Chapter Text
The waters were vicious when a storm was ahead, Captain Lilith knew that fact yet she still ordered her crew to keep forth. Lilith’s crew had tried to bargain with her, yet she was stiff as a stone with her orders. The crew jumped in shock as a loud burst of thunder roared through the sky. Captain Lilith laughed and walked up to Richard, who had the wheel in his hands, steering as best he could.
“It’s my turn,” Lilith said to Richard as she grabbed the wheel from him with a toothy yet cocky grin. She grasped the wheel tightly as the waves started to turn violent, slamming against the ship. She chuckled as she turned the wheel to get back on track, right after the boat was pushed in a different direction. Richard had looked at her, confused by her chuckle. Captain Lilith on the other hand had seemed to enjoy the challenge.
“Hey Rich, go up to the Crow’s Nest and see how far ‘till we reach the eye of the storm.” Richard obeys and runs down to the main deck, reaching the shrouds and climbing them to reach the Crow’s Nest. He looks ahead to see where the eye of the storm is, he gasps as he sees the bright light shining down from the sky in the eye of the storm. He hurriedly climbs down the shrouds and up to Lilith, “We’re almost there ma’am! Only a few nautical miles ‘till we reach the eye!” He says excitedly.
She smiles at him and nods her head in thanks before looking back at the ocean ahead of her and steering the ship through a violent wave. As the ship passes the wave the bright light starts to shine onto the boat, and the rain ceases to pellet the top deck and the crew. Lilith and Rich look at each other with a smile as the crew cheers in the background, glad that they made it in one piece. “You can steer some more, call for me if you need help or see something.”
Captain Lilith says to Rich before walking down the stairs and making her way to the captain’s quarters. She had a log to make about the exhilarating experience, wanting to record it to show her family when they made it to land. It had been a long day already and after Lilith finished writing the log of the morning she put her feet up on her desk and leaned back against the chair. She closed her eyes and listened to the calm waves hitting the side of the boat as she took a nap.
