Work Text:
It was a usual morning. Like always, [ PROTAG ] woke up from his slumber groggily as his phone alarm rang through his room. It was barely 6AM, yet he had to get up for work. He sat up, in a slouchy posture. Putting on his glasses and stretching. You know, the usual. But he did feel a little off today..
Wait a damn minute.
Was that FUCKING SMOKE COMING FROM HIS KITCHEN?!
He shifted from his tired state to full panic mode. Racing down to his kitchen, only to be met with–.
Oh.
Dammit.
“[ COWORKER ], you didn’t tell me you’d visit today.”
The blond sputtered, freezing at the sight of [ PROTAG ] catching him in the act while smoke ( and the smell of.. wet rice and flour..? How.. ) wafted throughout the whole room. Sigh.. Seems like he tried cooking again.
“Well- Hey-! Can I not come here whenever I please or what?”
The dark haired male sighed, “You can but–” He pointed at …that. Thing. That burnt thing that was currently stuck on the pan. “Not when you’re trying to make stuff like.. that.”
His coworker pouted. “It’s pancakes! Can you not tell? I spent my precious time on this!”
“..No. I can’t.. Those are pancakes..?”
“...”
“...”
“Annnyways.” The blond quickly tried to change the subject. “Want some?”
“Why don’t we make something else, right now..”
“...Okay.”
And that’s how he ended up making breakfast with his coworker. It wasn’t the best thing he made, but it was enough. Although, they did have to clean up the mess his blondie made. Apparently, he was even using salt for the pancake mixture..? He really did need to teach his coworker to cook properly, when he had a chance.
But it’s not like he didn’t appreciate that his coworker took the time to make something for him this early in the morning, ( even when it looked like it came from the depths of hell. ) no, not at all. It was sort of endearing. In a way.
And he loved how stupidly endearing it was.
