Chapter Text
“Come on, it’ll be fun!”
“You know I don’t like parties, Jungwoo.”
Jungwoo was pestering Doyoung before their modern literature class, poking the older omega with a pen. The annual Halloween party was coming up the following weekend and Jungwoo wanted Doyoung to join.
“You don’t have to stay long, just show up in a cute costume and take pictures!”
“I don’t even have a costume yet,” Doyoung muttered and Jungwoo frowned. Mark came up the stairs, taking his seat beside Doyoung.
“Hey guys! You going to the Halloween party?”
“I am, trying to convince Doyoung to come with. He doesn’t even have a costume, can you believe that Mark?”
“What! Come on Doie, you gotta dress up!”
Doyoung sighed, chin resting on his hand.
“Oh yeah, what are you dressing up as, Mark?”
“Spiderman, of course.”
“You always dress up as Spiderman.” Jungwoo joked.
“Yeah, 'cause Spiderman is cool. What about you, Jungwoo?”
Jungwoo sat up with a smile as Jaehyun showed up to class. The alpha sat close beside him and put an arm over Jungwoo’s shoulder, giving him a soft kiss on the cheek. The couple had been officially dating for a couple of months now, and all their friends were used to their PDA.
“Jaehyun and I are going to be Jack and Rose.”
Doyoung raised an eyebrow and Mark chuckled.
“Like, from Titanic?” Doyoung asked.
“Yup.”
“That’s so random dude,” Mark added.
Jungwoo looked at Jaehyun, who was already looking at him with a knowing smile.
“It’s an inside joke,” Jaehyun said. “You guys coming to the party?"
“It’s gonna be so crowded,” Doyoung whined.
“It’ll be a good time though, drinks, good music, plenty of eligible alphas,” Jaehyun said in an attempt to entice Doyoung. Instead, the omega rolled his eyes.
“Ew. No offense to you two.”
“No, I get it,” Mark said.
“Yeah, that’s fair,” Jaehyun agreed. “Plenty of cute omegas too though.”
“Excuse me?” Jungwoo said, raising an eyebrow at his boyfriend.
“I’m saying for other people, not me!”
“Will…” Doyoung started, hesitating before asking. “Will Taeyong be there?”
Jungwoo had introduced Doyoung to Taeyong a few weeks before when his pink-haired friend had visited the bookstore. They hit it off quickly, both studious and angelic omegas. Jungwoo had noticed Doyoung’s soft blush when he talked to Taeyong about mundane things, but he didn’t realize his friend might have a crush.
“Yes!” Jungwoo said, maybe a little too enthusiastically. “He’ll be there for sure. I think he’s dressing up as classic movie character or something.”
Doyoung seemed to think it over, a soft pink blush dusting his cheeks.
“Okay, I’ll think about it.”
“Wow, the power of Taeyong.” Mark joked, and Doyoung tugged his ear.
“Shut up!”
All four of them laughed but quieted down when class started. Jaehyun took his arm off Jungwoo so he could take notes, but they were close that their legs were still touching. The last couple of months with Jaehyun had felt like heaven. He didn’t even care about all the rumors that had flown around about him and Heeyeol, his annoying ex. He and Jaehyun knew the truth, and that’s all that mattered.
****
Jungwoo: I got Doyoung to agree to come to the party!
Taeil: Wow, how did you manage that? He didn’t even come to my birthday party, and we’ve known each other since high school.
Jungwoo: LMAO
Jungwoo: I told him Taeyong was going.
Ten: Ooooo, somebody likes our Taeyongie??
Taeyong: Really? He’s going?
Jungwoo: Well, he said he would think about it.
Taeyong: Don’t get my hopes up {crying emoji}
Ten: DO YOU LIKE HIM??
Taeyong: I think he’s cute…
Taeil: Is cute, can confirm.
Jungwoo: He’ll come, I’m sure of it!
Ten: If we play our cards right, we’ll all be coming on Halloween.
****
Johnny: Would it be corny if I asked out Taeil at the Halloween party?
Johnny: serious answers only
Yuta: of course that would be corny.
Yuta: but you're probably going to do it anyway
Sicheng: I thought you guys were already dating??
Johnny: We've been hooking up, but I want to go steady with him
Yuta: Go steady? What is this, Teen Beach Movie?
Jaehyun: I say go for it.
Johnny: Jae, has Jungwoo said anything about Taeil and me??? I need to know if he's really that into me.
Jaehyun: Not that I know of. I'm not asking my bf about his roommate's love life.
Johnny: Well now I'm nervous. What if I get rejected on Halloween??
Sicheng: speaking of Halloween, you guys better not pick out a weird costume for me. I'm supposed to be meeting Ten that night.
Johnny: I can't believe you're worried about that rn while I'm pouring my heart out
Jaehyun: You guys have been talking for weeks and you haven't hung out yet?
Sicheng: we have opposite schedules.
Yuta: Don't worry, I've got the person costume picked out for you Princess.
***
“I thought we all agreed to be princesses, this is so off-theme.” Ten whined, fixing his blonde wig. He was dressed in a blue dress with a white apron, white stockings, black shoes and a black bow. His Alice in Wonderland costume was actually pretty accurate, even if the skirt was a little shirt.
“Alice isn’t even a princess, dummy,” Taeil joked, fixing his fake eyelashes in the mirror. He was wearing a long golden yellow dress, a full face of glammed-up makeup, and matching yellow gloves. His long brunette wig fell in pretty waves down his back and gorgeously framed his face. Belle never looked so good. “I’m clearly the only one that understood the assignment.”
“I didn’t even want to do the princess thing. I wanted to be Cary Grant in a cute robe but you said no one would get it.” Taeyong sighed, adjusting his pearl necklace. He was in a little black dress and a fancy updo, holding a long cigarette holder.
“No one but you has seen My Favorite Wife.” Ten teased.
“It’s Bringing Up Baby, thank you very much.”
“Come on, you look hot as Tiffany,” Taeil said.
“The character is Holly Golightly! Have you guys ever seen a classic film?”
“Guys, help me with this dress!” Jungwoo complained and the omegas came to his rescue. The long sleeves of his classic dress had gotten tangled so they straightened them out and zipped up the back. His wig was similar to Taeil’s but more relaxed and wavy. He couldn’t wait to see how Jaehyun’s costume had turned out.
“Okay, are we ready? I’m getting the uber.” Ten tapped on his phone as they all headed through the door.
“You’re in such a rush, what’s gives?” Taeil lifted his dress as he walked.
“I want to see Sicheng’s costume. He refuses to tell me what it is! Our stupid schedules are so different that we haven’t gotten to meet up again since we swapped numbers.”
The group piled into the car, greeting the driver and chattering away as they headed to the house the party was at.
“Why does it matter what he’s wearing, you’re just gonna take it off.” Taeil joked, taking selfies with Jungwoo in the backseat.
“Come on, who doesn’t want to see a hot guy in a costume? I’m sure you can’t wait to see Johnny~~”
Taeil fixed his bangs and his smile told everything. Taeil and Johnny had clicked quickly, hooking up from time to time. The older omega spilled everything to Jungwoo during their self-care sessions and mentioned something about dating seriously. Johnny was handsome, nice, and just the right amount of goofy so Jungwoo was sure they would be great together.
By the time they arrived at the party, it was already bumping. Jungwoo wasn’t sure who owned the house but he guessed it didn’t really matter. There were a few people in groups outside, smoking and chatting away. Jungwoo didn’t recognize them so they headed inside. The house was huge, a wide open two-story with a big living room and kitchen on the first floor and a staircase leading up to a second sitting room and the bedrooms.
People were everywhere, mostly dancing in the living room or mixing drinks in the kitchen. Almost everyone was dressed up in costumes so they fit right in. Almost immediately, Ten spotted Sicheng and pointed him out to everyone.
“Oh, wow. He’s hot.” Taeil said.
“He really rocks a dress,” Jungwoo said.
Sicheng was sitting on the couch in a cute, blue ballgown. He wore matching blue gloves and a blonde wig styled into a bun, finished with a blue headband. The alpha was toying with the choker around his neck, looking around the party. Jungwoo watched Ten’s smile turn into a devilish smirk.
“Well, if you excuse me…I’m going to see what Cinderella has under her skirt.”
Ten departed, making a straight line to Sicheng on the couch.
“He doesn’t waste time. Come on, I think I saw our princes in the kitchen.” Taeil looped arms with Jungwoo and Taeyong and they walked forward.
They saw Johnny first, and Jungwoo thought he stepped on the set of a drama. Johnny was dressed as a royal prince with crisp black trousers and shiny boots, a ruffled white shirt, and a golden vest that matched Taeil’s. His hair was slicked back with a single curl hanging down his face. On his hip hung a fake sword on his belt and in his hand that wasn’t holding a drink he held a long-stemmed rose.
When Johnny saw Taeil, his usual model serious face turned to a big, happy smile. Taeil lit up when Johnny came over to them, disconnected from his friends before being swept up in a hug and kiss from Johnny.
“God, they’re so perfect it’s almost sickening,” Taeyong said, obviously happy for his friend. Jungwoo agreed as he watched Johnny give Taeil the rose.
“Shall we dance, princess?” Johnny said, clearly getting into his role. Taeil waved to his friends before both prince and princess left for the dancefloor.
Jungwoo kept looking for Jaehyun, but the alpha wasn’t in the kitchen. Jungwoo and Taeyong were about to go upstairs when they noticed someone wearing a pink, sheer dressing gown lined with fur.
Doyoung was standing near the stairs, in between the bustle of both the living room and kitchen. Under the sheer gown, Doyoung was wearing a tank top and a pair of trousers and his hair was slicked up in a fancy way. Jungwoo got his attention and greeted him with a hug.
“You actually came! You look so cute…but what’s your costume?”
“Everyone keeps asking me that,” Doyoung laughs. “It’s from a classic American movie.”
“Bringing Up Baby, right?” Taeyong asked, coming to stand next to Doyoung. Doyoung blushed and looked at Taeyong’s beautiful costume.
“Y-yeah! It’s um, one of my favorites. Holly Golightly, huh, what a great costume!”
Taeyong smiles, leaning into Doyoung’s space. The two of them quickly launched into a conversation about movies, and Jungwoo knew he wouldn’t be missed. He started up the stairs, looking around for Jaehyun.
“Where the hell is my boyfriend?” He mumbled, and a voice behind him answered.
“Here I am, sweetness.” An arm came around his waist to turn him around. Jungwoo rolled his eyes.
“Very funny, Yuta- oh my god, what happened to your hair?”
Yuta stood a few steps below him on the stairs. His makeup made him pale and his eyes looked darker and sunken in. His hair was black and he wore baggy jeans and a white long-sleeved shirt. He was smiling up at Jungwoo and checking him out.
“What, don’t like the new look?”
“Don’t tell me you dyed it for a weird anime costume,” Jungwoo said, reaching over to rub his hair through his fingers. When he pulled his hand back his fingers had black paint on them.
“Worry not, baby, it’s just hair paint. I’ll be back to your beloved cherry red in the morning.”
“Good, I like it.” Jungwoo gave Yuta a hug, kissing the alpha on the cheek in greeting. The longer Jaehyun and Jungwoo dated, the closer Jungwoo got to Yuta. The alpha was always around, and Jungwoo couldn’t say he hated the extra attention. Recently, he had been seeing Yuta in a brand new light. “Now, where the hell is Jaehyun?”
“I was looking for him too before I got distracted by your beauty,” Yuta said, sporting a red kiss mark on his cheek now. Jungwoo pushed him playfully, looking down at the dancing people in the living room.
“You two are blocking the stairs,” Jaehyun called out from the top of the steps, smiling at them. He was wearing tan trousers with thick, patterned suspenders. His shirt was fancy and old timey and his hair looked perfectly styled for an old movie set. Jungwoo smiled and rushed up the rest of the stairs to hug and kiss his boyfriend. Jaehyun kissed him, twirling him around a little.
“Where have you been?”
“I was looking for you,” Jaehyun said, kissing Jungwoo again. He looked so handsome in his costume and Jungwoo was falling for him all over again.
Yuta came up beside them and they walked further into the secondary sitting room. It was more chill there, with people hanging out on couches and talking away from the blaring music of the first floor. Jaehyun had his arm around Jungwoo, playing with the velvet fabric of his dress.
“All my friends left me,”
“Don’t worry, we’ll keep you company,” Yuta said, sitting down on a free couch. Jungwoo sat beside him and Jaehyun sat on the other side of him.
“Okay, but let’s take pictures first, this wig is making me sweat.”
***
“Hey there, Cinderella.”
Sicheng lifted his head up at the voice above him, his eyes gazing over white stockings and a blue dress before landing on Ten’s pretty face. Ten sat next to Sicheng, so close that their sides were touching as they spoke.
“T-ten, hi!”
“You really know how to pick a costume, Sicheng.”
Sicheng sighed, turning his face to hide his blush. Even though he and Ten had been texting, he still felt nervous around him. Ten was the one that had asked for his number when they first met, and it was so much easier to flirt over text.
“I lost a bet, actually. Yuta picked it out for me.”
“Well, I think it’s cute,” Ten said, so close that Sicheng caught his scent. He smelled like the ocean and clean linens, a summery scent that stood out as the weather got colder. “We kinda match, no?”
“Yeah, I guess so!”
Ten laughed, taking Sicheng’s hand in his own.
“Don’t be so nervous, babe. I’m not going to bite you.”
“S-sorry, I’m just in my own head. Do you, um, wanna dance?”
“Sure. Show me what you got, your highness!”

Johnny was so much fun. When Taeil first saw him, he thought Johnny was a stoic, typical popular guy. Fun for a hot night, but not much more.
And they did have a hot night after Jungwoo finally introduced them. They hooked up, got hot and heavy, and exchanged numbers. Then, they hooked up again.
And again.
After a few more nights, Johnny asked him out on a date. Taeil agreed, thinking that if anything he’d get a free meal out of it.
Johnny had taken him to a bowling alley, a move that Taeil thought was interesting at least. Sure, they had talked when they hooked up, but most of their conversations were a means to an end. That night, Taeil saw Johnny in a new light. The alpha was quick-witted and funny, filling the conversation with jokes and stories that kept the mood light. He was kind, offering Taeil his jacket when it got cold and helping some kids at the bowling alley with their shoes.
It had been a fun night, the best date Taeil had ever been on. He laughed so hard he cried, they drank cheap beer and ate greasy food, and they fell into bed at the end of the night again. Taeil had already become enamored with Johnny’s body and his scent of leather and rich black tea. Now, he found that he didn’t want to live without Johnny’s warm smile and light personality in his life. He wanted to enjoy life the way Johnny did, with his sparkling personality and easygoing attitude.
Now, they were dancing in the middle of Halloween party, dressed up like Belle and her prince. Johnny really got into character, first waltzing Taeil through the crowd even when the music playing was something you’d hear at a club. He twirled Taeil around and dipped him, to the omega’s delight. They jumped around and danced, getting into the party. Taeil had a good time, he always had a good time when he was with Johnny.
After a while, the heat of all the other bodies and the blasting music started to get to Taeil. He stopped jumping around and tried to fan away the sweat that was soaking his wig and his dress.
“You okay, babe?” Johnny leaned in and whispered so Taeil could hear him.
“It’s so hot in here,” Taeil whined, and before he knew it Johnny was whisking him away. They went out a side door in the kitchen and Taeil could breathe again. He took a deep breath of the cool night air and sighed.
“I’ll get you a drink, wait here.”
Johnny led him to an outdoor bench, looking out into the backyard. Taeil looked up and watched the stars, holding the rose that Johnny had given to him. Johnny came back quickly, draping a jacket over Taeil’s shoulder and giving him a cup before sitting down beside him and putting an arm around him.
“Thanks, Johnny.”
“Of course babe.” Johnny fixed some of Taeil’s hair and tucked it behind his ear. “You look so pretty, Taeil. How do you always look so pretty?”
Taeil flushed at Johnny’s sincerity, letting the alpha kiss him passionately. Now that they weren’t drenched in the scent of other people, Taeil could smell Johnny’s beautiful scent. He was wrapped in it and melted into it. When they pulled away, Johnny whispered to him.
“I want to be your boyfriend, Taeil. I don’t want anyone else but you.”
“Yeah?” Taeil placed a hand on Johnny’s neck, pulling him in for another kiss. Johnny’s hand was on Taeil’s leg, pulling his body closer.
“Yeah, I don’t want you to fall for anyone else, okay?”
Taeil chuckled, kissing the pout off Johnny’s lips.
“I don’t want anyone else either, Johnny. I want you to be my boyfriend.”
Johnny kissed him again, and again, and one more time for good measure.
“Should we get out of here?”
“Wow, my boyfriend is such a horndog!”

Jungwoo: Where did you guys go? I couldn’t find you on the dancefloor.
Taeyong: I’m with Doyoung at my place.
Ten: Omg get it, Tae!!
Taeyong: Shut up, we’re just watching movies!!
Ten: Suuuure. Anyways, Sicheng and I left for his place.
Ten: Gonna get him to bend me over if it’s the last thing I do, don’t wait up!
Taeil: My BOYFRIEND Johnny is taking me back to his place
Jungwoo: Whores, all of you.
Ten: Says the omega with two boyfriends.
Jungwoo: Yuta is not my boyfriend!
Taeil: Did you tell him that?
“Who are you talking to?” Yuta surprised Jungwoo when he whispered into his ear. The omega jumped a little, locking his phone and setting it on his lap. The two of them were sitting on the couch, waiting for Jaehyun to return upstairs.
“Nothing. I mean, just my friends. They’re all gone, of course.”
“Wow, can’t believe you got ditched on Halloween.”
Jungwoo pinched Yuta’s cheek, making a face at him.
“I know, now I’m stuck with you two.”
Yuta grinned, and Jaehyun finally returned with three drinks.
“What am I, your waiter?” Jaehyun sat back down, giving Jungwoo and Yuta their drinks. They were fruity fizzy alcoholic drinks that went down easy and cooled Jungwoo down. It was hot and they had been dancing before reclining back on the couch again.
“But you’re so good at it, babe.” Yuta joked and Jungwoo couldn’t help but giggle. Jaehyun put an arm around Jungwoo’s shoulders as they drank.
“Should we head back to the dancefloor?” Jaehyun asked, and Jungwoo shook his head.
“I’m sweaty enough already.”
“You sure about that?” Jaehyun murmured, making Jungwoo roll his eyes.
“Does Halloween make everyone horny?”
“Yes.” Jaehyun and Yuta said simultaneously.
“I need another drink.”
***
Taeyong: Did everyone make it home safely from the party?
Ten: Did you sleep with Doyoung? Tell us, tell us, tell us.
Taeyong: You are so nosy!!
Taeyong: And maybe he’s asleep in my bed right now.
Ten: Ohhh, I knew it! Sicheng is so good in bed, I could go on and on.
Taeyong: Please don’t.
Taeil: Me and my BOYFRIEND Johnny had a wonderful time last night, thank you so much for asking.
Ten: Are you going to keep typing boyfriend in all caps
Taeil: Yes :)
Taeyong: Anyone heard from Jungwoo?
Ten: I’m sure they’re taking care of him.
Jungwoo: I drank that fucking party punch and threw up everything I’ve ever eaten.
Taeyong: Oh no, are you okay??
Ten: Yikes, sorry babe.
Taeil: Did Jaehyun take care of you?
Jungwoo: Jaehyun and Yuta got me home safe and I think I threw up on one of them. I don’t remember who though.
Ten: Probably for the best, you’ll never live that done.
Taeil: Need me to pick you up and bring you home?
Jungwoo: No, I’ll be okay.
