Work Text:
A knock at the door had started it. Atsushi had been winding down for the night, he’d changed out of his work attire hours ago and into a comfortable white t-shirt and sweatpants. In an attempt to ease his boredom, he was watching one of the random reality shows Yosano had introduced Kyouka to. The voices buzzed over in his head until a screaming match would reign him back into focus. It was safe to say, he was incredibly bored.
It’d taken him at least a minute to find the mental power to get off of the couch and slide sock-covered feet to the front door, but he managed. He expected to see Kunikida telling him he should go to sleep or a drunk Dazai intent on being a nuisance. Mundanity had become a welcome change within the agency ever since the vampire world-ending situation half a year ago had been wrapped up. A lot of people had joined the Agency and crime was steady but not life-threatening like it had been, so reality TV and the occasional loose ability user were the worst of his problems.
Oh and Akutagawa. Akutagawa had become an interesting mix of grumpy anger and soft resignation ever since he passed his entrance exam. Kunikida ended up being the one who trained him and it was definitely for the best as Dazai and him were still on less than positive speaking terms. Akutagawa was reliable and respected Kunikida’s rules, and he also had a knack for throwing random supplies at Dazai when he fell asleep on the job. He said he was going to help Kunikida (who always denied that claim adamantly but never tried to stop the ex-mafioso) but the poorly concealed smile that would creep onto his face whenever he successfully woke a sleeping Dazai up told another story.
As if it was some strange symptom from dying and then coming back to life, Akutagawa’s old bony structure and ghost-pale face had lessened just a bit. It was obvious he was still working on it, but it filled Atsushi with a contentedness that gave him a strange tingly feeling in his stomach. It was like Akutagawa had redefined his reason to live, he had been reborn,
He could use some exciting change, So honestly when he opened the door to find the one and only Akutagawa standing on the other side looking as uncomfortable as ever, he smiled. He couldn’t pinpoint when he’d grown so fond of him but it was becoming more and more debilitating every day. Not that he’d ever tell a soul anything remotely reminiscent of those thoughts.
“What are you doing here?” he asked, trying to come off as normal as possible.
“I live here now, Jinko,” Akutagawa said, in a way that suggested he found Atsushi’s question ridiculous.
Atsushi had to fight the instinct to roll his eyes at Akutagawa, “Well, yes, I know that. But what are you doing at my door so late in the night?” he said leaning on the frame of the door and crossing his arms over his chest. In theory, this was supposed to make him look cool, and totally unbothered by the man across from him.
Naturally, Akutagawa either hadn’t noticed his attempt or didn’t care, “Do you recall, 2 weeks ago, February 13th, you said ‘if I ever need any help with anything, I could come to you.’” He said, scrutinizing Atsushi as if he was expecting the weretiger to tell him no and slam the door in his face.
“I—“ he paused, to put on the show of thinking for Akutagawa, who had told him many times before that he didn't like liars, “do recall. Is there something you need help with?” he pushed himself back up from his leaning position, it was a crude attempt to look more ‘ready to help’ or at the very least attentive to wherever this conversation was going.
“My hero,” Akutagawa muttered, crossing his own arms over his chest. Atsushi wanted to argue that Akutagawa was asking him for help so it probably wasn’t appropriate to be making sarcastic remarks about someone’s niceness, but the words never made it past his lips.
Akutagawa paused for a moment, looked away, and Atsushi could've sworn he saw the other's cheeks turn a dusty shade of pink before he spoke, “I need you to come sit in my apartment while I bathe.” Just before finishing the sentence, Akutagawa’s shoulders had straightened out and his eyes were back on Atsushi with newfound confidence, and his signature ice-cold gaze.
His own cheeks warmed, this was turning out to be a strange night, “Oh, yeah! I can do that.” Maybe it would be smart to think a little before he jumps into whatever strange requests Akutagawa has for him, he thought,”I -uhm, but why?” Sure, Akutagawa and Atsushi weren’t out to kill each other anymore and it’d been a couple of months since Akutagawa showed up at the front door of the Agency asking for a chance to join, but he wouldn’t say Akutagawa had ever been so noticeably vulnerable in front of him, or anyone for that matter. Definitely Gin, maybe Chuuya… He shook his head. Not important right now.
“Will you do it?” Akutagawa asked, before his eyes widened as if noticing an error in his words, his strict posture softened slightly and his eyes dropped from their cold glare. “I’m not forcing you.” Not an answer to Atsushi’s question but he had a feeling Akutagawa would spill later. Contrary to popular belief, Akutagawa liked to talk.
And Atsushi really had no reason to say no. If Akutagawa was asking him to do something so simple yet personal it must be that he really needed it, right? On a normal day, Akutagawa wouldn’t even let someone open a door for him. He was all cool stoicism and hard work ethic, the reason why Kunikida and Akutagawa had grown so close at the Agency.
It then occurred to Atsushi suddenly that he hadn’t even been in the other’s apartment in the whole 6 months Akutagawa had passed his entrance exam. “Yeah I can do that,” he said, nodding his head vigorously. There were no obvious warnings blaring in his mind and for that reason he trusted fate. Besides Byyako’s intuition was almost always correct, and all he felt was a dormant pur inside of him.
Akutagawa straightened out again and turned on his heels to guide the two of them to his own apartment.
Atsushi followed him along the connected porch area of the apartments until they landed at a matching door to his own. Neither of them said a word as Akutagawa took off his coat and held it to his chest like a kid does with their most precious blanket. Suddenly Akutagawa cleared his throat,“I-I have trouble with bathing in an empty apartment,” He paused to analyze Atsushi’s reaction, which he had successfully kept absolutely neutral although on the inside he was reeling at his foresight that Akutagawa was telling him and it didn’t even take ten minutes, “You may know that you have to strip to take a bath, and my ability becomes useless if I’m not wearing anything. Fukuzawa said I must have an irrational fear that intruders will come in. And do something bad.” He said irrationally with air quotes like he was still trying to believe it himself.
Atsushi watched Akutagawa do a great job of looking everywhere but back at him. They were walking into the apartment now, “I’m used to Gin being in the apartment when I bathe, so it has been hard for me to be comfortable doing it here unless I call her over. Unfortunately, she is out on a mission, and I am aching to get clean. So that is why I have called for your assistance.” Akutagawa whipped a tendril of Rashomon out of his shirt and let the sharp blade of matter sit threateningly close to Atsushi’s throat. “If you so much as suggest this ever happened to any one of your little agency friends I will have your head, do you understand that, Weretiger?”
Atsushi smiled, long gone were the days of genuine fear that Akutagawa had any intention to hurt him, “Don’t you mean our agency friends?” Akutagawa studied him for a moment, before relaxing his shoulders and calling Rashomon back into his shirt.
”You can do as you wish, just don’t break anything and — and stop smiling like that.” he said, making his way to the bathroom, clearly signaling that he did not care to hear Atsushi’s response, nor respond to Atsushi’s own claim.
When he heard water running he finally let his shoulders drop more comfortably. This was really crazy. It all felt like some strange fever dream. Maybe this was some weird prank Dazai had somehow manipulated Akutagawa into following. Though with the way Akutagawa acted at the mere inclination that Atsushi was even thinking about Dazai around him suggested that no, that was not the case.
He had sat himself down on the couch but it didn’t take longer than 15 minutes for him to grow bored of sitting on Akutagawa’s couch, twiddling his thumbs like a nervous child. He considered making tea but he didn’t know if Akutagawa would appreciate him using some of the nice stuff he always buys. He also considered why he cared, Akutagawa was perpetually mad at him. But then again, he had been invited into Akutagawa’s apartment, so there was canonical proof Akutagawa trusted him. Akutagawa was naked in the other room, even!
He decided to spend his time organizing little things around Akutagawa’s apartment, like the little cat trinkets he seemed to have a strangely large collection of and the stack of classic literature that had accumulated on the coffee table in between the couch and TV. That activity soon grew old because Akutagawa was irritatingly organized and clean.
So finally he let himself settle on the couch and scroll through movie options. The bath wasn’t going to take that long though, maybe he could ask Akutagawa if he wanted to watch something? The idea of Akutagawa letting him exist in his apartment for any longer than what he needed him there for was weakly realistic at best. Akutagawa was full of surprises though and Atsushi could be convincing.
“Jinko.” He heard Akutagawa hiss from the bathroom. It took him less than 5 seconds to be standing in front of the door where what could only be described as a wet cranky cat was waiting for him. Akutagawa’s hair was soaked with micro bangs plastered to his forehead and a stray strand of longer hair caught on his lip. Atsushi realized he had been inadvertently looking at Akutagawa’s lips so he snapped his eyes anywhere else. And from the sight of bare shoulders that he could see through the crack of the door Akutagawa had opened to talk to him, he was completely naked on the other side of the door. Atsushi was strong enough to not blush, he deserved a pat on the back.
However, Atsushi was not strong enough to stop his hand from reaching out to brush a strand of black and white hair out of Akutagawa’s face and behind his ear. Akutagawa had snapped the mouth that was about to say something closed at the action, and Atsushi’s hand had frozen at the place behind Akutagawa’s ear. Atsushi’s eyes bore into Akutagawa’s own wide and wavering ones.
“What are you doing?” Akutagawa breathed out, with feigned anger but he made no move to actually get Atsushi away from him. Atsushi pulled away. He was acting like a fool. Even ability-less Akutagawa could put up a good fight if he was angry enough.
“Nothing, I’m doing nothing! Just here at your beck and call! Haha!” He rambled. He attempted to look nonchalant by leaning on the wall next to the door but when he realized he could see more of Akutagawa’s bare, wet torso from that angle he squeaked, snapping his head away, and went back to his original position. He must have looked like a total idiot. But if he saw a twitch of a smile on Akutagawa’s face, neither of them said a word about it.
“I’ve forgotten a towel and a change of clothes, so I request that you grab me those necessities from my room.” Akutagawa gripped the edge of the door harder as he said it.
Atsushi didn’t even think to respond, he was just thankful to get a moment to regain his self-composure. But waves of the weird tingly feeling he’d been having all night rushed over him when he realized he was in Akutagawa’s room now. It looked almost identical to his, so it was easy for him to find the closet where his clothes and a fresh towel were, but it wasn’t as easy to take his eyes off how cozy the whole place was. He had blackout curtains that would have cast the whole room in darkness if it weren't for the vintage lamp on his bedside table. The glow was warm and soft and Akutagawa’s bed was made with more blankets than one man needed and at least four pillows. The whole thing was so enticing, that Atsushi really wanted to lay on it.
He was back to Akutagawa in a flash, Akutagawa stuck his bare arm out to collect the towel black sweater, and sweatpants Atsushi had found for him. He heard a grunt, which probably was meant to be his version of ‘thanks’ and then the door was promptly shut in front of him.
It took Akutagawa about 5 minutes to dry off and change, and in that time Atsushi had stayed perfectly still standing in the exact position he had been left in. He wondered how closely he resembled a helpless puppy waiting for their owner to get home. God. He needed to get his shit together or he was going to say something really embarrassing in front of Akutagawa sooner or later, he blushed.
“You’re still here.” Akutagawa said, but it didn’t come out in a way that meant “You’re supposed to be gone.” More like a subtle shock at the fact that Atsushi hadn’t bolted at his first sight of freedom.
Atsushi didn’t want to leave but he had no good excuse to stay. His understood use for the night had worn out, so the only thing he could do was, “Do you want to watch a movie?” Atsushi asked.
It was his only hope so he kind of expected Akutagawa to tell him to leave at best or murder him at worst. But trying to predict Akutagawa was harder than anyone would give the other credit for, in this second life of his he had grown an insistent urge to defy whatever anyone thought of him. It was endearing but also a source of Atsushi’s mental boner he had seemed to have for Akutagawa. “Sure, why not.”
Atsushi perked up at Akutagawa’s response. “Oh! Okay yeah, are there any movies you want to watch? I can’t do melodrama or horror, I’ll be honest. But if that’s what you want to watch—“
“What about romance?” Akutagawa mumbled, walking towards his room.
“Where are you going?” Atsushi asked, still frozen by the bathroom.
Akutagawa turned his head to look at him, hands stuffed in the pockets of the black sweatpants, “Make a wild guess.” He said flatly.
“But if we’re going to watch a movie, wouldn’t we need the TV?”
Akutagawa seemed to freeze for a second, “I- I don’t know how that TV works, we can watch it on my computer.”
Atsushi was about to insist that he could work the TV, and frankly, it was ridiculous that Akutagawa had not mastered the skill of clicking a power button on a remote. But then he realized what was being asked of him. Akutagawa was inviting him to lay on his bed, with him, and not only that but close enough that they could both see the screen. Which from Atsushi’s knowledge was a sure-fire way to end up cuddling with someone.
Akutagawa was shuffling from one foot to the other when Atsushi snapped back to consciousness, “Right. That makes sense.” he said, following Akutagawa to his room. Akutagawa nodded along, as if he was trying to make sense of his excuse too.
With absolutely no hesitance Akutagawa crawled onto his bed. He sat on top of the stacked blankets on the far end of the bed. Atsushi kind of felt helpless, but Akutagawa was busy unlocking the computer he’d received from the agency. His eyes flashed for half a second over to Atsushi and it wasn’t even a second longer until his hand had patted the place next to him.
“If you expect to watch the movie from over there. You’re going to be sorely disappointed by the visuals, I presume.” Akutagawa said with his eyes trained on the screen in front of him.
Akutagawa was full of sound logic today. “Good point.” He said, accepting the invitation to join the other on the bed, and crawling to the place that Akutagawa’s hand had been the moment before.
Atsushi could see that Akutagawa was browsing Netflix when he got comfortable. Their shoulders were lightly touching and just to make things that much more mind rotting he leaned in to Akutagawa to get a better look at their options, or at least that was his excuse.
Akutagawa’s mouse hovered over a movie titled 365 Days, “What is this?” he asked, looking at Atsushi, far too innocent for an expert in murder and crime. The cover was on the verge of being explicit and he could feel sweat forming on his temple. He wasn’t sure what to tell Akutagawa other than it was a mafia sex movie. Then he saw the poorly hidden smile appearing on Akutagawa’s face. Akutagawa was playing him.
“Oh, you’re funny,” Atsushi said, trying to match Akutagawa’s typical flat tone. Then the most bizarre thing happened, Akutagawa giggled.
His head tilted onto Atsushi’s shoulder in the midst of the pretty laughter spilling from his lips. Tears formed at his water ducts which he wiped away with pale hands. “Don’t worry I don’t want to watch that, Jinko.” Akutagawa bit his lip through a smile. “You should pick.”
The whole thing was a sight for sore eyes.
Atsushi felt the wetness of Akutagawa’s hair seep into his shoulder but he couldn’t care less. He nodded, only to realize that Akutagawa could not see him, so he whispered a soft “Sure.”
His cheeks still felt ablaze from Akutagawa’s joke, it was getting harder and harder to feel normal about the other man that he was lying in bed with. Atsushi ended up picking out Choose Love because the choose your own story premise seemed interesting enough and he didn’t really know enough romantic movies to pick out something he thought Akutagawa would genuinely enjoy. So he went for something that wasn’t trying to be serious.
They spent the first half of the movie clicking through decisions and bickering about who should get with whom and what to choose. The fight for dominance over the computer had scooted them closer together so that their thighs were smooshed together and Akutagawa’s now mostly dry head was pressed against Atsushi’s chest. He didn’t mind at all.
They were watching a particularly heated kissing scene when Atsushi looked down to see Akutagawa’s fingers ghosting lightly over his own lips. His gaze suggested that he had stopped paying attention to the movie and was lost in thought.
“Are you alright?” Atsushi mumbled, nudging Akutagawa out of the daze.
Akutagawa looked up at him, “Have you ever kissed anyone?”. It sounded as innocent as earlier but Atushi had been fooled once already, so he kept his guard up and focused on not becoming a blushing mess in front of silver eyes.
“Uh, Yeah.” Was all he could manage, gulping at the furrow that appeared in Akutagawa’s eyebrow.
“Who?” He said, frowning. God. Atushi was going to puke his guts out and then die. How could Akutagawa be saying all of this so casually while he was practically wrapped in Atsushi’s arms? Atsushi considered asking if this was some sort of elaborate prank against him as he had thought earlier.
He decided to be honest, “Lucy and I both were embarrassed we hadn’t kissed anyone before. So we tried it a few times. We're better off friends, plus she has acquired a major crush on— never mind.” Atsushi shut his mouth, Akutagawa didn’t need to know everything.
Akutagawa lifted himself from his position lying on Atsushi and whipped around to look at him. He was sitting on his knees now, hands planted into the mattress and eyes trained on Atsushi in a dark stare. “So it’s embarrassing that I haven’t kissed anyone?” Akutagawa sneered, pressing his face closer to Atsushi’s so that he wouldn’t dare break eye contact.
“No, no, no! Not what I meant. That’s, like, totally fine that you haven’t kissed anyone. It doesn’t matter to me! It's totally normal. I just worded that weirdly. I mean if you wanted to try kissing, like, I could help but that's, like, not even relevant. Some people never kiss anyone at all and that's fine too! I think it really just depends on the person — so yeah.”
“Atsushi.” The strangeness of hearing his name on Akutagawa’s tongue drew him out of his rant. His cheeks had never felt so hot and by the looks of it, he’d said something worthy of the red flush because Akutagawa’s cheeks were stained a matching scarlet.
“Did I say something dumb? I apologize in advance.” Atsushi mumbled, trying his best to not look at Akutagawa’s lips. He was failing.
“Depends on whether or not you were serious or not about kissing me?” Akutagawa retorted, impossibly closer to him.
“I- Yes - I would do that.” Atsushi nodded dumbly.
“Oh.” Akutagawa blinked a few times, eyes wide and curious, like he wasn’t expecting to get this far.
“You can get in my lap.” Atsushi managed to get out. Akutagawa was too far away to kiss right now and if this was Akutagawa’s first kiss he should guide the other, right?
Akutagawa looked at him, silver eyes glowing with something Atsushi’s purple and gold couldn’t interpret. He let things flow though, and did his best to not worry too much about whether or not he was screwing up a year of progress or eternally stitching them together with every shy touch and glance. As the other delicately crawled into a position straddling Atsushi.
Akutagawa settled himself in Atsushi’s lap and placed his hands hesitantly on his shoulders. Atsushi didn’t move to touch him yet, wanting to let Akutagawa get as comfortable as possible. He just watched as Akutagawa took some breaths in, probably something Fukuzawa or Kunikida taught him for anxiety. He remembers getting that same lesson.
“What now?” Akutagawa breathed. He was light in Atsushi’s lap. Atsushi brought his hand up to Akutagawa’s cold cheek, tucking the strand of hair behind his ear like he’d done earlier.
This wasn’t the first time such thoughts had crossed his mind. But it was certainly the most appropriate time to let them bubble up in his brain. Akutagawa was gorgeous and couldn't wait to see his pale lips turn cherry red.
“Okay, I’m going to kiss you. Just follow after me, okay?” Akutagawa nodded.
Then Atsushi’s hand was cupping Akutagawa’s cheek again and pulling him in. He met the other halfway in a simple kiss. He had to tilt his head to the side so their noses weren’t brushing together. He decided that he would have to pioneer the theory that the reason Akutagawa was so cold must be because all of the heat was concentrated in his mouth. His lips burned deliciously against his own and every flame of fire between them ignited him to continue that much more. Pressing harder and slowly moving his lips from a prolonged peck to something more heated.
He doesn’t know when it happened but Akutagawa’s hands had moved from his shoulders to the back of his head tugging on the hair there. It made him groan, he couldn’t imagine why he hadn’t tried to kiss the other before. Then he remembered that this was Akutagawa’s first kiss, which made him light up with a sense of pride.
He hadn’t gotten the chance to slip his tongue in before Akutagawa pulled away to catch his breath. His skin was alight with color and his lips were exactly as he imagined, maybe even better. Akutagawa looked at him, licking his already wet lips.
“You are a natural at this,” Atsushi said, tugging on the hair at the back of Akutagawa’s head in a teasing way.
To his pleasant surprise Akutagawa all but whimpered at the action. neck and face growing a deeper shade of red by the second. “You can be” he paused, “rougher, you know. If you want.” He breathed out with shut eyes.
It didn’t take anything else for Atsushi to get the message and his hands slid down Akutagawa’s sides until they landed at his waist and he pulled Akutagawa flush against his own chest, lips reattaching to Akutagawa’s with record speed.
Their hips were flush together, and Akutagawa shyly grinded down into him adding friction to an already unsteady fire. The action made both of them gasp. Atsushi took Akutagawa’s momentary shock at his own pleasure to guide Akutagawa’s hips down again. He managed to press them together just perfectly so that he could hear the sweet sound of Akutagawa gasping against his lips again.
He smiled into the kiss with newfound confidence and a drive to ruin Akutagawa before sunrise. The next time Akutagawa moaned, Atsushi shot his tongue to gain entrance to Akutagawa's fire-hot mouth. He felt Akutagawa stutter against him as he sucked on the other boy’s tongue. His hands were placed low on Akutagawa’s back so he could slide warm fingers on the cool skin, where his sweater had risen up. The feeling of bare skin was driving him crazy, just a little bit.
Akutagawa pulled away again, “Touch me more or take my shirt off or flip me over, I don’t know but do something.” He said, eyes wide and demanding.
There was a desperateness there too though and Atsushi was no fool to miss an opportunity, “What do you say?” Atsushi teased hands running under Akutagawa’s sweater and against the dip of his back.
“Jinko, just do it.” Akutagawa said, nosing at Atsushi’s neck. “You said if I ever needed anything you would help.” He added.
Atsushi took one of his hands out of Akutagawa’s sweater and brought it to the back of his head. He pulled roughly at the hair there so that they could make eye contact, but it only made Akutagawa whine with pleasure and grind his hips down on Atsushi’s again, “Come on, what’s the magic word, Akutagawa?” He said gripping the older boy’s hips with his other free hand to stop his movement. It shouldn’t have been enough to stop Akutagawa but he was quickly figuring out that Akutagawa liked Atsushi’s control.
Akutagawa glared at him for a second but when he realized that Atsushi had too much pride to back down on this one he whispered, “Please.”
“Can you try a little louder for me?” Atsushi said, still smirking at the other.
Akutagawa nodded, but instead of saying it again just louder, he brought his lips close enough to Atsushi’s ear that when he whispered, “Please, Atsushi.” Atsushi thought he could finish right there.
In an instant, Atsushi had switched their position so Akutagawa was under him, sprawled out on the bed, and straddled by Atsushi’s own legs. His arms were trapped at the sides of his head where Atsushi pinned them, he marveled at the amount of trust Akutagawa had for him at this moment.
Then their lips were crashing together again. Everything was faster and quicker and messier. His hips ground down on the mess of the ex-mafioso he’d made. They were both hungry at each other’s lips but it was clear that Atsushi was still leading the show. In this state, Akutagawa seemed to do whatever Atsushi pleased.
Atsushi could feel how hard both of them were without having to see or touch the other below his waist. He grabbed Akutagawa’s black sweater and helped him get it off so he could roam his hands over clean skin. He was littered with scars that Atsushi ran careful fingers over. Akutagawa keened into the touch and tugged at the hem of Atsushi’s own shirt, begging with his eyes and softly muttering “off” so as to get Atsushi’s skin on his own.
Atsushi pulled away again so that he could take off his shirt. Akutagawa looked up at him, heaving breaths into scarlet lips. Atsushi marveled at the mess he’d made. Akutagawa’s hair was ruffled more than usual and his skin was flush. The ex-mafioso was desperately trying to add friction to the equation from the way he was bucking up into the place where their lower halves met. It made the inner tiger growl with hunger.
Atsushi brought a hand down to cup Akutagawa’s cheek, “You’re beautiful, like, really, really pretty.” He said, running his thumb over Akutagawa’s bruised bottom lip. The older’s eyes were glossy as they looked up at him, and he felt alight with something akin to pride. He guided Akutagawa’s mouth open and watched him suck on the digit like he was made for it. Akutagawa’s hand came to hold Atsushi’s wrist in place, looking up at Atsushi with feigned innocence.
“I want to ruin you,” Atsushi said, watching with fiery eyes as Akutagawa worked. It was hard not to imagine other things with a hot, warm, mouth wrapped around his thumb. He stayed strong though, it didn’t feel right to go any further than kissing tonight.
Akutagawa pulled at Atsushi’s wrist and detached his thumb from his mouth with a small popping noise.
“I would like that.” Akutagawa said, yawning.
Atsushi gushed at the sight of the other boy’s eyes shutting tight to blink away the tiredness, he was so fond. “You’re tired,” he said, pulling himself out of his position above Akutagawa and lying down beside him. Akutagawa turned to look at his eyes, practically whining at him.
They were so close like this, they were breathing in the same air. “If you’re gonna leave me with blue balls you better be sleeping over.” Akutagawa huffed, he was still lying on his back but he’d crossed his arms over his chest as he spoke.
“I’m not going anywhere! Where would I go when you are right here?” He said, it was cheesy, but something in him was realizing Akutagawa liked cheesy things. He wrapped an arm around Akutagawa’s waist and pulled him in close. Stuffing his nose in the side of Akutagawa’s fluffy black hair.
Akutagawa squirmed in his hold, “Jinko,” he whined, “I need to use the restroom.” He let out an unfiltered whine but let go of the older boy. They both ended up going to the restroom to “clean up”, as Akutagawa had put it.
But when Atsushi got back to the room, Akutagawa was waiting for him. Demanding that he was the big spoon and he got to hold Atsushi. It was nice because of Atsushi’s own tendency to curl up as small as possible in his sleep.
He dreamt of tea shop dates and feeding the ducks in the park with a grumpy ex-mafioso that night, and it was safe to say he slept better than he had in weeks.
