Chapter Text

Marian's slender fingers were wrapped around his younger cousin's wrist as he dragged him effortlessly towards the pub, despite his slimmer figure in retrospect to the other who was much more fit, he did have broad shoulders but not a real muscly man he didn't have much time or interest to go to the gym.

Davos was blabbering some excuses just to go home and relax on his couch with his cat.

"Oh come on grumpy, I heard there's gonna be a new band playing tonight."

Davos’ blue eyes lit up looking back and meeting Marian’s brown ones, the shorter male knew how to spark the curiosity in his cousin's chest, his face remained skeptical though: Marian's taste in music was very different from his and Davos didn't want to end up bored with just a beer in hand.
"Oh don't make that face." Marian scoffed as he rolled his eyes brushing his short wavy black hair out of his face.

"You're gonna like this one okay, they make covers on one of your favorites." He smiled as he saw the little boy in Davos’ eyes scream in joy.

“Is this why you aren’t working tonight? Just to take me here?” Asked Davos brushing his short wavy black hair out in a mess, a habit of his when he tried to calm himself from excitement, Marian could only hum as they came closer to the pub.

"God i can't fucking wait-"

"Yeah yeah, a thanks would be appreciated."

Mumbled Marian slightly annoyed as Davos laughed in his face, opening the black wooden doors of the pub, the smell of beer and the chatter of people sitting at tables or stools, filled both men's senses, they stepped inside and greeted the bartender asking for two beers as they sat down on two stools side by side.

Davos looked towards the small stage scanning it to see the instruments displayed on it, his eyes met a not so noticeable figure moving in the dark, they were fixing something by the drums as they spoke to another figure who was hiding behind the curtains.

"Well, well grumpy guy fixing your eyes on someone's ass already?" His cousin asked jokingly as he leaned back on the counter, his legs crossed and beer in hand, he raised up one of his thin eyebrows eyes fixed on the stage too, Davos shook his head smirking back, hand on his own chest as he dramatically spoke:

"How could you accuse me of such crime my good old cousin, I would never do such a dishonourable thing-" he got punched on the shoulder by Marian, his lips murmuring some swears towards him; Davos laughed as the lights went off and silence fell upon the crowd.

The guitar started playing its riff by the hand of a woman with long brown hair falling on her shoulders, her pale skin started to shim as the lights slowly came back, her right hand stroking delicately with the pick the chords, her other hand moving so lightly to get the right notes, then she stopped the riff with a pause, a whimper came out from the speakers the drummer started playing with a hit on the crash as the guitarist and bassist accompanied. Davos’ blue eyes landed on the figure of the now visible singer, a young man with light brown long enough to arrive on his shoulders, his pale skin was brought out by the light behind him, his piercing green eyes not focused anywhere particular, he parted his lips open.

And god

that soft like raindrops voice brought a shiver up his spine

It also struck something in Davos’ stomach but not like a knife would cut the meat nor as a sudden pain but as something warm and craving, it bubbled inside continuously, his entire attention was on the man, him only, with his beautiful voice, his pretty eyes slightly open as he poured out his heart singing the lyrics, the bassist and drummer helped with the backing vocals, he was quite impressed by how delicate and soft their voices both were although they were ecstatic as they played their own instruments but to Davos they weren’t just as soft as his, but he didn't care he could only focus on that beautiful man.

Now drive me faaaaaar, away, away, awayyyyyyyyy
FAR (away)
I don't care where just FAR, away
And I don't care

Davos’ eyes widened, the scream and falsetto were fucking excellent he loved every single moment of it, it really felt he was seeing Deftones live again, his mouth was open from disbelief, he could feel the beer slowly becoming hot from his warm hand but he could care less he was too concentrated in the music.

The moment of silence where the guitar vibrated was a moment of distraction for the singer, who noticed Davos’ curious eyes, he smirked at the black haired man, he grabbed the mic confidently and screamed the lyrics into it.

FAR (away)
I don't care where just Far (away)
I don't care where just Far (away)

As the music faded out their eyes locked again this time Davos was then one to smile but as the singer was about to smile, there wasn't the time to process as the drums started another song with a fill, and the guitar and bass started playing another riff, soon followed by the singer’s soothing voice.

Hey you, big star, tell me when it's over

The bass and drums went hard as the singer finished the first line, Davos knew this song by heart, and oh he was happy, this was the most powerful song and it made him want to scream out all his anger as the drummer made the last fill he beamed with joy at how powerful it came out.

Hey you, big mood, guide me to shelter
`Cause i'm through when the two hits the six and it's summer

The brown haired singer lifted up his hand pointing nonchalantly towards where Davos and Marian were sitting.
"Fuck his voice is hot." Davos heard Marian loudly say as he was just as mesmerised as his younger cousin. The singer had started swaying his hips as he took a breath and screamed, it was powerful and it bombarded the room hyping up the crowd as they all started chanting back "shove it, shove it" with the drummer's backing vocals, Davos was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't notice the song was almost over until his cousin bumped into him, he chanted too like the rest of the crowd.

The shade is a tool, a device, a saviooorr
See, i try and look up to the sky
But my eyes burn

Voice low and almost a whisper he lightly moved his hand into the air as the people were mesmerised by him, Davos saw those green eyes stare at him languidly, he covered them as he said those lines but the sly smirk still plastered on his face as he sang in the most intoxicating way possible.

Come (shove it)
Shove (shove it)
The sun (shove it)
Aside (shove it aside)

"It feels like you're under a spell, fuck, how does he do that." Marian, who was still beside him, had a mix of a concerned and amused face.

"Doesn't seem like you mind tho."
He jokingly smiled looking at him up and down, Davos just realised how desperate he looked, he tried to focus on the other members of the band: he could see the bassist, also a young woman, move on time with the song, the drummer had sweat on his forehead making his also brown hair stick to it, his movements were fluid and powerful, every hit on the snare was precise and as he used the crash with expert hand, Davos could see the tongue sticking out in concentration. The guitarist sang the backing vocals with the other two men in the band, she was going full chest with it and her fingers on the handle of the guitar moved fast without missing a note.
Davos casually pointed at the drummer and elbowed his cousin.

“That one might be of your likings then.” Marian looked at him with a big grin and leaned close to Davos’ ear.

“The guy gotta be fucking good at sex then or i gotta pay you.” Davos laughed loudly as he looked at his cousin in shock and responded back.

“Go slow tiger, you don’t even know his name!” Marian raised both eyebrows as if telling his cousin something, he turned back towards the stage as he mimed with his mouth ‘watch’.

Oh and he did notice, Davos noticed, the drummer's eyes were also fixed on them just like the singer's, but he was watching Marian.
Marian pulled the beer bottle close to his lips before sticking out his tongue and licked droplets falling from the top, it was amusing to see, Davos hid behind his hand the smug grin plastered on his face, he looked at the stage, the drummer took a shaky breath, he looked away flustered and bit his lip. Marian turned his back to the stage, chuckling as he asked for another bottle of beer.

"Oi oi don't drink too much, I'm not bringing your ass home."

"Oh but you won't have to, pretty boy over there will."

Davos rolled his eyes as he snatched the bottle from his cousin's hand. "Then don't drink, you have to remember if he was good or not." Marian laughed, taking the bottle back from Davos’ strong grip.

"You really want that money uh?"

"That too, yeah."

------------------------------

Well in the end Marian did keep his promise and he didn't drink any other beer, but he still wanted something else to drink so he had bought a coke and somehow it went through the rest of the performance, which for Davos was a roller coaster of emotions and he didn't know if the sweat on his forehead was caused by the teasing of the singer towards him or by how hot the pub was, maybe both but he was too caught up with the entire show that he didn't notice it until it had ended.
When the last song was played the singer thanked everyone that had come to see the show.

“Thank you to everyone, for coming tonight! It’s a pleasure to see such a big crowd in such a small pub, as they say the smaller the place the better to catch--" Everyone laughed as the singer continued his little speech--- “so, i think it’s our time to go home.”

There was a generous chorus of ‘no’ by the audience. Someone raised their hands and chanted to do another song. The singer looked at the guitarist, she started playing another riff, the drum started with a soft hit of the crash followed by rhythm on the snare and the bass started too

“THIS ONE'S FOR YOU ALL MOTHERFUCKERS!”.

I'll never be the same, breaking decency
Don't be tree trunk, don't fall on my living roots
I've been humming too many words, got a weak self esteem
That's been stomped away from every single dream
But it's something else that brought us feaze
Keep it all inside until we feel we can't unleash
I think that you made it up, I think that your mind is gone
I think you shouldn't have glorified, NOW YOU'RE WROONNGGG
SUCK

Marian cheered with the crowd, his fists in the air, they all chanted ‘suck’ following the singer like little ducklings, Davos was amused by the charm the entire band evaporated.
Who were these random dudes playing so majestically in such a small place?
The singer screamed in the mic: he jumped up and down on beat pointing at the crowd, the crowd was up from their seats and was jumping with him as he continued to sing. As the rhythm calmed he walked on the stage circling the other members.
He turned back to the audience and pointed at the audience then directly at Davos, the mysterious guy’s green eyes piercing through his soul, Davos froze in place at the sudden declaration of being watched.

Because your punk ass made it up, your fucking mind was gone
Should've never glorified, NOW YOU'RE RIGHTT
SUCK
THEY FUCK WITH MY HEEADDD
SUUCK

The instruments stopped playing, the singer came close to the edge and whispered in the mic

You don't know me, shut up you don't know me
Squeal like a pig when you BIG FUCKING BIG FUCKING, AAAHHHHH

The pure scream made Davos jump up from his stool; that scared Marian but the older pushed him towards the stage where the rest of the crowd was.
Davos stepped closer and closer where he could see him better, that strange angel with such ethereal voice, the light coming from behind the man made his silky hair stand out and his skin glow and now that he was closer he could see the freckles on it.
Davos was mesmerised, is this what they mean by love at first sight? Davos didn’t mind though he knew that the man in front of him was someone he wanted to talk to and be friends with or maybe more; Davos chanted like all the people around he was ecstatic, he had never enjoyed a show so much from a small band.

When the song ended both cousins sat back on their stools panting like they just ran a marathon, Marian's eyes were spreading excitement as he looked at Davos’ ones, he was more than just satisfied with such a performance.

“Again thanks to everyone– the drummer played a soft rhythm followed by the bass and guitar– I would like to also thank these amazing performers, at the drums Finnard!-- the crowd cheered– on the bass Lyara! On the guitar Astrid!” The crowd cheered even more, Lyara screamed in the microphone.

“A BIG APPLAUSE TO AERON OUR AMAZING SINGER!” The crowd exploded at the mention of the singer’s name.

“Oh so that’s his name uh...”

Davos mumbled to himself as he finally finished his first bottle, he turned to the bar once again, his guard now down, not too worried about his surroundings and as he was about to order a second beer, a flock of soft brown hair invaded his vision, making him realise who was in front of him.

“One blonde beer.”

Oh yeah it was him,

Aeron,

that mesmerising angelic face looked at him with a smirk and playful eyes.

“Enjoyed the show, pretty boy?” Aeron was leaning against the counter, elbow propped on it and his body was facing Davos, his shirt was slightly up and was showing his freckled pale stomach; Davos swallowed bringing his gaze back up looking through the other’s green eyes, though he couldn’t speak, somehow his throat suddenly dry.

“He lacks words when he's around handsome guys.”

Marian answered for him with a teasing smile directed to Aeron, the younger man chuckled, his eyes unfocused on them for a second, he looked past them, someone walking towards them:
It was the drummer, that somehow dried his hair from the sweat and changed shirt, but as he neared, Davos could see some similarities making him think that they were possibly related in some way, although Finnard had softer features and much more curlier hair and Aeron had a stronger jaw and more pronounced nose and hair straight of light brown, their eyes both green but one surrounded by a brown ring and the other a pale green.

But anyway, Davos was brought back to reality by the sudden appearance of Finnard in his field of view.
Finnard had whispered something into Aeron's ear making the other man giggle.

“Well, well you got yourself some friends uh?”

Asked Finnard as he looked him up and down with a sly smirk, Davos smiled gently.

“We were actually chatting on the performance.” Aeron's eyes looked slightly shocked from his sudden speaking.

“Hmm and did you like it?” The shorter man asked.

“Oh I'm sure my cousin enjoyed it as much as I did.” Davos smirked, the two pairs of green eyes now focused on the man behind him, Marian feeling eyes on him, looked up from his phone’s notifications, his face quickly turning red when he saw the drummer standing there with the singer and his cousin.

“Hm, said something?”

“He asked if we liked the performance.” Davos looked at him with a knowing glance, Marian felt small under Finnard's gaze but with fake confidence somehow he blurted out:
“Magnificent, are you some kind of witch Aeron? Because I've never seen a singer take the attention of everyone around them.” Aeron giggled at such compliment he had a bit of rosy cheeks which were noticed by Finnard's gaze, he didn’t look happy, Davos snickered behind his hand as he watched the shorter man look at Marian with want in his deep dark eyes.

Just to make him even more jealous he leaned closer to his cousin, showing a full sight of his chest since his shirt was open, Marian knowing him well and his intentions leaned forward his v neck shirt slightly falling down, he put his hair behind his ear as Davos’ lips came closer and whispered some stupid words just to make him laugh.

Aeron bit his lip to hold back a smirk as he looked at Finnard's reaction to such scene in front of him, and he was pleased to see his jaw clenched and eyes dark in jealousy, Aeron lightly tapped him with his elbow and mimed with his lips ‘make your move’.

Finnard cleared his throat and the two Blackwood cousins looked back at them snapping out of their little teasing game.
Davos’ gaze was teasing, his facade as the shy guy crumbling away, he had raised an eyebrow.

“Anything you handsomes have to ask?” Aeron had moved away his gaze trying not to smile as he sipped on his beer, to then lick his lips, Finnard on the other hand hummed smirking as he looked up and down at Marian's body.

“Instead of eyefucking me why don’t I buy you a drink and maybe we can chat a bit, how does that sound?” He responded back, leaning on the counter trapping Aeron, maybe as a warning that he wasn’t going to escape so easily.
Marian smirked, locking eyes with Finnard.

“How about--- he started--- I buy you something and we leave these two to themselves?” A smirk plastered on his face as he watched the man think about it, as if his answer wasn’t already yes.

“Alright, alright, may I ask for your name then?” Finnard responded as he left Aeron's side and moved towards his prey.
“Marian, quite the pleasure.”
They moved away from their respective relatives as they ordered their drinks chit chatting on god knows what, Davos watched his cousin for a moment just to see where he would go, then looked back at the man still standing next to him.

“Shall i also know your name or are you gonna keep it a secret?” Aeron said as he took a sip of his beer, Davos hummed then moved on the stool where Marian had been sitting.

“Take a seat you’ve been standing all night, you must be tired.” As the other man sat he exhaled a sigh of comfort, the bar stool's cushion felt like the softest bed he had ever slept on.

“It’s Davos.” Aeron opened his eyes looking at the other smiling.

“You and your uh-”

“Cousin.” He responded, the other nodded still sipping on his beer, Davos’ eyes lingered over Aeron's figure he watched his adam’s apple slowly move as gulped down, small beads of sweat were still rushing down from the aftermath of the show on his neck, dipping down under his shirt.

“So…” Davos started “...How good is your brother at sex?” Aeron suddenly choked at the bold question the other man had asked, he locked eyes with the other and started laughing.

“What kind of question is that??” He kept on giggling, making Davos smile, he leaned closer to Aeron.

“Come onnn, I'm serious, I kinda need to win a bet.” Aeron laughed even more he had to set down his glass predicting he was going to spill it if he kept it in his hand, fanning his eyes he tried to make his tears of joy go away.

“Oh my that is the weirdest reason ever to ask that question, I can say to my displeasure that my cousin had me have quite a few sleepless nights.” Davos snickered at Aeron's exasperated look.

“Would you consider having me over if they are going to fuck?” The brown haired man asked, leaning closer to Davos, their eyes interlocking both knowing exactly what Aeron meant.

“Mmmmh maybe I could consider having a handsome singer over at my house, under one condition though.”

“And what is that?”

“Do you like cats?”
