Have We Met Before?

Summary:

Jungwoo has to find some evidence of his boyfriend cheating so he dresses up as a girl for the night. He meets Jaehyun and thinks that a one-night stand would be a fun rebound.

It pretty much goes downhill from there.

A mostly lighthearted college ABO story because I need more Jaewoo in my life.

Notes:

Hello, I'm here to spread the Jaewoo agenda one more time, in my typical omegaverse fashion. If you haven't read my other Jaewoo fic, High Intesity please check it out! It's a Scream inspired slasher, and one of my favorite works. Chapter 2 and 3 will be uploaded by the end of the week.

EDIT: the orphan account is my old account, this one is my new main~

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Play Dress Up by MBLAQ

Chapter Text

“This isn’t going to work, is it?”

Jungwoo could barely recognize himself in the mirror. His short wavy brown hair was under a long black lace front wig, styled with bangs that framed his face and curls that waterfalled just past his shoulders. His usually sharp eyebrows were softened and feathered, while his eyes were decorated with sparkly eyeshadow and lined black. The circle lenses he had in made his brown eyes look big and sparkling. His pink blush matched his painted lips and his false eyelashes were long and perfectly curled. He adjusted the sleeves on his cropped white sweater, careful not to get makeup on it. His nails, a pink manicure with cutely drawn red hearts, were the only thing he managed to do himself.

"It better work, there's a lot of money worth of makeup on that face right now." Ten said, adjusting Jungwoo's wig one last time.

They were at Ten's place with Taeil and Taeyong, all three omegas helping Jungwoo get dressed.

The occasion? To catch his cheating boyfriend in the act without getting spotted.

"Stand up, let me see the whole thing."

Taeil was sitting on the bed with Taeyong. He had helped Jungwoo pick out the outfit he would wear and wanted to see his work. Jungwoo stood up from Ten's vanity and showed off to his friends. Along with the sweater, Jungwoo was wearing a tight navy blue pencil skirt and sparkling pantyhose. His shoes were cute mary janes, with not much of a heel since he was tall enough already. Ten sprayed him with a perfume that included a scent blocker, masking his usually sweet cream and vanilla scent with a floral note.

"You look absolutely stunning, but I still don't understand why we have to dress you up for this."

Jungwoo pouted and tugged at the pencil skirt.

"If I want evidence of Heeyeol cheating, I need to catch him off guard. If he sees me or recognizes any of you he's going to come up with some excuse."

"Why do you need proof? We all know he's cheating, babe."

Jungwoo knew it was true. He and Heeyeol had been dating for a year. At first, the alpha had been so kind and caring, along with being a charming and handsome guy. Jungwoo had fallen for his charms easily as well as his spicy scent. But in the past months, Heeyeol had gotten distant and rude, insisting he was just busy with school things. Since he was pre-med and Jungwoo was "just a literature major" he said that Jungwoo wouldn't understand what he was going through.

It came to a head on their latest date when Jungwoo caught a glimpse of his boyfriend's phone. Heeyeol had been on a dating app. Instead of freaking out like he really wanted to, Jungwoo had come up with an idea. He'd disguise himself and get proof before dumping Heeyeol and moving on.

But now that he was dressed up, he was doubting himself.

The fact that he was crossdressing didn't really bother him, he had skirts and feminine clothing in his closet already. After all, male and female omegas were hardly that different. Most female omegas had fuller breasts and most male omegas had larger bottom growth, but other than that there wasn't much setting them apart. No, all of Jungwoo’s anxiety came from the idea of actually finding his boyfriend with someone else.

Heeyeol was his first real boyfriend. Jungwoo thought they would be together for the long haul, but now it was crumbling down in his face.

"If I don't see it myself, I don't trust myself to not get back with him," Jungwoo answered truthfully. He had tried breaking things off before but never went through with it.

Taeyong got off the bed and gave him a hug, careful not to mess with the makeup that Ten carefully painted on.

"Get that bastard."

"Sure you don't want us to come with?" Taeil asked, getting in on the group hug. "I would totally rock this little black dress."

"Next time we'll all dress up and find me a new man." Jungwoo joked.

***

He took a taxi to a bar that he knew Heeyeol frequented. Jungwoo had never been himself, always turned off by bars and clubs. Before heading inside, he decided to text Heeyeol one last time.

Jungwoo: Hey baby, are you sure you don't want me to come over?

He stood in front of the bar, waiting for an answer which came rather quickly.

Heeyeol: I'm still not feeling well, babe..wouldn't want to get you sick. I'll just stay in bed.

Alright, Jungwoo thought. If he's really in here, then it's over.

The omega headed inside, pleasantly surprised to find that the bar wasn't as crowded as he had worried. It was pretty spacious with low and neon lighting. The bar was off to the side with a few bartenders working behind it. Past the bar, there were some tables spread throughout until you got to the stage. There was a DJ up there, hyping up the crowd and playing some popular music. Scent dampeners were in the air, a clean scent that was supposed to keep all the alpha and omegas scents from driving people crazy.

Jungwoo had no idea if Heeyeol would even be there or if he would be with someone, but he had to look. He took a breath and scanned the bar first, not noticing Heeyeol's usually slicked back blonde hair or often brightly colored outfits.

The omega flicked his hair back, not used to all the thick hair on his neck, and kept walking. He tried to act natural as he made his way through people and tables. Jungwoo's head bobbed to the music and he smiled at people as he walked back. He noticed a few people checking him out, but that wasn't what he was there for.

He made it all the way to the stage without seeing Heeyeol. For a moment, he was happy. Maybe he had simply overreacted and Heeyeol really was sick at home. Another part of him thought that Heeyeol had simply gone to another bar instead. Still, Jungwoo was about to cut his losses and call another taxi when he spotted a familiar blonde hairdo in the corner.

Heeyeol was standing at a table with a drink in his hand. He was laughing and smiling with a red-haired man who was leaning into his space. The boy was pretty and on the shorter side, and he wasn't someone Jungwoo had seen on campus. The alpha's other hand was on the man's waist and Jungwoo wanted to scream. Before he lost his mind he pulled out his phone and hit record, hoping it wasn't too obvious.

Jungwoo recorded Heeyeol leaning into the man and kissing him before he had seen enough and walked away.

Instead of leaving, Jungwoo went to the bar, finding an empty seat in the back corner. It was probably a bad seat if you wanted the attention of the bartender but good if you didn't want to be noticed.

Immediately Jungwoo sent the video to his group chat of friends.

Jungwoo: it's over. I hate him.

Taeil: oh my god, what a dickhead!!

Taeyong: I knew he was bad news, I'm so sorry my baby.

Ten: Whenever you want to key his car, I'm ready.

Taeyong: Should we pick you up?

Jungwoo: I'm just gonna have one drink and go home.

Ten: If the cute redhead bartender is working, he gives free drinks if you flirt!!

Jungwoo smiled as his friend's messages piled in, but his heart was so heavy. Why did Heeyeol have to cheat on him?

There was a bartender working with bright red hair, but he was on the other end of the bar and Jungwoo didn't feel like shouting. Instead, he just sat and thought about all the time and energy he had wasted on Heeyeol.

He thought he loved him, and had always imagined a future with him. Jungwoo did everything for him, going over just to clean up his apartment or cook him dinner. Heeyeol had barely been grateful and Jungwoo felt like such a fool.

Jungwoo's eyes started to water, threatening to ruin his makeup. He dabbed at his eyes to keep the tears from falling. He felt so pathetic and thought about just forgetting the drink and going home. Then, he heard a voice next to him.

“Are you okay?”

Jungwoo looked up and saw a ridiculously handsome man. He had black hair styled to perfection, a sharp jawline, and intense eyes. There was a soft smile on his face and his lips looked so plush. Jungwoo wanted to cry out of embarrassment because this model of a man had seen him look so pathetic.

“I, I…I don’t know.” Jungwoo stuttered in a higher-pitched voice than normal. He had practiced it all day so we wouldn’t sound recognizable, as if that mattered now. The handsome bar leaned over the bar, grabbing a napkin from a little station and handing it to Jungwoo. He sat down on the seat next to him as Jungwoo dabbed at the tears before they fell.

“Pretty girl like you shouldn’t be crying at the bar alone.” The man was so close, speaking loud enough for Jungwoo to hear him over the music. His voice was deep and almost rumbly. Jungwoo could detect his scent, the smell of spiked peaches and pie.

“It wasn’t exactly the plan.”

“Did..something happen?”

“It’s a long story.” Jungwoo wasn’t sure why he was even talking to the guy. He wanted comfort, and the guy was offering. “I probably shouldn’t tell it to a stranger.”

“Well, we don’t have to be strangers. I’m Jaehyun.”

“I’m…Rose.” Jungwoo lied. He had never seen Jaehyun before, but he wasn’t exactly himself that night, so what was the harm?

“Rose. Pretty name for a pretty girl.” Jaehyun said it with a smirk and Jungwoo couldn’t help but smile. “Can I buy you a drink?”

Jungwoo nodded and Jaehyun turned to the bartenders and shouted.

“Yo! Yuta!”

The red-haired bartender turned at the shout and grinned, walking over to Jungwoo and Jaehyun.

“What’s up?”

“Whiskey sour for me, and whatever she wants.”

The bartender, Yuta, turned to look at Jungwoo. He was handsome too and his gaze was heartmelting. Jungwoo couldn’t believe that there were two handsome alphas giving him attention when two seconds ago he was the most pathetic person in the bar.

“And who is this lovely lady?”

“Rose,”  Jungwoo answered, sure that he was blushing.

“Well, Rose~” Yuta drew out the name with a smirk, leaning over the bar a little. “If you get bored of this guy, my shift ends at midnight.”

“You wish,” Jaehyun muttered, but he was laughing. Jungwoo guessed that they were close friends.

“Alright, what can I get you, sweetness?”

“Hmm…” Jungwoo looked at the near-endless line of alcohol bottles behind the bar. “Something that tastes like…peaches?” He said, looking at Jaehyun when he did. The other man was looking at him like Jungwoo was edible.

“Peaches…Alright, you got it. But if you want a cherry bomb afterward, you just let me know.” Yuta winked before getting to work on the drinks.

Jungwoo turned back to Jaehyun.

“You come here so often that you know the bartender?”

Jaehyun chuckled and shook his head.

“Yuta and I go way back. I actually just transferred here for school.”

“Oh, really? What do you study?”

“Undetermined right now. Are you in school?”

Jungwoo nodded, crumbling up the tissue he had used to wipe his tears.

“I study…journalism.” He lied, knowing that he could very well see Jaehyun on campus later on. He knew that this whole alter ego thing was a bad idea but he was getting into the character and it was sort of fun. After all, how often do you get to be someone else? Yuta brought their drinks before helping other customers.

“See? We’re not strangers anymore. So, want to tell me why you were so down?”

Jungwoo took a sip of his drink to get some courage. It was delicious, a fruity burst of flavor on his tongue. He took out his phone and placed it on the bar, pulling up the video he had taken of Heeyeol. Jaehyun watched it with a raised eyebrow.

“That guy is, no, he was my boyfriend. I just caught him with someone else.”

Jaehyun’s jaw clenched and he threw a look over his shoulder towards the tables. Jungwoo couldn’t see Heeyeol from there, thankfully.

“What a fucking asshole, you want me to say something to him?”

Jungwoo placed a hand on Jaehyun’s arm. Even through his jacket, Jungwoo could feel the strong muscles of his body.

“No, don’t. He’s not worth it. Honestly, this was just the last straw.”

Jaehyun turned back to the bar and took a sip of his drink. Jungwoo let go of his arm, already missing the warmth.

“I just want to take my mind off of it. So, distract me?”

Jaehyun’s smirk made Jungwoo blush again.

“Yeah, I can do that.”

So they talked for a while. Jungwoo was careful with the information he gave out, but Jaehyun was so easy to talk to. Jungwoo told him briefly about his relationship, about his annoying boyfriend and the fact that he had to catch him in the act. Jaehyun listened, making sure to tell Jungwoo about how much of an idiot his ex was.

"If I had a girlfriend as sweet as you, I'd never do something as stupid as cheat."

"You don't know if I'm sweet." Jungwoo scoffed, finishing up his peachy drink. He was worried that it would be secretly too strong, but all he felt was a pleasant buzz. "I could be a total bitch."

That made Jaehyun laugh, sitting back in his seat.

"Nah, I don't believe that. You're a good girl, I can tell."

Something about Jaehyun calling him a good girl made Jungwoo blush. He was already feeling hot under his gaze and kept adjusting his skirt.

"Sure, sure. I'll let you believe that."

Jaehyun talked about moving to the city for school. He had been unsure about what he wanted to pursue in school, but when Yuta offered him a place to stay he decided to take a chance.

"We have different schedules, so it mostly works out. He offered to get me a job here but I'm not the type."

"I don't know, I think you'd look good in the uniform."

"Yeah? Does all black with a half apron turn you on?" Jaehyun was watching him with smoky, sensual eyes. Jungwoo liked being looked at like that.

"Maybe…"

"Well, the dress code at the restaurant I work at is actually white shirts, but I still got the half apron."

"Sexy." Jungwoo teased, making Jaehyun laugh. He had a warm, hearty laugh.

Yuta brought him another drink without asking, too busy to stop and flirt. The bar was getting more busy, filling up with people. Jungwoo took a sip of the drink and giggled.

"Cherries."

"He's such an ass," Jaehyun scoffed.

They were so in their own little world that Jungwoo didn't notice Heeyeol approaching the bar. The tall, skinny alpha squeezed into the bar, trying to get the attention of one of the bartenders.

"Excuse me!" The alpha called out. There were only a couple of people between Jungwoo and Heeyeol. When Jungwoo heard his voice, he looked over Jaehyun's shoulder and tensed up. Jaehyun looked over too, recognizing the alpha from the video.

"Don't," Jungwoo whispered before hiding his face with his hair. Heeyeol hadn't noticed him yet and he wanted to keep it that way. Jaehyun glared at Heeyeol for a second before leaning into Jungwoo's space. He brushed the omegas hair back and looked him in the eye. The closeness made Jungwoo vibrate and he literally trembled when the alpha whispered to him.

"Don't think about him, just focus on me."

And so Jungwoo focused on Jaehyun's face. They were so close that their breath intermingled and Jungwoo was entranced by him. It was silly, but Jaehyun was like a knight in shining armor. He was exactly what Jungwoo needed.

Tonight, he wasn't Jungwoo, sad and lonely omega. He was Rose, a beautiful omega with a sense of adventure.

So, he forgot about Heeyeol and kissed Jaehyun. It was a chaste, soft kiss before Jungwoo pulled back to check Jaehyun’s reaction. The alpha was clearly surprised by the kiss but his look of shock quickly turned to a smile and he placed a hand on Jungwoo’s cheek. He was so warm as he pulled Jungwoo in for another kiss. This one was much less chaste but still soft. Jaehyun kissed him with a fire that Jungwoo hadn’t felt on his best day with Heeyeol. The alpha’s other hand landed on Jungwoo’s thigh, rubbing his skin through the pantyhose.

When they pulled back the second time, Jaehyun didn’t go far. His hand moved down from Jungwoo’s cheek to his neck, rubbing the scent gland there with one of his wrists. Jungwoo was being properly scented and he wished he wasn't wearing a scent blocker. His sweet, vanilla-cream scent would mix so well with the cinnamony peach of Jaehyun’s.

“Let’s get out of here,” Jaehyun whispered.

“Okay,” Jungwoo replied.

Jaehyun got Yuta’s attention again, telling him to close his tab. Yuta took one look at Jungwoo clinging to Jaehyun’s arms and covered his chest like he had been shot.

“You’re killing me, Rose.”

“Yeah, yeah, just charge my card.” Jaehyun pulled out his wallet, leaving a nice-sized cash tip. Yuta brought him a receipt and Jungwoo looked as Jaehyun signed it.

“Two drinks? But you made us three?” Jungwoo asked, and Yuta gave him another wink.

“You can have a cherry bomb for free, whenever you need baby girl.”

Jungwoo giggled and Jaehyun rolled his eyes before wrapping an arm around Jungwoo’s waist.

“See ya.”

“Bye, Yuta.” Jungwoo waved his manicured fingers at the other man while Jaehyun led him outside the bar. Heeyeol was the last thing on his mind as Jaehyun called for a taxi. He decided to text his friends.

Jungwoo: Met a guy, I’m going back to his place

Taeil: Excuse me???

Ten: That was fast, get it girl!

Taeyong: Turn your location on!!

Jungwoo shared his location with his friends, laughing at their reactions.

“What’s up?” Jaehyun asked, and Jungwoo flashed his phone. They got into the back of a taxi and Jaehyun gave the driver an address and they were off.

“Just telling my friends where I am in case you’re a psycho.” Jungwoo was mostly joking but you could never be too careful.

“You can take a picture if you want. You know, in case they need to provide my description.”

“Really?”

“Sure.”

Jungwoo opened up his camera app and held it up. For a moment, he just stared at himself in the camera. He couldn’t believe that he was looking at himself. Jaehyun leaned into the frame and they took a cute couple's selfie. Jungwoo uploaded it into the group chat.

Ten: Where tf did you find this hottie?

Jungwoo: He found me. Friends with the cute red head bartender.

Taeil: See if he has any more friends!!

Taeyong: He looks so familiar…

Ten: Ugh, should have gone out with you.

Ten: Get that dick for all of us!

Jungwoo laughed and pocketed his phone, leaning into Jaehyun’s side.

“So, did your friends approve?”

“Maybe.”

Jaehyun grinned and placed a hand on Jungwoo’s thigh, squeezing it while they drove to his and Yuta’s shared apartment. They talked about buildings that passed by, food places to try, and little things that kept Jungwoo from freaking out. He couldn’t believe that he was potentially going to sleep with a guy right after finding out his boyfriend was a good-for-nothing cheater. Still, he figured this would be a good rebound now that he was single.

They got out of the taxi and Jaehyun let Jungwoo to an apartment a few floors up. He unlocked the door and let the omega inside. Jungwoo took off his shoes and put his purse down.

“Here, extra slippers.” Jaehyun offered him some white, plush slippers that Jungwoo put on. “Can I get you anything? Beer, wine, water, whatever.”

“I’ll take some water.” Jungwoo walked into the living room while Jaehyun made his way to the kitchen.

Compared to the messy apartment that Heeyeol and his roommates had, this place was a haven. It wasn’t perfect but it certainly wasn’t what Jungwoo expected. He pinched himself, trying not to compare Jaehyun and Heeyeol. It was useless now, and he should at least enjoy himself.

As he played with his hair, he started to overthink again. Technically, he was lying to Jaehyun. He bit his lip as he thought about a way to break it to him without making a total fool of himself. Before he came up with something Jaehyun came with a bottle of water for him and a beer for himself and sat down on the couch with him.

“We don’t have to do anything,” Jaehyun said, suddenly looking bashful. “I mean, no pressure or anything. I just don’t want you to think I’m taking advantage of you or something.”

Jungwoo’s softened, pushing his hair off his shoulders.

“I don’t feel pressured. I like being here, with you.”

“I like having you with me. We could, uh, put on a movie?”

“Sure!”

Jaehyun turned on the television and clicked on a streaming service, finding a random action movie and clicking it. Jungwoo sipped his water, glad that he had a mostly clear head about the whole thing. Jaehyun’s arms went over his shoulder and pulled him in.

Jungwoo wanted Jaehyun to make the first move, but something told him that he wouldn’t. So, Jungwoo put his half-drunk bottle of water down and placed a hand on Jaehyun’s thigh. The alpha’s hand on his shoulder tightened as Jungwoo let his hand slide up toward Jaehyun’s cock. When he finally brushed his hand against Jaehyun’s already hard dick, Jungwoo turned to face him. Immediately, Jaehyun caught him with a hard kiss. Jungwoo moaned as the man absolutely ravaged his mouth and brought him closer.

“Come here,” Jaehyun’s voice was a growl.

Jungwoo wasn’t a small person. In fact, he and Jaehyun were about the same height, though the alpha’s frame had more muscle mass. Still, Jungwoo had been self-conscious about it in his relationship with Heeyeol. The alpha had often told him that he wished Jungwoo was more petite so they could do more ‘cute couple’ things. Now that Jaehyun was pulling him into his lap with one arm and holding him easily, Jungwoo realized that Heeyeol was full of shit.

“I want it,” Jungwoo moaned softly against Jaehyun’s lips. “I want you.”

“You can have me, baby. I’ll give it all to you.”

Jaehyun stood up, picking up Jungwoo in the process. The omega squeaked, wrapping his arms around Jaehyun so he wouldn’t fall.

“I won’t drop you, I swear,” Jaehyun promised as he carried Jungwoo out of the living room and into his bedroom. Inside the bedroom, Jaehyun’s scent was everywhere. It wrapped around Jungwoo and made him more excited. Jaehyun was careful as he put Jungwoo down on his bed.

Jungwoo lay back on the bed, watching Jaehyun strip off his shirt above him. The alpha joined him in bed, hovering over him to kiss him. Jungwoo was already starting to crave the kisses from Jaehyun. He pulled his skirt up to his waist so he could spread his legs wider and Jaehyun could slot his body between them.

"Soon as I saw you I knew I had to have you. So pretty, so perfect."

Jungwoo moaned as Jaehyun whispered in his ear, stroking his body and grinding down between his legs. He pulled Jaehyun as close as he could, feeling the hardness in his pants.

"Let me," Jungwoo gasped out, kissing Jaehyun again. "Let me up."

Jaehyun sat up, pulling Jungwoo up into a sitting position as well.

"Everything okay?"

"Mhm, I just want to suck your dick."

Jaehyun let out a sound of disbelief before kissing Jungwoo again.

"Whatever you want."

Jaehyun sat at the head of the bed and Jungwoo kneeled between his legs. He pulled down Jaehyun's pants and boxers down just enough for his hard cock to spring up.  It was thick but it fit in Jungwoo's hand just right as he stroked it with a wet hand.

Jaehyun's eyes on him just made Jungwoo hotter as he licked from base to tip, sucking on the head. With his one free hand, Jungwoo pressed against his cocklet, moaning at the pressure. Jaehyun groaned at the feeling and Jungwoo took him deeper in his mouth, almost to his throat. He had some experience from Heeyeol and other hookups, but not enough to take the full length without gagging. Jaehyun didn’t seem to mind and his soft moans filled the room.

Jungwoo felt a hand on his hair. For a moment he worried that Jaehyun would pull on the wig but instead, the alpha pushed his bangs out of the way so he could look at him. Their eyes met and Jungwoo swore he felt Jaehyun’s dick pulse. He sucked his dick, stroking it every time he lifted his head. Jaehyun tasted good, and Jungwoo couldn’t get enough of his. He wanted to take off his pantyhose and get off but he was more focused on swallowing Jaehyun’s cum.

Jaehyun finally came and Jungwoo swallowed, pulling off with a moan of his own. He didn’t have a chance to say anything because Jaehyun was kissing him again. The alpha moaned into his mouth, holding him close.

“You’re so amazing, Rose.”

The sound of the fake name on Jaehyun’s lips broke Jungwoo’s fantasy. He was lying and Jaehyun would absolutely hate him if he knew. God, he was such an idiot.

The look on Jungwoo’s face must have alerted Jaehyun because the alpha frowned and held his face.

“Baby? What’s wrong?”

Jungwoo suddenly felt like crying again. He didn’t want this encounter to end as a one-night stand, but what choice did he have now? Telling the truth now would only be humiliating.

“I…I’m sorry. I can’t.”

“Did I hurt you?”

Jungwoo shook his head, moving away from Jaehyun on the bed.

“It’s not you, it’s me. I just, I just need a second.”

“Yeah, of course, babe. You want to use the bathroom?”

“I just want to sit here for a minute.”

“Okay…Okay, I’ll go to the bathroom, take a shower, and stuff. We can just chill, no pressure.”

Jungwoo mustered up a smile and a nod, and Jaehyun kissed him again before getting up and heading to the bathroom. As soon as Jungwoo heard the shower turn on, he got up and fixed his clothes.

He was sick to his stomach with guilt. He wanted to tell Jaehyun the truth but his tongue was tied and tears were in his eyes. He hurried out of the bedroom and went straight to the entryway to get out of there.

Of course, Yuta was getting home as Jungwoo entered the living room. The alpha was in the entryway, taking off his jacket.

“Hey, sweetness, did Jaehyun bore you al-” Yuta stopped his silly joke when he realized that Jungwoo was crying and clearly distressed. The alpha stopped and stood right in front of Jungwoo.

“What happened?”

Jungwoo tried to push past him but Yuta grabbed his hands.

“I have to go,” Jungwoo whined.

“Did he hurt you?”

“No, no! He’s…” Jungwoo sighed, trying not to cry like an idiot. “He’s perfect, I’m the fucking problem. Just let me go and you’ll never see me again.”

“Let me take you home, Jaehyun’ll kill me if I let you out at midnight.”

“I’ll just call my friend, I’ll be fine. Please, Yuta.”

The alpha didn’t feel convinced, but he did let go of Jungwoo. The omega rubbed his eyes, sure that his makeup looked like shit now. As he put on his shoes and headed out the door Jungwoo turned back to Yuta.

“Please tell Jaehyun that I’m sorry.”

He didn’t wait for Yuta’s reply, just headed out the door and ran. As soon as he was down the apartment building stairs, Jungwoo pulled out his phone and called Taeil. He was already blubbering when the other omega answered.

“Jungwoo? Oh my god, what happened?”

“I’m so stupid!” Jungwoo sobbed, standing on the sidewalk and looking for a taxi.

“Send me your location, I’ll get you a ride. Do not get off the phone with me, okay?”

“Okay.” He whined, sniffling in the cold air.

The car came rather quickly and Jungwoo got in the car. The driver didn’t speak as he headed to Jungwoo and Taeil’s apartment. Taeil soothed him over the phone, telling him that everything was going to be okay.

Taeil was waiting outside when the car dropped Jungwoo off, already in his pajamas. He looked worried as Jungwoo walked over to him and wrapped the omega up in a big hug.

"I ruined everything."

"Let's get you inside and cleaned up, then you can tell me everything."

***

After he was out of the outfit, makeup, and wig, Jungwoo laid his head on Taeil's lap while the other stroked his head. He had told Taeil everything and was all cried out.

"I found the perfect guy and I ruined it with some stupid lie."

"You need to stop being so hard on yourself, Jungwoo. You had just caught your boyfriend cheating, a cute guy approached you and things went how they went! You didn't go out to deceive him."

Taeil was right but Jungwoo's guilt wouldn't let him admit it.

"It doesn't matter now. I ran out on him, I'm sure he hates me now and I have no way to get in contact and explain."

Taeil soothed Jungwoo, clearly worried about his friend.

"If it's meant to be, it will be. Get some rest and you'll have some clarity in the morning."

****

The only clarity Jungwoo got on the situation was that he had to break up with Heeyeol. He called him in the morning and simply said it.

"I'm breaking up with you."

"What? Babe, what do you mean?"

"I mean that I hate how you treat me and I don't want to be with you anymore."

Heeyeol had the audacity to scoff over the phone and Jungwoo suppressed the urge to throw his phone in the ground. He had purposely not told Heeyeol about the cheating because he knew that the alpha would find a way to spin it around. He did it every time Jungwoo tried to end their relationship so the omega was keeping the truth hidden.

"Come on, babe, give me another chance! I'll be better."

“You always say that and nothing changes!” Jungwoo shouted over the phone. He was already pissed off and angry about the entire situation. If Heeyeol had been in front of him he would have slapped him. “I’m sick of it.”

“Tell me the truth, is there another guy?”

“Are you- you know what? Yes, there is another guy. He’s hotter than you, he’s nicer than you, and his dick is bigger than yours. I’m blocking your number and I never want to hear from you again!”

Jungwoo hung up the phone, making sure to block Heeyeol’s number as well as all his social media profiles. He went through his instagram and wiped it clean of any couple-type post, practically erasing half his pictures. He threw his phone down on the bed and covered his face with a pillow.

He had found a better guy, and Jungwoo had thrown it away. Classes were starting on Monday and he was out of luck. Jungwoo curled back up in bed and went back to sleep.

“Listen, I think you’re overreacting.” Ten said before chomping down on a fry.

It was Monday and the four of them were sitting at a picnic table on campus for lunch. So far Jungwoo had one class and managed to not see Heeyeol. He had bigger problems than that though.

“I lied to him, and if that wasn’t bad enough I ran away. That was my one chance to tell the truth and I blew it.” Jungwoo whined, picking at his salad.

“Well, you said he goes here now, right?” Taeyong said, pausing to take another bite of his japchae, crunching on some veggies. “You just need to approach him and apologize. I’m sure he’ll understand!”

“I don’t want him to understand, I want him to date me.” Jungwoo groaned, pushing his salad away and resting his arms and head on the table to hide his face. “He doesn’t want me, he wants her.”

Taeil pat his back in encouragement while eating his rice bowl. “You didn’t tell him you were a girl, did you?”

“No.” Jungwoo’s voice was muffled by his arms.

“Then that’s his fault for assuming.” Ten decided. “Besides, you’re just as cute without makeup. You can get any man you want.”

“You’re just stressed from the breakup,” Taeyong added. “You shouldn’t just jump into another relationship cause the guy was nice to you.”

Jungwoo sat up with a pout. Taeyong was right, but Jungwoo was still choked up over the whole thing. When he looked over Taeyong’s shoulder, he saw a familiar blur of bright red hair. He ducked and groaned.

“Redhead bartender goes to school here too?” Ten said, following Jungwoo’s eyes.

Yuta was walking past the picnic tables towards the library, talking to someone else. Thankfully, Jaehyun wasn’t the person with him.

“Forget the redhead, who is that hottie next to him?” Taeil said, talking about the tall guy Yuta was walking with.

“Jungwoo, you stumbled onto a treasure trove of hot alphas.” Ten said. “You should really fix it with this Jaehyun guy, for the good of  the group.”

“I have no way to find him. If I approach him, he’s not even going to recognize me.”

“Alright, I have to get to class, and so do you all. Jungwoo, let’s just get through today and deal with the crisis later. Everyone can come over to mine after work.” Taeyong said before heading out.

“He’s right. The chances of seeing him are slim anyway. Don’t worry babe, we’ll take care of it.” Ten said.

Jungwoo said goodbye to his friends and headed to his next class. Talking to his friends helped but he was still unsure of how to proceed. He wanted to talk to Jaehyun and yet he was terrified of Jaehyun finding him. He also had to avoid Heeyeol like the plague or the alpha would pester him to death about getting back together.

His next class was a modern literature lecture and he was early, snagging a seat close to the top of the hall, one empty chair between him at the window. `He put his backpack on the table and pulled out a notebook and a pen. Jungwoo scrolled his phone while other students started to enter the classroom.

“Kim Jungwoo, spill!” Doyoung, one of Jungwoo’s closest friends in the major, came up and sat next to him. They had met when they first started in college and had been quite close every since. The other omega was smart, pretty, and nice.

“What?”

“I was talking to a friend that studies business and he said you and Heeyeol broke up! What happened?”

Jungwoo sighed, looking at his friend with a pout.

“I finally dumped him,” He leaned in a whispered. “I caught him cheating.”

Doyoung gasped, clinging onto Jungwoo’s arm dramatically.

“Oh, you poor thing. Honestly, good riddance. He was kind of a douchebag anyway.”

Jungwoo had to laugh. Did everyone hate his boyfriend?

The next person to come over was Mark, who took the seat next to Doyoung. Mark was a sweet alpha that most people fell in love with at first sight. He was one of those “good at everything, nice to everyone” type jocks that had friends in every major.

“What’s up, guys? Jungwoo, I heard you and Heeyeol broke up.”

Jungwoo nodded with a pout. Doyoung turned to Mark and whispered rather loudly.

“Heeyeol cheated.”

Mark gasped, a little overdramatically if you asked Jungwoo, before scoffing.

“The nerve of some people. Honestly, it’s for the best. That guy was a dick.”

Jungwoo whined. “Did everyone know my boyfriend sucked except for me?"

They both nodded and Jungwoo sighed loudly. The classroom was filling up now and class would be started any second now. Jungwoo was so deep in the realization that he had been dating literally the worst guy ever that he didn’t notice someone walking behind him.

“Is this seat taken?”

“No, go right-” Jungwoo turned to look at the person who spoke. “...ahead.”

He was dressed down, wearing sweatpants and a college sweatshirt. Shiny headphones hung on his neck and his hair was wet and a little messy. His eyes were a little dark from sleeplessness but his identity was undeniable.

Jaehyun slipped into the seat between Jungwoo and the window. He placed his bag on the table in front of him before turning to look at Jungwoo. Jungwoo knew he looked like a deer caught in headlights, so he turned his head forward but looked back at Jaehyun quickly.

“I’m Jaehyun.” His voice was just as comforting and deep as it had been that night.

“Oh, hi.” Jungwoo stuttered, his voice no longer the high-pitched twill he had used as Rose.

“Have we met before?"
