Chapter Text
As Ochako patrolled the bustling streets of the city, her senses attuned to any unusual sounds or movements, she couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had settled in the pit of her stomach. The city seemed to hum with an undercurrent of tension, as if it were holding its breath, waiting for something to happen.
Then, like a crack of thunder on a clear day, a sharp bang echoed through the air, shattering the uneasy silence. Ochako's head snapped in the direction of the sound, her heart racing with adrenaline-fueled anticipation. Beside her, the elderly woman she had been assisting across the street looked up at her with concern, her frail hands clasping Ochako's arm.
"Is everything alright, dear?" the woman asked, her voice tinged with worry.
Ochako offered the woman a reassuring smile, her determination shining in her eyes. "I think there might be trouble nearby," she replied softly. "Would it be alright if I used my Quirk to float you across the street to safety?"
The woman's eyes widened in surprise, but then she nodded, her expression grateful. "Of course, dearie," she said, patting Ochako's cheek affectionately. "Thank you so much. You're very kind."
With a quick nod of thanks, Ochako activated her Quirk, her body glowing with a soft pink light as she gently lifted the woman off the ground and floated her across the street to the safety of the sidewalk. As soon as the woman was safely on solid ground, Ochako released her Quirk, allowing the woman to stand on her own two feet once more.
"Thank you, ma'am," Ochako said with a warm smile. "Have a lovely day."
With that, Ochako dashed towards a nearby alley, her senses on high alert as she scanned the area for any signs of trouble. Spotting a fire escape, she wasted no time in scaling the metal structure with a combination of her physical strength and Quirk.
Reaching the rooftop in record time, Ochako paused to catch her breath, her eyes scanning the skyline for any hint of smoke or fire. It didn't take long for her to spot the telltale plumes of smoke rising in the distance, darkening the sky with their ominous presence.
"Crap," Ochako muttered under her breath, her heart sinking at the sight. Without hesitation, she reached for her phone and dialed Deku's number, her fingers tapping anxiously against the screen as she waited for him to pick up.
"Ochako, did you hear the loud noise as well?" Deku's voice crackled over the line, filled with concern.
"Yeah, I'm nearby," Ochako replied, her words rushed as she scanned the rooftops for any sign of movement. "I see a bunch of fire, but it's not blue, so I don't think it's Dabi's. I'm heading there now; it looks to be around Yaoyorozu's company. Can you notify her for me? I'm almost there. Where are you?"
"I'm further away," Deku responded, his voice tense with urgency. "Me and Kacchan are rushing there now. Be safe, Ochako-chan. Don't get into a fight you can't handle."
Ochako's frown deepened at Deku's words, but a small smile tugged at the corners of her lips at Bakugo's familiar voice in the background. "Shut up, Deku! Pink Cheeks can handle herself," Bakugo's gruff voice echoed through the line before Ochako hung up, a surge of determination coursing through her veins.
With a final deep breath to steady her nerves, Ochako launched herself across the rooftops, her muscles burning with exertion as she pushed herself to go faster, to go further. She had to get to the source of the trouble, to do whatever it took to keep her city safe.
Finally, she reached the rooftop overlooking the source of the smoke, her breath catching in her throat as she took in the scene below. Surrounding a building were a group of villains, their dark figures silhouetted against the backdrop of flames and destruction.
Among them stood a familiar face, one that sent a chill down Ochako's spine. Himiko Toga, a notorious villain with a penchant for chaos and mayhem, stood at the forefront of the group, her wild grin sending a shiver down Ochako's spine.
As if sensing Ochako's presence, Toga looked up, her eyes lighting up with manic glee as she spotted Ochako perched on the rooftop above. "OCHAKO-CHAN, YOU CAME!" Toga's voice carried up to Ochako, filled with excitement and anticipation.
Ochako's jaw clenched as she watched Toga skip around the other villains, her knives glinting in the firelight as she approached the building. With a determined set to her jaw, Ochako knew that she couldn't let Toga get away with whatever she had planned. She had to stop her, no matter the cost.
With a flick of her wrist, Ochako tossed out a flare onto the roof, the bright light illuminating the scene below as she prepared to descend into the fray. Toga's laughter echoed in her ears as she scaled the wall with ease, her movements fluid and graceful as she closed the distance between them.
Finally, Toga reached the rooftop, her eyes sparkling with excitement as she faced off against Ochako. "I'm so glad you came, Ochako-chan," Toga purred, her voice dripping with faux sweetness as she circled Ochako like a predator stalking its prey.
Ochako's muscles tensed as she prepared to fight, her mind racing with strategies and counterattacks. But no amount of preparation could have prepared her for the sheer agility and skill that Toga possessed.
With lightning-fast reflexes, Toga dodged Ochako's attacks with ease, her movements fluid and graceful as she danced around Ochako with unnerving precision. Try as she might, Ochako couldn't land a single hit, her frustration mounting with each failed attempt.
As the battle raged on, Ochako's determination wavered, her breath coming in ragged gasps as she struggled to keep up with Toga's relentless onslaught. With a desperate lunge, Ochako launched herself at Toga, only to find herself ensnared in the villain's grasp, a knife pressed against her throat.
Panic surged through Ochako as she stared into Toga's eyes, the twisted glint of madness sending a chill down her spine. "Why are you doing this?" Ochako demanded, her voice trembling with a mix of fear and anger.
Toga's laughter filled the air as she tightened her grip on Ochako, her grin widening into a manic smile. "The world is so cruel, Ochako-chan," Toga replied, her voice filled with a sense of twisted justification. "All I want to do is fix the unfairness within the hero system, starting with the biggest funders."
Before Ochako could respond, the ground beneath them shook with the approach of reinforcements. Ochako's saw Bakugo rushing towards the building, his explosive Quirk crackling. "Well Ochako-Chan that's my cue to go!" Toga presses a kiss to Ochakos Cheek "Mwah!"
As Ochako descended from the rooftop, she couldn't shake the bewildering sensation of Toga's lips lingering on her cheek. The brief contact left her feeling flustered and off-balance, her thoughts swirling in a chaotic whirlwind. Toga's unpredictable nature always kept Ochako on edge, but this unexpected display of affection left her even more unsettled.
Bakugo's explosive outburst snapped Ochako back to reality, his fierce determination cutting through the tension like a knife. Despite his brash demeanor, she couldn't help but feel a sense of camaraderie with him and Deku as they stood together, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
Deku's emerald glow illuminated the darkness, casting a reassuring aura over the scene. His presence was a constant source of comfort for Ochako, a reminder that she was never alone in the fight against villainy. She met his nod with a determined gaze, silently acknowledging their unspoken bond.
As the remaining villains closed in, Ochako felt a surge of adrenaline coursing through her veins. With each step, she focused on the task at hand, pushing aside any doubts or fears that threatened to cloud her judgment. She had a job to do, and she wouldn't let anything stand in her way.
But as the metal man charged forward and Bakugo unleashed his explosive fury, Ochako's attention was drawn to Deku's sudden struggle. His coughs echoed through the chaos, sending a chill down her spine. Without hesitation, she rushed towards him, her heart pounding in her chest.
"Wait! Ochako-" Ochako turns around and meets togas gaze, "Its poisonous" she deadpans, "Don't die." Ochako growled and ignored Toga, scoffing at the warning.
A bitter smoke filled her lungs, burning with each breath she took. But Ochako pressed on, her determination outweighing the physical discomfort. She couldn't let Deku succumb to the fumes, not when he needed her the most.
With a burst of speed, Ochako reached Deku's side, her hands trembling as she reached out to him. She tapped him gently, her touch infused with the power of her quirk as she floated him away from the danger.
But instead of retreating to safety, Ochako found herself drawn deeper into the toxic fog, her senses dulled by the noxious fumes. She stumbled forward, her vision blurred and her head spinning with dizziness.
As she struggled to stay conscious, Ochako felt herself being lifted off her feet, cradled in the arms of an unseen savior. The scent of caramel enveloped her, soothing her frazzled nerves as she leaned into the comforting embrace.
Through the haze of confusion, Ochako could make out the faint outline of two yellow cat-like eyes watching her with concern. It was a fleeting glimpse, but it filled her with a sense of reassurance amidst the chaos.
