Work Text:
He doesn’t know how much time has passed.
It may have been hours, weeks, or perhaps time itself had stopped just on that van, but kept going for everyone else.
At first, the imp could hear the chatter and laughter in the distance as Verosika’s song burst through his radio. The joy of the people he screwed over accompanied by those very specific song lyrics were such a good fucking match that he couldn’t help but think this had to be some kind of sick joke.
But even though it had been written about him, Verosika’s song would still play on the radio, had he been there to listen to it or not. And even though he was the subject of the gathering, those people weren’t laughing at him. They were just having a good time.
It was a party after all.
Understanding the facts rationally wasn’t enough for Blitzø to make sense in his head as to why he couldn’t for the life of him tell how much time he spent there. It felt like he was trapped in a loop, with all that damned day’s events repeating themselves over and over: The garden, the fight, the apology tour, the party, the song, the tears, the talk with Verosika, the kiss, the expression on his face…
Blitzø slightly shook his head, refusing to finish that thought.
Back on the time loop we go, but now reverse it.
The kiss, the talk with Verosika, the tears, the song, the party, the apology tour, the fight, the garden, the hurry, the love ballads, the desperate memes, the sleepless night, Loona’s worried expression, the tears, the fight, the crystal… the confession.
“You don’t have to stay here with me, but I want you to.”
“Thank you, Blitz. For awakening me… for making me so happy. Even if only for a little while”
“I didn’t realize you think so low of me”
“Goodbye, Blitz”
Silence.
Now, there was a lot Blitzø wouldn’t verbalize. Almost nothing, if we’re being completely honest. Thinking the words was already hard enough, now saying them out loud was a fate worst than any type of medieval torture on someone who would rather spend their entire life pretending as if they don’t feel a thing. It’s easier that way, for sure, but that is going against your nature as a living being. To be alive in this world is to feel — and Blitzø was still breathing.
The pain in his chest wasn’t news, it had been aching ever since the full moon, but now it was excruciating. The heartbeats were so loud they made all the noise outside of the van go numb. No screeching drunk demons. No music. No van horn. It all went away, leaving nothing but that goddamn sound that was making Blitzø go deaf. He grabbed his shirt, as if he was trying to open his chest and tear that thing away. Maybe trade it with the heart on the cake so someone could eat it and make it stop.
Blitzø didn’t usually let his emotions get to him this way, especially outside of his house, but it was out of his control. He was hyperventilating. He could picture nothing in his mind but Stolas’ hurt expression moments before he was teleported out of the palace, and man… to say that it just hurts a lot would be an understatement.
That pain was tearing him apart.
While he was trying to gasp for air, Blitzø heard repeated knocks on his window. He looked up for the first time in Satan knows how long and the horn that must’ve been going on forever has finally stopped. That forced him out of his head and made him recognize his surroundings. His eyes were wandering and his head was dizzy, but his breathing began to slow down. He looked at the window to see a middle-aged human lady, with sleek short dark hair, who was wearing nothing but pink. She had a baby on her arm (and was holding it upside down?) and a very angry expression. A bit disoriented still, Blitzø pulled the window down.
“Look dickhead, I know your drunk ass may think it’s funny to honk on that bitch for two hours straight on Halloween night, but I’m warning you that trick or treat time is over and the little fuckers are trying to sleep. I have way too many kids, so either you stop that bullshit right now or I’m bringing them down here so you can have a taste of what it’s like.” The woman said it all in one breath, and it miraculously made Blitzø calm down.
He was still sad, don’t get me wrong.
But now he was sad and pissed.
“Calm the fuck down, lady! Christ on a stick.” He pressed the temples on his head. “Your voice is screechier than the fucking horn, isn’t that why your little shits are having so much trouble sleeping?”
The lady came closer to Blitzø and now they were staring at each other face to face.
“Listen here you half-painted face little shit, if it was up to me I’d be at home right now passed out after drinking thrice as much as you did in that STD spreading orgy you call a party, but I’m a mom making a difference and I can’t count on Grandpa to do shit without his hearing aid, so it’s up to me to make sure the kids get a nice night sleep and you better fucking cooperate or you’re showing up on tomorrow’s missing people list.”
Blitzø grinned. “Oh, don’t worry, you won’t get to move after I’m done punching this ugly ass mascara out your fucking face you crazy bi…!” As he was getting up on his seat and about to throw a punch on the woman’s face, they were stopped by a pink hand on the lady’s shoulder. As the mom looked back, they both saw Verosika, with a polite expression Blitzø wasn’t used to seeing on her. Probably because around him she was always either smug or angry.
Well… and after tonight, sad.
“Excuse me, ma’am. Hi! I’m the host of this party and I am so sorry for the disturbance, and…” She looked at Blitzø. “... For this guy’s behavior. I’ll make sure he stops making so much noise.”
The lady relaxed and managed a smile at Verosika. “Well, it’s good to know there’s some decency around here.” She turns to Blitzø, as to mock him, getting a growl out of the imp. The woman turns back to Verosika. “And while we’re at it, turn that shit down. It's four in the morning.”
“Of course! We’ll… turn the volume down a bit. I am sorry for the inconvenience.”
Blitzø looked dumbfounded at Verosika for some seconds until he remembered his anger, then turned back at the bitch, who was already walking away.
“See you when you die, whore!”
Verosika dissolved the smile and went back to her usual expression. Mad as fuck. It’s what he liked to see.
She bent down and rested her arms on the van’s window.
“Are you serious? You’re picking fights with humans now?”
“The crazy bitch came to my van and suddenly I’m the one picking fights?!”
“Oh, for fuck’s sake, Blitz! She's a mother rightfully angry at someone honking for hours in the middle of the night! Get a grip, dumbass.”
“She was holding that baby upside down!”
Verosika frowned and let out a deep sigh.
“You know what? I don’t care. If you want to pick a fight with a human, you’re free to do so. But, can you at least not do this here? It’s the sixth year in a row I throw this party and I would very much appreciate it if I could keep doing so without a little prick upsetting the neighbors.”
Blitzø was going to answer, but he stopped midway and just resigned, turning his eyes from Verosika back to the steering wheel. He couldn’t handle much eye contact with her right now.
Verosika silently watched him for a moment and then got up.
“But… since you’re still here, there’s something I need you to do. Wait here.”
Blitzø saw Verosika rushing back into the house party. Not running, but walking faster than her usual model catwalk. After less than a minute, he saw her coming back and froze up.
Verosika was being followed by Tex and that bird stealing son of a bitch, carrying Stolas, who had his arms around their shoulders. The goetia, looking half-asleep, was mumbling something that made both Vortex and that guy chuckle.
“As you can see, he’s wasted.” Verosika turned back to Stolas. “Guess he must’ve had too much fun.” The girl smiled back at Stolas, who nodded in agreement, eyes and head both too tired to notice Blitzø’s presence.
To answer Verosika, the imp snapped back into reality. “He’s not used to this type of shit.”
Blitzø opened the door and aggressively pushed the incubus hands out of Stolas’ waist and shoulder, making Vortex back off too. The imp took the goetia on his arms and opened the back door of the van with his feet, gently placing the prince on the back seats. A gesture that didn’t go unnoticed by Verosika, although the succubus said nothing to it.
He closed his van’s back door and looked back at the people standing there, staring in particular at the incubus. Vortex sensed the tension and took the word.
“We… were trying to get him to teleport back to his house, you know? But he was too drunk to get it right, and…”
“Oh yeah, and none of you know where he lives? He’s the fucking prince, it shouldn’t be hard to—”
“Are you complaining now?” Verosika inquired, without batting an eye at Blitzø. The imp swallowed his words and went back to his seat, turning the engine on.
“We thought the palace’s security wouldn’t let any of us help him in, as we’re all strangers.” The incubus guy said as Blitzø closed the door on his face. “... But they’re familiar with you.”
“Yeah yeah yeah, I got that.” Blitzø looked at the guy, then to Tex and finally at Verosika. She sensed his eyes and turned back at him, making him avoid her stare once more.
“Thanks… for entrusting him to me. I’ll take him home.”
He took off without waiting for a reply.

Over twenty minutes had passed since they’ve fled the party, and the car was dead silent. Nothing could be heard but the engines and occasionally Stolas’ hoot-snoring. Blitzø checked him moments ago through the rearview mirror and the owl was sound asleep, so you can imagine his surprise when he heard:
“Don’t you have the crystal?”
The sluggish voice almost made Blitzø lose control of the steering wheel, but he was able to get his shit together in time. He quickly looked at the mirror to check on Stolas again, who was still lying down, looking in his direction.
There was an immediate comprehension of what he meant.
The two of them were no longer in the human world, as Stolas could see by the bright red light of the Pride ring’s moon shining through the car windows, reflecting on the jewel located at the imp’s wrist.
Blitzø could have easily teleported them to the palace in the snap of a finger, but he didn’t do that. He chose not to do that. And they both knew.
“So you’re awake.” Blitzø could sense Stolas’ eyes on his back. “Are you okay? You need to throw up?”
The goetia got up and adjusted himself in the seat, in a rather coy way.
“Mmmm noo…”
Blitzø chuckled. “Yeah, you do.”
Stolas tried fighting against it, but he was too drunk and too tired. The prince fell back asleep as he quietly watched the source of his increased heartbeat as he drove through Hell.

After taking off his clothes (since Stolas’ didn’t like wearing any to sleep) and carefully covering him with the blanket, Blitzø just… stood there. Admiring. He knew he had to get the fuck out as he was not invited, but the imp couldn’t help but feel the nostalgia of it.
How many times had he seen Stolas’ sleeping face? He thought about it and concluded that it was more than he should, but less than he wanted to. On every full moon encounter, Blitzø would go to the palace with only one objective in mind: Get the job done and leave. And that’s what he did. At first.
About eight months into the agreement, and even more than that having that damn book, there was no point in pretending Stolas was just some guy whom he’d have sex with once a month. He could try to see him that way, but it would come off as a forced roleplay.
They knew each other. They had a time scheduled to speak to each other every day. When they were done, Stolas would gladly blab over how wonderful of an experience it was and Blitzø didn’t mind the ego burst. He would make plans, “Blitzy, how about we try shibari our next rendezvous?”, and Blitzø would answer with “Only if I can make you hang from the ceiling”. There were times where they had so much fun and wasted so much energy, they would get hungry and Stolas would prepare a quick dinner afterwards. Sneaking around the palace, hoping to Lucifer he didn’t wake Via up. Blitzø could barely contain the chuckle every single time.
They got so used to each other’s company they would make conversation about whatever came to mind. Stolas would complain about some character in his telenovela who was hurting the heroine’s feelings, and Blitzø would call him a jerk. Blitzø would brag over how he had four perfect kills in a day, and the owl would hype him up every time. Blitzø would explain the plot of a new horse movie he watched, Stolas would talk about a new plant he acquired for his garden. Stolas would speak of the stars, and even though Blitzø couldn’t understand much, he was still mesmerized by the prince’s magic.
When they cuddled, Stolas would softly sing the most beautiful lullabies, trying to get Blitzø to sleep. He wouldn’t. Though he did pretend sometimes. Blitzø knew Stolas would never sleep while he was awake, not wanting to waste a moment in his company, so he pretended, and when Stolas heard Blitzø’s breathing slow down, that’s when he allowed himself to close his eyes and give in as well. The imp knew that Stolas hoped he could fall into such a heavy sleep he would be there when he woke up.
As Stolas closed his eyes, Blitzø would whisper: “I won’t”.
He wouldn’t stay until the morning, but he would stay for a while after the bird fell asleep. Blitzø would hear his calm breathing and sweet owl snoring and open his eyes, knowing it was okay now. He would stare at his face, just like how he was doing now. Without the red gleam of the four eyes, he could admire how long Stolas’ lashes were. How his beak would stay slightly open, allowing the hoots to go through. His expression this time was not as serene as the times before, but he can guess why.
Still beautiful to look at.
Blitzø fell out of the trance when he realized the night was coming to an end. With the most pained expression, he got up and looked around at the room. The sweet memories all vanished, replaced once again by the rough reality of what happened on their last full moon. The bed was messy, but the rest of the room remained just as Blitzø left it. The bag full of sex toys still on the ground, unopened; just as the grimoire was still on Stolas’ shelf.
The imp looked at that book as intensely as ever, as if he was going to steal it again. The thought hovered in his head, making him spiral.
He could. What was stopping him? He did it once, he could do it another time. Just steal it and start it all over again. Restart the deal, restart the full moons and put himself back on a leash. That worked before, why not—
“I told you, you don’t need it anymore.”
The voice made Blitzø jump, which made it the second time in the night Blitzø could’ve sworn Stolas was in deep sleep, and he was not. His voice sounded a lot more sober too.
“I thought you were asleep.”
“I was.”. Stolas looked at the asmodean crystal on Blitzø’s glove. “I believe the morning rays reflected on it have awoken me.”
Oh… he was an idiot. Blitzø frowned and covered the damn thing with his hand, starting to panic. “Oh! I’m— Shit… I’m sorry, ‘kay? Go back to sleep. I’m on my way out.”
Stolas' eyes lingered on the crystal, and then moved to the grimoire and back to Blitzø, who avoided the bright red eyes. “Thank you for bringing me home safely.”.
“No big deal.”
“Didn’t have to take my clothes off, though.”
Blitzø blushed a little. “I just wanted you to sleep good, I didn’t mean to—”
“I know.”. The imp got himself together and turned back to Stolas, who was staring at him with a polite look, which made Blitzø deeply unsettled. He couldn’t tell why.
“Look, Stolas, I—”
“You were on your way out, right?”
“I mean… yes, I was, but can we—”
“Do you mind taking these out with you?” Stolas pointed with his head at the bag of unused sex toys Blitzø brought with him the night before.
The imp forgot what he was going to say, stunned by the dry command.
“... Huh?”
“Don’t you worry. I can guarantee that all of it was left untouched, and since it has no purpose being here, you may as well take it back.”
But he figured out what about this situation was unsettling him so much.
Stolas wasn’t being sassy. He wasn’t ready to fight with him like at the garden or to cry at him like at the party either. Neither was he behaving like the Stolas he knew for most of his life: the one who was always ready to listen to whatever shit had to say, no matter how dumb, silly or useless the subject was. He always listened. And even when he was angry, confused, sad, heartbroken… Stolas would always look at Blitzø like he mattered. Like he cared about him.
Those warm eyes in Blitzø’s memories were now cold, as he knew the prince was looking in his direction, but wasn’t seeing him at all. He was putting a solid distance between them.
And that terrified the living shit out of Blitzø.
“Is there a problem?”
“Haha… What the fuck…” Blitzø whispered to himself, making Stolas turn to him again.
“Excuse me?”
“What the actual fuck do you think you’re doing, Stolas?!” Blitzø began to raise his voice halfway through the sentence, but controlled himself as he saw Stolas flinch.
“... Are we fighting two nights in a row?” Stolas’ deadpan expression was driving Blitzø so insane, he desperately ran up to him, sat on his lap and firmly held his cheeks in his hands.
“What is this shit, Stolas? Look at me!” Blitzø stood so close to Stolas face he had no choice but to look his way. After a few seconds of them being so close in proximity they started breathing in the same frequency, Blitzø could see the light returning to Stolas’ eyes, followed by some tears who refused to drop.
“What do you think you are doing right now?” Stolas’ voice was shaking. He tried to push Blitzø’s hands down, but had no success. It could’ve been the alcohol, the sleepless night, his trembling fingers or the uneven heartbeats. Just enough reasons to justify why he couldn’t get away from Blitzø’s grip. “Let go of me, Blitz!”
Blitzø sighed in relief as he moved his hands from Stolas’ cheeks, to his shoulders, all the way down to his talons. He squeezed them and rested his forehead on the taller shoulder.
“Thank Satan, you said my name.”
Stolas was paralyzed. He had to remind himself to breathe, otherwise he would most likely die on the spot. As he was about to say something, he felt Blitzø’s hands sliding from his talons up to his back, and now the imp was hugging him as tightly as he possibly could.
The goetia couldn’t stop the tears now.
“I… I…”. Blitzø heard Stolas’ soft cries, so he squeezed him even tighter, snuggling his head on the owl’s shoulder. “I don’t understand what you want from me.”. Stolas rested his crying face on Blitzø’s horn. “I really don’t understand, Blitz.”
Blitzø tried caressing Stolas’ head, but as soon as the bird felt his hand, he straightened up. The imp collected his hand back, and looked back at him. Stolas’ face was a mess, but Blitzø couldn’t help but feel relieved the indifference was gone.
“Don’t do that shit again.” He said, as he wiped the tears off Stolas’ eyes.
“What do you mean?”
“Don’t play with me, you know damn well what you were trying to do. Treating me like I didn’t mean jack shit.”
“What?”
Blitzø pinched Stolas’ cheek, who let out a little owl noise. “Don’t. I mean it. Don’t ever try that again.”
“And why do you care so much?”. Stolas was getting annoyed. “Why are you even still here?”
“Because…” That question would normally make Blitzø run away, but he didn’t want to leave. Not like this. Not anymore. “Because… I don’t want to mean nothing.”.
“Now that’s a selfish fucking thing to say.” Stolas took a deep breath. “So you don’t want to leave me alone, but you also don’t want me to treat you with politeness? What do you suggest? For us to fight? For you and I to only speak to each other by screaming?”
“No, I…” Blitzø frowned at the thought of that and passed his hands through his face. Why does everything have to be so complicated? “... Don’t want to scream. Don’t want to fight with you anymore”.
“So… What then? Please, share your input on how we could improve this situation.”.
Given the absence of a response, Stolas chuckled, pent-up with anger. “You don’t want for me to treat you like an acquaintance and you don’t want to fight, so what do you want then?! Satan, What do you want from me, Blitz?”
After a few breaths, Blitzø gulps and, in the most begging expression Stolas has ever seen from him — even more than when he thought he was losing his free way to earth forever — he simply asks:
“Can’t we go back to how we were before?”
Silence.
Blitzø didn’t know what to do with his gaze, but then Stolas let out yet another sarcastic chuckle.
“So fucking selfish.”. The goetia mumbled to himself, but loud enough so Blitzø could hear it. Before he could think of replying, Stolas got up, pushing the imp out his lap and into the bed.
“Get out.”
“Stolas, please—” Blitzø got up at the speed of light and tried reaching for Stolas’ hand, but he raised it up and pointed to the balcony.
“Out, Blitz. Now!” Stolas raised his voice, inviting Blitzø to do the same.
“Oh, Stolas, for fuck’s sake! Stop kicking me out without giving me a chance to fucking explain myself!”
Stolas’ tears threatened to fall, which made him even angrier “What is there to explain?! You just stated that you want me to go back to caring for you, to being there for you, to supporting you, but without reciprocation! I do not wish nor intend to go back! I don’t intend to spend the rest of my life being your cheerleader, Blitz!”
“Stolas, that’s not what I mean! I don’t want you to be my goddamn cheerleader, I…”
Blitzø gagged at the words. He couldn’t look at Stolas anymore and his gaze began to wander; lost, because having this conversation while concealing his feelings was too much to handle at the same time. In his head, too many moments were mixing together. The happy memories, the painful ones, and the memories that didn’t happen because he was too fucking afraid to visit someone he cares about at that hospital. Someone he…
He squeezed the skin between his eyebrows, proceeding to scrub his face. The need to say what he feels, yet hating it more than anything, made him groan out of frustration.
Blitzø looked at Stolas’ way and took a deep sigh.
“Hard.”
The goetia waited for the imp to continue, as he seemed to have a lot bottled up, but a few seconds passed and Blitzø seemed stuck.
Stolas’ patience was hanging through a thread.
“What is hard?”
“Me.”
Stolas stared deadpan at the smaller demon. “Honestly, Blitz, out of all the moments to have an erection, I don’t think now is the—”
“Wha— No! Fuck no, not that.” Blitzø sighed and sat on the ground.
Noticing how frustrated and tired the imp looked, Stolas approached and sat down with him. They stood there for a minute, but the uncomfortable silence made it seem like an eternity to both parties involved. Stolas giving his best to be patient with Blitzø as he gathered strength to continue, and Blitzø struggling to make his brain form a single cohesive sentence.
“I mean… me. I’m a hard person to…” Blitzø got stuck again, but this time it frustrated him so much he began scratching his head with a lot of strength, as if he was punishing himself for being so bad at this.
Seeing this behavior made the owl’s expression soften instantaneously. He could be angry and very much frustrated himself, but that was still Blitzø right there, and to care for him was not even a second nature to the owl — It was a vital part of his very being — so he let his concern overtake his feelings of hurt.
Stolas took Blitzø’s hands with his own, forcing him to stop hurting himself. He slowly put both their hands down and rested them on his lap, and then began stroking the imp’s knuckles, trying to ground him. As Blitzø got out of his head, he went from feeling annoyed and hurting to a mixture of being sad, surprised and very flustered.
A gentle caress was the least thing he was expecting to receive from Stolas right now.
And he was still looking at him. Waiting.
Well, shit.
“I’m a difficult person, Stolas.” He chuckled, humorlessly. “I make it hard for everyone around me. Hell, you just saw it first hand at the party.” He wasn’t making visual contact, but could feel Stolas’ four eyes glued to him. “You saw how much hurt I’ve caused. How many wish I'd never entered their lives. I swear, there are so many people who walked out broken after staying too close to my sorry little ass that I completely lost track.” He briefly stopped to ponder. “Well… Except Dennis. That one’s just being a little bitch, but the point still stands.”
Blitzø was starting to feel his breathing begin to shake.
“I… I make everyone’s lives harder. I make everyone’s lives worse. I’m a pain to be with, to stay close to, to get over and… and I don’t get what is wrong with your pretty little head that would make you want to…” Stolas felt his hands tense, and Blitzø looked straight in the owl’s eyes. “Point is... you deserve more, Stols. You really do.”
Stolas took a few seconds to absorb that whole ramble, and upon noticing how much hurt Blitzø had in his eyes while looking at him, he couldn’t stand it anymore. He put one of the imp’s hands down, brought the one he was still holding closer to him, closed his eyes and kissed it.
The owl rested his lips on the other demon's hand for about five seconds, having his eyes opened mid-kiss just to be delighted by the sight of the most flustered reaction he ever took out of the imp.
Blitzø took a few seconds to react, and then pushed his hand right back, with his heartbeat going so crazy inside that he could only hope to fuck that Stolas wasn’t hearing it.
Stolas didn’t look angry anymore, but Blitzø swore his eyes right then could pierce through his soul.
“It’s not up to you to choose what I deserve.” The goetia began to crawl in Blitzø’s direction, getting so dangerously close Blitzø started to crawl backwards.
“Stolas…”
“And I can’t speak for others, but it’s not your place to decide whether or not you are a nuisance in my life.”
Blitzø had nowhere else to run. By his left there was the prince’s bookshelf and by his right it was Stolas’ arm, pressing the imp against the wall and blocking his way out. He gulped at the proximity, gaze flickering between Stolas’ eyes and his mouth.
“Stop acting like you know my thoughts, my feelings and my needs, because you don’t know shit, Blitz.”
Stolas' voice sounded menacing, but Blitzø wasn’t afraid. He was sad.
And horny too, because that was still Stolas crawling up to him — while naked — and talking low in his ear.
But mostly sad.
He was tired of unintentionally hurting this demon he came to care about. So tired.
As if Stolas could read his mind, he pulled away.
Still sitting down, he glanced to the balcony, noticing the sun was already up.
“I gotta go…” Blitzø quietly said, without looking at the goetia.
“Mhm…”
Blitzø got up and went straight to the bag with the sex toys Stolas had required him to take out.
“You may leave it there.”
“... You sure?”
“Yeah…” Stolas smiled at him. “It was a gift after all.”
Blitzø nodded and moved to the balcony, in complete silence. As he was about to close the door, he was startled yet again by Stolas’ voice, now back to his usual soft spoken tone.
“You know what, Blitz?”
The imp didn’t move an inch.
“It is hard to be with you.”
Oh.
The lump in his throat made him want to vomit. He thought he was prepared, but oh boy if that sentence didn't make his heart sink.
“You never listen. You have presumptions about myself that make it difficult for us to even do something as simple as hold a proper conversation without getting mad, sad or horny. When you are angry, you don’t care how harsh and how cruel your words come across. You just say them regardless. You are stubborn, hard-headed and instantly disregard others’ feelings for you if they don’t match the idea you created of yourself in your head. You are so blind by your self-hatred that you don’t see how much your friends enjoy your company. How much they care for you. How much I—"
Blitzø turned his head a little bit, and looked at Stolas from the corner of his eyes. Speechless.
“You are a difficult person, Blitz. You were right about that, I am not denying it, but…
You have no idea how easy it is to love you.”
He turned back to face Stolas completely, who was still on the floor, smiling as the tears fell down his eyes.
“It is so easy, Blitz. It’s the easiest thing one can ever do. It’s as easy as to breathe.”
Blitzø couldn’t move. It was like his hooves were stuck to the ground and his hands stuck to his sides. Stolas just said that breathing was easy, so why was it so hard to do so right now?
Stolas wiped his tears and faced Blitzø, looking almost serene, as he glanced back at the asmodean crystal.
“To fall is easy.” He looked back at the imp. “The hard part is having to stop because you’re too close to hitting the ground, so… Could you make things easier for me, please?” He said, with a gut wrenching smile.
It happened too fast to register. Blitzø ran up to Stolas before he could process any thoughts, acting purely on instinct. The imp grabbed those feathery cheeks and pressed his lips against Stolas’.
There was no tongue. Nothing sexual. Just a simple kiss.
One they hadn’t shared before.
A soft kiss.
A “please stop crying” kiss.
A reassurance kiss.
A wait for me kiss.
It didn’t go on for long, but both of their hearts could feel its meaning. And when the owl opened his eyes, blushing from head to toes, he saw the smug smile on Blitzø’s face and responded with the most genuine smile he’s had in months.
“You are such a selfish man.”
