Work Text:

Myoi Mina and Park Jihyo Officially Broken Up After a Year of Being Engaged

After a year of being engaged, it was recently announced that Myoi Mina and Park Jihyo had ended their relationship. This news comes as a surprise to fans due to how loved the couple was by everyone who knew them. The pair had been seen together on several occasions, with people noticing how they would affectionately look at each other in public. Those moments were truly beautiful for many fans who watched their progress, and this sudden revelation has left many people feeling heartbroken.

“You’ve been staring at your laptop for the past ten minutes,” Momo said as she paced to the kitchen island where Nayeon has been sitting.

Nayeon snorted, and before she could close her laptop, Momo had already taken a look.

"Mina, again?" Momo was not at all surprised to see the name. Ever since the news about Mina had been released, Nayeon had been keeping a close eye on everything Mina had been posting online. "Sometimes I still can't believe you and Mina had a thing." she remarked with a shake of her head.

Nayeon sighed in response as she unceremoniously slammed her laptop shut. She sent a glare at Momo but didn't utter a single word.

“What?” Momo asked, unable to hide the hint of defensiveness in her voice.

Nayeon rolled her eyes, shaking her head as if to say that she had already heard enough.

"Why don't you try to contact her? I'm positive that she will remember you," Momo suggested gently as she solemnly watched Nayeon. She pulled a juice box from the fridge.

Nayeon scoffed, crossing her arms over her chest. She was convinced that it was a bad idea, or maybe she was just scared that Mina had already forgotten what they had shared. She thought back to the last time they were together—the way Mina smiled when they talked, the way it felt like all their troubles melted away momentarily when their eyes met. But now it seemed like those moments never happened at all, as if everything had reverted to how it used to be.

“It’s not just that simple." Nayeon emerged from the kitchen island with a heavy sigh, her laptop tucked under her arm. She had promised herself that she would take some time to heal before seeking out any answers. “We promised that we'd heal first.”

“Aren’t you okay now? Didn’t you find what you were looking for? I thought you already had a talk with Chaeyoung," Momo said, hurrying behind her.

Nayeon was not pleased by the sheer number of questions that were being asked of her at once. The pressure of having to make a decision so quickly was unfavorable and weighed heavily on her. She sighed in exasperation and wished she could take some time away to process the situation on her own.

“It’s not just that simple, Momo,” Nayeon said slowly as they stopped in front of her bedroom door. “There are still a lot of things I need to figure out before I can make any decisions regarding Mina or us. It's complicated. Plus, I don’t know if Mina has already moved on from her relationship with Jihyo.”

“Are you scared?” Momo asked, her voice gentle.

Nayeon stood rooted to the spot, shell-shocked by Momo's question. What was she so afraid of? Mina had opened her heart unreservedly and written countless words, vowing that everything would go back to how it used to be between them. But still, Nayeon could feel a looming sense of trepidation in her mind, an invisible force that seemed to be actively blocking her from progressing in the direction she wanted to go.

“I’m not scared,” Nayeon said eventually, her voice small and vulnerable. “I just don’t know what to do.”

Momo reached out and wrapped her arms tightly around Nayeon. “That’s okay,” she reassured.

“Besides, I still have a month to get ready for whatever may come," Nayeon said softly, taking comfort in the warmth of Momo's embrace. She had been so overwhelmed by everything that was happening that she felt like she was in over her head.

Eleven months.

It had been an overwhelmingly long eleven months since Nayeon was left alone in the hotel room. An 11-month period that began with Mina’s departure and a letter that remained in Nayeon’s wallet. Eleven months of suffering from heartache as she tried her best to piece herself back together again. In those eleven months, Nayeon worked hard to come back stronger than ever before. The path to healing was riddled with obstacles for her to overcome, and the going wasn't always easy. She never anticipated just how immensely Mina's absence would affect her; it felt like a tug-of-war game between two parts of herself. Part of her wanted to stay stagnant in the pain she was feeling, while the other desperately wanted to move forward and find peace again. Gritting her teeth through all the trials and tribulations, she made steady progress with the pain at hand and eventually found the answers she had been looking for. Even though she knew it was worth every bit of work, she was nonetheless taken aback by how rewarding something so challenging could be.

Nayeon was about to get over it. Nayeon wanted peace for herself, and she wanted to heal so she could be with Mina.

…

“Good afternoon passengers. This is the pre-boarding announcement for flight 09T to Paris, France. We are now inviting those passengers with small children, and any passengers requiring special assistance, to begin boarding at this time. Please have your boarding pass and identification ready. Regular boarding will begin in approximately ten minutes' time. Thank you.”

…

In the midst of picking up the pieces and proceeding with her life, Nayeon still held onto a faint glimmer of hope that perhaps, just maybe, she would stumble across Mina somewhere in Seoul. Imagine a chance encounter where their eyes would meet and recognize each other among thousands of faces in the city. But with the city's immense population and Mina's celebrity status to consider, it seemed nearly impossible for such an event to take place. Still, this did not stop Nayeon from hoping. Nayeon was desperate to see and hold Mina in her arms.

mina_sr_my recently added to their story

Nayeon slowly exhaled the smoke from her mouth as she absentmindedly tapped on Mina's Instagram story. There it was—the picture that she had been waiting to see every day—and it was a selfie of Mina with her lips curled to a perfect smile with her hand against her chin. Suddenly, Nayeon's heart was seized with fearful anxiety. What if Mina didn't make it to France after all? What if she had forgotten about their promise? Forgotten about Nayeon and their special bond? Unforgettable memories began to flood her mind, and she felt a wave of concern wash over her.

Nayeon slowly put her phone down and looked up at the sky, ever hopeful that Mina was somehow making her way to the city. A single tear ran down her cheek as she quietly said a prayer for some kind of miracle. She absentmindedly sipped her coffee while she waited, hoping against hope that Mina would soon arrive. But she had to face the possibility that she was not coming—a realization that left her feeling disappointed and alone. Time seemed to be standing still as she sat there, her mind full of memories of times past when they were together.

She wished Mina was on her way.

On her way to France, Nayeon had been waiting for her.

Waiting impatiently in France, near the Musée du Louvre.

Every hour that passed felt like an eternity, and as she sat there in anticipation, she couldn't help but let her imagination wander off with thoughts of the two of them together exploring all the wonders of Paris again.

Then her phone rang.

Nayeon took an anxious glance.

Momo calling…

Nayeon filled her lungs with air as she gazed at her best friend's name on her phone, feeling a warmth rush through her body as she thought Mina was right there beside her. She felt herself smiling at the thought, almost able to picture Mina's name plastered on the device.

“Hey,” Nayeon answered in a low voice.

“What?” Momo was taken aback by the unexpected sound in her friend's voice. "Why do you sound so down and deflated when I can only assume you are with Mina right now?"

Nayeon let out a long, drawn-out sigh as she perused outside the museum, her eyes darting from left to right as she searched for the familiar face. Despite it being quite crowded today, she hadn't spotted anyone that she recognized yet and was slowly beginning to lose hope. “She’s not here, Momo.”

A couple of silences from Momo before she replied, “What time is it there?”

Nayeon glanced down at her watch and said, “It’s almost six.”

Momo drew in a deep breath and let it out slowly. “It’s still early. Maybe her flight got delayed.”

“I don’t know, Momo. What if she’s not coming?”

Nayeon could no longer take the overwhelming sense of anxiety. She withdrew her pack of cigarettes from her pocket, desperate to find any kind of relief. Her fingers trembled as she extracted one of the sticks and lit it. She inhaled deeply, savoring the sensation that came with each puff. The smoke filled her lungs and created a calming effect, allowing some semblance of peace to return. But this was only temporary; when she exhaled, all the anxiety came rushing back in full force.

“As long as the night is not ending, don’t lose hope," Momo said in a soothing voice, sensing the need for reassurance.

Nayeon's face softened at her friend's words, and she nodded slowly, trying to believe her. She reached down to pick up a strand of hair that had come loose from its usual place, tucking it behind her ear as she replied, “Okay.”

“Text me an update, okay?” Momo said calmly, “I know, Mina will be there.”

They spoke for a few more minutes before Momo had to end the call, leaving Nayeon in a state of silent apprehension. All she could do was wait and worry, envisioning all the horrid possibilities that could come from this situation.

Nayeon lit her fifth cigarette as she stared at the night sky, illuminated by the stars in all their sparkly glory. The cold chill of the wind against her skin sent tingles running throughout her body. It was as if in this moment, everything around was alive, and she was part of it—a forgotten entity merely observing its dark beauty yet still connected. Light from the nearby museum blanketed the area in a soft glow, and Nayeon felt comforted by it as she walked towards the Seine River.

“Nayeon?”

“Nayeon?”

Nayeon spun around in surprise when she heard her name called out two times over the booming music that echoed throughout the room. She hadn't expected to be addressed in such a noisy setting, but she quickly realized that someone was calling out for her attention. There it was—the eyes she had been longing to meet, the face she had been yearning for.

It was her friend Yeji’s birthday celebration, and Nayeon had been invited to attend. Despite the fact that she had other plans for the evening, she couldn't let down a friend on such an important day. She knew how meaningful it would be for Yeji if Nayeon showed up, so deciding to go was an easy choice for her to make. It wasn't like it would take too much of her time anyway, and it was another excuse to drink.

“Hey,” Nayeon said as she tried to sound composed. In that moment, her emotions were all over the place. It had been a long time since she last laid eyes on her, and yet her face hadn't changed one bit—it was just as she remembered it when they parted ways. She felt a sense of nervousness bubbling within her but pushed it down.

“Hey, Chaeyoung," Nayeon said her name forcefully.

Their gazes lingered as they looked into each other's eyes, deaf to the music that filled the air around them. The silence between them felt like an eternity, even though it was only a few moments in time.

Chaeyoung broke contact and laughed nervously. “I’m sorry. I think it’s a bad idea that I talked to you.”

Nayeon chuckled and shook her head. She said enough for Chaeyoung to hear, “No, it’s okay. I’ve been dreaming of this for so long.”

“Do you want to go outside?” Chaeyoung asked, pointing at the backdoor towards the garden.

Nayeon nodded and grabbed her jacket before quickly catching up to Chaeyoung. With each step, she felt a little more of the weight on her shoulder lift away as she got closer to the answer. Finally, they reached the garden, and Nayeon couldn’t help but savor her beer to dampen her throat.

“How are you?” Nayeon asked and started hugging herself over the cold wind of the evening.

Chaeyoung smiled, standing beside her as they looked at the stars in the clear night sky. “I’m doing well. I’ve been busy with work, but I can handle it. How about you?”

Nayeon took a deep breath and looked Chaeyoung in the eye before smiling. “I’m doing good.”

Chaeyoung sighed. “I never thought I’d see you again.”

“Me too," Nayeon whispered.

“Do you recall back in the day when Yeji would always come to us, asking to join us for lunch so she could save up money for her date?” Chaeyoung said with a soft giggle.

It was a sweet and funny gesture that truly touched Nayeon’s heart. Nayeon released her laugh as she recalled Yeji bursting through their apartment door. “I can still remember her going through our supplies just for her to take and survive for dinner.”

“Yeah.” Chaeyoung joined her giggles. “Look at her now. Finally having a stable job after college and throwing her own party.”

Nayeon nodded in response, sipping on her beer. She glanced at Chaeyoung and didn’t know she was looking right at her.

Their stare lasted for seconds before Chaeyoung shook her head and looked at the other woman sadly, feeling bad for the pain she had caused. She knew that she wasn’t able to treat her formally with such a heavy atmosphere lingering over them. “I’m deeply sorry. I can’t just pretend like nothing happened, knowing how I made you feel.”

Nayeon nodded slowly and closed her eyes to take a deep breath. Her face lit up with a small smile as she let out a soft chuckle. “It’s alright. It happened. I mean, it’s all in the past now; there's no use dwelling on it. I chose to move on and learn from it.”

“I’m sorry, Nayeon…” whispered Chaeyoung, barely audible. “I’m sorry I disappeared.”

Nayeon was at a loss for words, but she was immensely grateful to have finally heard the apologies she had been waiting to hear for so long. She felt relieved that after all this time, her wait had been worth it, or at least, her heart was okay, and she was just waiting for that moment.

“Are you mad at me?” Chaeyoung asked softly, her eyes illuminating with hope and fear at the same time.

Nayeon’s lip curled into a sad smile. She countered, “I don’t know. Should I be?” She met Chaeyoung’s eyes and added, “If it were you, would you be mad?”

Chaeyoung remained silent for a few moments as she wrestled with the question. She stood there, taking in the sight before her and feeling chills at all the implied words that hung unspoken in the air.

Nayeon breathed out, embracing the silence that surrounded them. She knew it was a tough question. But it was the first time she was speaking openly and facing Chaeyoung without any fear. Nonetheless, she knew the answer to her question.

“I’m sorry for leaving. I just... didn't know how to handle the situation anymore,” Chaeyoung let out.

Nayeon laughed bitterly. “You should’ve talked to me, you know? Explain it to me, or maybe leave a letter? Send me a text message or an email. Is that hard?”

“I can't—I don’t want to hurt you,” Chaeyoung said, her voice barely above a whisper.

“So, disappearing won’t hurt me?” Nayeon replied, her voice hitching.

“I wasn’t happy anymore, Nayeon. It wasn’t the same as before," Chaeyoung muttered.

"Well, at least tell me why,” Nayeon replied in a gentle tone, lightly chuckling as tears glimmered in her eyes. She was struggling to understand the cause, struggling to know the truth.

Chaeyoung looked at her, hesitating to answer. A convulsing shudder ran through their bodies as sadness erupted in the place.

“I fell out of love somewhere in between," Chaeyoung said with her head bowed in shame.

Despite it happening in the past, Nayeon still felt like someone had stabbed a sharp piece of glass into her heart. She let the fear flow freely from her eyes.

“I don’t know when. I just realized one night that it doesn’t feel the same anymore.” Chaeyoung brushed her hand on her face. “I tried to fight it, but I couldn’t. It was just... gone.”

Nayeon stared at Chaeyoung in disbelief, her lips quivering in pain as she tried to find the right words to say, but nothing came out as a single tear escaped her eyes. She put on a brave face and cleared her throat before speaking up again. “At least you tried.”

“I’m sorry." Chaeyoung covered her sniffles by biting her lip.

Nayeon chuckled above her tears. “It’s fine. That’s what I’ve been telling myself.”

Chaeyoung stared at her.

“That maybe there’s nothing wrong with me. Maybe it was more than I could handle. Maybe it’s not just my fault.”

“Maybe,” Chaeyoung said softly, her gaze still lingering on Nayeon.

The two of them sat there in silence as the night breeze blew against them with an unfamiliar warmth that reminded them that things were better that way.

“We could’ve tried new things,” Nayeon laughed through her tears. “Who knows, it might have worked. At least I could’ve put more effort into it.”

Chaeyoung smiled at her in understanding before reaching out and taking Nayeon’s hand in hers. “I’m sorry for not trying.”

"It's okay," Nayeon said, raising her head to meet Chaeyoung's gaze, and the two of them shared a reassuring smile that assured them everything was well. "I got the truth, which is what I've been telling myself for a year, and I'm happy that it was the answer nonetheless."

“It was meant to end anyway,” Chaeyoung said, squeezing Nayeon’s hand.

Nayeon smiled, staring at their hands. “Yes, it was.” She looked up, and the two of them shared a moment of peace under the stars.

The breeze cooled, and the night grew silent as they shared a moment of understanding. After what seemed like a year, Nayeon finally spoke up. “I’m glad I met you, Chaeyoung. Even if it ended this way.”

“Thank you,” Chaeyoung replied, wiping away the lone tear that had escaped Nayeon’s eye. “I feel blessed to have met you too. I am also glad that we were able to spend our final moments together like this and not fully end on bad terms.”

With a nod from Nayeon, they said their final goodbyes and exchanged a final embrace. Even though their relationship was ending, this night would always hold a special place in their memories as one of many ephemeral moments that demonstrated how much Nayeon and Chaeyoung meant to each other.

“Nayeon!”

Nayeon spun around in surprise when she heard her name called out two times over the crowded place. There it was—the eyes she had been longing to meet, the face she had been yearning for. And before she could get a single word out, a figure came and wrapped their arms around her, completely crushing her against them. She felt secure in the embrace, yet it stirred something within her that made her anxious.

“I missed you, Nayeon."

Nayeon felt a single tear rolling down her cheek as she felt the familiarity of comfort in their warmth. She wrapped her arms around her back and savored the moment she had been waiting for.

"Mina, you’re here?”

Mina had returned, just like she said she would. It was a moment that Nayeon thought she would never feel again, and tears of joy rolled down her face as they finally reunited.

Mina looked up, her eyes glistening with tears. She cupped Nayeon’s face and whispered over happiness, “Of course, I’ll be here.”

Without a word, the two of them hugged each other tightly.

Nayeon finally felt like all the hardship she went through was worth it; her heart finally belonged to someone again. She pulled out and said, “I thought you’d never come.”

“I’ve been waiting for this day,” Mina replied with a smile.

Their foreheads connected softly, neither of them aware of who had initiated it, but the kiss was worth all the aches, sorrows, and hardships they had gone through.

“You forgot something, though,” Nayeon whispered against her lips.

Mina looked at her curiously.

“My Espresso Latte,” Nayeon said, releasing a playful giggle as she reached out to touch Mina’s hand. She found the familiar she bought a year ago, and it made her heart flutter. It felt like it happened yesterday, and it felt like she didn’t go through a lot of suffering.

“I missed you, Mina.”

“I missed you, Mina.”

Mina released a hiss of frustration as she carefully gathered her belongings from the dwelling space they had once shared. The thought of hearing Jihyo's voice after everything that had just occurred between them was enough to make her sick to her stomach. Not only did Jihyo admit fault, but she had also violated her trust in a way that was unforgivable.

“Mina, please," Jihyo pleaded, trying to stop Mina from what she was doing. “Why don’t we try again?”

Mina turned back to look at Jihyo, her expression unreadable, before she spoke. “I can never forget what you did to me, and I don’t think I want to try again.”

“Come on, Mina." Jihyo tried to reach out, but it was swatted away by Mina. “We can travel around the world. I can treat you to the life you’ve always wanted. Please, just give me a chance to make it up to you.”

Mina scoffed, hurting at the touch of their skin. “Why are you still fighting for this, Jihyo? Aren’t you happy I’m finally letting you go to be with Sejeong? Isn’t that what you wanted?”

Jihyo quivered in pain as she looked into Mina’s eyes, searching for sympathy. “I don’t even want to be with her, Mina. It’s you. It’s you that I always love.”

Mina sighed and stepped back, away from Jihyo’s reach. “If you truly love me, you wouldn’t do that.”

“It was a mistake, Mina," Jihyo countered, her eyes swelling with unstoppable tears.

Mina had a small, dissatisfied laugh as she rubbed her temples and took one last look at Jihyo. She shook her head slowly in disbelief. No words needed to be said; the situation spoke for itself. “I’m tired of having this conversation, Jihyo. That’s the same thing you’ve been telling me.”

“Because that’s the truth," Jihyo whispered, her heart aching.

Mina shook her head again, overcome by the emotions surging through her. She opened her mouth and said, “It was a mistake you can’t just take back, Jihyo. I can’t forgive you for this, not now at least.”

“I can wait, Mina…” Jihyo replied pleadingly, her voice quivering. “I can wait for months, even years. As long as we’ll be together again.”

Mina took a deep breath and stared at Jihyo for a few seconds, her gaze intense but filled with sadness. She had so much she wanted to say, but none of it would matter because they were already broken. “Jihyo, please. Just stop.”

“Why? Don’t you love me anymore?” Jihyo asked, eyes widening in desperation.

Mina inhaled sharply; her pain visible to the world. She couldn’t bear looking at her anymore. She loves her deeply, and as far as she's concerned, it will never diminish over time. However, the agony was greater than the love. Rather than increasing trust, there were more doubts. There was more distress than comfort.

“It can’t work like that, Jihyo. You think I love you enough to make our relationship work as before?" Mina's words were filled with an emotional weight that she could not contain, and her cries shook through the air. “If so, you’re wrong. I need more than that. I need trust and faith. And right now, I have none of it left between us.”

“Mina…”

Mina's gaze softened as she added, “I'm sorry, but I can't take this anymore. Please, let me go, Jihyo.”

Mina's heart broke at the sight of Jihyo's tormented face as she watched. She could feel the tears running down her cheeks as they filled her eyes. It was shattering her too. She still loves Jihyo, despite the misery she has caused her. However, what happened between them tore a piece of her that will never heal if they continue to be together.

…

“Isn’t this better than espresso lattes?” Mina asked as the waiter poured her glass of wine as she stared at the woman in front of her, Nayeon.

Nayeon beamed lightly, sipping from her own glass of wine.

The small table sat in the middle of the room, surrounded by three plates and a bottle of wine. In an intimate setting, each dish was meticulously prepared with an intricate array of ingredients. The aroma that filled the air was enough to make anyone's mouth water. Each plate had been carefully crafted in order to bring out maximum flavor and satisfaction. Nayeon was always impressed by the look of expensive food.

“How are you?” Nayeon asked softly, taking Mina's hand in hers and giving it a gentle squeeze. She wanted to hold it forever.

Mina smiled, feeling the warmth of Nayeon’s touch reach her soul. “I’m great. I just finished shooting a movie, and after months of hard work, I’m finally done. I’ll be taking a long rest after the release.”

Nayeon nodded. “I'm glad you're taking care of yourself.”

“I know you probably heard it everywhere.” Mina laughed.

Nayeon nodded, guilty as charged. She must consider herself a fan for how many times she views her account every day.

“How about you? I haven’t heard anything about you ever since our trip," Mina asked, looking at the wine with eyes of nostalgia.

Nayeon smiled and shrugged her shoulders as if there was nothing to worry about. “I'm doing good. I mean, nothing changed. Still the same; it’s just that life is much lighter now.”

Mina grinned genuinely at her. “I’m proud of you.”

“Well, you should be. I finally talked to her after a long time.”

Mina's eyes widened with surprise. “Really? How did it go?”

Nayeon sighed and leaned back against her seat, thinking of the recent interaction she had with Chaeyoung. “It went well, I guess. We talked about how it ended, how we both moved on, and how our lives are now. It was nice.”

Mina smiled contentedly. “That's good. I'm glad you finally had the talk you always wanted. I hope it didn’t affect your process after that.”

Nayeon shook her head and smiled. “No, it wasn't a surprise to me. In fact, it was almost like a comforting validation in some sense. She had made it clear that she had completely given up on me and on us.”

Mina's face softened with understanding. “I’m glad you are able to move on and find a way to be comfortable with it. That was the best thing for you.”

Nayeon smiled in agreement, feeling almost at ease now that she had laid everything out between her and Chaeyoung. It was nostalgic to be in that seat. It felt like it happened before, but in that moment, Nayeon was talking about how she finally let go of Chaeyoung instead of crying about how it didn’t go well between them.

Nayeon sipped on her wine, and she said, “I heard you recently broke up with Jihyo.”

Mina nodded, her gaze reflecting alleviation. “Yeah. You don’t know how long I waited for that.” She ended with a chuckle.

Nayeon raised her eyebrows. “What do you mean?”

“We broke up months ago,” Mina revealed with a loud sigh. “We just had to hide it for a while because Jihyo was about to release her drama.”

“Oh wow," Nayeon replied, surprised. "That must have been hard to keep something like that from the public."

Mina nodded her head in agreement. ”It was. But it also gave us both time to process things and accept the fact that we weren't meant for each other anymore. I mean, at least for Jihyo. Because for me, right the moment I caught her, it was over for us.”

Nayeon nodded with understanding as Mina spoke, her own experiences with Chaeyoung giving her insight into the pain and difficulty of going through a breakup. She knew that relationships weren't always easy, and even when you felt connected to someone, it could eventually come to an end. Most of the time, it was because of something that had happened between them—an argument or disagreement—or maybe they had simply grown apart, and the worst could be unfaithfulness.

For Mina, it was like a wave of relief had swept over her. It felt like somebody had just pulled a knife from her chest, and now she could finally breathe. It hurt, but at the same time, it felt so much better. Somehow, the hurt that lingered felt comforting and comforting in its own way—it was the feeling of being able to move on and accept whatever life threw at her.

And finally, Mina was ready to take a new step in her life.

“I missed you so much,” Mina whispered, her eyes softening upon meeting Nayeon's.

“I missed you too, Mina," Nayeon replied. “You don’t know how many times I tried to find you.”

Mina smiled sadly. “You could’ve sent me a message through Instagram.”

Nayeon chortled, shaking her head. “That would be unfitting, and for someone who has millions of fans all over the world, I don’t think you’ll find my name in your inbox.”

Mina smiled; her eyes sparkled with the realization, “The important thing is that you’re here and I’m here.”

Nayeon smiled at the realization of reality. After all this time, Mina was right in front of her. “Why did you come? Why are you here?”

“I want to continue our story,” Mina said truthfully. “I want to continue what we had.”

Nayeon was in the clouds. Her heart was racing, and her stomach was filled with a flurry of anxious bubbles. She felt uncertain about how to react—was this feeling happiness or fear, or perhaps a combination of both? But the joyful sensations that coursed through her far outweighed the other emotions she felt in that moment.

Nayeon wants to be with Mina. She had waited for this for a long time. But she needed to be certain that Mina was ready and definite about her decision.

“Are you really sure?” Nayeon asked, her voice barely a whisper.

“Mina, are you sure?” Jeongyeon asked, sitting across from her inside her office.

Mina sighed deeply with a laugh. “I know you’re secretly the president of our fanclub, but Jihyo and I are officially over.”

Mina informed Jeongyeon that she had finally decided to end her relationship with Jihyo. After informing Jihyo a thousand times, she left the place where they live. She thinks Jihyo was finally letting her go because she hasn't seen her in the past two weeks.

“I just want you to be sure that since we can’t just publicly release this, after a few months you’ll be together again," Jeongyeon explained, her eyes carefully assessing Mina’s expression.

“Yup. There’s nothing more to say.” Mina nodded instantly. She has already made her firm decision ever since she got back from Europe.

“Are you mad at her?” Jeongyeon asked cautiously.

Mina sighed, meeting Jeongyeon’s gaze. “A part of me Yes. But the other part of me just...feels relieved that it’s over," she answered honestly.

“Don’t you want to start over again? You know, try again," Jeongyeon inquired.

Mina shook her head. “No. I don’t think it would be the same anymore, and I want to focus on other things now," she said, smiling gently, hoping that Jeongyeon could understand her decision.

“Okay,” Jeongyeon said, holding up a hand in surrender and chuckling. “Is it because of Nayeon?”

Mina stopped in her tracks, a vivid image of Nayeon running through her mind. She couldn't believe it had been so long since she thought of her. Her life for the past few weeks has been consumed with work projects and figuring out how to end her relationship with Jihyo. She was so caught up that it almost felt like she'd forgotten about Nayeon; the memories came flooding back.

“It’s her, isn’t it?” Jeongyeon interrupted her thoughts.

Mina glanced at her. She realized that it wasn’t because of Nayeon. She wanted to end it because she knew it would eventually be too much of a burden. “No, it’s not her. It’s about myself. I know that the damage is done, and we can never go back to what it used to be," she murmured, her voice barely audible.

Jeongyeon furrowed her eyebrows and sighed. “Look, I know Jihyo probably did some things that were wrong, but don’t forget all about the great things with her.”

“I’m thankful for all the wonderful moments I shared with her, but at this point, it’s better to end this with her before we cause more pain to each other," Mina replied truthfully.

Jeongyeon nodded. “Yeah, I understand. I mean, she cheated on you.”

“Yeah,” Mina mumbled.

“I know, it’s hard to accept that someone you love so much could do something like that, but hey, better to end it now than later.”

“It’s strange to think that even after only knowing Nayeon for a few short weeks, I trust her more than Jihyo now," Mina said with a low laugh.

After dinner, Nayeon and Mina decided to take a stroll towards the Eiffel Tower since it wasn't too far away. Throughout the evening, they talked about all their recent experiences, laughing at some of their absurd memories from their travels. As they walked through the city, Nayeon looked up and marveled at the night sky, filled with countless stars. The gentle breeze blew across her face, giving her an overwhelming feeling of peace that pushed away all of her anxious worries. While Mina was feeling on top of the world, she felt happier than she had ever been.

“Do you remember the time when we had dinner at Le Fouquet’s Paris?” Mina asked as she walked with Nayeon down the fancy street downtown.

Nayeon smiled, pushing her hands inside her pockets. “Yeah. It was so beautiful. The food was really good too, and apparently, you got drunk.”

Mina giggled, bumping her shoulders with Nayeon. “The wine was so good.”

“Your eyes were half closed, and your cheeks were really red," Nayeon replied, giggling with Mina.

“Remember when you raised your voice at me?” Mina reminisced with a bright grin.

Nayeon felt a pinch in her chest. She still felt guilty about it. “I didn’t mean that. I was just frustrated.”

Mina shook her head, draping her hand on Nayeon’s arm. “I know.”

Nayeon pulled the solid material from her pocket and flipped it until it created a fire. Nayeon said with a smile, “I still have your lighter.”

Mina smiled, looking at the flame. “You still smoke?”

Nayeon chuckled lightly, hiding her lighter back in her pocket. She cleared her throat and blew a huge amount of air. “I had too. My head was killing me earlier.”

“You still have smelly fingers, then?” Mina asked playfully, pulling their bodies close.

Nayeon felt the familiar warmth in her stomach; it sent a cozy feeling through her veins. She giggled and sniffed her clothes. “Can’t you smell my coat?”

Mina brushed her nose on Nayeon’s shoulder and breathed in deeply. "Smell, just as I can remember. It smells like you.”

Nayeon felt her heart warm up. She wasn't able to respond as they quickly made their way across the street, the Eiffel Tower looming in the distance. As they reached the grand structure, she was presented with an overwhelming sense of awe; it was such a majestic sight. Even though she saw it, it still felt as if she were watching a movie.

Mina grabbed her hand and pulled her closer to the monument. She could feel the warmth emanating from her touch, and it made her heart flutter with happiness. It was happening. Her being with Mina.

“So, what should we do first?” Nayeon asked jokingly, breaking the tranquil atmosphere that had settled between them.

Mina grinned as she looked up from the tall iron structure. “I still couldn’t believe how they made this. What a piece of art.”

Nayeon looked at the spectacular architecture, then back at Mina. A gust of wind blew past them, and it felt as if they were suspended in time for that moment. She leaned into Mina, feeling an overwhelming sense of peace wash over her. Mina wrapped her arms around Nayeon’s shoulder as Nayeon pulled her by her waist.

“I missed this,” Nayeon whispered softly.

Mina looked into Nayeon's eyes. “Me too,” she said as their lips met for a tender kiss. In that moment, the monument in front of them felt like a symbol of the love they had for each other that lingered after a long time.

Paris, France, is surely the city of love.

“Nayeon,” Mina whispered above her lips. “I love you. It didn’t go away after all this time.”

Nayeon smiled, an overwhelming wave of emotion washing over her at those words. She gazed lovingly into Mina's eyes and kissed her. She couldn't contain her emotions anymore, and so she let her lips say what her heart was feeling.

“I love you too, Mina.” Nayeon finally said it with tears glimmering in her eyes in joy.

Nayeon wasn’t scared. Nayeon wasn’t doubting. Nayeon wasn’t questioning it anymore. She was sure now of the love she felt for Mina, no matter how many months had passed. She knew she felt that way before; she was just afraid to admit it. But now, with Mina in her arms and the monument behind them, she felt nothing but joy.

“Thank you for waiting for me,” Nayeon husked out.

Mina shook her head. “It all turned out as it should have, Nayeon. At least now, we can rest easy knowing that our intentions are pure, and our hearts are clear," she said softly, kissing her forehead lovingly. “I didn’t wait for you. We waited for each other to heal.”

Nayeon smiled, her heart feeling lighter than before. “You’re right," she said, placing her hand on Mina’s cheek. “We did it, didn't we? We waited for us until we were both ready.”

Mina hugged Nayeon tightly and whispered, “I'm never letting you go again, dumbass," into her ear with a small chuckle.

They stayed there for what seemed like hours, just holding each other, until finally they both slowly pulled away, still looking around them and laughing as they thought of people cringing over them.

Finally, when they both had their fill of peace and serenity, they started to walk back home. Nayeon took Mina's hand and intertwined their fingers as they walked, wordlessly promising an eternity of love with each step they took. Though the path they both trod on was filled with challenges and hardships, Nayeon knew deep in her heart that nothing would ever stand between them again at that moment.

“Same hotel?” Nayeon looked up at the familiar, fancy, luxurious hotel.

Mina nodded, pulling Nayeon inside the building. “Have some wine with me. We have a lot of things to talk about.”

Nayeon giggled as she got dragged inside the elevator, the faint light of warmth filling her heart once more. She had finally found her way back home. With Mina.

They reached the hotel room, and Nayeon stepped inside, immediately feeling all the anxiety washed over. She looked around in awe at the tasteful decorations and luxurious furniture that filled the space. Nayeon knew Mina could afford them, but the view from her hotel room was amazing. Nayeon looked over the glass wall and stared at the lights beneath them.

“I love city lights. It’s so beautiful," Nayeon said in awe.

Mina chuckled warmly and walked closer to her, bringing her a glass of wine. Nayeon gladly took it and tilted it towards Mina.

“Thank you for being here," Nayeon whispered.

Mina smiled and gently touched her cheek. “I wouldn’t be anywhere else.”

They drank their wine slowly, savoring each taste and moment together as if time had suddenly stopped for them both. The city lights and stars twinkled in the background, a light to their new start and a guide towards their future.

“My friend still can’t believe I’m meeting you here,” Nayeon said, breaking the comfortable silence.

Mina smiled and let out a soft laugh. “Tell them I say ‘hi’.”

“She’ll probably freak out,” Nayeon laughed, sitting at the coach.

Mina followed and chuckled. “I’m just a normal human, you know.”

Nayeon breathily laughed. “I know, but it’s just surreal being with you.” Nayeon wanted an iced bucket to pour on her back, just to know if everything in front of her was real.

Mina gave her an understanding look and slowly cupped Nayeon’s face. “It feels real to me.”

Nayeon felt something inside her burst open. She covered Mina’s hand with hers and leaned in. She captured Mina’s lips, firm but gentle, to make her feel all the overwhelming emotions inside her heart.

Mina's heart leaped at the touch. She drew Nayeon closer, kissing her more deeply. In that instant, all she could think about was each other, while everything else around them vanished. Her sense of aliveness is unmatched when she's with her. She was there, and Mina knew it. Nayeon was with her. Her spine was tingling from the soft contact of their lips and the sensation of their skin meeting. She was completely enthralled.

Their kiss lingered, and both their hearts were beating faster. Bodies want to be closer, and souls want to be together.

Nayeon breathed deeply as she felt Mina voluntarily surrender to her. Mina’s body was soft and warm. She didn’t know if it was the wine or the heat of their kiss. She wanted to stop, but something inside her was pushing her to continue—like a loss of control over her yearning and desire.

“I love you,” Mina whispered above their sloppy kiss. “Don’t think. Just go.”

Nayeon sighed and continued to kiss her, responding with a quiet, “I love you too.”

Mina smiled through the kiss and pressed her body closer to Nayeon’s. “I’m still not used to your love,” she murmured in between kisses.

Nayeon felt the emotion running through her veins and smiled tenderly at her. She kissed Mina more slowly and softly, letting out a content sigh as her hand found its way inside her blouse. She felt Mina shudder at the contact, and Nayeon whispered, “Let me just show you.”

Mina smiled and nodded, letting Nayeon take control as she melted through her touch. Nayeon let her fingertips explore every inch of Mina’s body, never once forgetting to show her the right amount of care and love with each brush.

As Mina’s breath grew louder, Nayeon knew she had found her way into Mina’s desires. She smiled as she kissed along Mina’s neck and whispered, “Is this what you mean when you say don’t think?”

Mina gave a sly smile, her thumb tenderly brushing against the softness of Nayeon's lips. A smirk tugging on the corner of her mouth, she purred in a low voice, “You certainly know how to tease me.”

Their feet were stumbling to get to the bed, their clothes disappearing with each step, and their kiss deepened as they lay down. Nayeon could feel her heart racing and her head spinning as Mina's touch ignited a fire of need within her that couldn't be contained. Their movements became more desperate as their fingertips brushed against their bare skin.

Nayeon felt Mina’s breath quickening as she trailed kisses along her neck and shoulders. Mina was slowly losing control, and Nayeon could feel her own desires taking over. Without a second thought, Mina quickly shed her clothing and exposed her bare skin to Nayeon.

Nayeon covered Mina’s body with hers and leaned in closer to whisper softly in her ear, “Let me make your desires come true.”

Mina let out a shuddering sigh of pleasure as she felt Nayeon’s knee sliding between her legs and Nayeon’s lips lightly kissing the sensitive area below her ear. Nayeon moved to kiss Mina's chest, and she felt a ripple of pleasure coursing through her body.

Nayeon swirled her tongue across her chest as Mina's body quivered beneath her. Nayeon’s hands explored and caressed every inch of her, and Mina's soft moans filled the air as they moved in unison. Nayeon moved lower and lower as Mina's breathing grew heavier. Nayeon let out a quiet gasp of pleasure as she felt Mina trembling over her touch. She kissed every inch of Mina’s skin with a gentle and passionate fervor. Nayeon reached her goal and didn’t hesitate to taste it. Mina’s back arched and her body trembled as Nayeon licked, kissed, and nibbled on her most intimate area. The pressure built up inside Mina, and her legs quivered as Nayeon slipped her finger inside her, exploring and teasing every sensitive spot. Mina could no longer contain the pleasure that was coursing through her body as she gasped out Nayeon's name in reach of a heavenly climax.

Nayeon smiled in satisfaction as Mina lay there, her lips tucked between her teeth and her body still trembling in pleasure with her eyes closed. She gently kissed her way up to Mina's lips and held the embrace, knowing that their night was just beginning. She ran her hands through Mina’s hair and kissed her deeply as she whispered softly in her ear, “We’re just getting started."

“Damn, right.” Mina breathed out a lengthy sigh of pleasure, satisfied that she was correct. She opened her eyes and locked them with Nayeon's as the other woman moved to push her onto her back. “Show me what else you can do.”

Nayeon simply smiled in response and scoffed. “That would be a pleasure.” She tried to stifle a chuckle, and then she started to peck each corner of Mina’s mouth on top of her.

"Stop!" Mina giggled between Nayeon’s smooches. “Let me.”

Nayeon giggled as she drummed her fingers on Mina’s hips. Mina was straddling her thigh with a playful smile. She seemed to be almost giddy as she looked down on Nayeon. Mina took ahold of Nayeon’s chin and winked before beginning her tantalizing tease, slowly kissing along each side of her neck as if savoring the taste of her skin. She moved further up to press a gentle kiss against the corner of Nayeon’s mouth, then pulled back to whisper something lustful in her ear. She returned to kiss her with flaming intensity, exploring their mouths further. Her hands roamed across Nayeon’s body, and as they intertwined more passionate kisses, Nayeon let out soft moans of pleasure, which only seemed to encourage Mina to go further.

Nayeon felt her heart racing, and it seemed to be contagious because Mina was now matching her in time as their bodies rocked together in the sheets. Their movements were suddenly both urgent and slow at the same time. Nayeon’s fingers clawed at Mina’s back as she felt her orgasm beginning to build.

Mina caught the signs and shifted them into a more comfortable position, allowing Nayeon’s body to relax as she began to run circles on her belly. Her fingers went lower and lower until Nayeon felt the touch in her center. With each passing second, Nayeon felt herself getting closer and closer to the edge of pleasure as Mina worked her magic.

Finally, Nayeon moaned as she met her climax with Mina’s name on her lips. As she began to drift off into blissful relaxation, Mina pulled Nayeon in for a kiss and wrapped her arms around Nayeon tightly.

“That was amazing,” Mina breathed.

Nayeon smiled and nestled her head into the crook of Mina’s neck. “You’re amazing.”

Mina laughed softly and kissed her forehead before closing her eyes in contentment as she held Nayeon close to her chest. “Want to have sex in every city in Europe?”

Nayeon’s eyes snapped open, and laughter broke onto her lips. “You’re crazy.”

“Is that a bad idea?” Mina giggled, stroking her fingers on Nayeon’s back.

Nayeon started pressing light open-mouth kisses on Mina’s neck and slowly made her way up to her lips. “I think it’s not a bad idea at all,” Nayeon murmured in between her kisses.

Mina smiled against Nayeon's lips and let out a sigh of contentment as she tangled their fingers together, whispering 'I love you’s’ with each kiss.

There was a loud ringing in the room. Mina groaned deeply as she covered her head with the pillow, wanting to ignore it. Nayeon whined as she shifted her body off of Mina’s and grabbed her phone from the nightstand, swiping at the screen to reveal two missed calls from Momo, her best friend.

"Shut it off and come back to bed,” Mina muttered into the pillow.

Nayeon shook her head and unlocked her phone before pressing a button. "Sorry, Momo, I can’t talk right now.”

“Are you okay? You didn’t send me an update.” Momo sounded curious and a little worried.

Nayeon laughed as she looked at Mina with unconditional love in her eyes. “Yeah, I’m okay.”

“Nayeon, come back here.” Mina groaned as she lifted her head to look at Nayeon.

Nayeon laughed.

“Who’s that? Is that Mina?” Momo excitedly asked.

“Yeah. She’s here," Nayeon replied.

Momo squealed with delight. “Tell her I said 'hello'," she said before saying goodbye. Nayeon hung up in the middle of Momo’s babble. Nayeon put the phone back on the nightstand before crawling back into bed with Mina, placing a sweet kiss on her lips before settling into her embrace.

“Who was that?” Mina asked.

“That was my best friend, Momo. She wanted to say hello and check up on me,” Nayeon replied as she snuggled closer to Mina's warmth.

“Tell her I said hi back next time you talk to her," Mina mumbled as she put her head on Nayeon’s shoulder.

Nayeon played with Mina’s hair as she responded, “Okay.”

Mina hummed, caressing the blemishes on Nayeon’s chest. “What’s our plan?”

Nayeon shrugged lightly. “I don’t know. I just want to be with you.”

Mina turned her head to kiss Nayeon's cheek before whispering, “Me too. What time is it?”

Nayeon checked on her phone and said, “Almost two.”

Mina’s eyes widened as she flinched on the bed. “Already?” Mina sat up and wiped her eyes with the back of her hand.

Nayeon sat up too and said, “What’s up?”

“I booked us a cruise around three, and we have to get going," Mina said with a smile before standing up and stretching.

Nayeon's eyes widened in surprise as she jumped out of bed. “A cruise? You’re really that confident that you’ll see me, huh?” Nayeon teased, wrapping her arms around Mina’s waist.

Mina grinned sheepishly and said, “Well, that’s because I’ll push you off the ship and let you drown in the river.”

Nayeon giggled and pecked her lips. “The famous Myoi Mina is trying to kill me."

"Maybe next week, I'll book us a meeting with a pastor and get married," Mina said, walking towards the bathroom.

Nayeon laughed loudly. "I can't believe I'm being held hostage here."

Mina poked her head on the bathroom door, "Well, you can always try to escape.”

Nayeon scoffed, "Yeah right, like I can escape your love." She walked past Mina and playfully ruffled her hair.

Mina laughed and pulled Nayeon closer to her. “You better try harder if you want to get away from me!” she joked before releasing her grip on Nayeon’s shirt.

Nayeon smiled and shook her head. "I'm not going anywhere, so you better get used to having a loser girlfriend.”

Mina’s eyes softened. “Hey, you’re not a loser.”

“Don’t you think you’re downgrading for having someone like me? I mean, you already had a millionaire actress girlfriend—”

Mina chuckled and mumbled, “You mean, a cheater?”

Nayeon's cheeks flushed. “Yeah, that…”

Mina cupped her face and softly caressed her cheek with her thumb. “Don’t compare yourself to Jihyo, okay? You’re enough. And I don’t care if you snore in your sleep, your foot smell, or, chew loudly, or drool during movies—”

Nayeon blushed as she rolled her eyes. “Yeah, yeah, I get it, but I don’t snore, baby.”

Mina giggled, caressing Nayeon’s cheek with her thumb. “What I’m saying is I don’t care if you have any flaws, I will love them, because I love you no matter what.”

Nayeon's eyes lit up as she felt her heart swell with joy. Her head leaned into Mina’s touch, and she winked at her lovingly. “I love you too, Mina."

Nayeon pecked Mina’s lips lightly. “Just so you know, you’re the one who’s snoring.”

“So, we’re back to this conversation again, aren’t we?”
