Work Text:
“Thank you so much, Yongsun-ssi! I will see you soon, then?”
“Ah, about that,” replied the woman on the phone.
“Yeah? Is there any problem?”
“No, not a problem… Just, I know we talked about this as if I was to come and meet the kids, but, being the chief I can’t just leave the place unattended for even an hour, you understand?”
“Oh, yeah, sure! I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have assumed so.”
“Ah, you sound so kind. I truly would love to meet you! But alas, I’m sending three other firefighters in my stead, Han Jisung, Bang Chan and Kim Seungmin. They’re young so I hope they will be even more liked by the kids, and they are very capable.”
Minho exhaled in relief, for he knew Yongsun was the best in her field and trusted her judgement on it. If she said these guys were capable and would be liked by the kids, then he would not be nervous about letting three strangers enter his kindergarten. Well not his, but he felt the big responsibility of having to care for little humans as something not to take for granted. His degree was important to him, his job more so and the kids the most. Especially his favourite ones, even though he wasn’t allowed to express favouritism.
The project he was about to present to the kids was something he and Changbin came up with, with Changbin’s dad being a firefighter in the prime of his days. Minho, with his passion for firefighter dramas (and men in firefighter get-ups, but that’s a story for another day), wholeheartedly agreed when proposed with the idea of showing the kids how these heroes worked, and what their day-to-day life consisted of. So he came in contact with his college buddy Hwanwoong, who he knew had some connections with the fire department (aka, his boyfriend), and he gave Minho Yongsun’s number and recommendation.
After he adjusted the details of the meeting in his schedule and confirmed with Yongsun once again, he went to Changbin to share what the plan would be for the project.
“Hey, Bin-ah, here’s the schedule for the firefighter project.”
“Oh thanks, hyung! Just have to put the little monsters to sleep and then I’ll be over there to check everything”, replied the other.
“Hey we are not monsters!!” said one of the kids clinging to Changbin’s arms.
“Yeah! You are the monster and we have to run away from you!!”, the little girl grabbed the little boy away from Changbin’s arms and dragged him away screaming and laughing. Changbin pretended for a bit to chase them, but when Minho put on his stern “time to listen to the grown-ups” face he helped him put the kids to bed for their afternoon nap.
When every little creature was finally spent and snoring in their beds, Changbin and Minho looked over the timetable they had prepared and sent it to Hyunjin who was home for a family emergency. They discussed what activities the children would be able to do, and after making a list Minho sent it to Yongsun.
minho
Hey, it’s Minho from Sunshine Kindergarten! Here’s a list of activities we thought would be great for the kids!
Fire safety lesson, learning about the fire truck and its parts, climbing game (they have to rescue their favourite toy) and then maybe have them prepare an obstacle course?
yongsun-ssi
Hey Minho! The list is perfectly fine, we’re used to doing all those things when visiting schools
I’ll send it over to the others, and here is Chan’s number, since he is my second in command: XX XXX XXXX XXX
minho
Perfect! Thank you so much once again, Yongsun-ssi!
yongsun-ssi
Any time!
He and Chan texted for the next few days, fixing every detail of the fire department’s visit to the kindergarten. The young second in command was easy to talk to, available at any time of the day and accommodating with Minho’s requests. He didn't want any of the children to be in danger and he seemed to be in great hands.
Chan also talked about his coworkers with great respect and esteem, if not a bit like a father figure showing off his kids. Seungmin and Jisung better be up to what Minho was expecting of them after the way their leader talked, but he was sure he wouldn’t be badly surprised.
On the school side, Changbin, Hyunjin and Minho made sure to send out information sheets to the parents about what they were going to be doing, making them sign them and making sure that every child would get to experience everything.
After what seemed like months of preparing for the big day, but was actually only a couple of weeks, the day finally came. Hyunjin was making sure that the kids were all sitting down, Minho was fixing the last things to make the classroom feel more welcome for everyone and Changbin went to open the door after the bell rang.
When the three firefighters entered the classroom in which Minho was making the kids sit in order, three things happened at once.
Felix decided to start screaming, making Jeongin - who was beside him - jump in fear and run.
Jeongin went straight to Minho, making him stumble with the force of the impact.
Minho stumbled and felt himself fall, but then strong arms caught him, and a huffed laugh tickled his ear.
And listen, Minho loved firefighter tv shows. He knew they’re mostly not realistic. He knew not all firemen are hot. His expectations were low, but he still had them. And wow . He wasn’t expecting an honest-to-god hello-is-this-the-party stripper to enter his kindergarten and to catch him in his strong, strong, arms.
As he tried to pull himself together he heard Hyunjin snickering, “Hyung, I know we have firefighters here today, but that doesn’t mean your ears have to be on fi-”. Before he could finish Minho was on his feet, sending a glare his way that made all the children - and the adults - in the room stand in attention. He vaguely heard one of the firefighters - the one with the wide shoulders (yes, he was still appreciating them all because, again, wow )- snicker, but trying to put on a serious face in front of the teachers and the kids.
“TEACHER!!!” screamed Jeongin, “Why are your ears so red? Are you trying to copy the big fire people?”. Minho spluttered, not knowing how to react to the kid who was suddenly his second favourite. He saw Changbin giving the child a high five, Jeongin accepting it with a very confused look on his face.
“Right,” he said, not replying to the young child and ignoring the curious looks of the firefighters. “Everyone, let’s calm down and welcome the firemen with a big applause!” The kids cheered, excited to finally meet their heroes. The one with the wide shoulders moved forward, imitating Minho in clapping his hand along with everyone. Ah, so this must be Bang Chan .
“Hello everyone! My name is Bang Chan, and I’m the second in command at the Songpa Fire Station here in Seoul!” The kids shouted back with their practised “Hello Mr. Firefighter!!!” and the three men in orange and red suits laughed at the warm welcome.
“These two behind me are my colleagues and friends, Han Jisung and Kim Seungmin! Remember, children, even if you’re working it’s important to always make friends! These two are very important to me, and we saved each other’s lives many a-time!”
The children were hanging onto his every word, entranced and serious looking. Minho noticed Felix taking Jeongin’s little hands in his, squeezing tightly, as if to mean he would never let go. He and Changbin met eyes, both endeared at their favourite pests. Hyunjin had a hand on his chest and a fond look in his eyes.
Then the one who saved Minho from his fall stepped forward, and the kids weren’t the only ones paying extreme attention.
“Hello little dudes and pretty princesses!” Oh no, he was so stupid. He wanted him now. “I’m Jisung, and I will help you today to play with us!” He noticed the warning look from his chief and coughed, “In total security of course!” A few of the kids laughed and he winked at them with an easy smile. Fuck he was so hot .
“And I’m Seungmin, you’ll be safe with me everyone.” the other young firefighter said, more serious than Jisung, but with a gleam in his eyes that indicated mischievousness. Minho knew all too well when someone was lying, being a teacher to young kids that tried to avoid admitting guilt in any way possible.
“Okay, everyone! For the first activity we need to go outside, but before that we need to decide on a partner! They will stay with you all day, and they’ll be your friend to save when we try a small obstacle course, so choose wisely!” Chan said.
Minho, Changbin and Hyunjin helped the kids pair up, making them stand in line behind the firefighters. Thankfully, they didn’t have problems with the children making friends, and everyone found a companion without too much hassle.
The teacher sent an okay sign to the first firefighter to meet his eye, Jisung smiling sweetly at him before making a silly improvisation of a soldier leading them outside, the children following along with his “1, 2!”. WHY was he so sweet, can he stop? Minho was already fed up with this man, and he just met him. This was not going well at all.
When the class reached their destination, Hyunjin made them all sit in line in two rows, the partners facing each other. As soon as everyone was at their spot, the firefighters began to introduce them to their job, mainly talking about the cool things to first obtain the kids’ admiration, even when they already had it. Well, they certainly had Minho’s; his gaze was fixed on the younger man - they had told them their age, after a child had asked them - as he hanged back to not disrupt the class, and to make sure nobody noticed him ogling Jisung’s arms now free of the heavy jacket. What a sight for sore eyes, truly.
Hyunjin came near him and leaned into his side, whispering, “Changbin really did us a favour, huh? What a way to renew passion in fire security and all that jazz.”
“Are you sure you want Changbin to hear you say that?” Minho replied, cocking a teasing eyebrow the other’s way.
“Oh, he doesn’t mind, he knows I prefer his muscles either way.” Hyunjin laughed, “What about you, though? I certainly saw the way someone’s muscles got you all hot and bothered.”
“Hyunjin, the kids!” the older man swatted at him, mainly trying to hide the way his ears reddened, again. Jeez, he really needed to cool down. Pun intended.
“Oh, don’t worry! They’re too entranced with your boy toy anyway! Look how good he is with children!”
“Don’t even begin, I noticed. Way too much.”
“Hyung!!! Now who’s being too upfront about his br-!” the words were muffled by Minho’s hand as the firefighter in question approached the two, looking amused. Curse the night in which he got drunk and confessed way too much to his friend.
“Um, sorry to interrupt whatever’s going on here,” the firefighter said with an annoying smirk, “but I wanted to ask where the pump is. You know, for the water.”
“Oh yeah, for the water, ” winked Hyunjin. Minho hid his face in his hands, not having the strength to even blush at that point.
“Yeah, okay, ignore the grown child and follow me inside.”
He instructed the other on where to attach the pump - which the firefighter already had, of course - and then followed him to the truck to start the water, blocking it before bringing the pump over to the children, who were all waiting in earnest attention.
Seungmin was explaining how they used it in different situations, but the kids were so excited for the upcoming series of instructive games that they barely listened to him.
As the day progressed between the awaited water games and an obstacle course, the teachers and the firefighters collaborated in order to make the children happy and ensure their safety. When nappy hour came they were all exhausted, ready to finally rest a bit. Hyunjin and Changbin headed with the kids inside the classroom, while Minho led the firemen back to the entrance, making sure they got everything they had taken out of the truck back.
Chan thanked him profusely, talking about how it was important for the kids to learn while they had fun, so it stuck better in their heads.
When they were about to leave, though, a mass of blonde hair and freckles ran past Minho and onto Jisung, crying and screaming, Changbin following close behind.
“Don’t go away P-PLEASE FIRE HEROO-O-O,” sobbed the kid. Jisung looked at Minho with eyes so wide he looked like a deer caught in headlights.
“Felix! Felix, baby, he has to get back to work,” said Minho gently, getting closer to the child who was gripping Jisung’s leg with his little hands.
“B-BUT HE-HE”
“It’s gonna be fine Lixie! You know he’s coming back tomorrow, right?” Minho patted the kid’s hair, trying to pry his hands away from the firefighter’s red pants. When he managed that, Jisung instantly lowered himself to Felix’s height.
“Hey, little dude,” he said softly, “what’s going on in that head of yours, hm?”
Felix’s lower lip wobbled, eyes still shiny with tears and small sobs still coursing through him. He mumbled a little, “You’re gonna be in scary places if you go.”
Minho and Jisung locked eyes, still a bit worried but very endeared at the confession.
“Yeah, Lixie, but that’s his job and he’s very good at it! Or else he wouldn’t be here, talking to you all, right?”
“Exactly, young man! I’m very good and, as you said, if I don’t go to the scary places to help people, then no one will, do you understand now?” Felix nodded, still a bit uncertain but looking more convinced.
“S-so you’ll be here tomorrow?”
“Yeah, baby,” Minho melted even more, “and I’ll tell you about the cool things I did, if you want.”
“YEAH!”
“Okay, Lixie, now that we have a deal, go back to Changbin and take the biggest nap ever, you deserve it,” said Minho.
Felix finally left the two and went into Changbin’s arms, hugging him tightly to feel even safer. Minho and Jisung rose with a sigh, looking at them until the teacher closed the classroom’s door.
“You’re very good with kids,” said Minho. Out loud. He didn’t mean to, but well, here we are. Thankfully he didn’t add a ‘can I marry you?’. That stayed in his head.
“Oh, ergh,” Jisung was now the one blushing, a hand going up to his head in embarrassment. “I just have a lot of nephews and nieces, so I have training,” he laughed, still a bit sheepish. “It’s an honour receiving that kind of compliment from a kindergarten teacher.” Okay, so the man could be flustered, interesting.
“Hm, well, you’re very good so accept the compliment,” said Minho. “Now, didn’t you say you had to go save people?”
“Oh! Right,” Jisung replied sheepishly, huffing out a small laugh. The plan to make him more flustered was working, but he better not risk it too much, or else the tide will not look good for him.
“Thanks for calming Lixie down, then. See you tomorrow, Jisung.”
Jisung bowed, before sending him a blinding smile that left the teacher with weird palpitations. He turned and ran towards Chan and Seungmin, who were expecting him by the truck.
When Minho went inside, the kids sleeping peacefully after a long day, Changbin and Hyunjin were already looking at him with crossed arms, like the couple of annoying old married people they were. He was still thinking about how the firefighter was able to calm Felix down in a matter of seconds, while it took them, the three teachers , at least ten minutes before he quieted his sobs.
“So, a firefighter, huh?”
“Can’t do this right now, Changbin, leave me be,” Minho tried to send him one of his stares, but Hyunjin was holding his back strongly, giving him courage. Damn it, they were becoming too strong as a couple .
“What did you think of sweet Jisung?” Hyunjin was wiggling his eyebrows way too hard for a question that didn’t have a double meaning.
“He was fine.”
“Oh, I’m sure he was fine , did you see those arms?”
“Baby, you can’t speak about arms, have you seen yourself?”
“Mine are hugs-loving arms, making the children feel safe arms, his are saving people from buildings on fire arms, soot covered arms, for-Minho-to-drool-on arms.”
“I think you should stop or else we will have to call them again to calm down the red of his ears.”
“I don’t think they’re gonna help with that-”
“Teacher Minho?” Oh thank god . Minho looked down to see Jeongin holding his pillow and looking at him with teary eyes.
He went with the kid to calm him down and help him fall asleep again, ignoring the thoughts that his so-called friends installed in his head.
While the day went on and they closed up the kindergarten, a Jisung-shaped space formed in his mind. He couldn’t stop thinking about the younger man, about his sweet smile and gentle manners with the kids. And okay, maybe at how good he looked, too. The man truly had it all. He hadn’t been in a relationship for some time now, not since Minhyuk the year before. They had a sweeping and passionate love story, but they ended up parting on good terms once the spark had fizzled out. Pun not intended.
There was something in the way Jisung instantly attracted him, and not only physically. Maybe he would like to know more about the firefighter. He truly couldn’t wait for the following day to come.
Okay, so maybe he went a bit overboard in getting ready for work this morning, but nothing too noticeable, right? Or not, judging by the look Hyunjin gave him when he went into the teacher’s room.
“Did you just put on makeup to work? In a kindergarten ?”
“Shut up, I wanted to look good. Can’t I look good at work?”
“Sure you can, but you know that the kids will probably ruin all the work, right?”
“That’s why I chose waterproof makeup,” mumbled Minho. Hyunjin shook his head, still in shock. When Changbin entered and looked at him, he decided to bolt out of the room to avoid any new comments.
The children arrived one by one, carrying their backpacks and leaving their special lunches - today was bring your own food day - from home on the designated table by the entrance. Hyunjin had the role of marking each box with the name of the respective owner, Changbin made sure every kid took off their shoes and jacket before entering the classroom and Minho was inside, welcoming them.
Once every kid had arrived, they started the morning assembly. They explained that today was the second day of the firefighter project and that they should think of questions to ask them, since the following would be the last time the firemen would visit.
Felix and Jeongin readily ran off to Minho once the assembly finished, hand in hand. They asked him to write down their questions because they had “SO MAAAANY”. Endeared, the teacher grabbed a pen and wrote everything they shouted at him on the piece of paper they prepared for the project.
Once he was done, the kids gathered up for the dance hour - the time in which they could express themselves with their bodies to some fun music - and moved with the pent up excitement for the firemen’s visit exuding clearly out of them. At the ringing of the door bell they all shrieked, getting to their position without Changbin having to tell them.
Hyunjin went to open the door, and Chan, Seungmin and Jisung came through.
“Heya kids! How is everyone feeling today?” asked Chan.
While the children answered, each trying to get a reaction from one of the men, Jisung approached Minho, smiling. Oh, okay, we must stay calm people!
“Hey,” he said. Just one simple hey and smile and Minho was already done for. That was not the plan.
“Hey,” he replied after a bit.
“It truly feels like we are some kind of idol, coming here. Look at all the fans you gave us.”
“Ah, that was all thanks to you, though,” laughed Minho, “we didn’t do anything.”
“Well, then I shall thank you for the opportunity,” Jisung bowed, imitating a knight. My knight in shining armour, maybe?
Minho tried and failed to hide a snicker. “Stop being stupid, the kids are waiting for you.”
“I think you like that I’m stupid.”
“You don’t know that.”
“But maybe I do,” Jisung smiled cheekily, before finally going to his colleagues who were waiting for him. “Also, you look very pretty with makeup on,” he said over his shoulder.
Minho, once again, had to hide his red ears. He felt a small hand tugging at his sweater and looked down at Jeongin.
“Teacher Minho, can I stay with you today?” He softened and took the child’s hand in his own, leading him outside where the firefighters were installing the course they had prepared for the day.
He looked over and found Felix attached to Jisung, following him around like a lost duck that imprinted on a new parent. Cute .
Chan was explaining that today they would try to rescue their favourite toy, hidden on the oak tree planted in the garden. The obstacle course they had practised on the day before was already set up, and a ladder was propped against the trunk. Seungmin was bringing over the fake flames the kids had drawn the week before in preparation for the project, marking the places that could be dangerous so that they would know to avoid them.
Felix went first, wanting to show Jisung how good he was. Jisung followed him attently, holding out his arms when the child wobbled on his feet. Minho looked on, every second more fond of how the two interacted. Changbin and Hyunjin didn’t even mock him, they were asserting the firefighter, seemingly approving of him.
When Felix managed to get his kitten plushie everyone cheered for him and the kid smiled brightly, his freckles bunching up along with his small cheeks. Jisung took him off the tree and held him a bit, congratulating him. Felix looked shy but proud, hiding a smile in the fireman’s neck and hugging him before asking to be let down. Damn, wish that were me .
Minho quickly shook every Jisung shaped thought out of his head as Jeongin was called for his turn, fox plush waiting on the oak tree. The teacher followed attentively along the course with the child, but wasn’t quick enough when, after a small obstacle, Jeongin fell down. While usually the 5-year-old would cry, he looked at the firefighter and stood up again with a serious expression on his face, continuing without problem, apart from a few wobbles here and there. Minho was so proud he almost cried, Hyunjin was looking with his mouth wide open at the change of attitude. Felix cheered even louder for his best friend.
When Jeongin managed to save his fox plushie, the cheers for him were the loudest, and his big smile showed his cute dimples. Minho couldn’t help but take him down the tree and squeeze him, bursting with pride. Jisung’s claps were the loudest, too.
Getting in his good books by supporting his favourite kids, I see . Well, he couldn’t say it wasn’t working.
After a day of saving plushies, the kids were all pretty worn out, falling asleep without problem. Minho checked they were all okay and turned off the lights, letting them sleep in peace. Hyunjin entered the room, going straight for him.
“Your fire crush is about to go away, if you want to ask him something before he leaves,” said the younger, doing—once again—the eyebrow thing. He should seriously check with the doctor if it was a condition or not. Ignoring the comment, he went into the hall, closing the door behind him.
“Hey, Jisung,” he called, as the firefighter was about to close the door. He jogged lightly towards him, holding the door open. Not to seem desperate, or something.
“Hey, Minho-ssi, did you need something?” Was it Minho’s mind or was Jisung looking hopeful?
“I just wanted to thank you again, for today,” replied Minho, “and there’s no need to speak formally, you can call me hyung.”
“Okay, hyung-ah,” smiled Jisung, eyebrows raising and eyes lighting up with a - possibly - flirty glint, “but what did I do today?”
“Well, it was more of a general thank you to you and your colleagues but,” coughed Minho, flustered, “erm, I wanted to thank you in particular for helping Felix and Jeongin today. I know,” he interrupted with a finger the other, who was about to speak, “that I was the one that stayed with Jeongin, but he usually cries when he falls and isn’t very prone to doing these types of activities. Today, when he looked at you and your colleagues he gained this… strength and just got up and finished the course.”
“Well, that was very cool indeed, but what did we have to do with that?”
“You encouraged Felix and, as a consequence, Jeongin wanted to be like him. And you gave a perfect example without putting it on him and making him do that. He got there on his own, but thanks to yours and Felix’s example. So, thank you,” finished Minho.
“Oh, that,” Jisung seemingly didn’t know where to look, cheeks reddening. What a sight. “Thank you for saying that, really. I like that our work here is also helping people.”
“The kids make you grow in a way that is impossible to find with other humans,” said Minho, trying to express how much he loved his work without looking like a loser. “At least, that’s what I found out by working here.”
“Yeah, I think you’re right. Even during emergencies, kids will always surprise me. I’ve had adults worrying about their burned out belongings, but not one kid asking where their toy was before asking where their parent was. Or their friend, or anyone loved.”
“They care about people more than adults do, that’s for sure.”
They chatted for a bit longer, exchanging experiences from their lines of work. When, once again, Jisung was called back to the truck by his colleagues they looked startled, not having realised how much time had passed in their - apparently not - brief conversation. Seungmin was the one that came back to call his friend, and when he looked at the two, he traced his eyes up and down Minho’s body, searching for something only he knew. With a seemingly satisfied nod of his head, he left them with a last warning to Jisung.
Minho went back inside and spent the rest of the working day with a warm, fuzzy heart, thinking back at how easy it was to converse with the firefighter, how appreciative he was of his opinions, how he didn’t dismiss his every thought, but listened attentively at every word that came out of his lips. How his lips moved, the bottom one plumper than the other, almost as a perfect mirror to Minho’s- okay, maybe those weren’t proper thoughts during working hours.
When he arrived home he fed his cats, cooked himself something quick, and snuggled with Soonie on the couch, thinking back, once again, to Jisung. Maybe tomorrow he would finally be able to ask for his number, and then maybe they would be able to go on a date. And then he would maybe know how those lips tasted and how his arms felt around his waist and how good of a parent he would be when they get married and -
“Soonie, do you think I’m getting too far ahead?”
The cat meowed.
“Well, okay, no need to be so smug about it. I feed you, you know?”
Soonie meowed, again, looking - somehow - amused.
“Sir, if you continue this way I won’t give you Churu anymore.”
Soonie just stared at him.
“You’re right, I would never betray you like that, I’m sorry.”
As the following was the last day of the firefighter project, the kids were all excited, some sad, some moping a bit, but all knew this meant the most anticipated activity of all: riding the fire truck. Felix had not stopped jumping up and down, Jeongin behind him with a big smile on his face, fox plushie trailing after him on the floor. Hyunjin had tried to uselessly lift it at some point.
When the doorbell rang, all the kids ran to their respective places, not making a fuss and waiting with excitement for their beloved firemen to enter the classroom.
“Hello, everyone,” started Seungmin, “as you all know today is the last day we will meet,” a few sad aww resounded in the room, “for now,” the firefighter winked at Minho who wasn’t ready for teasing to come from the other party. What had Jisung told his friends?
“Right,” Jisung clapped his hands and chuckled nervously, trying to divert the attention. Changbin looked suspiciously from him to Minho and back. “What we’re doing this time is something a lot of you want to try: we’re going on the truck!” He cheered along with the children, a goofy smile bunching up his cute cheeks. Loser .
“We will divide you into three teams of five, each one will get a round of the neighbourhood with one of us and one of the teachers. Have you all asked permission from your parents and caretakers?” The children replied affirmatively in chorus. “Very well, then. To the truck!”
The class and the teachers went outside in a line, Changbin opening, Minho closing and Hyunjin making sure the kids had a partner to hold hands with. They went into the parking lot of the kindergarten and, after Chan instructed them on which parts a fire truck was composed of, they started forming the groups for the ride.
“I will go first with Changbin, and the first five kids can come with us, alright?”
“Perfect, Chan-ssi,” replied the teacher.
While the first group was making the round of the blocks, the other two were playing with what was left of the obstacle course from the day before, some kids climbing the ladder and others trying to jump up to the lowered bars. Jeongin approached Minho, eyes twinkling.
“Teacher!! Can I see more pics of fat-Soonie?”
Minho gasped, feigning offence.
“Jeongin! You know that Soonie wouldn’t like that?” the kid giggled, settling down beside him on the garden bench.
“It’s not a bad thing! He is fat and he is cute,” replied the child sagely.
“You’re right, you’re right. Well, okay look at these photos I took just yesterday.”
While the two swiped through Minho’s gallery, Jisung approached them, curious.
“Hey, can I ask what are you looking at?” the teacher was about to reply when Jeongin surprised him once again, taking the word first. And with an adult.
“We are looking at fat-Soonie! He is teacher’s cat and he is very cute!”
“Oh, well then, can I look, too? I love cats, especially fat ones,” said the firefighter.
“See, teacher? Even firefighter Jisung said that fat cats are cute,” Jeongin said.
“All right, you all win. You can sit, firefighter Jisung.”
“Well, thank you very much, teacher Minho. I can see that Soonie has taken the cuteness from his dad,” he said, with another one of his cheeky smiles.
Minho tried to ignore his face warming up, and replied, “I am not their dad, I’m merely their butler. I must serve them or else I’ll be evicted from my own house.”
Jeongin nodded sagely, having kittens at home as well and knowing what he was talking about.
“Ah, spoken like a true cat owner.”
“Do you know many cat owners?”
“Not really, but it’s part of my work,” Jisung laughed lightly. “We get way more cat-related incidents than serious stuff.”
“I want to help save kittens too!!” exclaimed Jeongin, chiming in from in between them. They jumped, not having realised how close they had gotten while talking. The firefighter recovered quickly, a faint blush the only sign he was caught off guard.
“Perhaps one day we can work together, Jeonginie, what do you say?”
“Yeah, I’d like that,” the kid nodded to himself, then smiled brightly at Jisung, dimples showing. Minho’s heart melted a little (more).
When Chan and Changbin’s groups came back, the kid buzzing with the need to tell their friends everything, Jisung shot up and turned towards Minho, holding up his hand.
“Want to go with my group?”
The older one blushed furiously, thanking every entity that he had left his hair wavy and covering the top of his ears. The confident smile the other was giving him didn’t reassure him that his reddening was passing unnoticed, but he only nodded at the question, before gathering up Jeongin, Felix and the other three kids that made up his group.
Jisung walked up confidently to the truck, taking the keys from his superior and moving expertly around the interior. He instructed the kids and Minho on where to sit, putting on seat belts for everybody - the teacher hastily put it on himself, avoiding further embarrassment - and sat at the wheel.
“Ready, everyone?”
“YEEEEESS!!” the kids screamed.
As they went around the neighbourhood, Jisung showed them the usual places where the firefighters worked, knowing every old lady by name and saluting cheekily at them as they passed slowly through the streets. Why was he always so charming, ugh . Minho tried not to focus too much on the way the firefighter's arms bulged as he turned the wheel, instead keeping his attention on the various and overwhelming questions the kids had, which Jisung answered without problem.
When the firefighter noticed how his gaze kept falling on his arms - thus, failing in his mission to be discreet - he winked at him, while answering Felix on where the “fire heroes got breakfast”. Minho averted his eyes, not trusting himself with meeting Jisung’s. He turned instead to the window, looking at the trees who would soon be starting to bloom with spring flowers.
They were about to round the last corner before going back to the kindergarten when a voice called. “Firefighter Han! Here!”
Jisung turned to look at the lady who called him, the kids and Minho perking up in attention. It was an old lady, looking distressed and trying to get attention from her yard. The younger man stopped the truck immediately, instructing the children and the teacher to stay inside while he checked in what he was needed.
Minho tried to keep everyone still, but, as he was curious as well, he let them look through the back window, Felix’s face squished against the glass and Jeongin with stars in his eyes as they looked at their hero climbing the tree on which a kitten was trembling. The teacher’s heartbeat started picking up as Jisung held out a hand towards the small cat and he let out a small gasp when he jumped down. Thankfully the kids were too busy cheering to hear him, so he didn’t feel too much embarrassment.
As the firefighter gave back the kitten to its owner, who was thanking him profusely, Minho tried to calm down his heart, admiration for the other man growing quickly. At this point it’s his own fault for being this sweet, fuck…
Jisung climbed back into the driver’s seat, bashfully trying to shut down the children’s praises as he pulled into the kindergarten’s parking lot. He tried to laugh at Minho, but when he saw his starry eyes his cheeks got even redder.
“Why are you staring at me like that?”
“It’s just… Good job, Jisung.”
“Oh,” he replied, looking away. “Thanks.”
The two helped the children come down the high truck, not being able to stop them, though, when they ran inside to tell their friends they saw a real hero in action. Chan and Seungmin looked amused as the others screamed that it was not fair, Hyunjin trying to explain that they themselves had been heroes just the day before and that it wasn’t a big deal. The kids didn’t look too convinced but they dropped the matter to ask Jisung directly what happened.
Changbin came up to Minho, smirking. “So did he save a cat? How are you feeling about that?”
Minho hid his face in his hands and groaned. “Ugh, Bin, you don’t want to know.”
Changbin just laughed and patted him on the shoulder. Jisung looked up at the sound, looking slightly worried for a second, before smirking when he saw Minho’s flustered face. The teacher tried to run away when he started getting closer, but Changbin’s hand on his shoulder kept him still. He sent a menacing look to his so-called friend, who didn’t move a single step. Only when the firefighter was close enough to speak did he leave to go to the kids.
“So,” started Jisung, stretching the last vowel in a playful tone, “were you also a fan of my hero actions, Mr. Cat Butler?” Minho’s ears flared up even more.
“I mean, I wouldn’t say “fan” I was just appreciating your job. You know, like a normal person.” Fuck, why did he say it like that?
“Mh hm… and would you call it appreciation even when you were looking at my arms while I was driving?” There was a dangerous glint in his eyes. He was caught.
“I- I-”
“Not that I was offended. But, I mean, if you would actually want to look you just need to ask.”
“I wasn’t looking! Or appreciating!” Minho was sure his face was the same colour as Jisung’s jumpsuit.
“Well, okay, if you say so. But just so you know, I would’ve let you,” he replies finally, before turning and going towards his colleagues. Shit . It was now or never.
“Wait, Jisung!” he ran to him, stopping him with a hand on his shoulder. His firm, firm, shoulder. Okay, focus.
“Yeah?”
“Can I, if you’re comfortable and not totally weirded out by me in which case I apologise in advance. I don't mean to be so weird. I'm so sorry, what I want to say is, erm, can I… Can I get your number?” Jisung looked, again, amused, but at the same time so, so fond.
“I was hoping you would ask that. And I don’t find it weird or off-putting, if anything, I think it’s cute,” then he seemed to think back at something, because his arm went up to the back of his head, as he did when he was embarrassed, Minho had noticed. “And I’m sorry if I was being too forward.”
“I like forward,” Minho reassured. The two exchanged numbers, a shy silence hanging over them.
“I also like losers,” the teacher said, laughing when Jisung looked quickly up, slightly offended and with a “Hey!” that Minho ignored, running inside where the kids were already yawning and setting in their little beds. Jisung didn’t follow him, Chan calling him back to the truck. He simply shook his head, endeared.
Minho, in the classroom and with the kids asleep, was still looking at his phone with pure awe.
“Don’t tell me you actually got his number, oh my god,” Hyunjin whisper-shouted, sitting next to him. At Minho’s shy nod, he squealed, getting a stern shush from Changbin.
“Look at you being proactive!! I’m so proud of you, Minho. I hope he treats you right, or else…”
“You’re going to take away his nappy?”
“Hey! No, I’m going to call Changbin to beat him up.”
“Changbin wouldn’t hurt a fly.”
“Then I’ll call Doongie.”
“Okay, that might work. He is my fiercest brother.”
“That thing is a demon.”
“Hyunjin. One, two-”
“Oh, is that Lixie calling me? I better go see what he needs me to do.”
“Hm.”
Over the following week, Minho didn’t find the courage in himself to text Jisung first. Jisung didn’t text him either, making him think over their every interaction, analysing them to try and see where he failed. Did he really find him cute? He knew he was weird, a lot of people had told him so.
Maybe he was not interested and was just being polite.
“Dori, do you think I was too much?” Dori didn’t reply, but moved from the other end of the couch to his lap and started making biscuits on his thigh.
His phone pinged, making him almost jump.

Not the winky face
Maybe i do.
Minho’s face was beet red. So red, in fact, that Dori climbed up his chest to lick his face. That sobered him up quickly, and he got up to start on dinner, ignoring the next text Jisung sent him.
When he went to bed, though, he decided to not leave him hanging and he opened the message after plugging his phone in.
It was a pic. Of Jisung. A mirror selfie. Of him with sweatpants and a loose sleeveless shirt, arms bulging and sweat giving him a soft glow.
The text just read: im working out at work while we wait for the next call :3
What did he want with that damned photo and “:3” emoji? Oh no. Why did he text him? Minho wasn’t ready for this, he was going to bed, for fuck’s sake. He finally decided he was going to ignore the photo and the text. Well, at least to Jisung’s face, because his thoughts couldn’t move on from those arms. So what if he got off in the shower? That was his business.
Over the next weeks the two texted back and forth, flirty messages making both of them blush during work hours, and receiving teasing comments from their colleagues became a new part of their day. Jisung’s schedule was very variable, sometimes having a night shift and sometimes a day one, so his text often caught Minho off-guard during the day. He learned not to take this phone with him when he was with the kids.
But, as the teacher was too flustered to move things along and the firefighter didn’t know if the teasing had become too much, the communication between the two began to waver a little, with less and less texts exchanged. Minho became resigned to keeping his dreams of cheeky smiles, bulging arms and reddened cheeks just that, and continued on with his life. Firefighters had much more important things to do than think about making his tv dramas a reality.
Hyunjin and Changbin tried and failed to encourage him, to make him ask Jisung out, but to no avail. That is why, when he next saw him, he wasn’t ready at all.
He was walking home from the grocery store, a bag in each arm, when he saw Jeongin, shiny eyes, fox plush tight in his tiny hands and alone. He was looking around frantically, lips in a wobbly pout. When he saw Minho, he started bawling his eyes out.
“TEACHE-E-E-ER,” sobbed the child. Minho ran to him, abandoning his bags to the ground to take Jeongin into his arms.
“Jeongin, what’s happening? Are you alright? Why are you alone?”
“M-MOMMY NOT HE-ERE,” continued the kid.
“Jeonginie, how about we try and breathe together, hm? Come on, with me,” Minho inhaled, trying to get Jeongin’s attention by putting his small hand on his chest.
As the two were breathing together, though, Minho heard someone calling his name, and light steps running towards them.
“Minho! Everything alright?” asked Jisung, looking breathless.
“It’s the fire hero!” exclaimed Jeongin, eyes still a bit wet and snot coming down his nose. Minho took out a tissue from his pocket to clean his face, before turning to Jisung.
“I found him here crying and alone, it looks like he lost his mommy.”
“Oh no, little man,” said Jisung, lips turning down in a pout. “How about this, you stay here with teacher Minho and I go look for her, what do you say?”
“Y-yeah,” replied Jeongin.
“Here, this is her number, I have it for school stuff,” said Minho, handing the other his phone with one hand, the other still rubbing Jeongin’s back.
Jisung took his phone, calling the number while leaving to go search for her in the store. Minho finally managed to calm the child down, and sat with him on the sidewalk. They were playing together when the firefighter came back, a woman behind him looking anxious.
“Jeonginie!” the woman screamed. As the child looked up he started crying again, running to his mother to get picked up. When she was reassured her kid was fine, she turned to the two. “Thank you so much Minho-ssi and Jisung-ssi. I was distracted in a call and didn’t pay attention when we were coming out of the store. I was so worried something had happened to him… I’m really sorry this happened.”
“Just be sure to be more careful next time, please ma’am,” said Jisung, looking serious. Sounding hot in his work tone - okay, not the time again.
The woman agreed, bowing in thanks. Jeongin waved at them one last time before the two went off, the kid safely in his mother’s arms.
“Thank you so much, Jisung.”
“Ah, nothing you couldn’t manage on your own, I’m sure,” replied the younger man, not sure where to look now that they were alone.
“Yeah, but you helped a lot. And again, Jeongin became much calmer when he saw you.”
Silence engulfed them, neither of the two men sure what to say.
“Listen, I’m sorry about-”
“Do you want to-”
“Oh,” Jisung laughed, followed by a small giggle coming from Minho.
“You first.”
“Okay, um… I just wanted to tell you I’m very sorry if I made you uncomfortable with my texts and flirting. I didn't mean to be so forward,” said Jisung, looking down and scratching his neck. Shit he wasn’t expecting this.
“Oh my god, now I’m the one who’s sorry.”
“Huh?”
“I was too fucking shy to reply or to ask you on a date and-”
“You want to ask me on a date?” It was as if the insecurity had been kicked off of his body, the firefighter suddenly standing straighter and jutting his chin out a bit. He took one step, coming into Minho’s personal space. “What were you about to say then, hm?”
“I- nothing!”
“Oh, come on, now that’s not fair,” chuckled Jisung.
“You are not fair!”
“Yes, I see why you’re a kindergarten teacher now.”
“You-” Minho huffed, grabbing his grocery bags from the ground and turning to walk home, ears red. He felt Jisung full on laughing behind him, before hearing him run lightly and feeling his hand brush against his as he took one of the bags.
“Alright, alright, I’ll walk you home, no need to be so embarrassed. Though, I have to say, I like when your ears do that,” he motioned to the blush, not helping it go down. Minho just huffed and continued to walk.
Jisung started talking like nothing happened, like the time between texts didn’t exist and like their flirting was still going strong. With his easy attitude, Minho felt more confident in speaking to him, walking closer to him and brushing his free arm against Jisung’s. The firefighter was proving himself to be a perfect gentleman, checking the road for him each time they had to cross and naturally taking the spot closer to the passing cars on the sidewalk.
When they reached Minho’s house they both slowed down, too caught up in their opinions about the newest Ghibli movie and what was Miyazaki’s greatest work to date.
“I’m telling you, it’s Howl! The story, the ambience, Howl and Sophie’s story!”
“But Arrietty! It’s so pretty and calm and sad and -”
“And it has a fat cat. I think you like it just because of the fat cat!”
“That’s not true! It’s just a part of it and it just happens to be my favourite Miyazaki movie,” Minho said, feeling slightly indignant.
“Uh-huh, sure,” said Jisung, eyebrows going up sceptically. “Anyways, it looks like we arrived…”
“Yeah… I don’t want to hold you hostage but-”
“You aren’t!”
“O-okay, um,” Minho chuckled, looking away. “Well, since I didn’t finish earlier, would you… want to get dinner together sometime?”
Jisung smiled fondly.
“I’d love to.” Then, the fucker , took his hand, making his heartrate spike up, and simply dropped the bag he was holding in it. “I’ll be sure not to send other thirst traps or else we’ll have dinner in two months at this point.”
“So those were thought to fluster me!”
“Did they work?”
“That is classified information, bye Jisung have a good night,” said Minho, before turning abruptly and going inside. He heard Jisung laughing behind him and decided to ignore him.
Before going to bed a small, private smile made its way to his face.
Jisung and Minho were now constantly texting and talking via calls whenever they could. They still hadn’t fixed a day for their date, too focused on getting to know whatever they could about each other. Whenever Minho went to work and saw the fire truck pass by he craned his neck to see who was driving it. When it was Jisung, he would always beep the horn twice to get his attention and wink at him. There was also the added element of Jeongin screaming in delight each time he saw the truck from the kindergarten’s garden, always running to the fence to say hi. It was disgustingly cute.
“At this point I know that you saw Jisung before work just by looking at your ears, hyung,” said Hyunjin. “It’s embarrassing.”
“Shut up, it’s not like when you and Changbin were flirting it was better than this. I clearly recall having to see you both holding the kids and looking at each other all shy and shit. If you want children that bad just adopt you fuckers.”
“The cat bites back! Baby, don’t worry I will protect you!”
“Changbin-hyung! My hero!”
“Also, hyung, pay attention to your words Felix is already here and he has great hearing.”
“TEACHER! What does ‘fuckers’ mean?” the two looked pointedly at Minho, who barely kept in another swear at the question.
“It’s a grown up word, Lixie. Don’t say it until you’re a grown up.”
“My dad said grown up words are bad even when you're a grown up!”
“Well, he is right, but I was angry at the other teachers. Don’t worry though, we made up!”
Felix looked a bit unsure, but then nodded and ran towards Jeongin, who had just come in. Changbin and Hyunjin shook their heads at him. Tch , as if they never said a bad word in front of a curious kid .
That night, after a hard day of looking after snotty kids, Minho set up his kitchen to prepare something quick and delicious to eat. Jisung had texted him, lamenting how tired he was and how he was ready for his shift to end.
hot alert ! ! (jisung)

Minho snorted, looking around for his cats to give them their dinner before heating up his own. He called for all of them, but only Soonie and Doongie came to their bowls. He went into the living room, face scrunched up in confusion as Dori was usually the first to come for food.
“Dori-ah! It’s time for dinner,” he called. Not even a far meow in response. Weird.
He went to check all the usual spots in which his smallest cat liked to hide, under his bed, behind the washing machine, under the radiator, but nothing. He tried to call him again, but to no avail. His heart rapidly began to beat fast, anxiety and fear washing through him. This was not happening.
Shaking, with tears starting to gather in his eyes, he went into the kitchen to check again if Dori was somehow near his food bowl. Soonie and Doongie came up to him, meowing worriedly. He scooped them in his arms, needing their warmth to calm down a bit. A ping from his phone reminded him of Jisung’s texts.
Jisung . He could help him. He grabbed the phone quickly, trembling hands barely managing to tap his number on top of their chat.
The phone only rang one time before Jisung picked up.
“Hyung? Everything okay? Did you miss me already?”
“Jisung, Dori, he-” he couldn’t manage to hold in another sob, his shoulders shaking.
“Minho? Oh my god, what happened?”
“It’s Dori, I can’t - I can’t find him, I-”
“Okay, baby, breathe for me,” Minho tried to match his breathing to Jisung’s strong one. “Did you check all his usual spots?”
“Yeah, but he’s nowhere near, I-”
“Did you check the garden? Does he like climbing up things?”
“No, I didn’t, but usually he stays inside and-”
“Can you go check for me?”
Minho nodded, before remembering that Jisung couldn’t see him. Then he got up, still shaking, and went outside. Soonie and Doongie were staying close, giving him comfort in any way they could. He checked his garden, looking at the flowers he liked to attend to, but Dori wasn’t there. Just then, he heard a meow coming from the old magnolia tree his grandmother liked so much.
“Jisung,” he said, in a disbelieving laugh, “he’s okay. He’s on my tree.”
“Oh thank god, I was so worried too.”
“There’s one problem,” Minho continued, still a bit shaky from the adrenaline and the worry of losing his cat.
“What is it?”
“I’m afraid of heights.”
“Oh,” Jisung laughed lightly. “Do you want me to come be your kitten rescuer?”
“Please, but only if it’s not too urgent!”
“Don’t worry, I was about to close up my shift but Seungmin is already here to take over. I have a ladder in my pickup so I don’t even need to get the fire truck. Your knight in… sweats is coming!”
“I don’t even get the red jumpsuit?”
“Sorry to disappoint,” laughed the firefighter. “I’m gonna hang up now, I have to drive. Don’t worry Dori, your hero is coming!”
Minho hung up, feeling calmer and secure now that he knew where his cat was. He went to stand under the tree to check that Dori wouldn’t fall. The cat looked scared, meowing and clinging with his claws to a branch. He had a magnolia petal on his head that made him look even more pitiful. Minho cooed.
“This is what you get for trying to be adventurous, mister. Now we have to wait for Jisung and he’s going to see me all disheveled and - fuck I’m a mess! Soonie, you stand here and check Dori, I’ve gotta make myself look presentable.” Soonie meowed in agreement, settling under the tree. Or maybe he just wanted to fall asleep there.
Minho quickly washed his face to remove any signs of tears and snot, messing up his hair in a curated but hey-do-I-look-cute manner. He put on the sweater that his friends said makes him look pretty and went outside to wait for Jisung. Just as he was checking that Dori was still there, he heard Jisung’s pickup closing in on his street.
The firefighter climbed down his truck, went on the back to get the ladder and waved at Minho from the parking spot. He was wearing the usual sweats and sleeveless shirt Minho had learned he usually wore for work, easy to take off and get on with his jumpsuit.
“Hey, Min,” said Jisung, getting the ladder set up against the tree. Arms stabilising it. Why was the timing of his untamed thoughts always so bad ?
“Hey,” replied Minho, trying to strain his gaze away from those damned arms. “Do you need help in any way?”
“Just hold on to the ladder so that I can move more freely.”
Minho moved to do his task, holding with both hands the ladder and looking up to check that Dori wouldn’t accidentally hurt his- his nothing. Jisung. Oof. Too many emotions for one singular evening.
“Hey, Dori-ah. I’m Jisung. Nice to meet you. Would you like to come down so that your butler isn’t worried anymore?” Oh my god, he was talking to his cat like he did. He’s such a loser, I want to kiss him so bad.
Dori meowed. Then he hissed and scraped Jisung’s soft cheek. Jisung yelped, but in the moment the cat moved his paw he was able to get his hand under his belly and scoop Dori up in his arms. Then the maniac jumped from the ladder and landed on his feet like it was nothing, making Minho yelp in return.
“Jisung, oh my god! Warn a man next time!” Jisung just laughed, then presented Dori to him like he was some hard-earned reward.
“Here’s your feline, good man.”
“You’re so stupid.”
Jisung made a noise of protest.
“Not even a thank you?”
Minho huffed, but then smiled shily.
“We can have that dinner we talked about so much, if you want.” Jisung blushed slightly at that, a heart-shaped smile making its way on his face.
“I’d very much like that.”
“Do you get thank you dinners often, with your work?”
“Apparently, only from cute boys I’ve been flirting with for weeks.”
“Good.”
As Minho brought the cats in, Jisung helped him check that all the windows and doors were now closed. Then the teacher finished preparing the dinner he had started on, adding a few ingredients so that there was enough for two people. He also gave the firefighter a bandaid for the small scrape on his cheek.
Jisung helped him to set up the table, asking where everything was and brushing close to him each time he walked past him. Whenever he asked him something he touched Minho’s arm lightly to get his attention, making the blush on the older man’s ears deepen.
When they sat down to eat, they made light conversation, more interested in the swarm of feelings that were growing inside them than in ruining the perfect atmosphere. The air was becoming more charged the more they looked at each other, Minho not being able to take his eyes off the other man’s arms, and Jisung looking from his ears to his sweater paws engulfing his hands.
“So, is this really the date we’ve been talking about this whole time?” asked Jisung.
“If you want it to be, then yes,” said Minho. At the firefighter’s unimpressed stare he chuckled lightly. “I certainly want it to be.”
“Good,” hummed Jisung.
The two moved to get the dirty dishes to the sink, freeing the table and washing their hands in the process.
“You cook so well, hyung,” said Jisung, moving to get his hands on the teacher’s hips. He draped his body over Minho’s back, nuzzling his nose into his neck.
“T-thank you,” Minho replied, breath picking up at the feeling of Jisung’s lips moving lightly over his skin. “You can find out more about my cooking if you decide to go on other dates with me, you know?”
“Well, how can I say no to that, hm?”
Minho dried his hands on the kitchen towel and turned in Jisung’s arms, looking at him with sparkly eyes and a soft smile.
“So, you’re up to continuing this with me? I’m not too-”
“You’re not too anything, baby. Well, except for too pretty cause sometimes I can’t handle how you look at me. But then you said you like when you I look like a loser, so…”
“Heh, can’t deny it. And also, you don’t look like a loser, you are one,” said Minho, snaking his arms up to Jisung’s neck and pushing him towards the kitchen counter.
“Okay, okay let’s say I’m a loser,” Minho hummed in agreement, “but at least say that I’m your loser.” The teacher let out a disbelieving giggle, how did I get so lucky ?
Jisung got even closer to the teacher, moving his hands from his hips to his back. His eyes moved from Minho’s own to his lips and back.
“Can I kiss you?” he breathed.
“Yeah,” replied Minho.
Jisung moved onto his lips, pecking lightly once, then two, three times, until he stayed there, lips moving against Minho’s in a soft dance of which they were the main act. As soon as Jisung’s hands slid down his back and tightened on his butt, the kiss got hot, Minho’s lips parting with a gasp at the feeling. He hung on the other man’s biceps, squeezing them when the firefighter grabbed his thighs and positioned him on the kitchen counter. Oh, how he loved to be manhandled.
“So you can actually use those arms for good,” he hummed appreciatively. Jisung huffed in response, amused.
“I knew you had a thing for them since that first day when I caught you.”
“Well can you blame me? Now get back to work, pretty boy.”
“I think the pretty one here is you, look at that pretty blush,” he said, tracing his ears with the tips of his fingers, “but as you wish, jagi.” The teacher tried to deny his embarrassment as Jisung finally, finally , moved onto his neck, kissing down the side and sucking on the sensitive spot under his ear. Minho outright moaned at the feeling, amazed but not surprised that the younger man had found one of his most sensitive spots right away.
As Jisung continued on his mission of unravelling him, Minho was lowered more and more on the counter, feeling like a five star course meal being devoured. Not that he was complaining, that is. When he felt like exploding he signalled Jisung to stop.
“Hmm, what is it baby?” he asked, nuzzling into his tummy.
“Maybe we should move this to the bedroom, don’t you think?” Jisung hummed in approval. What Minho wasn’t expecting was to be picked up and brought across the apartment effortlessly. He tried to hide a moan, burying his face in the other’s neck.
Jisung noticed, because of course he did.
“Does my little kitten like to be manhandled?” Minho tried and failed to deny it, making the firefighter laugh affectionately.
“Don’t worry, baby, I will take care of you.”
Jisung positioned him on the bed with care, shedding his soft sweater and placing kisses and small bites whenever a new slip of skin was revealed, making Minho feel worshipped in ways he never felt before. As the younger man finally took off the last of his clothes Minho opened his legs as wide as he could, showing off. Yoga really did pay off, huh.
“God, look at you,” moaned Jisung, hands skimming over the older man’s thighs.
Minho retrieved the lube from his side table, chucking it at the firefighter to spur him on. He needed those hands in him yesterday. Jisung chuckled, amused, but then got to the task like the perfect man he was.
By the time he was ready he was a moaning mess, blush taking over his whole chest. Jisung couldn’t seem to take his eyes off of it, not helping his cause. To try and distract himself he turned them, climbing on top of the other man’s lap, legs encasing his waist. So small what the fuck .
He needed to think of anything else, trying not to cum before having Jisung inside him. That would be embarrassing, even more than the mess he felt he was right now.
“You know, Jeongin always asks when will you next visit him,” said Minho.
“Baby, you know I love talking about the kids but can we not do this when you’re about to ride me into the next world?” replied Jisung, eyes glazed over with want, hips stuttering as Minho finally, finally , sank on his dick, looking glorious above him.
Minho snickered, like the little shit he was. Then proceeded to do exactly as Jisung said.
It had been months since the two started dating, and all Minho could say was that he was happy he agreed to do that fateful firefighter project. Not only did it help his students grow in confidence and in desire to help others, but he also, finally, got his tv-drama-looking firefighter boyfriend. So who’s the real winner here?
And if Jisung gifted him with a sexy firefighter calendar for New Years, complete with Soonie, Doongie and Dori as supporting models, who was he to say no to his dork of a boyfriend?
