Lucifers gaze went upwards ,glancing at the sky if you could call it that at least. Stars and a moon as red as his own eyes with a sky as dark as the hopelessness this place brought. That was how it was meant to be after all. Hell was for the ones deserving it and why should they get to enjoy the beauty of a night sky.
Oh how he missed the real sky. Gazing upon and endless universe without any limits. Stars and planets colouring the night sky a beautiful picture while the canvas was a deep blue. Nothing could ever compare to such a sight.
Those sights were no longer for him. Like stars break under their own weight when their time comes ,so did Lucifer after all. Yes ,he was like a fallen star and his light had ceased for a long time now.
It had been so long yet he couldn't forget. He was a creation of perfection after all, so why would Lucifer be able to forget. Ironic how this perfection was his downfall at the same time. Had he not been so perfect that he started questioning creation itself and the way things were done. If he hadn't interfered and unleashed evil who knows what would've been, but it was the right decision ,no? Humans deserved free will and his decision to give it to them was perfect in that way.
But no matter how perfect he was. Nothing could've prepared him or anyone for what was to follow. It was an injustice he'd done to the world ,to humans and to god. Questioned him and his decisions and freed something which shouldn't have been.
He stood with his pride to the very end. It was the right thing to do even if the pain was unimaginable. Not physically but mentally. How could a being so perfect be so mistaken in everyone's but his own eyes?
When everyone looked down on him and he refused to let go of his pride ,still. Eyes locked on him and suddenly he looked so small ,like a child that didn't know what it had done. Judgement was passed and he had to bid farewell to the heavens.
Falling to earth would have been half as bad ,but having doomed not only himself but angels who sided with him and the first human ,Lilith , to fall with him further than what was deemed possible. The earth opening underneath him and swallowing him into fiery pits no one had ever seen before.
A barren wasteland ,drenched in red which was now to be his home and the home of those he doomed with hid actions. While he was falling he still felt the eyes of his no longer familiars follow him ,until they didn't. The sky closed and he had his own land to rule.
That's what he wanted after all ,wasn't it? Questioning god and the decisions of his and taking action by himself. Now he got what he had asked for. A land to rule which would soon be filled with sinners. At least his powers stayed with him ,no one could take his perfection away from him ,not even down here.
Slowly he build himself a world in hell ,one he could manage. Even fell in love and had a child ,but none of his attempts to redeem the souls he had doomed were fruitful. This beautiful child of his or even his wife. They would never see heavens after he had doomed them to their eternal fates in hell. But he couldn't give up so he kept trying and trying. His hope slowly left his being ,the more he tried until eventually he gave up. His pride and being broken.
After years and years it was bound to happen after all. His wife keeping his child away as she couldn't bare to see him drown in a sea of his own making. The child , Charlie, deserved an imagine of her father which resembled him and not that of a broken spirit. Eventually even she left and he was left to wallow in sorrows he couldn't even explain anymore.
They were just there and nothing more. He was alone and his perfection that once was had collapsed as a star when it's time had come. Like an animal that new it's time had come and set down in a beautiful place to bid goodbye to the world but hid had been no beautiful goodbye. But it didn't matter anymore and there was no way to fix things.
"Dad...? You okay?" A voice ,the voice of his beloved daughter made him look at her after having been caught in his own mind for who knows how long. He answered with slight hesitation "Yes everything is okay now" and a geniune smile graced his lips.
It may had been hell but he had a beautiful daughter that fought for the same dreams he once had. If there was a way he was sure his Charlie would find it. She was so strong and he would do anything to support her and her dreams ,which may still had been his ,but he couldn't acknowledge that yet.
Looking at her on the other side of the table on a balcony the sky behind may have not been what you'd see from heaven yet it couldn't have been more perfect. He and his daughter reunited ,fighting for the same cause. One truly couldn't ask for a better child and even if his pride wasn't the same as it used to be ,the pride he felt for Charlie was so much stronger than his own had ever been. He'd mend their relationship and show her the sky as he had known it one day.
Taking his eyes of the sky once again to look at his daughter he said in a soft voice "I couldn't be prouder of you. Don't ever forget that. I love you, Charlie"
Charlie ,not having expected the sudden verbal affection stood up and went to lean down and hug her dad. Nothing made her happier than finally having her father by her side again. "I love you too, Dad"
No matter what the world may throw at them no one would ever drive a wedge between them again. And if the world was to run out of light ,they'd be each others light and shine them the way.
A fallen star has seen much whether beauty, pain or it's own end but even then out of the remains a new star will form one day and bless the world with it's beauty once more eventually.
