Summary:

A peak at the life of Miorine and Suletta after the events of "With This".

Chapter Text

This is the second time they fought. The first time was when they were still studying at Asticassia, and it was over a ruined dinner plan they made; Suletta had been practicing how to make ramen from scratch for two months so Miorine can eat something healthier other than the instant ones, but Morine cancelled their dinner plan at the last possible minute because she was called in for a meeting with their investors.

“Another refill please.” She lifts her mug to a passing waitress.

A long week of dealing with the Space Alliance League over the new protocols that was sanctioned on mobile suit pilots, they’ve added seminars and classes to be taken before the pilots can renew their licenses. Peil’s insistence on her testing and reviewing their new booster model only made her schedule more hectic.

She takes a swig of her coffee, the heat barely registering on her throat.

Miorine, her wife, has accepted a collaboration with Grassley. Normally, Suletta’s fine with her decisions but the alpha in her gnaws at her for letting Shaddiq get near her wife when she knows that he still has feelings for her. Suletta made a comment, Miorine questioned it, Suletta elaborates, Miorine gets offended (rightfully so), they both get angry, and Suletta walks out fearing that she may say something to hurt her wife more.

A few of hours ago, she was just driving idly to distract her and now, she’s at a diner, a couple of blocks away from their home.

She pulls a couple of bills from her wallet and hands it to the cashier at the front, it’s more than what she’s supposed to pay for, but she doesn’t bother to take the change, just walks out and drives home.

As quietly as she can, she unlocks the door to their apartment. At this ungodly hour, she’s expecting her wife and their child already asleep.

“Suletta.” Came her omega’s tired voice. She’s leaning on their shoe cabinet by the doorway.

“Miorine..?” Concern coats her voice at the sight of Miorine, her eyes red rimmed from crying. “You’re still awake.”

She pads closer to Suletta until she can wrap her arms around her neck and pulls her down for a kiss. The alpha is confused to whether or not to reciprocate but Miorine does not seem to mind as she proceeds to nose at Suletta’s collar and the underside of her jaw.

“I thought you weren’t going to come home. You didn’t even answer your phone.”

“Sorry.” She remembers leaving her phone in the glove compartment of her car. “You and Amelia mean the most to me. I’ll always come back, promise.”

Suletta pulls her by the hips and places a soft kiss on Miorine’s forehead, “I shouldn’t have left like I did. I was jealous of Shaddiq knowing that he’d get to spend more time with you even at work. I’m sorry.”

“Dummy. Our project is strictly professional and besides, I'm not interested in anyone but you.”

“Even when I was insensitive with my words and I hurt you?”

“Really, you…” She sighs into Suletta’s embrace, “Enough, about that. Say ‘good night’ to our daughter and let’s head to bed.”

Miorine reluctantly pulls away and leads Suletta to their daughter’s room.
