couldnt hear her soft heartbeat which was once a soft rhythem but now she didnt know what it could possible be as she just held her heart in her hands and started writing pulling every letter togeteher to create a sotry unlike any other as she felt her grasp of time slipping away she stared off into the distance feeling her hannds moving on their own writing something that wasnt her own as she let her mind slip off to Toga as she lookedover changing her view from the window to her she stared at her blond mess of hair as she smiled softly she couldn't believe she had the luck of being able to be with toga being able to be in the same class same school same country same planet same timeline she could go on and on in her mind as her hands did something completely different until she was brought back to the reality with the realization that her hands had been  moving on their own as she looked back at her computer she smiled softly realized she had just been putting down all of her thoughts her hands moving on their own like they were their own person with their own minds as she looked back at the screen determined to do what she planned to do in the beginning of class she looked at the word count and saw the number shoot up from what she believed to be a 0 all the way up to a shining tall 3080 (that was word 3080 :)  ) She was jaw-dropped. Her thoughts had been moving so fast she hadn't been able to focus on correct spelling or anything else. She couldn't blame herself, as she wasn't even focusing on her writing, only on the future love of her life. As she felt the bell ring, signaling the fact that everyone could leave their classrooms and go home, she packed her things up as she looked out the window for the last time and then picked her things up, walking in front of Toga as she smiled at her.

"The front of the school? Ok!” She paced her way to the front of the building, ecstatic about what could be next but also scared. Could it be that Toga was going to say something like, Oh, I don't like you; please don't ever talk to me, or something stupid like that? She got to the front of the building, leaning against the tall pole that was one of the supports for the arch. She thought about it. It could be turned into something inspirational, something about how "your parents are the pillar for your life, your support,” or something stupid like that, or something about her parents, but she was seriously done with inspirational quotes. She just wanted the arch and pillars to mean the arch and pillars, nothing else, nothing stupid for her right now. Everything was stupid; nothing mattered. nothing except Toga

Oh no, no, no, no, no, why did I ask her to do that? That's so stupid. This isn't some shōjo manga. She isn't going to wait for me to clean up. We were coming from the same place. I should have just asked her to wait for me. Shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot. Toga's mind was running a mile a minute as she was regretting every aspect of her life. She quickly tried to clean up and work her way through the mountain of people that were in the hallway as she tried to reach her locker once again. Staying still, she hoped the current of people would be fast enough to carry her back to her locker until she locked eyes, the hazel spirit embedded into the round eyes full of hope. As she stared into the eyes, she was confused. Who is this person, and why are they so She cut her own thoughts off at the realization that it was Ochacho; Ochacho was coming back. But why? Did she forget something, or did she want to grab something from her locker before she saw Toga? She was confused. Her mind put all brakes on trying to find her locker as she saw the slightly tanned hand slim and the nails painted a light pink reaching out to her. She paused for a moment, stopping all movement until, before she could control herself, she reached her hand out as she brushed her fingertips.

Soft was the first word that came to their mouths as she reached out, desperately trying to catch the other's hand until they brushed fingertips again and again until they managed to catch the other's hand. When they caught a hold of the other's grasp, they pulled the other closer, pushing everyone else out of their way as they fell into each other, meeting in the middle as their hands flew around the other as they hugged each other like they were old friends who hadn't seen the other in ages. They gripped the other like if they let go, they would be blown into the breeze of the soft summer heat. The other people waddled around them as they latched onto each other when they pulled away. Toga said

“Why did you come back, Ochacho?”

“I wanted to see you.”

Toga was shocked. Ochacho wanted to see her. Why? What did she want to come back for? She didn't say anything like, "Oh, I wanted to see where you went; you were taking a long time." But she actually wanted to see Toga

C'mon, Ochoco, you can do this. It's only 5 minutes that you have to wait. You can do it. You were fine before. You don't have to go see him. Ochoco cut off her own thoughts as her legs started moving towards the door to go back inside she wanted to stay there and wait for Toga to come out to not seem so desperate to see her even though she wanted it more that anything in the world as she got to her grades hallway she kept on trying to convince her legs to take her back but they wouldn't budge as they powered forward she went along with them she looked around for Toga in the torrential downpour of people coming through the hallway she looked around her head turning so fast she got whiplash until she locked eyes with a messy golden bun then another as she stared at Toga  like a freak she could feel her eyes widening and her pupils dilating heck they were probably heart shaped right now as she stared at Himiko Toga, the most perfect girl in her eyes, as she stared, could feel the wind coming from Toga's direction. As she turned her head around, locking eyes with Ochacho, she could feel the amber gaze boring into her own eyes until she felt the gaze soften and her eyes widen without thinking. She reached out her hand too, and she could feel the tension in the air thick enough to cut with a knife. She could see the way she reached for her hand and the way she tried to pull herself towards Ochacho through the barrier of people trying to stop them from connecting with each other, but in that moment nothing could stop them from getting to the other as she felt the soft hands grazing hers for the last time before they embraced each other, squeezing the other as if someone was going to come and take them away if she didn't. She held Toga like it was the only thing she was meant for. As she slowly pulled away, she heard Togas's voice, sour but beautiful, ask her.

"Why did you come back, Ochacho?”

Before a logical thought could come through her mind, she blurted out in full emotion and honesty, “I wanted to see you.”

She could see the hesitation in Ochacho's voice the way she paused and tried to recollect her thoughts. She looked like she was in disbelief as she then managed to sputter out a shocked, flustered, “Really?” This time Ochacho really thought about what to say; she didn't want to make a fool of herself for like the 30th time today. As she thought for a minute, she smiled at Toga as she replied with an honest, sincere

"Really." She was happy; you could hear the smile creeping in through the voice as she hugged Tooga without warning again. She squeezed Toga as she motioned her to her locker. The hurricane had cleared, so it was a free walkway for them to walk to Togas's locker.

As they got to her locker, she punched in the code on the little digital pad. The locker flew open as she smiled and said

"Sorry, could you give me a minute?" She seemed like a completely different person, like she was trying to be a nice person for Ochacho so she could impress her or something along those lines. She smiled back as she decided she wanted to make an effort to impress her crush too, or maybe she was the only one trying, but in reality she didn't really mind that being able to have any sort of connection with Toga was all she could ask for, as she replied with a hearty

"Sure, of course.” She watched as Toga kneeled down to the bottom of her half locker as she started throwing the stuff inside. She looked inside her locker; it was messy and unorganized. It was the exact opposite of Ochachos; hers was nice and neat as she was a really neat freak, but Togas was messy, and it looked like it was about to burst at the seams. As she started, she couldn't hold back a giggle or two as she heard a

"Hey, don't laugh.”

"I'm not laughing; it's just that your locker is so messy.”

"So what if it is?”

"It's funny because mine's the exact opposite of your locker.”

"Really?"

"Really!"

Ochacho was happy; she couldn't believe that she was talking with Toga and not embarrassing herself. It really was a feat because she had a crush on Toga; every time she saw her, she could feel her palms getting sweaty and her mind racing, but she couldn't ever bring herself to talk to Toga. But now it was a different story. She was talking to Toga, and she was being smart and doing something good for once (related to Toga). She was lost in thought, revising every word she had spoken until Toga broke the silence with a deafening

“Hey Ochacho, I'm sorry, I just realized I have something to talk about tomorrow, ok?”

She was heartbroken; she couldn't believe what she was hearing. She knew it wasn't Toga's fault, and it wasn't even a big deal, but now she would have to wait a whole day to hear what Toga had to say to her. She wanted to cry right then and there, but she knew she couldn't, as she quickly replied, making sure she didn't get lost in thought and get stuck in a cycle.

“It's ok, Toga, don't worry." She had to think fast; she had to come up with an excuse to try and still be able to talk to her today—something that would keep them in contact until the thought hit her like a wrecking ball.

"Could I get your number, though? Maybe we could talk before school tomorrow instead of after school?” she was jumping for joy inside as she figured out a way to Talk to Toga and get her number she just killed 2 birds with one stone she then gave a smile that was as sweet as sugar as she looked over at Toga now standing in front of her mesmerized she could feel her gaze setting on her hair and suddenly the fact that she hadn't taken a shower today but yesterday was killing her suddenly her haircut was the worst in the world and suddenly everything about her was wrong, imperfect, but that's not what Toga thought she could feel the hearts in Togas eyes as she looked at her mesmerized by her hair and everything about her as she stared at her back she herself then fell into the daze that was Toga, but more like Togas air as she stared into the golden locks she was astonished by her she wanted to spend her days running her hands through the amber waterfalls until she managed to snap out of it she was getting better at doing that as she stopped staring at Toga she continued with

“So what do you think?”

Toga then managed to snap out of it herself as she replied quickly with an

"Of course, here are my numbers: 319-283-7465.

"Ok, thank you; my numbers are 319-192-3645. Well, I'll text you later, Toga. See you!” She walked off down the hallway as she quickly took a right. She then dashed down until she reached the stairs. She let out a breath she didn't even know she was holding.

Oh my gosh, I just got Himiko Toga's number. Her thoughts were going nearly as fast as her heartbeat, and she was breathing heavily. She couldn't believe what had just happened. She instantly whipped out her phone, wanting to text Toga immediately, but then she stopped herself.

I shouldn't seem desperate. I’ll text her in an hour.

She placed her phone back in her pocket as she started walking back to the stairs as she started jogging down.

(Timeskip: when Ochacho and Toga both get home.)

Toga got home as she was pacing around her room, insects on the walls, and vials of every different blood type on her dressers. As she did not pay any mind to her “weird room,” as she was pacing around thinking about how dumb she had been, she wanted to throw herself out of a window as she regretted not talking to Ochacho there when she had the chance when Ochacho had less of a chance for changing her mind.

Goddammit, why did I have to lie to her? I could have just told her straight up there, but no, I just had to go and tell her I was busy when in reality I had nothing happening at all. She sighed as she sat herself on the bed. She wondered if she should text Ochacho, telling her she was free, but she checked the time at 5 pm.

She's probably calling some of her other friends or doing schoolwork. I shouldn't bother her when she probably is sick of me. She flopped back onto the bed as she sighed again. She didn't even know why she was having these periods of holding her breath and letting it all out at once, but she didn't really care right now. As she lay down, she thought about the work she had to do when she had to continue her fanfiction before her fans bombarded her comments. She sat up quickly as she grabbed her computer, going onto Google Docs and writing.

UGHHHHHHHH, WHY ISN'T TOGA CALLING OR TEXTING? I DON'T WANT TO SEEM DESPERATE, BUT I JUST CAN'T GO ANY LONGER WITHOUT HEARING FROM HER. She whipped out her phone as she rushed through putting in the password and going to the phone as she was about to call the contact saved as

"Toga”

She changed her mind and decided she should talk about this with someone before she made some stupid decision that she would regret for the rest of her life, so she went to FaceTime and called her friend Tenya. She clicked the button and wept in her own sorrow.

What was I even thinking calling Tenya THE TENYA IIDA THE DUMBEST PERSON WHEN IT COMES TO ROMANCE as she was about to end the call and say

"Sorry, I accidentally called.” She saw Tenya pick up the phone as she saw his dark blue hair on the screen fighting to try to find out how to angle the camera. She knew she had screwed up, but she realized she couldn’t back down then, as she said.

"Hey Tenya, I have something to ask you.”

"What is it, Ochacho, are you ok?”

She could see the worry on his face, even though she could really only see his hairline. She started to worry herself too; had she really called the right person?

Anyone else would have been perfect for this except Tenya... and Todoroki, but that wasn’t the point; the point was she shouldn’t have called Tenya, but she was in too deep, and she couldn’t back out.

"Yeah, Tenya, I just need some advice.”

"About what?”

"…Romance"

"Oh! Well, then you came to the right person.”

She knew damn well she hadn’t gone to the right person, but there wasn't anything she could do about it now.

"So… There’s this girl; I think she’s in some of your classes; her name is Himiko Toga, and... (her 30 minutes of talking about Himiko), and that’s. Why do I like her? She’s amazing, don’t you think!?”

"Ochacho, you should really stop thinking about her. She doesn’t sound like someone good for you. She sounds crazy. You should really just be focusing on your studies.”

Typical Tenya. She could have gotten better advice from a wall, and that was saying something. She knew asking Tenya was a bad idea, but she didn’t think it would be this stupid to just ask Tenya for some advice, but heck, was she wrong?

"Thanks, Tenya, but I have to go bye.” Shoot she could see hear smell taste and feel the amount of monotone blandness in her voice she knew that Tenya was going to feel bad but before she could say something with more emotion and conviction in her voice her finger led itself to the red X button as she saw the last flash of Tenyas face it returned to the message screen she stayed there for a minute contemplating everything that had happened how she had wasted the last 30 minutes of her life she flipped over on the bed as she sighed she really should have called Mina she wasn't that good of friends with her but the famous “MINA ASHIDO YOUR PINK HEART ROMANCE GIRL” she couldn't tell why they had even chose that name it sounded corny but she would have to call her if she wanted to escape the mess in her mind as she punched in Minas number she clicked the call button and almost immediately she heard a

"HEY SKBIDIII”

"Hi Mina, it’s me, Uraraka.”

"Hehe, well, you called from the romance advice number, so... what’s up!”

"It's… a girl… and I really like her, but... I’m not sure if she liked me back, and so I called Tenya before thinking, and then I ended up with a horrible piece of advice.” She knew she had vomited the last part, but she couldn’t help herself; she just wanted to get the advice over so she could think about it, and she could get whatever nonsense Tenya said out of her.

"Oh, sweetie, I know it's a girl, and I know it’s Toga; you don’t have to hide it from me.” Even though on the phone they could see the others expressions, Mina could see the shock rush over her face like she was right next to her, and Ochacho could see the sly look creeping onto Mina’s face as she replied with a loud and unexpected

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN? YOU KNEW IT WAS A GIRL, AND HOW DO YOU KNOW IT'S TOGA?”

"sugar plum I don’t know how to tell you this, but the entire school can tell from one glance, but I have a tight schedule. You're lucky you called when you did. I already have 10 other callers on hold, but... for you, I’ll give you, however long you want, this seems like an interesting story.”

"INTERESTING. WHAT DO YOU MEAN!? … Well, I should start with the reason I like toga. Is because (a whole lot of talking later)... and that’s why I think she’s perfect, so what do you think I should do?”

“Well, to be honest with you, you're really stupid, Uraraka.”

“WHAT? WHY?!”

“Well, it's because I can't believe how love-blind you are.” Mina sighed silently behind the screens, though it wasn't a sigh of annoyance; it was a sigh of relief. Sometimes she just needed a break from actually having to think and give good advice so she could keep on doing this, but when she had people who were just love blind, she could just tell them what to do very easily.

Ochacho had to take a minute to think what could Mina possibly mean by love blind. Was there something wrong with the way she thought, or maybe she didn't see the full picture, but all she knew was that she needed to know what Mina was thinking when she said that she had to take a minute to think before she replied with a soft but urgent tone, “...What do you mean, Mina?

Mina had to giggle before she said this; even if she didn't do it instinctively (she did), she would still do it on purpose because this moment was perfect for it as she quickly replied, not wanting to lose the moment. “Toga obviously likes you; by the looks of it, she started liking you today when you locked eyes in the hallway.”

“You really think she likes me? I mean, I'm really bland.”

Mina sighed. She knew it would either take one word for her to convince Ochacho or an entire hour for her to work her magic, but she continued, “You’re not bland, Ochacho; what you are is stupid.”

“Heyyyyy”

“I call it like I see it.”

Ochacho thought if Toga really did have a chance of liking her, she could ask her out; she wouldn't have to live off of delusions; she could finally be free from waking up at 3 am and crying because Toga wasn't right next to her. Ochaco Uraraka had a chance with Himiko Toga before thinking she hung up the call, and she called Toga until she realized how stupid it was. She wasn't prepared to talk with Toga, but it was too late as the echo of the rings filled the room. It was as if she could feel the sound waves bouncing across the room until she heard the little beep signaling that the call had connected. The silence felt like it was her fault for calling it her fault for existing, her fault for everything, then a little voice, a slow and sweet tone, brightened the room, dim how it felt magical, like the light shining from the moon.

“Hello?”

Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no WHY IS OCHACHO CALLING ME? SHE CANNOT BE CALLING ME. I'M NOT READY. Toga was panicking. Why was Ochacho calling her? Had she done something wrong? Was she in trouble? Did Ochacho hate her? Her thoughts were running a mile a minute as she stayed there for a minute, the ringtone she had already set for her, but now it seemed like it was the worst sound on earth, but before she could stop herself, her hand gravitated to the phone, and she clicked the little green button with a phone on top of it as the little buttons popped up, the little stopwatch clicking upwards with every second, and she realized she had to say something as she said the first words.

“Hello?” the call fell silent again only the soft hum of her fish tank empty but still buzzing with life she didn't know why but she liked the sound and it felt wrong to get rid of the tank after er hermit crab had died so she kept it running in the background it never really seemed loud to her but until she heard the silence of the call then filled with the sound of the fish tank he didn't know what to say or do did she butt dial her  should she call again or should she just leave it there hoping that Ochacho would answer her or say something there were a few minutes of silence that passes nothing to be heard except the soft hums in the background she was about end the call she doesn't want to stay on call with Ochacho when she wasn't talking I mean why would I stay that's just being creepy i'm not going to stay im just going to end the call and get this over with. If she doesn't have anything to say to me, it's not her fault or mine. I shouldn't have even gotten worked up; I shouldn't have wished or anything. As her finger was an inch away from the little red button, she heard her voice through the phone. It didn't seem real at all. She could feel the light of the sound rushing in through the phone. She could feel the bubbles in her room that weren't there, the way her heart inflated like a balloon. She felt like she was in some sort of shonen manga, like the phone was magical and blinding her with a light, but in reality the room stayed the same, not brighter or darker, no bubbles or anything. The sun was magical, and the curtains weren't magically flowing. The stuff in her room stayed where it was, and she didn't start floating, but to her, that's what it felt like to her as she heard

“Hey, it's me, Ochaco. I don't know if you have me saved or not.” What did Ochacho even mean? Of course she had her saved; how could she not? She was the best person in her world; why the heck would she not save her number? But that didn't matter right then and there as she replied with a

“Yeah, me neither. I don't know either. I thought you might think I was some sort of weird scammer.” Now it was Ochacho's turn to question Toga in her head: what did she even mean? Why wouldn't she save the wanted love of her life’s number in her phone? It was the first thing she did when she was out of Toga's sight. But now she needed to tell Toga to meet her right now, right then, right there; there wasn't any time to be a soft coward.

“No, I have you saved, but are you busy?”

I'M SORRY WHAT COULD SHE POSSIBLY MEAN SHE HAS ME SAVED? OK OK, NOT THE TIME. “Yeah, I'm free right now. Why?”

“I have something important to tell you. Could you meet me at the park?” Ochacho then, in that one second, regretted everything she had ever done and every noise she made. WHY WAS THAT SO FREAKING SQUEAKY? I'M NOT A DOOR HINGE?!

Toga was stunned. She wanted to meet her; this was her chance for messing up back at the lockers for telling herself she “needed another day,” like I did not need another day, but now's the time to jump at the chance to see Ochacho again. I have to do it—no backing out, no NO BACKING OUT, ARGHHH.

“Yeah, 5 minutes is good for you?” Now it was Ochako's turn to panic. In 5 minutes, she could get to the park in 5 minutes; heck, her house was next to the park, but how could she get ready? She was in a ratty shirt of her favorite singer, Hizashi Yamada, and some pajama pants that needed to be washed. The moment she heard the words through the phone, she immediately sat up and started changing, getting a little bag ready and making sure she looked “dateable” or whatever that meant to her. Before she forgot, she responded to Toga, regulatingher tone to make sure she didn't sound like a whiny 5 year old child who wanted an Ice cream

“See you soon” she paused before she decided if she wanted this to happen she had to do the most she could to make what she wanted to happen so she continued but thi time instead of saying Toga like she alway did she changes it up calling Toga something she had never before

“...Himiko”

SHOOT GO GO GO GO YOU'RE ALREADY LATE MOVE YOUR BUM BUM Ochacho was running down the street in an attempt to try to salvage the time she had already lost she had taken way too much time getting ready and try to look to good good for Himiko but she had lost track of time she thought she had,she really underestimate how unatheltic she was. As she dashed down the streets not caring about her hair anymore all she wanted was to get to get to Himiko as she charged forward through the narrow roads twists and turns all the passageways she could think of to get to her faster faster thats all she needed to see her face her body her hair all illuminated by the golden sunset shining brighter the midday sun she looked at the sun as shespeed through the area until she ran into the glossy fields overpowered with the green grass softly blowing in the wind as Himiko was in the center she was waiting a little pink skirt with an cropped white shirt and a little bow in the middle a long skirt, ruffles flowing down to her ankles a little yellow cardigan to pair it all off she looked at her face lightly brushed with makeup but that wasnt what surprised her the most it was the way her hair flowed in the light breeze it was let down the short little cuts would look horrible on anyone else but on himiko…It looked surreal you could see all the layers assorted with different shades of blond she looked heavenly in Ochachos eyes like she could be an angel herself before she could stop her- you know this time she wasnt trying to stop herself she dashed full speed of her own free will as she was mere inches from Himikos face she dropped the little handbag she had brought with her on the grass not caring about the grass stains that were going to be on the bag, those could be easily washed out, but the memory she was about to create could never be washed away from her memories as she was about to close the distance between them both Himiko had gotten to her first rushing her hands trough the short brown bob as she pulled her forwards locking their lips together a second of confusion was shot through Ocacho until she relaized what had happened before her train of thought could start flying into the sun she kissed back slowly slowly tangling her hand into himikos hair until she pulled away and before she could say something smart the question that had been lingering on her tongue slid out like black ice

“How many have you kissed?”

“Not many.”

“But you gave me a kiss. Why?”

“I just wanted to kiss you, I love you Ochacho.”

“I love you too Himiko.” for a few precious moments they stood there in silence together taking in the sun and the way it shined on each other the way they stood there not daring to break eye contact basking in each others presence until Toga broke the silence

“Think I'm cute?”

“The cutest girl in the whole world.”
