Chapter Text
Once upon a time, in the darkest depths of the Extraction Department, two high-ranking agents sat bored as all hell after the rest of their team was killed off by [CENSORED] yesterday. They were severely traumatized by both the death of their closest colleagues and the sights that it had brought. The two would never be the same ever again.
The one dressed in a full set of Blue Star's E.G.O sighed heavily, juggling her weapon around. “...I want Manager to execute me already.”
“No way that's ever happening...” The other, dressed in Mimicry, waved a hand dismissively at his colleague. “You think he's gonna pass up on some fully trained agents instead of our daily dose of killed off clerks?”
“I heard someone overdosed on HP ampules in a crowded elevator once.”
“...That's just rumors, mate.”
Sadly — would've been 'thankfully' on a nicer day without the thoughts of [CENSORED] and [CENSORED] — the two were not given any work today. It's as if Manager knew that the more suicidal of the two would purposely fuck up a work result just to wreak havoc and die while doing it. This is how we got where we are now.
“Wanna let a couple abnos loose?”
The Sound of a Star agent was about to throw one of her balls into the other's face, but stopped herself for a moment to actually consider... Both of them are going insane, it seems.
“...Why?”
“Why not?”
“I mean... nobody got fired just 'cause they tried to get them out while they panicking.”
“Yeah, you get it.” The Mimicry agent smirked. “I heard some abnormalities get real pissy and can actually fight each other. Ain't that cool?”
“Don't wanna deal with any more WAWs than we already do on a daily basis, the only ones that have real beef are—”
“Nahhh, let's do a... TETH and a HE.”
“Okay, genius, who'd you have in mind?”
“Hmmm... Well, I thought Forsaken Murderer would be easy to get out and Funeral of the Dead Butterflies is right next to him, sooo...”
“Oh, heck yeah, I wanna see butterfly man in action.”
“No one's working with Forsaken Murderer these days anyways, ain't he lonely?”
“Heard from a friend of mine who'd worked with butterfly man often that he and the big guy communicate with each other through the wall actually.”
“Ohhhh, I bet they have some drama to fight over.”
“I know, right?!”
It seems that the two agents' mood went up significantly as they continued chatting about the weirdest things ever. Little did they know, the two abnormalities were much less conflicting than they had thought.
[UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO "HE" LEVEL CONTAINMENT UNIT in BLOCK 02, SAFETY DEPARTMENT]
The Sound of a Star bearing agent looked around again as she hesitantly pressed her ID card into the door lock. “You sure he's not looking?”
Meanwhile, the Mimicry agent stood prepared near the containment unit right next to her. He shrugged. “If he is, Schadenfreude's gonna get out. Whenever anyone's working on it all the cameras around 'ere turn off most of the time.”
“...Huh. Neat.”
“See, I'm smart!”
“Not smart enough to bet on the HE before I could. It's literally resistant to RED damage too, they never called you over to suppress it.”
“I'm a man of low rolls — if there's a chance, there's always a way!”
“Sure, cope however you want to.”
With a couple more glances back at the hallway and the elevators on the sides, the two employees opened their respective containment units wide open, smirking. Once the doors were open — thankfully no warning was given out to the rest of the facility, shoutout to the forever lazy Sephirah of the Safety Department — the duo immediately ran off to one of the elevators, giggling like little kids draining all the toilet paper down the shitter and getting away with it.
The elevator doors closed down and, sure enough, keeping them slightly ajar, they could notice red lights light up in the corridor connecting the containment units of the Murderer and the Butterfly (One named Meursault since one employee being the Captain of Safety Team was a big fan of one novel and the other lovingly named Gregor after a pet roach one of the agents over at Training would adopt from an odd crack on the wall. That roach would later die by freezing in Ice Queen's containment unit by the way, whoops)
