Ren had his eye on the Quanta Archon for a while. On first impression, the man seemed to put on a brave facade although Ren could see the fear in his eyes. During their diplomatic meeting earlier, the other laid out his plans to protect the Luofu if the prophecy came to pass, and Ren couldn’t help but laugh at the absurdity of it. However, the other intrigued him greatly. He needed to get time with him alone.
He then finds himself in disguise tailing the other in the dead of night. He took the chance to strike when the archon stopped his stroll to pet a stray cat. He’s so close to reaching his hand inside the other’s chest when the other materialized a spear out of nowhere and parried his attack. Hmm. This is finally getting interesting.
“What a lovely night this is, don’t you think Dan Heng?” The archon didn’t show any fear, although Ren could see little trembles from his hands holding the spear. “Please, just drop the formalities. I always knew what you’re really after. Unfortunately for you, the gnosis is not with me at this time.”
Ren then smiles maniacally.
“Only one way to find out.”
