Chapter 1: Getting to the bottom

Chapter Text

Hell felt violent shaking before everything went black for a minute, like the lights all got turned off and they were left with no sight.

After a few minutes of darkness, everything came back to vision, but now things felt slightly different. Somehow, hell was dirtier and more... enclosed? There was still an open sky but at a certain point outside the city, a blackness consumed the landscape like walls. And there were a lot more people too.

     Hell was full.

Charlie quickly ran down hotel stairs to see if anything got damaged in the earthquake, a few vases had fallen but nothing bad, thank God. She quickly then went outside to see if anything else was broken, nothing. Vaggie was behind her, asking the other "¿Estás bien, flor del infierno? ¿estás herido?"

"Im fine dear, go check if Nifty is fine for me please" Charlie responded, Vags nodding and going to the library. She sighed and bent down a bit, tired.

"Well that certainly came out of nowhere!" Charlie jumped, the radio demon suddenly next to her with a book on his head, presumably because it fell on his head during the earthquake.

"You can say that again," Charlie wiped her forehead and started to go see if Angel was okay, he was in his room currently.

"Oh and, if you're looking for Angel, he's gone" Alastor then told her as she was walking to the apparently missing spider's room.

"WHAT?!" Charlie whipped her head back to Alastor, very worried and frankly scared for the spider's safety.

"Some sort of portal took him, just appeared right below him and swallowed him up!" Alastor explained, but it just made more questions, "I don't know where that portal went, looked too dangerous so I wasn't gonna try it myself. And besides, it closed as soon as he got dropped in!"

"WHAT do you MEA--" as charlie was about to start tearing into the radio demon there was the sound of thunder in one of the empty rooms, making the two immediately shut up and look towards that room.

After a few seconds, Charlie (followed by Alastor) started to go up there and to that room, as cautious as can be. The hair on her arm stood on end as her hand reached for the doorknob, the slightest tingle of electricity crawling up her bones. There was the small click of the door opening but no creak as the hinges straightened. She took a look inside and...

A robot. Blue, filthy, and missing half a leg. Bleeding on a bed of dirty blue water that came to Charlie's ankles but was now pouring out. It was off it seemed.

"H- hello?" Charlie stepped in and went to take a closer look at the robot, Alastor following with an obvious curiosity in his expression. She cautiously and carefully poked its arm, nothing but almost meltingly hot metal. She pulled her hand back, putting the burned fingertip in her mouth to help with the brief burning pain. Alastor poked the bot's side with his cane/staff/microphone thing pretty hard, the wood being burnt slightly after contact.

"Welp! I'm gonna throw it in the garbage!" Alastor said, voice cheery as ever. He snapped and lifted the scalding thing up like it was paper with magic.

"N- no! Don't! I got an idea, maybe we could wait for it to cool down and maybe I can give it to Vox? To see if he can do anything with it?" Charlie suggested, seeing Alastor's smile fall at the mention of Vox, "I know you don't like the guy but c'mon! Can I try at least?" She gave him the best puppy eyes she could muster, she knew her puppy eyes always got what she wanted so she tried it. It Did Not Work.

"No." Alastor just point blank told her than teleported away with the blue bot. Well damn.

Say five hours later, about 10:30 pm give or take, Charlie went to see where exactly Alastor had thrown the weird robot away. Everyone in the hotel was mostly asleep (including Alastor) so she wouldn't have any interruptions.

Why was she so adamant about giving this robot to someone she barely knew herself but one of her dad's friends? She simply remembered that a similar-ish type of robot had dropped into hell some odd 5 years before she started the hotel, and that she remembered hearing Vox wanting to take a look inside said robot before it disappeared.

Charlotte simply figured that since another robot came to hell, Vox would like to toy around with it.

She quickly grabbed her coat for the somewhat cold nights in the pride ring and went out, leaving Vags a note on the nightstand in case she woke up.

Charlie, with her hair tied into a low bun, put her helmet on and hopped onto her bike, starting the engine and riding off.

Miles away, in a completely different building, a robot. Blue, filthy, and missing half a leg, was sat up on a chair, still off. An imp about half its size stood in front of it, carrying a few tools and trying to think of where to start.

"We could try cleaning it?" Another imp asked, peeking his head through the door, in the other room.

"Good idea Mox! Help me get it to the bath," the first one responded, a heavy southern accent to her. She put the tools down and went to pick the robot back up.
