It was a love at first sight for Yoon Jeonghan the moment the new trainee has entered their practice room. Their mentor introducing the teenage boy, the same age as Jeonghan - his round doe eyes with a cat-like curve to its corner and shape, scanning his surroundings. The corner of his pretty lips smiling, stretching into an adorable curve as well. How can someone be so beautiful?
Until the boy named Hong Joshua, whose Korean name is Jisoo, looked at him. It felt like the fluttering of his eyelids and lashes slowed down, Jeonghan zoning everything out around him and focusing on Joshua.
'An omega?' Jeonghan's inner alpha said, realizing that he can smell a very attractive scent from the boy that he couldn't name.
"Alright, Seungcheol, Jeonghan, Junhui? Please take care of Jisoo eh? He's one of the eldest kids like you guys, I think you'll get along with him. Meet your new friends, Jisoo." Their mentor said and both Seungcheol and Junhui hopped onto him right away to welcome him.
Jisoo's eyes never leaving Jeonghan's.
"Ey, Jjongie! Come meet Jisoo here, I have a fellow omega!" Seungcheol announced in glee, hugging Jisoo tight to himself and not realizing his strength is making the younger squeak.
Then there's Mingyu, one of their younger kids and an unpresented one at that, made his way to greet Jisoo too. Like a puppy excited to meet a new friend. With another unpresented boy named Seokmin, Mingyu's fellow puppy looking kid. Both are scrambling around Jisoo to which the new omega gladly hugged with giggles. Followed by three cat looking teenagers, greeting Jisoo with cute grins on their faces.
"I'm Jihoon, an omega too. This is Soonyoung, a beta and Wonwoo another omega too." Jihoon with a pale milky gorgeous skin and adorable face introduced the three of them, Jisoo smiling at the cat looking guys and glancing at Junhui as he thought there are four of them who looked like felines.
And Jeonghan came as well to introduce himself, since Jisoo's eyes darted at him from time to time. Jeonghan's eyes tracking every move Jisoo makes as he interacted with the kids.
They were eighteen when they first met, got closer and became best friends until they were so inseparable. There was something growing between them, Jeonghan developing this possessiveness over Jisoo. Involuntarily growling whenever trainees from other batches came over to greet the gorgeous omega. Jisoo scolding him afterwards whenever a rumble of growl starts in his throat. Until Jisoo learned to calm him down with a gentle hold on his arm as he noticed that Jeonghan is just being a protective bestfriend because its also innate to alphas to protect people important to them.
But Seungcheol once chuckled at him, saying that Jeonghan subconsciously thinks that Jisoo is his omega. But Jisoo himself didn't believe Seungcheol at all. The young heir of the company rolled his eyes at Jisoo, exhasperated with his two great friends dancing around each other for a year. (Yes Seungcheol is the heir of the company and an omega boss at that :)). He then continued his rounds and heads back at his own studio to continue writing and composing songs, he has a project to work on with Jihoon.
~ Three months later ~
There were changes with the plans regarding the pairings. In the first place, Seungcheol already told Jeonghan, and the guys about the trainees debuting in pairs or trios since they already finished with the group category of batches. Then Jisoo was eventually informed about it after he settled in as well.
Jeonghan assumed he'll be paired with Mingyu or Seokmin and become a pop or hiphop duo with either of his fellow alphas. Both Mingyu and Seokmin are newly presented alphas.
But the changes regarding the pairing and trio plans changed Jeonghan's mind. They'll be mixed instead of being paired or grouped with your fellow subgender people. Making Jeonghan and Mingyu assume that they have a chance to get paired with their desired person.
Another month later and the CEO was ready to announce to them who will debut with who and continue training with partners or trio group before they debut. Seungcheol kept on a straight face beside his Mother. Jeonghan and the guys couldn't read him.
Jihoon entered the conference room of the batch debuting this year, five months later to be exact and found Jeonghan, Jisoo, Mingyu, Wonwoo, Seokmin, Seungkwan and Soonyoung in the room.
"Ah, hello Jihoonie. Have a seat. You're part of this batch's debutants in five months. Junhui got an offer to debut solo and he'll be going back and forth here in South Korea and China. He'll be having a meeting with me later since he's speaking with a producer at studio 13." Seungcheol's mother, and current CEO said.
Then Jihoon sat down beside Jisoo, the older omega smiling at him and giving him a soft rub on his head. Jihoon almost wanted to snuggle into Jisoo's warmth.
"Kids, the names I'll be calling will remain inside this room and those who I did not please enter the connecting room and wait for your pairing." the alpha woman says and all of them nodded, beyond excited and anticipating the announcement.
"Seokmin, Soonyoung and Seungkwan remain here." and the trio gasped, cheering loudly in glee while the older guys laughed as they stood up from their seats to enter the connecting room.
Meanwhile Jihoon, Jeonghan, Jisoo, Mingyu and Wonwoo in the connecting room...
"I wanna be paired with Shua!" Wonwoo blurted out suddenly. Jisoo's eyes brightening and opening his arms for Wonwoo to embrace. The older omega was just too happy to be paired with anyone really.
While two alphas are whining in disagreement.
"Wonu! The boss said we'll be mixed right? There's no way you'll get paired with my Shuji." Jeonghan complained, Mingyu nodding beside him holding onto his Jeonghan-hyung's arm with a pout.
"Wonwoo-hyung. I thought you like me? We have to get paired up." Mingyu argued.
"Yeah, Wonu-ya. Stick with your boyfriend." Jeonghan teased, making Wonwoo blush and Jisoo giggled, pinching the younger omega's cheek. While Jihoon rolled his eyes at the four, arms crossed and watching them bicker.
"I wanna be with Shua because he can take care of me. He cooks tasty dishes and his scent is so good and I can cuddle him to sleep always." Wonwoo says, defending his reason why he wanted to be with Jisoo.
"Plus I'm more comfortable with a fellow omega as of now. No offense meant, Jeonghan-hyung and Gyu." Jeonghan sighed, Mingyu nodding, understanding his older boyfriend.
They have a relationship, and an unmated couple at that. There are a lot of risks predisposing them to possible events that may occur.
"Don't you want to pair with me, Wonu?" Jihoon spoke.
"We can live together with Shua instead. The three of us." Wonwoo suggested with a smile. Jeonghan and Mingyu still pouting, their lips stretching longer.
"Seungcheol also told me you'll be paired with him." Jisoo blurted out.
"Shujiii, that's a secret!"
"Oops!" Jisoo giggled, Jihoon blushing and gaping at his friends.
Until BooSeokSoon barged in the room to call the next pair.
"Shua-hyung and Gyu! The boss asked to call you next." Seungkwan said, leaving the five of them shocked.
"Gyu, let's go." Jisoo turned to look at Mingyu whose face is equally confused. When Jisoo was about to walk out of the room, he was stopped by Wonwoo's hold on his arm.
"Wonu, I'll be back later, we can snuggle at the break room." Jisoo cooed, softly patting Wonwoo's cheek for him to let go. Wonwoo nodding at Jisoo and giving his younger boyfriend, Mingyu a worried look.
Then Jisoo looked at Jeonghan's dark eyes. Jeonghan looking away instead.
Wonwoo sighed as he heard the door clicked close when both Mingyu and Jisoo are out of their sight.
"Maybe the boss will ask Shua-hyung to call Jeonghan-hyung in and for Gyu to call Wonu." Seokmin suggested to lighten up the room, Seungkwan and Soonyoung clinging beside him, nervous at the tensioned atmosphere of the room.
Mainly the tension coming from Jeonghan.
While Wonwoo was torn between wanting to be with Jisoo or getting worried about how Jeonghan will take the news if its actually confirmed already. He trusts Mingyu. A lot. He's his boyfriend and he loves the younger that's why he's open with Mingyu being paired with his Shua-hyung. He trusts the both of them.
But he doesn't know if its the same case about Yoon Jeonghan as their hyung is very possessive of Jisoo even if they're not mates or boyfriends. The young man constantly clings and stays by Jisoo's side to the point that they smell like each other. Much to Wonwoo's annoyance whenever he asks his Shua-hyung for comfort cuddles as he absolutely loves the way Shua takes care of him and spoils him like a baby.
On the other hand, inside the conference room. Mingyu is chewing on his lower lip, an arm hooked on Jisoo's nervously. The CEO smiled at them and gestured on the two seats in front of her. Jisoo looking at Seungcheol for any sort of assurance and the older smiled apologetically at him as an answer.
And Jisoo knew what was coming to him.
"Hong Jisoo, you'll debut as a member of an idol-duo named MJ-93 with Kim Mingyu---" and Jisoo was stuck with that particular phrase which kept getting repeated in his head.
Jisoo already understood why the CEO did this. There are numerous precautions about the dating lives of celebrities and as much as being in love can also help them produce more inspiring music, it could also be their great downfall.
Before Mingyu and Jisoo can even reply to Mrs. Choi, Jeonghan spoke from behind as it seemed like he already barged in the room with Wonwoo after him, The younger omega looked like he tried to stop his hyung but to no avail, they both overheard everything.
"Are you separating Mingyu and Wonwoo now, Mrs. Choi?" Jeonghan asked, stalking forward like the predator that he is. Seungcheol rising from his seat, ready to interrupt his best friend if needed.
"Yes, it won't be good if I keep them together especially if they're dating." the CEO answered.
"But you allowed them to date. And now you're separating them?" Jeonghan questioned, while Mrs. Choi calmly just smiled at him.
"You think you're being concerned about your dongsaeng's love life?" Mrs. Choi said, making Jeonghan raise an eyebrow.
"I am concerned about them, they're my friends."
"Or are you just fighting for your own gain? Your own desire? You wanted to be paired with Jisoo right? I can't do that Jeonghan." then Mrs. Choi stood up from her seat.
"I can see that Jisoo only treats both Mingyu and Wonwoo like his younger baby brothers. Which is good. That is why I paired him up with Mingyu--"
Wonwoo butted in this time, "If that's the case then why can't I be partners with Shua instead?"
"You guys need to understand that there should be a varying dynamics in an idol-duo. There's only two of you in that duo so you'll have to rely to one another with building chemistry. I know idol-duos can debut with the same secondary gender. Heck that is the common way in our industry. But its a great opportunity now to something new. We have to do this kids. Believe me."
In the end, Jisoo signed the contract to MJ-93 and Mingyu was only 17 years old back then so they called a nearby guardian for him to help Mingyu sign the papers. Same goes with Wonwoo who is about to turn eighteen soon but still, he needed a guardian too. Mingyu and Wonwoo will be alright, they know it. They can look for apartment units together and become neighbors instead. The young couple can stand this, for their dreams, as they both promised to one another that they'll grow together.
While Jeonghan reluctantly signed as well. He didn't quit training because he wanted to become a singer and a performer. He continued training because he was able to endure everything with Jisoo's presence. And now you're telling him they won't debut in one unit? He couldn't help but let the green monster dominate over his head.
After they signed the contracts, Jeonghan was quite aloof, barely answering to anyone. Until Jisoo asked him if they could talk, and the alpha agreed right away.
Jeonghan was jealous, something he wouldn't admit to Jisoo or anyone. He knew Jisoo is disappointed too, but they have to do this.
"Do you not trust me or Mingyu?" Jisoo asked, Jeonghan almost didn't hear him.
"You don't know what can happen, Soo. Mingyu is an alpha who is attached to you like the other kids."
"Jeonghan! He has Wonwoo! They're boyfriends who love one another. What the fuck is wrong with you? You're saying such non-sense you know wouldn't happen. You don't even trust us. What even is your problem huh?"
"Its about you! You're an omega and Mingyu--"
"He's an alpha I fucking know. And you are too. Do you want to be paired up with me? I also want that Jeonghan but this is what was given to us. Are you actually concerned about Gyu and Won? I can't understand you."
"You can't, you won't be able to."
"Then make me understand Jeonghan! I can't believe we're fighting over this--
"Because you're mine Jisoo! And what if something happens between you and Mingyu? What--"
"I'm not yours in the first place Jeonghan. Stop being an asshole and fucking listen to what you're saying. I can't believe you're thinking of those things! You think Mingyu will cheat? You think I'll interfere and destroy their relationship? Just because I'm an omega?"
Jeonghan sighed, finally understanding he was wrong. But Jisoo was already walking away before he could even respond and apologize.
Until the day they finally debuted. JxW was the first idol-duo the company has launched followed by MJ-93. And ever since the fight, Jisoo was still not speaking to Jeonghan. Much to the alpha's dismay, even though he knew why Jisoo got mad. Everytime they'll bump or run to each other at the company building or at backstages, Jisoo will act like Jeonghan didn't even exist.
"Its your fault hyung. You accused him of being a person or someone who will cheat. Mingyu is not even like that, you forgot that my boyfriend is your friend too. But due to your jealousy and possessiveness clouding your thinking, you also accused Shua as someone who will destroy a relationship." Wonwoo said, the both of them are already dressed up and make up done, waiting for their manager to call them up to perform on stage at a variety show.
"Ugh, I know Won. I've been reflecting from my mistakes ever since that day. I wanted to apologize but it has been a year and Soo wouldn't even talk to me. How come you and Mingyu are alright?"
Wonwoo chuckled and rolled his eyes at his hyung. "Its because we communicate, hyung. But here you are moping around because you don't have the guts and voice to admit it to him. Admit your feelings to Shua and everything will be alright I'm telling you. Maybe he'll understand your point, maybe not."
"Its because you stepped and used Shua's secondary gender, hyung. And he couldn't believe that those accusations came from someone very important to him too. Let Shua be for a while and go chase after him again. You're the Jeonghan Yoon bro."
Jeonghan sighed, face turning sour as he saw Jisoo and Mingyu's airport pictures together through his instagram account. Their fans shipping them to one another. So he exited the app before he coud post anything more that might endanger their careers.
"I'll get you to look at me again, Hong Jisoo. I'll make you mine soon." Jeonghan mumbled and Wonwoo rolled his eyes at his hyung.
"Do it, hyung. Don't just say it."
