As a young writer, I sometimes write essays in school. I hate it, because I hate writing something I don’t want to write. As I’m beginning this one, I hope I’ll enjoy the process. I apologize for any mistakes, as English is not my native language.
Before beginning this essay, I’d like to talk about my personal relationship with this musical. I watched it in 2023, and haven't stopped listening or watching it since then. I always wanted to try musicals, but didn’t know where to start. As I scrolled on this famous app named TikTok, I stumbled across a lot of edits, some of them using hamilton songs as a sound. I researched them, and decided to watch it. This was a real shock for me. It was the combination of what I loved the most. Stories, films and songs. After Hamilton, I tried to watch other musicals in English. I couldn’t finish them, probably because there weren't any subtitles. Probably because, for me, they weren’t as good as Hamilton. I then tried to watch musicals in French, but I couldn’t finish them, due to personal reasons. Therefore, Hamilton is the only musical I ever watched entirely, even if it could change by the end of the writing of this essay. This essay will be separated into chapters. I will first talk about each songs separately and then about the musical in general.
