Another day in winter, having a date outside at night seems like the best romantic thing…
Kaveh sneezed while waiting for Alhaitham’s arrival, what’s taking him so long to come to the cafe? Kaveh thinks while rubbing his hands together to gain some warmth, he didn’t think tonight would be this cold outside, he didn’t even wear gloves and a scarf. He’s gonna catch a cold if Alhaitham’s not gonna arrive quickly.
He wants to go into the cafe but at the same time thinks that is rude if he enters without Alhaitham, and just before he gets into deep thought, Alhaitham arrives.
“Hey, sorry for arriving late.” Alhaitham walks to Kaveh’s side. “That’s fine, is it because of work? I can see your eye-bags are getting darker than last few days.” Kaveh frowns at Alhaitham, he’s worried about Alhaitham’s health. He hates to see his lover working overtime and ignoring his health, even he does the same when it comes to deadlines. “Yeah.” Alhaitham sighs, “I wanted to clear all this week’s work.” Kaveh blinked, quite confused. “Why? Is there somewhere you have to go for a week so you have to finish your worksheet early?” Alhaitham then holds Kaveh’s hand. “Let’s talk inside the cafe, we wouldn’t want our master architect to catch a cold now hm?” Kaveh blushed a little at Alhaitham’s words but nodded and held Alhaitham’s hand back and walked into the cafe together.
After walking into the cafe, they chose the seats that were at the window. Then it started to snow outside, “Whew…luckily we got in just in time.” Kaveh mumbled. “What do you want to drink Kaveh?” Alhaitham handed Kaveh the menu, Kaveh takes a look and notice there’s a special drink on the menu. “Hayi look! There’s a special drink for couples!” His eyes sparkles when he says it. “The design of the drink looks cute, see there’s a kitty on it!” Alhaitham raised his eyebrow at Kaveh’s words, “A kitty? They add a cat into the drink?” Alhaitham jokes. “Of course not!” Kaveh huffs. “They made a kitty icon with a heart on the hot chocolate surface, isn’t it lovely?” “I suppose. Even I don’t think is something new since there’s some cafe around do this too.” Alhaitham replies. “Yeah yeah, but we haven’t tried it together before. Let’s order it please Hayi?”Alhaitham then raises his head from the menu, only to meet with Kaveh’s puppy eyes staring directly at his own eyes, with the cafe’s lights he can see Kaveh’s face flushed from the cold weather outside a while ago, his eyes sparkles asking to order the drink. Alhaitham felt his heart skipped a beat, “you’re so pretty senior…” “Hm? What did you say?” Kaveh questions. “I said you’re pretty, senior.” Alhaitham says, he feels his ears getting heated up when he says that, luckily he’s wearing headphones so Kaveh won’t be able to see it. “W-why did you suddenly say that?! I was just asking to order the drink!” Kaveh’s face flushed even more after Alhaitham’s comment. “Maybe you should admire yourself more often, and let’s order the drink.” Alhaitham’s face remains stoic when he says that, while Kaveh's face gets more heated up looking at Alhaitham.
“Here’s your drinks sir.” The waiter says politely while handing the couples their drinks. Kaveh smiled at her meanwhile Alhaitham just nodded at her as thank you. They have their drink in a comfortable silence until Kaveh asks. “So…are you gonna tell me why do you have to clear your workspace early?” “Well… this week is Christmas right?” Kaveh nodded. “I wanted to spend time with you this week, so I can stay with you this week and not just on Christmas,” Alhaitham says while scrolling his phone. Kaveh blinked few times when Alhaitham says that, and chuckles. “Awww Hayi! That’s so sweet of you!” Kaveh has the urge to hug Haitham. “Our apartments are just next door, you know you can find me anytime now that we are dating too!” Kaveh smiled brightly at Alhaitham. “Indeed, but I wanted to 24/7 by your side.” Alhaitham says then takes a sip of his coffee. “Hm, this coffee is quite good.” “You know you shouldn’t be drinking coffee at night right? Later you won’t be getting any sleep after.” Kaveh says while staring at Alhaitham drinking his coffee. His fingers perfectly wrapped around the coffee cup, and so is perfectly locks on Kaveh’s hand.
“Ah! What am I thinking?!” Kaveh's ears burn thinking about it, Alhaitham sees it but doesn’t comment on it. “I can still sleep peacefully after coffee, but thanks for worrying about me senior.” Alhaitham's lips smiled a little thinking that Kaveh cares about him. Kaveh’s ears now burn more and just sipping his drink. “How cute.” Alhaitham thinks and peeks at Kaveh’s face.
After they finished their drinks, they decided to go back home, only to find out that the snow now is getting thicker outside. “Oh no… I will freeze to death at this point.” Kaveh sighs, looking at the floor while thinking that. But then, suddenly something warm wrapped around his neck, he turns to his lover, who is wrapping the scarf around his neck softly. His nose now is filled with books and ink smell. Ah, he could get addicted to his boyfriend’s smell really. “Won’t you get cold Hayi? You only have one scarf.” Kaveh looks at Alhaitham, who just shrugged. “That’s fine, I won’t catch a cold easily plus our apartment isn’t really far no?” “Are you saying that my body’s weak and will catch a cold easily?” Kaveh asks, feeling a little angry. “I just don’t want my light to be sick, I’d be mad at myself if I didn’t take care of you properly,” Alhaitham replies. Just as Kaveh is about to fight back, Alhaitham kisses Kaveh’s lips softly. Leaving the architect fully flushed, opening his mouth just then closes again. The scribe smiled fondly at his lover and locks their hand together. “Let’s go home before the weather gets colder. You wouldn’t want both of us get sick together right?” Kaveh then nodded slowly, still recovering from Alhaitham’s kiss. But locks his hand back on his lover quickly, they then walk back to their apartment together in a comfortable silence, doing their own stuff.
Finally, they arrive back at their apartment, Kaveh’s feeling a little upset that they have to separate their hands. “Oh right, your scarf Haitham!” Kaveh says while trying to pull the scarf off to give it back to Alhaitham. “No need, just keep it. Give it back to me next time.” Kaveh stopped pulling off the scarf and says “Oh…if you say so! Then I’ll be keeping the scarf for a while hehe.” Kaveh giggles, then searches for his keys to open his apartment’s door. After he finds it, he says goodbye to Haitham and goes into his home. But after he settles his things and changes into his pajamas, then lays on his bed but cannot fall asleep. Later, he finds himself to be in front of Alhaitham’s apartment door.
“Is he asleep? If he is then will I be disturbing his sleep?” Kaveh thinks while struggling to press the doorbell or not, but presses anyway. The door cracks open and he jumps into Alhaitham who embraces Kaveh quickly. “What’s wrong? Did you miss me that quickly senior?” Alhaitham teases. Kaveh didn’t respond to his teasing. “Hm? My love? Or did you have a nightmare-“ He then feels his lips pressed into something warm, which is Kaveh’s lips. He then huffs and kisses back slowly. After their little make-out session, Kaveh now sitting on Alhaitham’s lap and nuzzles into the scribe’s neck, enjoying his warm embrace, his brain getting sleepy after having a long day. Alhaitham notices and carries him carefully and puts on him on his bed, kisses the architect’s forehead, and put a blanket on them. Their bodies fit each other perfectly, and also fall asleep in each other’s presence.
