Chapter Text
Izuku was a little over 2 years old when he first noticed it.
He and Bakugo were playing on the playground when Izuku fell sideways off the slide.
Izuku screamed in terror at falling off this (to him) massive slide and onto the ground.
He was surprised to find that instead of a hard impact on the ground like he was expecting he landed softly onto a pile of sand.
“Was that here before?” he thought.
Izuku hears his mom running over to them asking what happened over and over again.
Before Izuku can even say anything Bakugo chimes in,
“Izuku fell off the slide.”
Inko quickly checked Izuku for any signs of injuries, upon finding none she quickly scooped Izuku into a hug.
“Luckily that pile of sand was there Izuku, you could have gotten hurt!”
“But that pile of sand was not there” Bakugo chimed in, “It appeared below Izuku as he fell!”
“Oh, hush brat, sand can’t just appear out of thin air!”
“No! it happened, it really happened! The sand just appeared!”
Izuku hearing this back and forth decided to defend Bakugo.
“Kacchan’s right there was no sand and then there was!”
“See I told you I was not lying!”
Both parents looked at each other and then back at their kids, in silence, before Inko piped up.
“I think playtime is over for today, you both seem to have gotten too much sun and your imagination is running wild.”
Bakugo, of course, did not like being called wrong.
“But I saw it happen the sand just appeared!”
Inko picked up Iuzku and was already starting to carry him away.
Izuku just looked back at the pile of sand and wondered.
Was it there? It does blend into the mulch ground a little bit, but it rained last night and the whole pile of sand was dry. Did it happen this morning? If it did then it should be warm under the afternoon sun.
There were so many questions swirling in Izuku’s head about what happened, that the only other sound that he heard were the muffled sounds of the Bakugos arguing about it all the way back to the apartments.
