Work Text:

All at once, everything became too much.

At the start of today everything felt normal. The sheets and blankets, the light of his room, he couldn't even smell anything wrong.

The day went on simi-normal too. He had breakfast and nothing was wrong. He spared with killer and nothing was wrong. He watched a movie with you, there was a small itch in his bones, but overall nothing felt wrong

Well, that was until it came to what was supposed to be a short supply run with you and horror.

The three of you had went separate ways to cover more places. The itch he had while watching the movie with you earlier had got worse.

He didn't want to think it was a LoVe rush, so he didn't. He kept it out of his thoughts, he couldn't ruin this.

At the end of the mission when all of you were gathered together again, waiting for nightmare to open a portal. That's when it hit.

Every little shift of feet and small voice sounded loud in his skull. The stuff he held in his hands felt like it was burning his rough bones.

As soon as he got into the castle he put what he had gathered away and speed walked to his room. He didn't even notice that you tried to stop and ask what was wrong.

He didn't even think to bother with his door when he got to his room. The light he had left on felt blinding. Too much. When layed down on his bed, the covers now felt painfully rough compared to this morning. Too much. Even now there were smells that he didn't know existed. Too much.

He didn't even realize he had started to cry until something wet had dripped on his phalanges.

The slight creek of his door open had him sending a few bone attacks that luckily hit the top wall instead of whoever walked in.

He was about to send another wave of attacks until he felt something soft on the side of his skull.

He desummoned the attacks, yet still flinched away from the touch. He looked up to see you standing infront of him with an expression of worry.

Eyelights the size of pinpricks stared up at you. He knew it was you, he did. But all the too much feelings had him spiraling.

"Dust? Hey, you're okay. I'm right here."

"..."

"Shh, your okay... breathe Dust, everything's the same, nothings changed I promise."

He let out a shaky breath, reaching a hand up to touch your face to make sure you were not a hallucination. Once confirmed you weren't, he pulled you down and wrapped his arms around you.

Everything still felt a lot but this felt bearable for once. This LoVe rush is different with you.

Eventually the both of you lay on his bed. You rubbing gentle patterns over the back of his skull. You even had turned the lights off before laying with him.

This LoVe rush is definitely different with you by his side.
