Across The Moonlit Sands

Summary:

"Why are you acting like this?" Luffy asks suddenly, crossing his arms over his chest.

"I beg your pardon?"

Luffy huffs. "You're acting like a good person; I didn't expect you to be a good person," he says while rubbing his neck. "Stop it. You're confusing me, and I don't like it."

Or;

In the White Kingdom, where political alliances are paramount, an arranged marriage takes place between His Majesty King Trafalgar D. Water Law and the crown prince of the Eastern Tribe, Monkey D. Luffy.

Notes:

I had been planning to write this for a long time, and I finally had the time to do it.

Anyway, I hope you like it. ^^

Work Text:

Today promises to be a memorable day.

As the darkness of night begins to fade, subtle streaks of light appear on the horizon, heralding the imminent arrival of a new morning. The sky, previously enveloped in the velvety embrace of midnight, undergoes a breathtaking transformation into a canvas of pink, orange, and gold.

The splendor of Flevance, known as the White Kingdom, shines with the arrival of the first summer dawn. At last, the bleak days of unproductive and disappointing harvests are over.

The sun shines brightly over the Royal Palace, casting a luxurious glow through the opulent crimson silk curtains that adorn the king's chamber. Likewise, elaborate vases adorned with the nation's finest gold complement the scene, enriching the stark white room as dawn approaches.

In the capital of the tranquil kingdom nestled among the desert dunes, the whisper of the wind gracefully weaves through the streets, gently nudging the inhabitants to awaken. In the distance, the silhouette of trees emerges against the gradually brightening sky, their branches reaching out in a welcoming gesture.

With each passing moment, the sun's radiant rays envelop Flevance, dispelling the remnants of the night and ushering in a new morning full of possibilities yet to unfold.

The problem, however, lies in Law's total disinterest in exploring these 'possibilities.'

Instead of feeling enthusiastic, Law stares at the endlessly pale plaster ceiling with disinterested eyes, lethargically acknowledging that it is time to get up. He exhales deeply and massages his face, tired from the insomnia that plagued him last night.

After all, today marks the momentous occasion when he will meet his future, albeit unwanted, spouse. While Law recognizes the benefits this fateful union could bring to the realm and its people, he harbors a deep distaste for the concept of marriage.

Reflecting on his experiences and the principles he has absorbed over the years, Law, now approaching thirty, confidently asserts that the welfare of his kingdom must come before any personal feelings of despair. It is not a matter of choosing between the two but of understanding the nature of Flevance itself.

And yet, he remains oblivious to any knowledge of the woman he is destined to marry.

Beyond her appearance, Law remains clueless about her personality, judgment, or perspective on matters of love and appreciation. His uncertainty about this aspect troubles him inwardly, even if he does not openly admit it.

What if this woman turns out to be ruthless, or worse, bloodthirsty? Heaven forbid, he doesn't even want to think about it.

Needless to say, the thought overwhelms him. However, he understands the necessity of facing it for the prosperity and bright future of Flevance.

With a final sigh, Law rises from the bed. He gently pushes aside the pale blankets that envelop him, feeling the absence of the sleep that has eluded him. Finally, his eyes narrow as he surveys the bathing chamber, occasionally casting disapproving glances, aware that his moments of indulgence are coming to an inevitable end.

The servants will soon arrive, prompting Law to pull himself to his feet with a muffled groan. As he approaches his destination, he bitterly contemplates the unpleasant prospect of a rejected marital obligation that he has no desire to fulfill at this time.

In fact, he loathes it vehemently.

However, above all, as the ruler of a vast empire, Law must fulfill his responsibilities, even if he chooses not to accept them.

Certainly, today promises to be a memorable day.

The entire palace exudes an atmosphere of emptiness, pervaded by frivolous loneliness in every corner.

The former king, Law's father, is the only presence in the dining room, smiling innocently as he enjoys the breakfast brought by the servants. It's a poignant sight, especially since Law remembers sitting at this very table as a child, eagerly awaiting Rosinante's arrival when the man still held the throne.

"Good morning, Father," Law greets with a subtle note of politeness in his voice. "I hope you had a pleasant night's rest, blessed with uninterrupted sleep until dawn."

Rosinante looks up from his meal and gives his son a pleasant, almost celebratory look. "Ah, my favorite and only heir, hello!" he says warmly, raising a hand to wave as his smile widens. "As you can see, I started eating without you," he remarks, stating the obvious. "I hope you don't mind, but I thought it would be rude to waste the freshly prepared meal of our esteemed cook."

Law dismisses the exaggerated enthusiasm with a snort. He takes one of the many chairs in the dining room and sits down next to his father.

Leaning back against the smooth backrest, Law closes his eyes and enjoys the few remaining hours before he must meet his future wife in the main hall of the palace's Royal Chamber.

"Are you restless, Your Majesty?" Rosinante breaks the silence, dabbing at the corners of his lips with the cloth in his lap. "Today is the beginning of your married life."

Law stifles a sigh, opens his eyes, and feels the fear return to his body, momentarily stunning him into silence. From his seat at the table, he looks up at his father, unable to prevent a cautious grimace from forming on his previously neutral face.

"I still have my doubts, Father," Law mumbles, leaning back in his chair. "The Eastern Tribe is a significant threat—dangerous, fierce, and unpredictable. It's undeniable that the chief's daughter also possesses these peculiar traits." He exhales, feeling his lungs expand against his chest. "Besides, I'm not willing to put my people in unnecessary danger for hollow assurances."

Law is undoubtedly a thoughtful man. His devotion to Flevance is fervent, akin to the fiery passion of a heart aflame with intense radiance. While a king may love his realm, Law's feelings run deeper. He holds great respect, affection, and esteem for his people.

Whether in the celestial or earthly realms, Flevance will shine with brilliance under his leadership.

"Law, Flevance and its inhabitants will thank you," Rosinante says abruptly, rising to his feet and clasping his hands behind his back. "Before relinquishing my position as monarch and handing it over to you, I had the opportunity to spend several evenings with the people of the Eastern Tribe. I can confidently say that they are upstanding individuals—humble, resilient, and hardworking," he adds with a gentle smile, then shifts his gaze to one of the large windows in the dining area, adorned with ornate gilded frames. "Do you remember my words when you asked for the qualities of an honorable ruler?"

For a brief moment, Law is silent, choosing his words carefully and avoiding haste. His gaze shifts elsewhere, his eyes blinking with a hint of gloom as his discomfort grows.

"The more powerful a king becomes, the more lenient he can be with those around him," he replies, subtly watching his father out of the corner of his eye.

Rosinante nods and looks warmly at his son, bringing back memories for Law of his overwhelming excitement on that sunny spring day when he ascended to kingship. Nostalgia washes over Law, preventing him from dismissing his father's simple words with a naive shake of his head.

"Law, oh, my dear Law," Rosinante murmurs. "A king's true strength lies in his compassion," he remarks, then strides toward the main hall of the palace. "Always remember that, Your Majesty."

The sound of footsteps fades, shrouding the vast dining hall of the Royal Palace in deep silence. Unconsciously, Law rests his chin on the palm of his hand, quietly pondering his father's sage advice.

Unexpectedly, his eyes close, and the resilience he has fought so hard for gives way to a flood of hopelessness. After all, embodying courage as a ruler doesn't mean actively seeking out trouble at every turn, but it also doesn't give him the unfettered freedom to act with complete abandon.

No.

Choosing to be a courageous ruler requires sacrifice, a sacrifice Law is willing to make, even though he knows his own prosperity will quickly dissipate like an ember dying at dawn.

"Gentle, quiet, docile, extremely useful, with refined tastes and an exemplary physique," Nami says, gesturing with her index finger to emphasize her point.

Luffy dismisses his friend's crude argument with a roll of the eyes, realizing that upon closer inspection, it resembles the irritating repetition of a priest's chant.

"Okay, now it's your turn to say it."

Luffy expresses reluctance, telling Nami, "I'd rather not," as he shifts his eyes to the vast but barren horizon surrounding him.

Growing increasingly impatient, Nami decides to turn her attention in the opposite direction, where the prince's guard is lounging with a disinterested expression on his face.

"Zoro, take action and instruct Luffy to repeat my damn words," she insists with an irritated look.

Zoro stares at Nami, his lips pressed together as drowsiness begins to envelop him. He sighs deeply and raises a hand to his face, rubbing it to ward off further sleepiness.

"Viper-toungued whore," Zoro mumbles to himself.

Nami looks at him with a raised eyebrow. "Sorry, what did you say? I didn't catch that."

"Nothing, ma'am," he replies, hastily forcing the answer from his lips.

Clearing his throat, Zoro sighs for the second time in a row and shifts his gaze to the source of the problem.

"Luffy, repeat the witch's nonsense," Zoro remarks, suppressing a yawn in the middle of his sentence. "Could you fucking please?" He adds, trying to show the prince some 'respect.'

Luffy promptly answers with a firm "No."

Exhausted by the whole situation, Zoro finally gives in and puts both hands on his camel's reins, ignoring Luffy's blunt reaction.

"Well, shit. You heard what he said, Nami," he scoffs. "I tried my best, but the prince refused."

Nami clenches her fist, trying not to let the prince's stubbornness get the better of her. When her anger finally subsides, she lets out a deep sigh before casting a worried glance back at Luffy.

"Luffy, we have to take this seriously," she says. "Have you considered the benefits this alliance will bring to your people? It will ease internal conflicts, bolster the economy, deter enemies from neighboring clans, and strengthen our tribe's defenses."

Riding her camel next to Luffy's, Nami gently touches his shoulder, her expression showing concern. "As your advisor, I'm also worried about you," she continues, causing Luffy to react with a thoughtful look. "If the King of Flevance discovers your true identity, contrary to the agreement made at your father's banquet with the previous ruler, you risk facing a public execution in this foreign land far from our homeland."

Silence dominates the atmosphere, the melodies of the wind echoing among the sparse trees that surround the white desert of Flevance. Gritting his teeth, Luffy is forced to look down, focusing on the smooth back of his camel as he solemnly contemplates his friend's words.

Naturally, Luffy is a free spirit who revels in the everyday wonders of nature, like the gentle breeze caressing his face, the drops of rain patterning his tanned skin, the feel of damp grass beneath his feet, the cool of the evening, and the sleep-inducing traditional dances and songs of his tribe.

Ever since he was a child, these experiences have exhilarated him, lifted his spirits, and filled his heart with joy.

For now, however, that joy remains only a fond memory. Marriage at a young age is not on his current agenda, especially with a king ruling a distant kingdom. Nevertheless, Chief Monkey D. Dragon, Luffy's father, has agreed to let his son marry the recently crowned King of Flevance.

While the intentions may be noble and aimed at the prosperity of the Eastern Tribe, Luffy cannot shake the dark thought of marrying a ruthless, infamous, treacherous, or even sacrilegious monarch whose sole purpose is to oppress his subjects. The prospect fills him with dread, and despite his attempts to dismiss it, it persistently haunts his thoughts.

It amounts to a harrowing ordeal that refuses to subside.

"Hey, Luffy." Zoro's gruff voice interrupts his thoughts. "You know the drill," he says with a suppressed grin. "If the oh-so-mighty king discovers your true identity and tries to harm you, I will finish him off. Your father has given me the authority to do so."

He pauses for a moment before continuing. "I will not allow him to harm you or manipulate you at his whim. I swear on my life," he adds solemnly, his gaze moving forward. "But just so you know, you also have the opportunity to choose the quickest and most beneficial path for the tribe."

Nami stares at Zoro intensely, her eyes reflecting a sense of uncertainty about the true motives behind his words.

"Wait, what exactly do you mean by 'choosing the quickest and most beneficial path for the tribe'? Is there even such an option?" she asks.

Zoro licks his dry lips in response to the warmth of the desert. His attention shifts back to Luffy, and now he cannot contain his playful grin as it widens.

"Your Highness," he says confidently, "show the witch what you revealed to me the night before we left for this cursed land."

Luffy exhales heavily and rubs his neck, feeling his chest tighten. After a brief moment of anxiety, the young man slides his hand along the edge of his right pocket and pulls out a small vial of crimson liquid. He blinks and looks at Nami, a slight pout forming on his lips.

"What on earth is that?" Nami asks with a furrowed brow. "Judging by what I see, I would venture to say that the substance in this vial bears a resemblance to—"

"Poison," Zoro interjects, giving Nami a scornful look. "Usopp, the shaman of our tribe, gave it to Luffy a few days ago."

Surprised by Zoro's frank confession, Nami looks at the prince's guard, who suddenly pulls his face out of the serene atmosphere into a smug expression.

"Are you out of your mind, you imbecile?! We cannot assassinate a king without clear justification!" She shouts, her voice rising. "We will provoke an external conflict without any military defense on our part."

Zoro sighs tiredly. "Oh, spare me the damn joke!" He scoffs. "An incompetent king from the northern desert is unworthy of our precious resources or the prince's innocence. Instead, he deserves nothing but a long, painful death at the hands of our entire tribe." He rests a hand on his hip, caressing the scabbard of one of his prized swords, the Shusui. "The ominous blade longs to spill northern blood. Putrid, vile demon blood."

"Zoro—"

"What? Have you erased the memory of the atrocities the Northern Kingdoms committed against the Eastern Tribe?" Zoro lets out a growl, accented with contempt. "Infants engulfed in flames as their cries pierced the sky, women whipped as their throats were cut, warriors massacred without remorse... Your own mother, my best friend, and Luffy's brothers."

A new wave of silence envelops them, but this one proves unforgiving, assaulting the ears of all present with its irreparable emptiness.

Luffy is the first to raise his eyes, experiencing a fear that echoes his childhood shock at seeing the mutilated bodies of his older brothers. He bravely meets the gaze of his two companions, displaying the confidence and willpower that the young prince had long ago abandoned during the massacre of his tribe.

But unlike his childhood, this time Luffy is determined to fight back.

"As the future chief, I carry the remnants of our tribe's past on my shoulders," he mumbles, his eyes dark but sharp once more. "The shattered hopes of our fallen comrades weigh heavily on me. If marriage is what it takes to regain the respect of my tribe, then so be it," he declares, adjusting his cloak to shield himself from the blazing sun.

With a sigh, Luffy continues, "If disguising myself as a woman is necessary to honor our deceased, then so be it." He swallows, his eyes full of determination. "Even if it means killing the King of Flevance and carrying his blood on my hands to ease the suffering of my friends, then so be it."

With no objections from his companions, Luffy allows himself a confident smile as he gazes into the distance, his eyes fixed on the tallest spire of the Royal Palace of Flevance. A sense of calm finally envelops him, and the breeze brings a refreshing coolness to his face, which is more tan than usual from the relentless glare of the sun.

Ultimately, the prince's resolve reflects the fervent desire of his loyal servants.

"Oh, man! This is going to be so much fun," Zoro says with a grin, and Luffy can only agree with a firm nod.

"I see her as a stunning, elegant, resilient, hardworking, organized, and kind woman," Sanji remarks, his gaze softening. "With an indomitable spirit and a true heart," he adds with a slight click of his tongue, resigning himself with a shrug. "God, I envy you so much, you lucky son of a bitch."

Law rolls his eyes and gives his royal cook an irritated look, feeling his patience wearing thin with each passing moment.

"If envy consumes you so, Sanji-ya," he scoffs, blinking rapidly, "why not marry her? Considering you're a prince exiled from your homeland, you probably have experience in such matters, unlike me," he sighs, resting a firm hand under his chin as he gazes out at the landscape. "Besides, I doubt your complicated history would trouble Her Highness too much, assuming her heart is as true as you claim."

Sanji grimaces at Law, both hands on his hips. "What's your fucking problem, Law?" The cook replies, his anger evident in his words. "The beautiful princess of the Eastern Tribe, destined to be your wife, has not even had the chance to show you the joy of being captivated. Don't be so ungrateful," he snorts, running a hand through his golden hair. "Besides, Your Majesty, a lady should not be dismissed so easily. A weak man does not deserve a strong woman; that's an undeniable truth."

Though Law doesn't really judge the princess based on her ancestry, she is presented as a twisted concern arising from a complex situation in which Flevance and the Eastern Tribe are strangely intertwined.

By royal decree, this union isn't merely a frivolous affair but a significant event. It will unite two regions, facilitate bilateral trade in goods and resources, merge two distinct cultures, bridge two disparate societies, and, most importantly, reconcile two divergent hearts.

Hence, for the sake of his kingdom, Law must be absolutely meticulous in this matter.

"Sanji-ya," Law says casually, "marriage is not a fleeting emotion; it is a permanent commitment." He looks at Sanji and pauses for effect. "Typically, two resilient individuals rarely experience a harmonious marriage at the same time. But when they do, they take turns being there for each other in moments of vulnerability."

With a half-smile, Law turns his gaze back to the serene landscape of his kingdom. "Don't you see? I don't want to think like my wife; I want to think with her. I don't have to be strong to ask for her hand; I only have to be brave." He puts his hands in his lap and takes a deep breath. "Tell me, dear cook, does that make me weak?"

Sanji is taken aback and allows a smug grin to creep across his face. It's not the first time Law has surprised him with such a convincing monologue, but it's the first time in a while that Law has taken the liberty to be sincere—to show the courage to be real.

This encapsulates his essence. This is His Majesty, the devoted ruler of Flevance.

"Not at all, Sire," Sanji replies, chuckling softly as he pulls a cigarette out of his pocket. "That makes you an exemplary ruler."

The chamber is spacious, with a polished floor, walls adorned with delicate mother-of-pearl accents, a ceiling draped in white cloth, and numerous windows framed by priceless gilded moldings that offer majestic views of the kingdom. Even the Eastern Homelands lack the grandeur of the extravagant bath in the Visitors' Lounge.

It's incredibly beautiful, even for someone as unsophisticated as Luffy.

"For heaven's sake, the floor glows," Zoro remarks, his eye widening in surprise. "Even after I polish it, this darn floor glows more than the Wado Ichimonji. I can't believe it."

Nami nods in amazement. "Holy shit, do you think we can steal those tiles?" she murmurs, pointing to the whitish floor. "I bet they're worth a fortune, more than what we have in our pockets. We wouldn't have to rely on Luffy to marry the king, and we could probably prevent his unnecessary death."

Before either Luffy or Zoro can answer, a sudden knock at the door startles everyone in the room. Without hesitation, Nami grabs one of the wrapped satin gowns from the luggage, dresses Luffy in it, along with a matching cloak, and pulls it over the prince's head, covering most of his face except for his eyes and part of his nose.

The gown cascades down to his feet and skims the floor. The image he sees in the mirror is unfamiliar, but Luffy cannot deny the allure of a tribal woman's ceremonial attire. It defines his waist and streamlines his narrow shoulders, a contrast to his usual worn clothes.

Luffy looks so innocent and feminine, which is exactly what the King of Flevance must think of him.

"Do not take off your gown under any circumstances, flutter your eyelashes, be quiet, and soften your gaze when the king addresses you, okay?" Nami warns, locking eyes with Luffy. "That way, he won't suspect that you are not a woman, at least until the betrothal ceremony is over." She puts her hands on Luffy's shoulders, her hazel eyes flickering with fear. "The poisoned dagger is hidden under your gown. Use it when the king is asleep. Do you understand?"

Luffy nods and signals his agreement with a thumbs-up. Nami takes a deep breath and steps away from him, making her way to the door. She opens it with a solemn expression on her face and looks at one of the numerous palace servants.

"The king awaits you in the main hall of the palace's Royal Chamber," he announces, his distinctive northern accent emphasizing his words. "Allow me the privilege of escorting you so that His Majesty may greet you and commence the betrothal ceremony."

Setting aside his obvious dislike, Zoro approaches the prince, extends his forearm, and, with a silent look, suggests that they leave the room together.

"Would you grant me the esteemed privilege of being your guard once again, My Lady?" Zoro jokes sharply, causing Nami to roll her eyes and Luffy to chuckle.

Within moments, however, Luffy grabs Zoro's forearm, and his gaze shifts forward. He lets out a shaky sigh and feels the tension in his chest dissipate.

Finally, the time has come.

Law stands with Rosinante, waiting for the chief's daughter to arrive in the main hall. At first, he didn't expect his nerves to get the better of him, but now he is afraid and worried about what lies ahead. In the distance, he hears the procession of the princess's entourage, their footsteps echoing like a rushing tide of sand. Unexpectedly, his heart races in his chest, and his usually cold hands become clammy with sweat. Confronting himself, Law decides to clasp them behind his back, aiming to exude confidence.

"Don't be nervous, my precious son." Rosinante murmurs softly into Law's ear as he pats him gently on the shoulder. "You will excel; I have every confidence in you."

Before Law can refute his father's words, the two guards stationed in the main hall quickly swing open the great marble doors to reveal a palace servant. The young man kneels and announces the princess' arrival before disappearing down the vast white corridor. Law takes a deep breath, closes his eyes for a moment, then opens them to look back at the entrance to the hall.

Calm down; you can do this, he tells himself, knowing that peace will not come easily.

When Law's golden eyes catch sight of his future bride, he can't help but blink and raise an eyebrow. Dressed in a form-fitting gown and hooded cloak, the young woman clutches the forearm of her supposed guard and moves at a quick, almost inconspicuous pace.

However, it is the princess's puzzled expression that catches Law's eye. Her eyes remain fixed on the ground, and her anxious walk across the main hall betrays her. Is she frightened?

Frightened of him?

"Your Highness," his father says, bowing respectfully. "I welcome you to our lands and to the heart of Flevance, our kingdom."

A tense silence settles over the hall afterward, heavy beneath the watchful eyes of nobles and servants alike. Law notices the way the princess stiffens beside her guard, her gloved fingers tightening faintly around his arm as though she were bracing herself. Even beneath the shadow of her hood, he catches the subtle rise and fall of her breathing. Nervous. Definitely nervous.

"On behalf of the Eastern Tribe, we apologize, but the princess is currently fatigued from the arduous and long journey," the orange-haired woman replies, mirroring Rosinante's movements. "Nevertheless, I can assure you, My Lord, that Her Highness truly appreciates the gracious reception."

Rosinante nods, offering a half-smile as he gestures reassuringly with his hand. "I can sympathize with that," he whispers, shifting his gaze to the princess. "In any case, it is a privilege to welcome you, Your Highness, daughter of the Chief of the Eastern Tribe, Monkey D. Dragon, to the Palace of the White Kingdom." He points to the sturdy partitions that give the walls an authentic appearance. "We have arranged everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Please make yourself at home, My Lady."

In response, the princess offers a slight bow, briefly tilting her head to the side before straightening and resuming her lowered gaze. Law furrows his brow, unable to shake his suspicions about her limited interaction with Rosinante.

After a moment's pause, Law feels his father's watchful gaze upon him, and much like earlier in the day, he cannot hide his lack of enthusiasm. Exhaling, the king moves forward, taking measured steps toward the abbreviated route to his future bride.

"Your Highness," Law says, kneeling on the ground and extending his hand, "would you do me the honor of giving me your hand in marriage?"

When silence falls and his hand remains unclasped, Law has no choice but to raise his eyes from the floor. Instantly, his eyebrows arch, and his previously straight mouth falls open at the sight unfolding before him.

They are breathtaking. Those extravagant obsidian eyes, like nocturnal swamps, glow with absolute brilliance. They shimmer with the rhythm of the present, akin to magnificent stars of radiance. Law has never seen such fearless eyes, poised for battle, ready to attack and sacrifice in the midst of a ruthless war. They dissolve the intensity of ice and solidify the fervor of fire.

Law looks at her, noting not only her bravery but also the fact that she has finally reached out to him. Now her hand rests on his.

The princess's hand is not delicate or distant, but rather strong and inviting. It's as if, of all the courage present, only hers, as his current wife, shines through.

The banquet is neither lavish nor meager; it's rather varied, featuring both northern regional dishes and eastern foreign cuisines. Luffy should find this idea intriguing, but he doesn't—not because he thinks it's absurd, but because he can't afford to take off the cloak that covers his face in front of his now-husband.

It would be too risky.

However, if, by some stroke of luck, the king remains unaware, Luffy is confident that Nami will take matters into her own hands and deal with him herself.

Just the thought of it makes him shudder.

"Your Highness, are you feeling unwell?" the king asks beside him, causing Luffy to clench his jaw. "You haven't eaten yet. Shall I ask our royal cook to prepare something special for your taste?"

As Luffy considers his options, he puts aside the idea of eating and focuses on finding a solution to alleviate his current situation. His eyes widen in astonishment as he realizes that, of course, there are no viable alternatives to save himself.

He is screwed.

"Return all the bottles of wine or face my wrath!" An angry voice from another man interrupts his contemplation, causing his gaze to shift away from the table.

"Oh, really?" Zoro replies with a smirk. "That sounds promising. Bring it on, Swirly Brows."

The blond looks at Zoro and tries not to act impulsively. Luffy isn't quite sure, but he thinks he sees the cook's teeth sinking into his lips, causing a small pool of blood to appear.

"Who do you think you are, Mosshead?" He hisses, clutching Zoro's broad shoulder. "You enter my kitchen without permission, steal the wines I use to flavor my roasts, and dare to joke in my presence?" His expression darkens, his eyes narrowing into a scowl of fury. "Fuck you, you miserable and uncultured barbarian."

The smug smile quickly fades, and Zoro adopts an angry, almost animalistic expression in its place. Much like the cook, he grips the pale, slender wrist that clutches his shoulder with deep-seated resentment.

Zoro snarls, purposefully licking the remnants of one of the wines he 'borrowed' from the kitchen off his lips.

"If you want me to fuck off so badly, then force me to," he says, taking a step forward. "Pretty boy."

Frustrated, the cook succumbs to Zoro's provocations. "You bastard, I swear I'll—"

"Sanji-ya."

Once again, Luffy glances to the side and catches a glimpse of the king's menacing figure casting a warning look at his cook.

Even though the silent rebuke is not aimed directly at him, Luffy feels the pressure tighten around his neck like a noose. He reluctantly acknowledges that his husband can dominate everyone else at will, a realization that weighs more heavily on Luffy than it should.

Especially when he looks so damn attractive while doing it.

"We will renovate the wine cellar," the king assures Sanji with a firmly raised hand, a gesture of reassurance. "You have my word."

Sanji's eyes narrow as his visible anger fades. Suddenly, he pulls away from Zoro, freeing his wrist from the tribesman's tight grip. With one last look at him, he strides down the side of the dining hall, letting out a discontented snort before disappearing completely.

The king sighs heavily and rubs his face in impatience. He looks at Luffy, who mistakenly meets his eyes.

"Shall we retire to our chambers?" he asks hesitantly. "I want to show you the rest of the kingdom in the morning."

Restlessly, Luffy tries to scan the crowd for Nami's gaze but finds his friend engrossed in playing cards with the group of guards nearby.

Nami, you traitor! He cannot help but think hastily as he watches his advisor bet all of their remaining money.

With a deep sigh, he finally raises his eyes to the king, and, following Nami's instructions—the traitor's instructions—he softens his gaze while nodding slightly.

Luffy can't be sure, but he knows that this will be the longest night of his life.

This chamber is much larger than the Visitor's Lounge—the curtains are of the finest cloth; the floor, surprisingly, shines almost as brightly as the stars outside; the windows are worth more than his own skin; the walls are decorated with snowy stripes; and the bed is huge, covered with the finest sheets and feather pillows.

Luffy is nervous. In fact, he is highly strung.

His heart is racing to the rhythm of the desert cicadas, and to make matters worse, he's starving. However, with a bed that rivals the finest in the Seven Seas, perhaps taking a moment to rest his eyes won't be so terrible. After all, now that he's finally his husband, it's his job to kill the king.

This time, he cannot fail Zoro. He cannot fail Nami. And, most importantly, he cannot fail his people. Not again.

Quickly, the king closes the door, walks to the side of the bed, and sits down, breathing heavily. Without warning, he begins to remove his clothes, revealing sharp traces of dark tattoos etched into his tanned skin. At the sight, Luffy shifts his gaze to look into the distance, his cheeks flushing with surprise.

To be honest, it's not the first time Luffy has seen tattoos, but he has to admit that these particular ones are beautiful. The man who has them is beautiful himself, with molten eyes and hair bathed in the puddles of the night.

Luffy can't stop staring at him.

The realization only makes the heat crawling up his neck worse. His grip tightens beneath the cloak wrapped around him, fingers curling into the fabric while his thoughts stumble over themselves in complete betrayal. He should look away. He really should. But every time his eyes drift elsewhere, they end up finding the king again, tracing the dark ink disappearing beneath bronzed skin.

After a moment, and despite the over-the-top show, Luffy's momentary trance is broken when the king hideously takes off his pants, leaving him in nothing but his loincloth.

Immediately, Luffy's blush deepens, and even the cloak covering his face cannot hide the bright crimson color of his cheeks.

"What is it, Your Highness?" The king asks after a short pause, moving to the side. "Aren't you going to join me in bed?"

The unexpected words that come out of his lips startle Luffy—will he have to undress as well? If so, he cannot deny that a part of him is now afraid, while the other part is reluctantly excited.

But as always, Luffy won't let any challenge pass him by.

Suppressing a shuddering sigh, Luffy moves to the opposite side of the king and finds the bed unoccupied. After a moment's hesitation, he slowly sits down, apprehension gripping his heart.

"We will not proceed," the king announces abruptly. "We will not consummate the marriage, if that is your concern," he adds, leaning back on his side of the bed and resting his head on a pillow. "At least not until you ask me to."

Luffy turns around and looks at his husband with confused eyes, almost overwhelmed by the situation.

"After all, even if our only goal as spouses is to produce heirs, a man cannot bear children," the king remarks, giving Luffy a knowing smile. "Is that not true, my husband?"

Swiftly reacting to the unexpected accusation, Luffy springs into action.

Removing the annoying cloak that covers his head, the prince steps onto the mattress and tries to subdue the king's massive frame with his own. Having accomplished this task, Luffy grabs the king's wrists with one hand and pins them to the headboard. With his other hand free, Luffy pulls out the sharp dagger hidden under his satin gown and brings it closer to the king's throat.

"Oh, dear," the king mumbles, completely unsurprised by the revelation. "Sanji-ya was right. I have indeed been captivated by you."

"I'll slit your throat! That'll shut you up!" Luffy hisses, gradually edging the tip of the dagger closer to the king's jugular.

Instead of pleading for his miserable life, the king gives a subtle chuckle and glares at Luffy from below.

"You're beautiful," he whispers, his eyes softening.

Luffy looks at him in disbelief. His breathing is uneven, and the hand holding the dagger is shaking.

For a second, the entire room feels unbearably still. Why is the king not afraid? Luffy might have expected some kind of reaction, but certainly not this one.

The warmth in those stunning eyes unsettles him far more than hatred would have. It crawls beneath his skin, making his chest tighten painfully.

Unconsciously, he begins to falter, an action that is not unexpected under the current circumstances.

"What are your intentions toward me?" The prince's voice falters, his lips quivering.

The king shrugs, rolling his eyes and breathing steadily as if his hands had never been raised above his head.

"I have no intention of attacking you, if that is what you want to know," the other man replies in a neutral tone. "But what about you?" He challenges. "If you intend to slit my throat, do it quickly. My patience is wearing thin, and sleep is beginning to take hold of me."

With Luffy's restlessness gone, confusion now fills the void.

He scans the king's face for signs of deception or malice, but despite his thorough examination, Luffy finds nothing. Only when he looks down does the prince realize that he's standing on his husband's lap, clutching a sharp dagger, and breathing defiantly.

Feeling the familiar touch of shame on his skin, Luffy pulls away from the king and sits down on his side of the bed. For the moment, he refrains from speaking or meeting the other man's gaze, realizing that it might provoke negative remarks, though he does not wish to convey himself in such a manner.

However, upon noticing the king's sidelong glance, Luffy finds himself reciprocating the same scrutiny.

A deep, calm silence envelops the room. Heavy curtains barely let in the moonlight, which casts a soft silvery glow on the walls. A candle flickers faintly in the corner, its flame dancing gracefully in the still air.

At that, the king arches his eyebrows, exhaling deeply as he watches Luffy warily.

"Is that so?" He replies with a snort, sitting up on the mattress. "Well, in that case, I guess we are both confused," he observes. "Because I certainly didn't expect you to be a man."

Luffy looks at his husband's back. It's subtly stiff, and the captivating tattoo that adorns it undulates with the movement of his muscles, creating glowing lines along his skin.

"How did you know I was a man, then?" Luffy throws the dagger, which lands in a secluded corner of the room. "I was ready to end your life at any cost."

The king's grin radiates warmth as it meets Luffy's gaze. Not surprisingly, Luffy is thrilled by the sheer genius of his expression—a look so exquisitely drawn that it leaves the prince in awe.

"You are brave, but not evil. Even if you intended to end my life, your sincere heart would prevent it," the king notes, the corners of his lips tightening into a straight line. "Besides, it took me only a few moments to examine you from head to toe," he continues, turning around, his arm draped over the bedspread. "Your hands were calloused, and your eyes told a different story. You're not very good at deception, are you?"

Uncertain of how to respond to that, Luffy chooses to avert his eyes to prevent the king from further mocking the embarrassing situation.

The mattress shifts slightly beside him afterward, the movement drawing Luffy's attention despite himself. When Luffy risks a glance, he finds the king already watching him with that heavy, unreadable stare that makes his stomach twist strangely.

"By the way, I want to make this clear, My Lord," his husband interjects, breaking the lingering silence once more. "I am not a good person."

Upon hearing this, Luffy's eyes widen in surprise, and he tilts his head to the side, one eyebrow raised in curiosity.

"Are you going to eliminate me now that you know I'm not a woman?" Luffy asks with a hint of uncertainty, trying to suppress his nervousness.

"No," the king answers promptly and without hesitation.

"Are you going to torture my friends?"

"No."

"Are you going to hold my people in contempt?"

"No."

In response, Luffy's youthful grin spreads across his lips, calming his nerves as his heart speeds up, energized by the moment. At the same time, a wave of excitement sweeps through him, invigorating his spirit.

"You're right, King of Flevance; you're not a good person," Luffy says, smiling as he looks into his husband's eyes. "Because you transcend that."

The king takes a breath. "No, you misunderstand. I see your innocence is obvious, little prince," he states, rising to his feet. "Still, it is basic human decency."

Luffy shakes his head in disagreement.

"Before he died, my grandfather told me that evil men lack basic human decency," the prince replies with a somber expression. "None of the northern kings have shown any to our tribe, except King Rosinante."

The words hang in the air a little longer than they should, like they carry weight beyond simple respect. Luffy's brows knit slightly as he processes it, eyes drifting over Law’s expression as if searching for any hint of what he's supposed to think about that statement. But the king doesn't elaborate. He simply watches him, calm and unreadable.

A quiet settles over their chamber again, the only sound the faint rustle of fabric as Luffy shifts his weight on the bed, swinging one leg idly over the edge. It feels weird—actually, really weird. He isn't accustomed to being this silent for this long.

To Luffy's surprise, his husband strides across the bed, moving toward him with the grace of a wildcat crossing the savannah. Positioning himself in front of him, the king takes the lead, lowering himself to the floor with one knee on the floor and the other leaning against it. He extends his hand and looks at Luffy with a gentle, almost wistful expression.

"Prince of the Eastern Tribe," the king says suddenly, his voice ringing with authority, "we cannot forge an alliance until we have uncovered the full history of each of our territories. Therefore, I will align my intentions with yours." He brings his hand closer, pausing for a moment to regain his composure. "My Lord, would you do me the honor of giving me your hand in marriage?"

Luffy's initial fascination turns to exhilaration, igniting a bright, childlike smile that effortlessly graces his features. His eyes sparkle with anticipation, reflecting the burgeoning excitement within him as he eagerly awaits the unfolding events.

"Are you going to betray me?"

"Never."

Finally, Luffy's grin breaks out, and his feet spring into action as he stands at full height on the ground, his body leaning forward and his face dangerously close to his husband's. Without hesitation, Luffy reaches out and tenderly intertwines his fingers with the king's bony ones.

"We're allies now, and yet I don't know your name," Luffy mumbles, his smile widening. "I'm Monkey D. Luffy, by the way."

The king nods his head, a little surprised by Luffy's sudden enthusiasm. "My name is Trafalgar D. Water Law," he says, squeezing Luffy's hand slightly.

Luffy moves cautiously, placing his other hand on Law's strong, exposed shoulder. His expression softens, and the calm in his heart gives way to the rekindled flutter in his chest.

"Shishishi!" Luffy laughs. "Torao, your name is quite unique!"

Luffy has a vague feeling that Zoro might react badly to the news.

Today, the first rays of sunlight filter through the partially opened curtains, lightly illuminating the dining room. The scent of freshly prepared food wafts through the air, intertwined with the soft murmur of the breeze outside the palace.

In the quiet of the morning, Luffy and Zoro sit at the dining table and enjoy their breakfast, although it seems that only Luffy is really enjoying it.

As eager as ever, Luffy indulges in each of the delicacies before him, a steaming cup of tea at his side. His gaze is drawn to the textures of the pastries and the exquisite preparation of the roasts, immersing himself in new wonders waiting to be tasted.

On the other side of the table, Zoro watches the prince intently with a hint of shadow in his eye. His face reflects impatience as he processes the latest revelation Luffy has just given him.

Amid sips of tea and the gentle whisper of the white sand outside, the morning stillness has a comforting familiarity.

However, as expected, the peace doesn't last long.

"So, what are your thoughts, Zoro?" Luffy asks, looking at Zoro expectantly. "I must be a genius, don't you think?"

Zoro just stares at him for a long second. Completely still. Then his eye twitches. Slowly, he drags a hand down his face like he's trying to decide whether to respond or walk straight into the nearest wall and end it there. Luffy, meanwhile, leans forward a little, waiting with open curiosity, totally unfazed by the silence.

"By the fucking gods, are you an idiot?!" Zoro finally snaps after a beat, his anger palpable.

Luffy blinks and shrugs nonchalantly as he puts the piece of meat in his hand into his mouth.

"Not that I know of," he replies simply, "what about you, Zoro? Are you an idiot?"

In response, Zoro clenches his jaw and puts his hand to his face, giving Luffy an annoyed, almost uncomfortable look.

"This is no time for ignorance, Luffy," Zoro lectures, crossing his arms and snorting. "How in the world can you trust that usurper cunt of a king?"

The prince looks at his guard with indifference, his expression calm, without worry or suspicion. "Torao said he wouldn't betray me," he mentions, turning his attention back to his food.

"And you actually believed him? You're as naive as a damn child!"

Luffy understands that Zoro's distrust is rational. After living in the shadow of other rulers for so long, distrusting someone who reaches out to his 'enemies' without ulterior motives is an idealistic fantasy far removed from the current reality.

It's nothing but a vain daydream.

But now that he and Law are allies—friends, from Luffy's point of view—Luffy has decided to trust him with absolutely everything.

"Yes, Zoro. I believed him, and I still do," Luffy says, hastily swallowing the wild blackberry muffin resting on his other hand. "He really is a good man," he remarks, closing his eyes with a childish smile on his lips. "He even called me beautiful, you know."

Zoro sighs wearily. "Wait till you see what I am going to call you, you bastard," he mumbles to himself.

Promptly, the dining room falls into a deep, uneasy silence, barely broken by the faint clink of silverware against porcelain. The chairs are neatly arranged around the table, their shadows projected by the bright light streaming in from outside.

Luffy doesn't usually focus on such things, but he sees a mixture of suppressed emotions reflected in Zoro's face: anger, resentment, maybe even a touch of melancholy. Furtive glances cross each other occasionally, but no words find the courage to escape the lips sealed by silence.

"Zoro, my loyal and dearest guard," Luffy says abruptly, clearing his throat, "do you really trust me with your heart?"

Without hesitation, Zoro rises from the chair and gracefully kneels on the polished floor. He bows his head, gently closes his eye, and places his clenched fist on the left side of his chest, where his heart resides.

"Not only with my heart, but also with my life, Your Highness," Zoro answers firmly. "I will accompany you to the farthest reaches of the Seven Seas and even to my deathbed. Your wish is my command, My Lord, even if you turn out to be a fool."

Luffy smiles softly. "I've told you a thousand times not to kneel before me. You are my friend; hence, you are my equal. A mere title has no significance," he chuckles, taking a sip of his tea. "Please stand up, Zoro. We're having breakfast, and it's undoubtedly delicious; wouldn't you agree?"

Zoro rises from the floor and stands upright, following Luffy's orders. He rubs his neck and looks at the spread on the table.

"I guess you're right, for once," he answers with a nod of his head. "I'm so hungry I could eat a horse."

With a satisfied smile, Zoro pulls out a chair and settles into it, enjoying the cushioned comfort beneath him.

Reaching for the serving dishes, Zoro's fingers glide over the smooth surfaces of the silverware. He scoops generous portions onto his plate, savoring the rich colors and tantalizing aromas that greet him.

With each bite, the flavors dance across his palate, filling him with a deep sense of contentment. The chatter of Luffy's approving comments surrounds him, punctuated by laughter and the gentle clinking of utensils against porcelain.

Then, suddenly, a wave of uncertainty replaces the comforting feeling of nourishment.

"But how can you be so sure, Luffy?"

Luffy perks up, confused. "Huh?"

"How can you be so sure that the king is really a good man and true to his words?"

At that, Luffy's eyes sparkle with excitement, and this time his lips curl into a smile that is much wider than before.

"My instinct told me, and you know it has never failed me," he replies, returning to his previous task of devouring the cream puffs with chocolate sauce on top.

Of course, Zoro thinks, shaking his head.

Undeterred by Luffy's steadfastness, Zoro finds the will to relax his shoulders and leans back on the large dining room chair. Eventually, he raises his eye to the intricately designed slate ceiling and ponders the prince's statement.

Before either of them can speak, the kitchen door swings open to reveal a jubilant Sanji in conversation with Nami, the prince's advisor. Nami acknowledges the cook's words with a nod of her head, while Sanji, as kind as ever, returns the gesture with a charming smile of his own.

Upon seeing the scene, Zoro clenches his fists while looking at Sanji, prompting Luffy to observe the newcomers who stop in front of the table and turn their attention to the prince and his guard.

"Why the long faces, boys?" Nami sneers, suppressing a giggle.

Luffy continues to eat, chewing heartily before swallowing his food again. "I think Zoro's mad at me," he says between bites, pointing his fork in Zoro's direction. "But don't mention it to him; he tends to get pretty grumpy about it."

"What? That's not true!" Zoro defends himself, rolling his eye in anger. "I was just a little surprised by your sudden decision to ally with the damn king."

"Shishishi, you see?" Luffy grins slightly. "He got pretty grumpy, didn't he?"

"Oh, please, just leave me the fuck alone!" Zoro yells, rubbing his face in frustration.

"All right, that's enough, both of you," Nami says, putting her hands on her hips. "More importantly, I won the lottery against the guards last night. We're rich now!"

"You are rich now," Zoro corrects with a curled lip. "Now shut up and go to hell, witch. You're as annoying as a bloody newborn."

At that moment, Sanji raises his eyes and gives Zoro a disdainful look, his expression changing to a frown of displeasure.

"Watch your language, Moss. Ladies deserve respect," Sanji hisses, stomping assertively on the ground. "Control your filthy tongue, or I'll teach you a lesson next time."

Zoro scoffs. "Is that a threat, Curly?"

"No, it is a warning."

Zoro holds eye contact with Sanji, exuding a defiant intensity as his lips form a tight line. Unyielding, Sanji meets Zoro's gaze with equal determination, his eyes flashing with deep-seated animosity.

A heavy silence hangs over the scene as the two men face each other, neither showing any inclination to back down. Luffy watches the standoff with great interest, his cheeks bulging with food, while Nami, clearly frustrated, wipes her forehead with her hand.

A light breeze whispers through the morning air, adding to the tense atmosphere surrounding them all. Emotions hang heavy in the charged silence, with resentment and hatred flowing like an unwelcome undercurrent between Zoro and Sanji.

"I dare you to say that again," Zoro snarls, rising from his seat on the table. "Or what? Have you given in yet, princess?"

Sanji stands his ground and replies, "Oh, you wish, don't you?" with a grin spreading across his face. "You're not even close to my level, you brute. Don't overestimate yourself."

"You're right, pretty boy. I am not on your level," Zoro agrees with a deep chuckle. "Because I am ahead of you." He taps the scabbards of his three swords and nods subtly. "Tell me, which sword do you think will slice your delicate neck more slowly? I bet your head would make a perfect ornament in my chamber, wouldn't it?"

Before Sanji can answer, Luffy's ecstatic voice abruptly interrupts him.

"Ah, Sanji!" Luffy exclaims happily, his admiration evident. "Your food is the best I have ever tasted! It is so good!"

Hearing this, Sanji smiles softly and looks at Luffy with a satisfied expression on his face.

"It's pretty damn tasty, isn't it?"

Luffy nods vigorously. "Of course it is, silly! I think I've even fallen in love with it," he says, holding up his plate and offering it to Sanji. "I'll have seconds, please!"

"But you just ate the whole spread, Your Highness. Aren't you full yet?" Sanji remarks, taking the plate anyway.

"Nonsense!" Luffy denies. "There's no such thing as being full!" he adds, rubbing his stomach. "I can stuff myself with tons of food and never feel satisfied."

Sanji smiles warmly. "Is that so?" he murmurs, then starts to move away from the table. "In that case, I'll cook for you whenever you want. I am at your service, My Lord."

With one last amusing gesture, Sanji leaves the dining room and hurries to the kitchen.

After a short pause, Nami sighs. "Do you all lack filters?" she huffs, sitting in one of the chairs.

In response, Zoro shrugs nonchalantly.

"The damn cook instigated it," he replies, crossing his arms over his chest. "So please stop giving me those accusing looks. They do not work at all."

Nami takes a deep breath, shakes her head, and rests her elbows on the table. She looks at her two companions and conveys her disappointment with a readable expression.

"Well, at least King Law is our ally now," she remarks with a subtle smile. "He possesses immense power and is known as the foremost strategist on the Seven Seas. With his support, we can rest assured that no evil empire from the North will ever threaten us again."

Zoro raises an eyebrow. "You seem to be taking this alliance shit rather lightly," he says, his tone tinged with suspicion. "I expected you to be more upset."

"That's because I already knew it would happen," Nami replies nonchalantly, pouring herself a cup of tea.

"Oh, so you—wait a damn minute!" Zoro suddenly shouts, slamming his hands onto the table. "Are you telling me that you already knew that Luffy and the king would form an alliance?"

Nami nods dryly. "Of course I knew, you fool. His Majesty's father informed me last night at the banquet," she confesses, taking a sip of her tea. "I assumed that my reassurance would serve as a sufficient indication for both of you to understand that the king's demise would no longer be necessary to protect our tribe."

At this, Luffy and Zoro exchange a worried look and nod in agreement while blinking at the same time. Meanwhile, Nami raises her eyebrows at her companions' confused expressions.

"What?" Nami asks, starting to get anxious. "Did I miss something?"

"Oh no, not at all! You missed nothing, Nami," Luffy answers after a short pause. "It's just... well," he sighs and rubs his neck. "I guess it's a good thing I didn't kill him, huh?"

Realizing the implications of Luffy's confession, Nami's eyes widen, and her mouth falls open in astonishment.

"Luffy, you son of a—"

"Your Highness," a voice that is as deep as it is soft speaks unexpectedly, causing the shiver from last night to return to Luffy's spine. He nibbles at his lower lip, trying to resist the heavy tension that encircles his neck.

When he lifts his eyes, their gazes cross briefly, causing a small bead of sweat to form on Luffy's temple. Even though the alliance between the two countries was solidified almost a day ago, the prince is still getting used to his husband's piercing voice, a radiant melody that only causes a slight flutter in his stomach.

"I know this is rather sudden, but I would like to talk to you," Law continues, reluctantly scratching the back of his neck. "Would you care to join me for a quick stroll around the kingdom?"

There are many hidden surprises in the White Kingdom.

The people exude a hospitality similar to Flevance's weather; the cuisine is delicious; and the ambiance is cozy and reminiscent of home. There is no trace of discord among the inhabitants, nor is there any unnecessary division.

It's truly delightful, at least from Luffy's perspective, as he and Law stroll along the kingdom's white curbs.

"Flevance... Your kingdom," Luffy murmurs, taking in the pristine landscape around him, "is remarkably beautiful. It resembles Wonderland."

"Wonderland, you say?" Law asks, pursing his lips.

Luffy nods. "Wonderland. It's a story the shamans told us in our youth." He smiles quickly and clasps his hands behind his back. "It tells of the journey of an opportunist in search of an adventure unlike any other, traversing a realm full of extraordinary creatures and elements," he exhales deeply, feeling his heart slowly breaking. "I was so envious. I longed to explore lands beyond my homeland, but the incessant invasions from the North thwarted any such opportunity."

Sunlight filters through the fluffy clouds in the sky, casting a gentle warmth over the kingdom below. On a corner of one of its charming streets, Law watches Luffy intently as he surveys his surroundings.

Law smiles tenderly at the sight.

"You don't have to worry about that anymore. You're free now," Law says quietly. "You are free to act as you wish. Here with me, you can really be yourself." He looks around, his eyes softening when he feels Luffy's gaze on him. "Here with you, I can be myself, too."

On this quiet evening, the leaves of the scattered trees sway gently in the summer breeze, creating a melody that complements Luffy's serenity. The murmuring of a nearby stream adds to the peaceful atmosphere as Luffy's eyes follow Law with unfamiliar, indescribable emotions.

'You're free now,'  Law just told him.

But Luffy can hardly believe it. He is too overwhelmed with joy.

"This," Law continues, gesturing to the surroundings of his realm, "is yours now. Here you are neither enemy nor barbarian nor slave," he notes, his expression serious. "You are my husband, and as my first command, I want you to be free."

Luffy gazes longingly at the children of the kingdom as they play, laugh, and revel in their innocence without the specter of death looming over them. This is how it should be: the children laughing, the fathers working quietly, and the mothers going about their tasks with that characteristic maternal tenderness. This is how it should have been. His land, the Eastern Tribe, deserved better—a rustic haven of hope, sustenance, and tranquility under clear skies teeming with life.

As he closes his eyes, Luffy is suddenly transported back in time—to a time when his home still exuded the essence of nature. A time when the gentle whisper of the wind caressed the leaves of the ancient trees that surrounded his tribe's territory. A time when wildflowers in a vibrant palette of colors swayed in harmony with the breeze, creating an enchanting picture that delighted the senses.

He remembers how the river near his village flowed with a constant melody, its crystal-clear waters reflecting the golden glow of the setting sun. The animals of the land shared an unspoken understanding with the humans, coexisting in harmony in the green paradise. Every nook and cranny teemed with life, and the land itself seemed to pulsate with an energy that united all living things into a single entity.

But this Eden vanished like a chimera when the invaders from the North arrived, bringing with them ambition and greed. Peace was replaced by the clamor of sharp weapons and wanton destruction. Sacred trees fell, flowers were trampled, and the river became murky with the blood of his people.

Overcome by melancholy, Luffy opens his eyes to the reality surrounding him. With the deaths of his brothers, tears welled up as he mourned the irreparable loss of what was once a pristine paradise. The memory of the beauty of his home became a burning flame in his heart, fueling his determination to preserve the memory of what was, even as he fought against the invasion that was stripping away the very essence of his ancestral land.

Now, however, in this picturesque realm, surrounded by lush dunes and fields of white grain, lies the beautiful kingdom of Flevance. The golden rays of the sun filter through the leaves of the tall trees that line the cobbled streets, creating a play of light and shadow that breathes life into the scene.

Built with elegant charm, the homes have whitewashed facades that reflect the creativity and personalities of their residents. Manicured gardens overflow with colorful flowers, while pots of aromatic herbs in every window fill the air with fresh scents.

The central plaza serves as the epicenter of activity, where a crystal-clear water fountain dances with the sunlight, creating a sparkling glow that illuminates the laughter and smiles of the people. The plaza's benches are filled with lively conversation as people enjoy the company of friends and neighbors.

The market buzzes with life, selling fresh local produce. Farmers and artisans proudly display their wares, from fruits and vegetables grown in the surrounding fields to handmade crafts that reflect the skill and creativity of the community.

In every corner of the White Kingdom, Luffy senses the deep connection between the people and their environment—a community thriving in prosperity and happiness. This peaceful kingdom is a haven of harmony and well-being, thanks to the wise leadership of its monarchs.

He wishes he could be as confident as a ruler as Law has become.

Law doesn't say anything right away. He just watches Luffy for a moment longer than necessary, like he's weighing something far heavier than the conversation itself. The wind threads through the white streets around them, carrying distant voices and the scent of baked bread from nearby stalls.

Luffy shifts under that gaze, suddenly more aware of himself.

"…You don't have to stand like that, you know," Law says at last, softer than usual. "As if you're waiting to be judged."

"I'm not," Luffy mutters, though his grip on his own sleeves tightens anyway.

A faint exhale leaves Law. "You are," he corrects, but there's no bite in it.

Luffy hesitates, then his voice drops. "But what if I fall, Torao?" Luffy whispers moments later, hugging himself tightly. "I can't go through that again. I wouldn't forgive myself."

Quickly, Luffy blinks and looks at Law, who returns the look with an adoring gaze. It's as if, in the midst of all the scenery on the outskirts of the kingdom, Luffy is an immaculate being, separate from this world.

Luffy can't help but swallow nervously.

Law steps a little closer, enough that his shadow falls partially over him. "You talk like falling is the end," he says quietly. "It isn't."

Luffy opens his mouth, then closes it again.

Finally, Law smiles. "If you do fall, then I'll catch you," he replies, and everything feels surreal. "And if I fall, you will catch me."

"That's—" Luffy starts, flustered, "that's not fair. I’m not good at catching people."

Law actually laughs at that. Luffy frowns, bewildered at the sudden reaction.

"Wh-why are you laughing like that? What I said it's true! One time, when we were children, Zoro fell from a tree trying to collect mandarines," Luffy insists, brows knitting together as if the memory itself is being insulted. "I tried to catch him, but I— I missed, okay? He still blames me for it."

The way he says it is so earnest, so plainly unembarrassed, that Law's laughter only deepens for a moment, low and disbelieving.

"Of course you did," Law says, amusement still lingering in his voice.

Before Luffy can even say a word, Law takes his hand and begins to lead him through the bustling white streets filled with people and various shops.

"You're misunderstanding my words, my sweet. I didn't mean them like that."

"Huh?" Luffy blinks, still stuck on the story he was trying to defend.

Law glances at him briefly, expression softening. "You speak as though a single failure defines you. As though missing your hand once means you were never meant to reach."

Luffy goes quiet at that, the grip on Law's hand tightening slightly.

Law continues, his voice lower now. "When I saw you… I understood something I had long refused to acknowledge. Even rulers are not spared from falling. The difference is who stands beside them when they do."

Luffy's steps falter for half a beat before he catches up, cheeks still warm.

A faint smile touches Law's lips at the sight. "You will understand eventually, as I did when our eyes met and I took your hand as we sealed our alliance."

Luffy still doesn't understand, but he knows he'll need to trust Law to see it through. He will—yes, he definitely will.

"Where are we going now?" Luffy asks, suddenly feeling his stomach growl. "If I may suggest, we could get something to eat at one of these stalls. The food looks really good." He innocently points at the various shops filled with customers.

Law lets out a deep chuckle, making Luffy's chest flutter. "We can eat later," he says. "What we're going to do now needs energy afterwards anyway."

"Oh?" Luffy hums. "Shall we have a sparring match, then?"

"Indeed, you can call it that," Law replies, gently pulling Luffy's hand.

Luffy tilts his head. "In what way, Torao?"

Law looks at Luffy and smiles out of the corner of his eye. His gesture is sincere, and his touch feels warm.

"We're going dancing, little prince."

As the moon begins its descent, the evening becomes an enchanting presence, full of unfamiliar promises and an atmosphere Luffy is not used to.

The ballroom is filled with an aura of elegance and romance, adorned with soft lights sparkling on the gleaming parquet floor. A small orchestra plays seductive melodies, enveloping the room in notes of passion and nostalgia.

As Luffy and Law enter the room, the murmur of people and the soft rustle of the air create an atmosphere of anticipation.

Luffy is more nervous than the first time he spent the night with Law.

Quietly, Law takes Luffy's hand again, an encouraging smile on his face. Even though neither of them is dressed for the occasion, the moonlight is enough to bring out the sparkle in their eyes.

At first, they stand at the edge of the room, watching the other couples move with grace and fluidity. Law seems eager to show off his skills on the dance floor, while Luffy feels out of place.

Dancing is a relative term for him. Back at his tribe's celebrations, it had always been something loud and unstructured—bare feet on packed earth, laughter spilling into the night, bodies moving because the music demanded it, not because anyone had learned steps or patterns. He's danced before, yes, but never like this. Never with rules. Never with someone watching. Never with a partner who expects him to follow.

This is unfamiliar territory for him.

"Would you like to try it?" Law suddenly asks beside him, an unusual spark of excitement in his golden eyes. "Would you like to dance with me, my husband?"

Luffy thinks Law looks incredibly beautiful—so much so it almost doesn't feel fair. More beautiful than the moon hanging over the city, more beautiful than the entire hall filled with polished nobles and shimmering chandeliers.

"I'd like to, but I don't know how," Luffy answers honestly, tightening his grip on Law's hand. "I am afraid that I might make a mistake and embarrass you in front of your people. I would rather eat poisonous fish than put you in such a situation."

Law replies by squeezing Luffy's hand. "Then I'll teach you. You will do well," he assures, softening his gaze. "Trust me."

Finally giving in, Luffy nods shyly, his heart pounding with a mixture of nervousness and determination. Together, they slowly make their way to the center of the room, the floor glowing under the flickering light of the candles surrounding them.

The music changes to a slow, melodious waltz, enveloping them in its serene melody. Gracefully, Law places a hand on Luffy's waist, while Luffy lightly clasps his hand, trying to keep up with the music. He awkwardly tries to mirror him, fingers curling a little too tightly at first, unsure where to put all his energy now that he has to follow instead of just move.

"Don’t overthink it," Law murmurs.

"That's easy for you to say," Luffy mutters back.

At first, Luffy's steps are clumsy and uncoordinated, his feet stumbling as he tries to keep up with the beat. Law, patient and gentle, guides him carefully, trying to instill confidence with each step.

Nevertheless, the peaceful teaching-and-learning dynamic doesn't last long. The first real step after they begin to test the waters ends in immediate disaster.

Luffy steps forward at the wrong time, nearly clipping Law's shoe. He corrects too quickly, then overcorrects again, stumbling slightly as his balance shifts in the wrong direction. His elbow bumps awkwardly into Law's side.

"Sorry—!" Luffy blurts.

"It's fine," Law says without missing a beat.

A few nobles glance over, and that makes Luffy feel utterly embarrassed, his face flushing red like a tomato at the peak of harvest.

Luffy lets out a small, frustrated sound under his breath, tense with effort as he tries to keep up, although he still refuses to pull away. The weight of the room presses in from every direction, because he is painfully aware of the gazes fixed on them, and he has never been comfortable being watched like this.

"Torao…" he murmurs, his voice dropping as his eyes flick nervously toward the surrounding nobles. "They are looking."

In response, Law draws him in closer with deliberate ease, closing the remaining space between them until there is hardly any air left to separate their movements. His hand at Luffy's waist firms, guiding him back into rhythm without breaking the flow of the dance, while his other hand keeps Luffy's fingers captured with possessive calm.

Now Law's breath brushes across Luffy's face as he leans in, close enough that every word feels meant for him alone.

"Well then, my darling," Law murmurs, gaze holding his with quiet intensity, "let them look."

Luffy swallows, visibly flustered, because Law is still guiding him through the steps as if the entire court has faded into irrelevance. Each turn pulls Luffy even deeper into him, until it becomes difficult to tell where the dance ends and where Law begins.

Law tilts his head slightly, watching Luffy's reaction with faint satisfaction, and continues in a voice that carries a softer edge beneath its control.

"You are the one standing beside me," he adds, thumb brushing lightly at Luffy's waist as he adjusts their pace, "so their attention means nothing compared to this moment."

Luffy's breath stutters as he tries to keep up, his steps faltering for a heartbeat before Law corrects him with a gentle pull, guiding him back into alignment without breaking their closeness.

"And if it unsettles you," Law continues, his tone dipping with something almost indulgent, "then hold onto me more tightly. I will handle everything else."

Luffy's movements stop spiraling into panic. His steps remain uneven and, at times, still a little clumsy, because he bumps into Law's shoulder once and nearly misses a turn twice, yet this time he recovers instead of freezing in place. Something inside him begins to shift as he follows the rhythm more closely, since he starts listening without fully realizing it, paying attention to the music, to Law's hands at his waist, and to the gentle guidance that leads him forward through every change in direction.

"Like this," Law says quietly, his voice carrying a calm certainty that settles into Luffy's chest. His hand adjusts at Luffy’s waist, guiding him through another turn so their steps align again. "You are doing so beautifully. So, so beautifully."

Luffy swallows, feeling heat rise to his face at the way Law says it, as if every mistake he makes is being rewritten into something worthy of praise. He tries to focus, yet it becomes harder when Law stays close like that, when every correction comes with touch and attention that feels far too intimate for a public hall.

"Relax, little prince," Law whispers, leaning down and caressing his ear with his breath, feeling the tension in Luffy's shoulders spread throughout his body. "Let the music carry you away. Let me carry you away, so you can feel how your body answers mine."

Luffy nods, trying to relax his stiff body as he follows Law's expert steps. With each turn, he begins to feel a little more at ease on the dance floor. As the music envelops him, his worries begin to dissolve, giving way to the soothing melody in his head.

Even though his moves aren't perfect, the connection between Law and him begins to shine through with every turn and touch. Law smiles tenderly, encouraging Luffy with each attempt as he strives to follow suit with determination.

"Ah, Torao!" Luffy exclaims with a wide grin. "I think I've got it! I'm really dancing!"

Law shakes his head and laughs. "What are you talking about? You started dancing when I asked you to, and you agreed."

Time seems to stand still as they twirl and glide across the dance floor, wrapped in their own little bubble of reverie. The admiring looks and murmurs of approval from the other dancers go unnoticed as they lose themselves in the moment.

Gradually, Luffy's steps become more steady, his confidence growing with each beat. He allows himself to feel the music deep inside, letting his movements reflect the appreciation he feels for Law.

As the song ends, Law and Luffy pause, panting but beaming with devotion. They look at each other, their eyes shining with complicity.

"Well?" Law asks with a sincere smile on his face. "How did you like it?"

Luffy smiles back, his eyes sparkling with excitement, before jumping on Law and hugging him tightly.

"I loved it!" Luffy chirps, burying his face in Law's neck. "Thanks for teaching me. I really appreciate it."

Law seems surprised when he feels Luffy's arms around him, his expression showing confusion at first and his eyes widening in amazement. However, his face soon softens into a small smile as he accepts the loving gesture with the same warmth as the prince.

"Really?" Law murmurs, cradling Luffy tenderly in his arms. "Then I am very glad that I brought you here and taught you how to dance."

Under the soft glow of flickering candles, their bodies intertwine naturally, as if the embrace is the only place they truly belong. The still night, with soft whispers around them, envelops them as they share warmth and a fleeting moment of intimacy.

Words fade into the air, leaving room for the complicity of their hearts to beat in unison. In this embrace, they discover the peace and strength needed to face the challenges of tomorrow together.

It is here, nestled against each other, that they discover the true nature of their alliance.

In a world full of noise and chaos, this shared moment of silence becomes their sanctuary, where trust and affection intertwine in an eternal embrace.

Luffy experiences a sensation he hasn't felt in a long time.

As if by fate, Law asks, "How do you feel, little prince?" His face is adorned with such a beautiful, serene expression that Luffy's heart bursts in his chest.

For the first time in a long time, Luffy feels truly liberated. The worries that have haunted him for years have dissolved into the night sky that rests over Flevance.

There is no more fear of the future or regret for the past. With Law at his side, there is only the present, full of possibilities yet to unfold.

Luffy closes his eyes and lets the breeze blowing through the windows caress his face as he takes a deep breath of the pure air.

At last, he understands the essence of freedom: to live in harmony with the world around him, unbound by chains, wherever he may be.

"Free!" Luffy finally replies, wrapping Law in his warmth. "I feel freer than ever!"

Tonight is one of the coldest evenings ever recorded in the desolate vastness of the Flevance Desert.

The frigid wind relentlessly assaults the windows with fierce determination, as if seeking to breach the cozy refuge of the chamber's interior. The sky, shrouded in a somber shade of leaden gray, heralds an impending sandstorm that Law anticipates will quickly engulf the kingdom in its white veil.

With each icy gust, the window panes tremble, echoing the wrath of the bitter weather beyond. Conversely, with a comforting fire crackling in the corner, the room exudes a sense of peace and coziness.

Flickering candlelight bathes the opulent chamber in a warm glow. Law sits at an ornate desk, surrounded by stacks of parchment and quills. His brow furrowed, he concentrates intently, meticulously examining documents in the dim light, his royal seal within reach.

Luffy is asleep in their lavish bed, his chest gently bobbing up and down as he snores lightly under the covers. The soft rustling of the silk sheets adds to the serenity of his peaceful slumber.

As Law engages in his work, the occasional scratch of a quill on parchment breaks the silence of the chamber. The king's face reflects a mixture of duty and fatigue, the burden of the kingdom evident in the lines etched across his face. Though he recognizes the need to retire to bed promptly, his insomnia proves unyielding on this occasion, forcing him to complete his paperwork for the following day instead of surrendering to sleep.

In addition, Luffy usually takes up all the available space on the bed, despite its spaciousness. Law is still amazed that Luffy, who is much smaller than him, somehow manages to kick him in the ribs more than once.

Not that he cares; he rarely sleeps next to the prince anyway.

Unable to resist, Law glances at his slumbering husband, a soft smile forming on his lips as he observes Luffy's calm and relaxed features, momentarily forgetting the cares of the day in the serenity of his presence.

But duty beckons, and with a sigh, he resumes the paperwork before him, each stroke of the quill bringing him one step closer to fulfilling his responsibilities as a ruler.

An eerie silence fills the air, broken only by the soft tapping of a white quill against paper. The faint glow of the fireplace and the candle on the desk cast flickering shadows on Law's focused features as he begins the arduous task of completing his paperwork in one sitting.

With each stroke, the inkwell releases a delicate scent of fresh ink that mingles with the serene air of the chamber. Driven to complete the task, Law writes with precision, shaping each word on paper as if he were intricately sculpting his own masterpiece.

His golden eyes, fixed on the parchment, shine with an unmistakable intensity that reflects his determination to complete it and the devotion he pours into his work. Every pause is fleeting, and every idea is effortlessly transformed into words that flow with grace and elegance.

The chamber is silent, punctuated only by the sporadic rustling of papers and the prince's steady breathing as Law toils through the night, his devotion to Flevance unwavering even as weariness tempts him to fall asleep.

But suddenly, the silence is shattered.

Law hears a soft moan, then the sound of sheets moving. His head immediately jerks up, his concentration broken by the disturbance. Law listens intently, his ears straining to discern the source of the unsettling sound.

In a corner on the opposite side of the vast chamber, Luffy tosses and turns, seemingly trapped in what Law imagines to be a nightmare. His breathing is uneven, and sweat glistens on his forehead despite the room's mild climate.

Anxiety creeps across Law's face as he becomes aware of his husband's distress. Putting aside his paperwork, he rises from his chair and walks across the room to the bed.

At first, Law notices how Luffy's breathing subtly shifts, the once steady rhythm disrupted by the turmoil of his troubled dreams. Concern lines Law's features as he watches Luffy mumble inaudible words, his forehead furrowed in worry.

Luffy's nightmare seems to lead him into an unknown realm where shadows sway with sinister intentions and whispers of forgotten fears echo through the darkness. His features contort in terror as he battles unseen demons; his pleas for release are lost in the depths of his subconscious.

"I beg you," Luffy pleads between muffled cries, his trembling lips betraying his desperation. "Do not harm them. Please spare my brothers' lives and take mine instead."

So, this is what it's all about, Law thinks, taking a deep breath.

While Luffy continues to fight his nightmare, Law looks down on him from above and feels helpless. The prince remains paralyzed in the darkness while he remains still on the ground.

Unable to bear his torment any longer, Law reaches out, his touch a gentle caress against Luffy's fevered skin. "Little prince," he murmurs, his voice a soothing presence amidst the turmoil engulfing Luffy's sleep. "Wake up. It's just a dream."

But Luffy remains trapped in the labyrinth of his nightmares, his struggles growing more intense with each passing moment. Desperation gnaws at Law's heart as he watches, powerless to loosen the grip of evil that has Luffy firmly in its grasp.

With unwavering determination, Law continues to call out to him, his voice a lifeline in the turbulent sea of Luffy's subconscious. With trembling fingers, he gently strokes Luffy's cheek, hoping to awaken him from the depths of his unsettled slumber.

"Hey, Luffy-ya," Law says quietly, and he reaches out to shake his husband's shoulder. "You need to wake up and come back to me. You're having a nightmare."

And then, as if pulled by the force of his resolute will, Luffy stirs, his eyelids fluttering open to reveal tear-stained eyes. For a brief moment, he lingers between the realm of dream and reality, the echoes of his nightmare clinging to the edges of his consciousness.

As the tendrils of sleep gradually fade, Luffy's gaze meets Law's, his expression softened by the glimmer of recognition. With a sigh of relief, he falls into Law's embrace, seeking comfort in the warmth of his presence.

"I'm so sorry, Torao," Luffy says with a cracking voice against Law's neck. "Did I… Did I wake you?"

Startled by the sudden gesture, Law freezes, his heart pounding in his chest. He looks down at Luffy, perplexed and unsure of how to react. Though his arms remain paralyzed at his sides, Luffy continues to hug him tightly.

"No, don't worry," Law replies after a moment of hesitation, clearing his throat. "Actually, I was—"

Law falls silent as Luffy tightens his embrace, as if seeking comfort from a ghost. The atmosphere is filled with unspoken feelings and unresolved emotions.

But then Law notices a subtle tremor running through the prince's body.

Without delay, Law stretches out his arms, his fingertips gently brushing Luffy's shoulders, trying to turn it into a gesture of comfort and intimacy.

Luffy is shaking heavily, and his tears are falling like torrential rain.

"My dear, are you okay?" Law whispers softly, his voice filled with doubt. "You're crying, little prince."

Luffy's shoulders shake with muffled sobs, his tears soaking Law's shoulder. Despite his attempts to hide his anguish, Law feels the barriers he has erected around his heart dissolve in the warmth of their embrace.

Law draws Luffy closer, his own heart aching at the sight of the prince's unusual vulnerability. From the beginning, Law knew that beneath Luffy's bravery lay a heart filled with hidden fears and untold stories. Little did he know, however, that Luffy's burden would prove to be too much to bear.

"It's okay. You don't have to hold it all in." Law mumbles into his dark, sweat-soaked hair, his words a tender reassurance in the midst of Luffy's turmoil. "It's over. You're safe now. I've got you."

As time passes, Luffy's tears flow freely, soaking the fabric of Law's shirt. The intensity of his emotions spills over, flooding the solitary chamber with the rawness of his torment.

Law remains silent, gently caressing Luffy's tense shoulders and offering comfort only through his unwavering presence.

As Luffy's sobs gradually fade into faint hiccups, Law's hand gently rests on his trembling shoulder. His touch radiates warmth, a silent expression of solidarity and support. He refrains from rushing him, recognizing that healing is a gradual process.

Indeed, Law is well aware that this is a rather lengthy process.

In the silence of the chamber, the only sound is the gentle rhythm of their breathing, a cadence that echoes the flow of emotion. The weight of Luffy's grief hangs heavily in the air, yet Law stands resolute, a pillar of comfort in his moment of vulnerability.

After what feels like hours, the tension in Luffy's body begins to ease, like a tightly wound string gradually unwinding. The storm in his heart slowly subsides, replaced by a calm that envelops him like a gentle breeze.

Finally, Luffy's tears stop, and he raises his head to meet the king's gaze. There is understanding and acceptance in Law's eyes, a silent reassurance that Luffy is not alone in his struggles.

"I was dreaming of the war," Luffy says, blinking away unwelcome tears. "I was dreaming of them.

Law nods slowly, understanding his brief explanation. "You have a lot of these, don't you?" He asks, noticing Luffy raise an eyebrow in confusion. "Nightmares, I mean," he clarifies.

With a shuddering sigh, Luffy detaches himself from Law and sits upright on the soft mattress, his gaze averted to the fireplace flickering in the chamber.

"No, not really," he replies, scratching his neck. "But I admit I used to have them every day."

An ominous breeze whispers outside the closed windows, violently rattling the glass and disturbing the stillness. It's as if nature itself is waiting patiently, attuned to the silent exchange that unfolds within the chamber's walls.

"Now, they only come out every once in a while," Luffy mumbles, involuntarily touching the scar under his left eye. "I guess I've gotten used to their presence, but I still find myself shedding tears. It frustrates me."

"Did the North cause this injury?" Law asks, his brow furrowing slightly as he looks at the small scar.

Luffy shakes his head. "No, I caused this injury myself," he admits, nibbling at his lower lip. "I did it to endure the pain and concentrate on something other than... No, never mind. It means nothing, really."

"It means something to me," Law insists, refusing to give up. "In fact, my sunshine, it means the world to me."

For a fleeting minute, time seems to stand still as they lock eyes, each caught in the gaze of the other. In that instant, a silent understanding passes between them, transcending words and barriers.

As the moment fades, Luffy can't help but smile, the surprise still lingering in his dark eyes. In this brief exchange, he has glimpsed a side of Law that he had not known before, a side that has both intrigued and captivated him.

"As your kingdom, you are full of hidden surprises, Torao." Luffy chuckles, his eyes flickering with amusement.

"And as your true heart, My Lord, you suffer deeply with sharp pain," Law replies, taking one of Luffy's hands and gently squeezing it. "Please tell me what happened so that I can share your burden."

Luffy's smile disappears, and his face is now filled with misery. "What do you want to know?" he asks solemnly.

"Everything."

"It's a long story, just so you know."

Law's lips curve into a half-smile. "We have time," he answers quietly. "It's only midnight, little prince. The night is long, and the dawn will gradually break in the midst of this sandstorm."

In the soft glow of candlelight, Luffy sits across from Law, his face grave yet determined. Taking a deep breath, he strengthens his resolve as he prepares to reveal the intricacies of his story to Law, a Northerner—the perpetrator of his people's downfall.

"Torao," Luffy begins, his voice calm but full of emotion, "there are aspects of my existence that I have never revealed. They include painful moments that have shaped my identity and for which I have deep contempt."

Law, attentive and compassionate, nods encouragingly and quietly urges Luffy to continue.

"I was born into a world of peace, a land blessed by the embrace of Nika, our warrior god and spiritual protector of the tribe," Luffy murmurs, his gaze distant as he delves into the depths of memory. "But suddenly, violence and injustice shattered my world. My brothers, my home, my people—everything I held dear was taken from me in an instant. Even a part of me."

A palpable tension fills the air as Luffy suddenly reaches for the hem of his shirt, his fingers trembling slightly. Law furrows his brow and watches him closely.

Law notices that Luffy's expression conveys a mixture of reluctance and resolution. He watches silently as the prince takes a deep breath and begins to unbutton his shirt, each click echoing in the quiet chamber. The soft candlelight bathes his face in a gentle glow, accentuating the contours of his features.

As Luffy undoes the last button, he hesitates, his hands hovering over the fabric. He closes his eyes for a moment, steeling himself for what lies beneath. With sudden determination, he pulls the shirt away, revealing a long, cross-shaped, jagged scar that runs across his chest.

"The North showed no mercy to those who endured its tyranny; its men did not spare us even when we were children," Luffy whispers, gently stroking his scar. "Zoro was slashed across his torso with a sword, Nami was branded with a tattoo that marked her as a slave, and I..." he hesitates, swallowing hard. "I was burned."

The formerly warm atmosphere is now filled with an unsettling tension.

In the silence, emotions surge within Law as he struggles with his own thoughts and feelings, while Luffy tries to avert his gaze. The air flowing around them grows heavy, as if the revelation has robbed Law of his voice.

Luffy breaks the silence with a nervous laugh, trying to ease the shadowy tension. However, his efforts falter in the face of the gravity of his own story, the weight of which looms like an ominous cloud.

"Is that why you cut yourself?" Law asks quietly, finally regaining his voice.

Luffy looks at him and hums softly. "I had to divert the pain from my burn elsewhere," he explains, pursing his lips. "The agony I felt in my chest was overwhelming, so I had to focus on something else to lessen its intensity. I cut myself under the eye and eventually lost consciousness." He pauses and takes a deep breath. "I woke up in one of my tribe's medical tents. At first, I thought it was all a terrible dream, but it wasn't."

Despite recounting one of the most traumatic experiences Law has ever heard, Luffy beams with a warm smile. His rosy lips curl upward, and his body relaxes.

"But you know what?" Luffy speaks again, tilting his head to the side. "I'm strong now, Torao. I have learned to kick ass over the years, and you have no idea how much I enjoy it."

Law raises his eyebrows, not knowing what to say. Luffy approaches him on the bed and puts a hand on his shoulder, as if Law is the one who needs to be comforted, not him.

Such is the strength of his will. His husband, a prince who has lost everything, shows remarkable perseverance even in the midst of tragedy.

Law does not deserve him.

"I don't deserve you, little prince," Law says aloud, not realizing the full weight of his confession.

Luffy looks at him, confused. "Why is that? You are also very strong. I've seen you spar with Sanji sometimes," he mentions with a wistful smile. "Zoro says you're very skilled with the sword, and considering he's my guard and a swordsman himself, that's quite a compliment."

"No, not like you. There is no comparison between you and me," Law says, pressing his lips together in a line. "You're the strongest person I know."

Luffy chuckles and leans forward.

"Well, if I'm the strongest person you know, then you're the most beautiful person I know," he confesses, crossing his arms and nodding before looking at Law in surprise. "Please don't tell Nami I said that. She'll kill me."

Law's heart skips a beat at Luffy's unexpected compliment. Horribly, he feels a rush of warmth spread across his cheeks, igniting a blush that he can't contain. His eyes widen in surprise, and his breath catches in his throat.

Luffy's naive words linger in the air, enveloping him in a state of defenselessness he hadn't anticipated.

It's a strange feeling, and Law won't deny that it's a little unsettling.

Law has always thought of himself as ordinary, never entertaining the idea that someone might find him beautiful, let alone say so to his face.

"You're an idiot, Luffy-ya," Law muses, looking to the side. "A strong, hot-headed idiot."

"And you're blushing, Torao," Luffy teases playfully, laughing at Law's reaction. "You should do that more often; it suits your face. Now, you shine like the moon."

Luffy is so close, but Law shows no inclination to move away.

The air in the dimly lit chamber is heavy with tension as Law and Luffy stand facing each other, their gazes locked in an intense exchange. The only sound is the low hum of the fireplace in the corner, casting long shadows across the room.

Law's piercing eyes bore into Luffy's, reflecting a storm of conflicting emotions: longing, uncertainty, and a hint of appreciation. Luffy, in turn, meets his gaze with unwavering determination, his own eyes shimmering with a mixture of defiance and revealed affection.

Time seems to stand still as they remain locked in their silent standoff, each unwilling to break the palpable connection that crackles between them. It is as if the room itself is holding its breath, anticipating the next move in their silent dance of emotions.

Outside, the faint sound of the sandstorm echoes off the windowpane, providing a soothing backdrop to the charged atmosphere inside. But in the tempest across the moonlit sands, an electric current seems to flow between Law and Luffy, bridging the distance that separated them before.

Neither speaks a word, as words seem inadequate to convey the depth of their shared understanding. Instead, they communicate through the silent language of their intense eyes, each seeking solace and resolution in the gaze of the other.

In that moment, the lines between them blur, and the barriers they have erected crumble under the weight of unspoken truths. For in the silence of this chamber, they find sanctuary—a place where their souls intertwine, bound by an invisible thread of connection that defies explanation.

And so they stand, two figures suspended in time, their silent exchange a testament to the power of their newfound connection, transcending words and filling the empty spaces with the warmth of their hearts as one.

"Ah, look at that, Torao!" Luffy suddenly exclaims, turning his attention to one of the windows, distancing himself from Law as he jumps out of bed. "The sandstorm is finally over, and the dawn is upon us! The sun is coming up!" He looks back at Law and grins broadly. "Isn't it beautiful?"

Law blinks, coming out of his trance. "What's beautiful, little prince?"

"The sun, of course!"

In the serene room, Law sits on the edge of the bed, his gaze fixed on Luffy, who is standing by one of the windows. Luffy's silhouette stands out against the golden hues of the setting sun as it gracefully descends over the horizon. His eyes, full of wonder, follow the gentle arc of the sun's descent, casting warm colors across the expansive chamber.

Law watches as Luffy's expression changes from curiosity to awe, the fading light delicately illuminating his features with a soft glow. It is at this moment that Law experiences a revelation. Luffy shines brighter than the sun itself at its zenith, and Law can do nothing but embrace that radiance with open arms.

As a child, Law still remembers dreaming of the sun enveloping him, shielding him in its warmth, and calming his fears. Yet, when he awoke the next morning, the sun was gone and its welcoming glow had vanished.

Now, however, the warmth of the sun feels so close, almost caressing his skin. And even if Law were to close his eyes and open them again, he knows that this time, its glow and comfort will not go away.

Because this time, it is real.

Luffy continues to stand by his side, glowing beautifully and growing stronger every day.

"It is," Law finally whispers, his lips curling into a half-smile. "It's undeniably beautiful."

As the months pass, the bond between the prince of the Eastern Tribe and the king of Flevance deepens in ways Luffy struggles to put into words. Waking up beside Law still feels unreal, as though the morning light itself might dissolve the scene at any moment and leave him back in a distant world that feels less vivid than the one Law inhabits.

During the day, Luffy watches him with quiet fascination. He pays attention to the way Law speaks in council chambers, how he weighs every report before answering, and how he moves through matters of state with a clarity that draws every gaze without effort. Luffy begins to imitate him in small ways, copying the structure of his decisions when discussing allied territories, trying to understand the logic behind every choice so he can stand beside him as an equal rather than a guest in his kingdom.

Yet when night arrives, something inside Luffy shifts. A heat spreads through his chest, unfamiliar and persistent, as if his emotions had been set ablaze by proximity alone. His thoughts begin to scatter and reform in ways he cannot control, circling back again and again to the same source without ever reaching an answer. Even though he spends the entire day near Law, this feeling grows more intense rather than fading, as if closeness feeds it instead of easing it.

He cannot explain it, and that uncertainty makes him overthink every moment, every glance, every word exchanged in passing. Still, beneath the confusion, there is an undeniable pull toward the sensation, something that unsettles him while also making his heartbeat feel fuller, more alive.

Adjusting to Law himself proves equally difficult. Law, despite what he sometimes claims about himself, carries a presence that leans away from cruelty and toward something far more enduring. It is evident in the way he listens before he speaks, in how he considers even the smallest concerns of his people with an attention that feels deeply personal, and in how he refuses to treat authority as distance.

To his subjects, he is a king who embodies compassion and fairness without needing to announce it. The well-being of Flevance seems to rest at the center of every decision he makes, and because of that, Luffy finds himself watching him more than he intends to.

Whenever they step beyond the palace, Luffy sees another side of him. Law speaks to the people as though they are part of something larger than rank or title, meeting their eyes with a familiarity that feels almost familial while still holding the quiet weight of a ruler who understands responsibility. The way the citizens respond to him, with trust that appears both earned and unwavering, leaves Luffy quietly stunned each time.

There is admiration in Luffy that grows without restraint. It is not admiration born from distance, but from closeness that reveals more with every passing day. He finds himself studying Law when he thinks he is unnoticed, watching the way his expression changes when he believes no one is paying attention, and realizing that even in stillness, Law carries a presence that feels impossible to ignore.

Luffy is fully aware that nothing about this is an illusion. Law is real in every sense that matters, present and unshakable, and that truth makes the pull toward him even harder to understand.

And still, Luffy cannot stop thinking about him.

"Watch out, Luffy!"

In a state of deep distraction, the prince barely manages to fend off Zoro's attack. Panting heavily, Luffy retreats, clenching his fists. He's usually the one on the offensive, but this time he finds himself on the defensive. Zoro swings one of his swords and lands a blunt blow to Luffy's ribs. Luffy winces and rolls to the side, gasping for air. Zoro's brow furrows in concern.

"You're in bad shape today," Zoro remarks, sheathing his sword in the scabbard at his hip. "Fucking hell, and I hit you with the blunt side."

Luffy breathes out tiredly. "I-It's nothing... Let's keep sparring."

With one eyebrow raised in suspicion, Zoro watches Luffy's every move, his senses attuned to the subtle nuances of his behavior. There is something in his posture—a tension in the air—that sets off alarm bells in his mind.

Luffy's eyes dart furtively from side to side, as if searching for something—or someone. His fingers tap nervously on the rough surface of the gray asphalt, betraying the inner turmoil he is trying hard to hide.

Zoro closes his eye, his mind racing with speculation and uncertainty. What secrets are hidden behind Luffy's inscrutable facade? What truths lurk in the depths of his enigmatic gaze?

As the minutes stretch into eternity, the tension between them palpable, Zoro remains steadfast in his vigil, his suspicions casting a shadow over the clandestine rendezvous unfolding before him.

This is indeed an unusual situation.

Needless to say, Zoro does not like to discuss other people's dilemmas, but he recognizes that Luffy is usually much more cheerful than he seems at the moment. Zoro has been aware of this since their arrival in Flevance.

As far as he currently knows, Law is one of the prominent culprits.

"I may regret this later," Zoro sighs, scratching his neck. "You have been unusually distracted lately. So, tell me, what burden are you carrying, My Lord?"

Luffy lifts his forearm to his face and eagerly wipes the sweat from his brow. He looks at Zoro, blinks, and then decides to lower his head as he straightens up on the ground.

"I don't understand what you're trying to say."

Shaking his head, Zoro tosses Luffy a towel. His guard sits beside him, watching him carefully out of the corner of his eye. "How are things with Law, your husband?" Zoro opts for frankness. "Is he a good partner?"

"When did you start calling him by his first name?"

"Since today," Zoro says, crossing his arms over his chest. "Now, Your Highness, answer the damn question."

With a heavy sigh, Luffy's shoulders slump as he gazes into the distance, avoiding direct eye contact. His reluctance to answer the question is palpable, lingering in the heavy air like an unspoken truth yearning to remain hidden.

"He's a competent king," Luffy answers nonchalantly, trying to change the subject.

"You know I didn't ask that, you fool."

Luffy lowers his eyes, and Zoro leans in to examine him closely. "You can trust me; you know that," he says, raising a jug of water to his lips. "Share your despair with me, and I'll carry it for you."

In a hurried motion, Luffy finishes wiping the sweat from his face and drapes the towel around his neck. He suppresses a sigh and looks at Zoro.

Luffy clenches his jaw, his resolve wavering as the weight of his thoughts threatens to consume him. He wrestles with his conscience, torn between the truth and the lies that offer comfort in the face of uncertainty.

"Zoro, I think I have contracted a desert plague," he mumbles.

Zoro nods slowly. "Well, why do you think that? What symptoms do you have?"

"This is the strangest thing. I don't understand my symptoms," Luffy says. "Every night my heart races, my sweat feels cold, my body shakes, and my skin is hot." He bites his lip, pressing it into a thin line. "I must be sick, and that's why I'm acting this way, isn't it?"

Zoro puts down the jug and rests his hands on the gray asphalt.

"Let me get this straight," he begins, smirking slightly, "you get all these 'symptoms' when His Majesty is around. Holy crap, you're too innocent."

"Yes! How did you know?" Luffy's eyes widen. "Are you really Zoro?"

"Oh, shut up, you idiot," Zoro grumbles, laughing subtly. "I just know."

Luffy smiles warmly and looks into the distance, where Sanji is picking vitamin-rich herbs from the garden in front of them. Unconsciously, his face tilts again, this time towards Zoro. His smile widens as he notices the expression on his friend's face, so soft and full of reverence, as he looks at the cook with a countenance far from antipathy.

It is strange because Zoro never blushes.

Luffy leans back onto the ground, chuckling softly at the sight. His laughter, like a gentle breeze, fills the courtyard around him with warmth and light.

Beside him, Zoro turns to him, his brow furrowed in confusion at the unexpected outburst.

"What's so funny, Luffy?" Zoro asks, his curiosity piqued as he scans the prince's expression for clues.

Wiping away a tear of laughter, Luffy looks up, his eyes sparkling with joy as he tries to contain his amusement.

"Oh, it's nothing, just a silly thought," he replies, his laughter still echoing in the air.

Zoro tilts his head to the side, his confusion deepening at his cryptic answer. "What were you thinking about?"

At this, Luffy stops laughing, and silence falls.

Lost in thought, Luffy's gaze lingers on Sanji's form, the rhythmic sway of his movements soothing his restless mind. But as the minutes pass, his attention shifts, and he turns his gaze back to Zoro.

With a gentle smile, Luffy puts a hand on his shoulder. "It looks like you're sick too, Zoro," he remarks, and Zoro's blush surprisingly deepens.

In the grand chamber of the Royal Palace, bathed in the soft glow of midday, Law stands at the ornate window overlooking the courtyard below. His regal figure cuts a striking silhouette against the backdrop of the blazing sun, casting a majestic aura that commands awe.

Looking through the window, he sees Luffy and his loyal guard, Zoro, engaged in a spirited sparring match. Their movements are fluid and precise, a testament to years of rigorous training and unwavering dedication.

A fond smile graces Law's lips as he watches the exchange between the prince and his guard. It fills his heart with pride to witness Luffy's skill and determination, traits befitting a future chieftain destined to lead the Eastern Tribe to greatness.

The rhythmic clash of steel against fist echoes through the courtyard, a symphony of strength and agility that resonates with the spirit of chivalry. Each parry and thrust speaks volumes of the bond forged between prince and guard, a bond rooted in loyalty, friendship, and mutual respect.

As the sparring match reaches its climax, Luffy delivers a swift blow that sends Zoro staggering backward. The prince's victory is greeted with a hearty laugh from his guard, his admiration for Luffy's prowess evident in the twinkle in his eye.

"I guess I was wrong. You were not in bad shape," Law hears Zoro say. "It seems our conversation helped you regain your strength, My Lord."

With a sense of pride swelling in his chest, Law marvels at the sight before him. He sees in Luffy the promise of a bright future for their kingdom, a future filled with courage, integrity, and the blinding glow that comes from within.

"He's pretty strong, isn't he?" A voice behind Law prompts him to turn around.

Law chooses to clear his throat, abandoning his earlier smile and replacing it with a stern expression.

"Indeed he is," Law replies, watching his father with his hands clasped behind his back and his chest puffed out.

With a gentle smile, Rosinante approaches his son, his eyes shining with joy. "It's quite strange. You smile a lot when you stare at him," his father continues, patting him on the shoulder. "I thought you hated him when I told you you were destined to marry him."

"Do not confuse yourself any further, Father," Law hisses. "As a matter of fact, I despised him very much."

Rosinante hums with amusement. "Is that so?" he asks with a grin. "Well, how about now? Do you despise him, sweet boy?"

"Stop calling me that!" Law pouts, crossing his arms over his chest. "I am a king."

"And it seems, Your Majesty, that you keep forgetting who your father is," Rosinante teases, giggling. "You will always be my sweet boy. No matter what your age or title."

Law sighs and gestures with his hand in surrender.

Rosinante's eyes soften with affection as he watches his son beside him. "I can tell when something is bothering you, Law," he mumbles, this time with a serious tone. "Does your behavior have something to do with the way you look at the prince?"

Law's chest tightens with frustration, his breath catching in his throat as he struggles to control his emotions. His father's words cut deep, serving as a reminder of the expectations that burden him as king.

Another deep sigh escapes Law's lips, the weight of his father's words weighing heavily on him. In this moment, he feels the pressure of centuries of tradition and duty on his shoulders, threatening to crush his spirit.

He is in love with Luffy, a native of the East, and now he does not know what to do. For God's sake, his ancestors must be rolling in their graves.

With a resigned look on his face, Law lowers his gaze, his resolve wavering in the face of his father's presence. "I think I..." he whispers to himself, his words lost in the gentle breeze blowing through the open window.

As he speaks, memories flow through his mind, each one a precious fragment of the bond he has with Luffy. The laughter they shared, the tears Luffy shed and Law wiped away, the moments of quiet understanding that forged an unbreakable bond between them.

He is deeply in love with him, damn it.

And now, standing under the vastness of the withered ceiling of the chamber where he married Luffy, Law knows he can no longer hide his feelings in the shadows.

"I... I am in love with him," he confesses, his voice barely above a whisper but resonating with the weight of his emotions.

Silence descends upon them, a fragile thread binding his conflicted heart to Luffy as he waits with bated breath for his father's response.

The stillness remains thick and suffocating as Law holds his breath, his heart racing with anticipation. Every passing moment feels like an eternity, with every second stretching into infinity as he waits for his father's verdict.

And then, finally, his father speaks, his voice cutting through the oppressive silence like a blade. "I am very proud of you, my dear son," he says, causing Law to look at him with a puzzled expression on his face.

The words hang in the air, heavy with meaning, as Law listens with a knot in his stomach, his whole being hanging on the edge of his father's answer.

"Wait, aren't you—"

"—disappointed?" Rosinante finishes for him. "Of course not, foolish king. I am more than proud of you."

In that moment, the world seems to hold its breath, suspended in time, as father and son stand on the precipice of understanding. And as the seconds tick by, Law's nerves threaten to overwhelm him, his entire being consumed by the desperate need for his father's approval.

"I've never seen you smile so genuinely, sweet boy," Rosinante mutters. "You're happy. I can see it in your eyes," he says, rubbing light circles on Law's cheek. "And if you are happy, I can be happy, too."

Suddenly, Law feels a newfound sense of freedom and acceptance, knowing that he has the unwavering support of his father. With gratitude shining in his eyes, he embraces Rosinante, their fraternal bond strengthened by their mutual understanding and acceptance of each other's thoughts.

"Thank you," Law whispers into the silence. He can feel his father shaking his head.

"Thank your husband, Law," Rosinante corrects with a smile. "This man, Luffy, is the sun that cured the remorse your soul held before."

Law's heart swells with hope and longing, and as the sun rises high in the sky, casting its golden rays on the kingdom below, Law embraces his destiny, ready to face whatever trials and tribulations lie ahead, with Luffy by his side.

One day, as he is about to finish reading the reports on the current state of his tribe, Luffy feels a slight touch on his shoulder, causing his hands to drop the short manuscript and his eyes to drift back. His heart automatically stops when he sees the authoritative figure of Law.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt," the king apologizes with a slight purse of his lips. "Are you busy, little prince?"

Quickly, Luffy shakes his head. "N-no, I was just rereading some reports," he says, standing up and facing his husband with a reserved look. "What is it, Torao? Do you need something?"

Law curls his fingers. They are long, bony, and elegant-looking, but Luffy knows that they are anything but fragile. They are as strong as his own courage.

"I wanted to show you a place you might like."

"You wanted?"

Law holds back a smile. "I want," he corrects. "Would you like to join me?"

Luffy averts his eyes, forcing himself not to look directly at the path the king is on as he studies him with that sharp, all-too-burning gaze. The heat begins to rise in his cheeks, but Luffy manages to control himself in time.

"Of course," he replies, regaining his composure. "Where are we going?"

At this, Law's expression softens. "You'll see."

This place is truly an Eden. Luffy had never been in such a deserted yet fertile place before. The temperature remains as warm as in the kingdom; the breeze feels liberating on his face, with a subtle taste of salt and an abundance of freshness.

It is perfect.

"Torao, what is this place?" The prince asks in awe, holding Law's hand tighter than necessary.

They walk together across the white, soft sand, taking in the atmosphere with each step toward the unique blue layer of water. The waves are violent, crashing against each other like clashes between great warriors of the sea.

"The beach," Law replies, noticing the sun beginning to set behind the gentle swell.

"And that blue monster that roars with a terrible hunger," Luffy whispers breathlessly, pointing to the vastness of the sea. "What is that?"

Law can't help but grin at Luffy's curiosity, his face showing a prosperous, almost smug expression. "The ocean," he says, letting go of Luffy's hand and concentrating on his clothes. "Do you want to swim in it?"

"Can I?!" Luffy squeals ecstatically. "But what if it swallows me?"

The king takes off his clothes and asks the prince to do the same. When the two are on equal footing—only in loincloths—Law reaches out to take Luffy's warm hand again.

"Hold my hand, and you will be safe," Law assures him. "Keep your eyes on me, and all will be well."

"Promise not to let go?"

Law lets out a deep laugh and strokes the back of Luffy's hand with his thumb. "Only a fool would have the courage to let you go, my sun."

At last, night falls on Flevance. The stars twinkle in the dark sky, reflecting the magic of the moon. Law and Luffy lie on the sand, leaning back with their hands on their necks, contemplating the beautiful sphere full of constellations, trying to make out meaningful shapes among them.

The soft murmur of the sea breeze caresses their skin as they lie side by side, the warmth of their companionship embracing them in the cool night air. Law points out constellations, spinning tales of heroes and legends among the stars, while Luffy listens intently, his eyes shining with wonder.

Together, they share a moment of serenity and connection, far from the burdens of royalty and duty. In the silence of the night, under the stars, they find solace in each other's presence, their bond strengthened by the timeless beauty of the cosmos.

Luffy has never felt as exhilarated as he does right now at his husband's side.

"Ah, look!" Luffy stretches out his arm and points with his index finger at the stars floating above them. "That star looks like a tasty piece of meat."

Law raises an eyebrow and squints. "Are you sure?" he asks hesitantly. "It looks more like a bumpy rock."

"What? Of course not!" The prince shakes his head. "You must be blind, Torao."

Luffy straightens up and stands up, his eyes fixed on the sky. He looks at the star for a few seconds, pondering that it is indeed shaped like a piece of meat and not a bumpy rock. Satisfied with his discovery, he turns to Law, ready to adjust his stance and defend his position, but is met with the startling sight of his husband scrutinizing him intently. Swallowing hard, he steps back.

"Why do you always do that?" Luffy blurts out, stepping back a little.

Law doesn't know what to say, so he decides to imitate Luffy's action and stands up, brushing off the sandy remnants stuck to his clothes.

"What?" he asks nonchalantly.

"You keep staring at me when I'm not looking at you!" Luffy shouts instinctively. "Why?"

Luffy seems to be angry, which is unusual. His hands have begun to clench into tight fists at his sides, and he is filled with rage.

"I didn't realize it bothered you that much," Law admits.

"It doesn't bother me; it pisses me off!"

Though Law doesn't know how to respond, he senses the solemn stiffness that has begun to form around them. Instead of pushing his luck, he stands still and remains silent. In contrast, Luffy steps forward and circles Law with frustrated, almost desperate steps.

"I don't know what effect you have on me," Luffy stammers, nibbling at the inside of his cheek. "All I know is that you make me feel weird."

"Weird," Law repeats, keeping his tone subdued. "Can you, I don't know, be a little more specific?"

"Stop being so—"

Law tilts his head slightly, interrupting him mid-thought, gaze fixed on Luffy like he's studying a crown he intends to claim in more ways than one. "Say it clearly for me, my prince. I want the truth on your tongue."

Luffy's eyes narrow immediately. "Are you making fun of me, Your Majesty?"

With a weak exhalation, Law finally comes to his senses and approaches Luffy. "I'm not laughing, am I?"

His voice softens as he closes the space between them. "I would never treat your feelings like a game. Tell me what I awaken in you."

Luffy bites his lip, feeling his confusion intensify, piercing his chest like a thorn. He lowers his eyes and suppresses a growl. Only when he feels Law's hand grab his wrist does he raise his eyes to meet his own.

"W-what are you doing?" Luffy raises his eyebrows, suddenly alarmed. "Let go of me. Now."

Law looks at him with a calm expression. His grip remains controlled, guiding rather than restraining, and his thumb traces slow circles along Luffy's pulse. "Your heartbeat gives you away every time I come near."

Luffy tries to recoil, but fails. "I fear that if you don't let go of my hand, I will have to—"

"I hated you so much," Law confesses out of nowhere, narrowing his eyes. "I thought you would be harmful to my people, and I judged you without bothering to learn more about you," he continues without stammering. "I didn't want to marry you. Every night before I closed my eyes for a restless sleep, I loathed the thought of it."

He strokes Luffy's wrist with his thumb and feels his pulse quicken. "You were supposed to be a ruthless, bloodthirsty person, but then I saw your eyes, and it all made sense in my head." Law smiles, showing his dimples and the beautiful portraits on his tan skin. "Shit, you're everything I ever wanted to find. A shimmer in the midst of my own chaos."

His hand rises, brushing Luffy's knuckles with reverence that contrasts his composure. "You stand in front of me and the world loses its edge."

The atmosphere grows heavy with silence as Luffy absorbs Law's words, his eyes widening in amazement at the unexpected confession. His heart races, emotions swirling inside him like a turbulent storm. Finding the right words becomes a challenge as his mind becomes a whirlwind of thoughts and feelings.

Luffy immediately runs out of breath and exhales heavily through his mouth.

"Torao—"

"I wasn't lying, you know." Law interjects, his expression softening.

"W-what?"

Luffy loosens his wrist, allowing Law to caress it freely. His heart races again, its rhythm colliding with Law's skin, which feels both icy and hot at the same time.

"When I said you were beautiful on our first night together, I wasn't lying," he whispers, and then his lips meet Luffy's.

Law's lips are warm like the desert sun. They carry a subtle roughness yet remain soft, similar to the morning clouds that grace the sky. Something inside Luffy stirs violently. Though his mouth feels dry, his heart overrides his mind's protests and forces him not to pull away. So, with an unquenchable longing, Luffy gives in and leans in to return the kiss.

As Law's tongue presses against his lips, demanding entry into his mouth, the butterflies in Luffy's stomach ignite into flames. Yielding to the intensity, Luffy lets out a choked cry as the kiss deepens.

His legs are shaking, and he can feel his knees starting to buckle. Luffy resists Law's intervention, but he admits that his breathing will become more difficult as time goes on, forcing him to plead for a breath of fresh air.

As Law regretfully steps away from him, Luffy's face glows like the stars that adorn this unusual night sky. His suppressed longing remains palpable and intensifies as his misty eyes focus on the king. Eagerness turns to impatience, which turns to a task that Luffy is determined to complete with the utmost haste.

"I want you," Luffy mumbles involuntarily, realizing that he has inadvertently confessed his hidden desires to Law.

Allowing himself to be swept away by the lust simmering within him, Luffy looks up, too lost in his own reverie to unravel his thoughts. Though perhaps overly ambitious, he truly craves this experience. He longs to explore the sensations: to hear his name moaned, to trace the intricate tattoos with his tongue, to savor the taste of Law's skin, to run his nails down his back, and to surrender to his mercy.

Luffy wants him.

He wants Law.

"Then you can have me," Law assures him, and everything around Luffy seems too surreal for him to believe.

After their little confrontation on the beach, the duo retreats to the palace and heads safely to the washroom of their shared chamber. The hour is late, probably well past midnight.

The night sky resembles a somber cliff beyond the expansive, frosted windows, while the steam-filled bathing chamber is illuminated by a soft, inviting light that envelops the room in a comforting warmth.

Luffy cannot resist the urge to watch Law undress; his attention is fully focused on scrutinizing his husband from head to toe. His dark eyes wander over every inch of skin, tracing the muscles adorned with obsidian tattoos, the graceful contours of his back, the solidity of his shoulders, the refined lines of his jaw, the ruggedness of his abdomen, and the pronounced shape of his buttocks.

After a long moment of silence in which no one speaks, Luffy decides to turn around and remove the thin, delicate robe that covers his form. Naked, he walks to the large marble bathtub, dives into the water, and sits down next to Law. Although not overtly, he feels Law's gaze on him, causing him to stifle his outrageous thoughts with a hint of embarrassment.

He blinks, lifts his gaze, and fixes it on Law before closing his eyes again. "Torao."

Law responds to the faint summons with a raised eyebrow.

"Yes, little prince?"

Luffy's blush glows with the intensity of a campfire engulfed in the hottest flames. Silence pervades the air, and when he finally summons the courage to open his eyes, he discovers Law gazing tenderly at him.

"You're doing it again," Luffy whispers, trying not to flinch. "You're looking at me with those eyes."

This time, instead of remaining discreet, Law is ready to speak. "I'm sorry, but I can't help it," he admits with a sigh. "You look even more beautiful in the light of the bathtub, my love."

With suggestive urgency, they hurry to finish their short bath and hastily put on the folded bathrobes that had been laid out on the wooden shelves in the bathroom. Leaving the bathing chamber and entering their room, they embrace, their mouths meeting in a kiss much more intense than before. Passion greets them powerfully as their bodies collapse on the bed.

Every aspect of Law exudes refinement combined with a peculiar steeliness. From his lips and skin to his tongue and hands, the gentle rubbing on Luffy's thighs, the low growl from his mouth, and the unmistakable rasp in his throat all indicate his proximity. Bound in an eternal embrace from which they cannot break free, the prince's heart races as his lungs struggle for oxygen, and his muscles tense as Law begins to undress him.

"Please tell me you want this." Law pants and grabs the cloth around the edge of Luffy's bathrobe.

The bathrobe slides down his shoulders, and now Law's lips attack his neck. Delicate teeth graze the fragile expanse of tanned skin; and gentle hands begin their journey down Luffy's legs, caressing and squeezing the tender body beneath the thin fabric of the bathrobe. Luffy braces himself for his battle against lust, but the task proves daunting, especially when the sensations coursing through his body are so tantalizing that they send restless electric shocks through his loins. The movements become more and more pleasurable, causing his nipples to harden and his clothed erection to press against its confines. Law's kisses and nibbles intensify and develop into fervent expressions of desire.

After a short pause, Law sits up on the bed and meets Luffy's wandering gaze. "I beg you," he murmurs desperately, his lips brushing Luffy's, silently beseeching. "Tell me you want me to fuck you."

Despite his dizziness, as if drifting in a distant, murky ocean, Luffy nods. He gently strokes Law's face and manages to smile as best he can.

"Yes, I want you to do it," he says, slowly catching his breath. "I want you to fuck me mercilessly, Law."

Driven by his eagerness, Law removes his own bathrobe and lets it fall to the ground with a stealthy thud. He then unbuckles Luffy's belt, leaving him completely exposed. Luffy gasps as Law strokes him, and he grits his teeth against his knuckles to stifle any moans. Law's touch is intense, hard as steel, and burning like fire. He moves forward, his hips rocking in slow, circular motions, entering Luffy with deliberate patience.

A shudder runs through both of them from beginning to end. At first, Luffy experiences nothing but a sense of fullness and heat; the sensation of Law fucking him is neither pleasant nor unpleasant. What piques his interest the most is the other man's reaction. Law bows his head and gives an experimental thrust with his hips, causing a tingling sensation in Luffy's stomach and groin. Despite the pleasurable effect, nothing prepares him for the sound of his lover cursing loudly.

"Fuck, you're incredibly tight, sweetheart."

Luffy realizes that the feeling of being under Law's control is so new that it makes him dizzy. Throughout, Law delights in surrendering to Luffy's desires. Even in matters of intimacy, this dynamic remains unchanged: Law's presence commands attention, his voice carries a seductive allure, and the intense gaze on his face is so captivating that Luffy feels his heart constrict. Law's movements are impeccable, and with each passing moment of relaxation between them, being intimate with him feels more and more pleasurable. As Luffy spreads his legs, he feels his climax approaching. Law finds a preferred rhythm and angle as Luffy gradually loosens up. They exchange kisses and call out each other's names until their skin carries the scent of the other, their closeness verging on a frenzy of daring caresses against flushed, sweat-drenched skin.

Luffy comes first, feeling the fiery release of his seed in his stomach before the wave of pleasure washes over him. When it does, it synchronizes with his heartbeat, causing him to throw his head back against the yielding feather pillow. Law's face is nestled in the curve of his neck, gripping his waist tightly as he reaches his own climax. His arm slides under Luffy, lifting his hips off the mattress and pulling him close; his cock is unbelievably deep inside him. It hurts so much that Luffy cannot deny it, but the pain sends shimmering flashes of light against the darkness behind his half-closed eyes.

Law's scent is warm; the pulsation of his arousal echoes the throbbing Luffy feels against his chest. He enjoys the bittersweet mix of intense euphoria that quickly fades as the pain begins to subside. It takes Law only a few moments to register the abrupt change in his breathing, causing him to turn away from Luffy and observe the serene expression on his face. As he does so, the sense of loss is so profound that Luffy instinctively wraps his arms around Law's neck once more, overcome by a sudden urgency not to be parted from him.

"Did I hurt you, little prince?" Law whispers into the darkness of his hair. "If I did, I'm truly sorry. It wasn't my intention."

Luffy shakes his head and lets out a deep chuckle. "Don't be absurd, silly Torao," he sighs, his breathing steady. "You made me feel better than a full stomach. I want to experience that again," he smiles, gently stroking the damp curls that fall across Law's forehead. "I think you care too much about my well-being. Concern for your own well-being would only enhance your handsome appearance." He closes his eyes and stifles a snort. "More than it already is, of course."

Law, in turn, gives him a gentle pat on the side. They now lie side by side, and the man appears so solemn that it would be comical were it not for their recent actions. They look into each other's eyes and lose themselves in the depths of time. Minutes pass, and Luffy begins to wonder if he should be worried, but Law's deep voice suddenly breaks the silence.

"I can't believe it; are you trying to seduce me?" He covers his eyes with his forearm. "You, of all people in the damn Seven Seas?"

"Well, how did it go? Did it work?" Luffy laughs.

Law rolls his eyes, more exhausted than awake. "Yes, surprisingly, it worked."

With another laugh, Luffy leans in for a deep kiss, and Law responds by wrapping his arms around his slender shoulders. Lost in the embrace of Law's tender lips, Luffy makes a decision.

He refuses to dwell on the future of their relationship or the challenges that come with their arranged marriage. Though time is fleeting, Luffy decides to cherish every moment they share: every kiss, every touch, every stolen moment... He will treasure them in his heart.

And in times of adversity, Luffy will not be consumed by torment or anger. He will find solace in the immense support and wisdom bestowed on him. He will strive to be a great, just, and resilient chief in the service of his people. But until that moment comes, he will cherish every aspect of his loving bond with Law.

Luffy nestles his head against Law's chest, listening to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat—a soothing melody echoing in the stillness of the night. Law's arms are wrapped around him, pulling him closer as if to shield him from the outside world.

"I love you, Torao," Luffy whispers, slowly falling into a deep sleep.

Law smiles against Luffy's hair, gently kissing his head. "I love you, too," he replies, and then everything fades away.

After a long search and many sacrifices, Luffy has finally found the beautiful and coveted Wonderland of his dreams.
