Work Text:

Okay, so Yang had a slight problem. She was graduating later in the day, but she couldn’t stop throwing up. Great. Combine that with her craving for pickles and strange combinations of food, and Yang didn’t think she’d be alright. Well, that’s not entirely true. Her boyfriend was there, rubbing her shoulders and helping her calm down. She was incredibly emotional as well, especially since her extremely cute dress was a little tight now. Jaune cleared his throat before hesitantly asking her something. After three years of dating, she’d think that he’d be more comfortable asking her something. He already proposed, after all.

“Yang, is there a chance you’re pregnant?” Jaune asked. Yang wanted to laugh at how absurd that was, but then she froze. She’d missed a few days of her birth control and she’d begged Jaune to make love to her even though she knew they were out of condoms. Oh Maidens… She’s pregnant. “Yeah, I thought so. Okay, well, that gives us some options. Give me a minute.”

What was he doing? She heard him pull out his scroll and dial a number. Wait, was he calling his MOM? Just who Yang wanted to see. Juniper Arc, who never thought the brawler was good enough for her baby boy. Great… Soon, the matriarch (heh) entered the bathroom behind Jaune and knelt down next to Yang. “Yang, dear. It’s alright, everything’s going to be perfect.”

Yang reached up and noticed she was crying. “W-What do you mean? I’m pregnant! I haven’t even graduated from Beacon yet! How can I be a Huntress while pregnant?!”

“Your mother did it.” Juniper stated simply, making Yang stiffen. “You didn’t know? Raven was your age when she had you. Tai went on several missions to make sure they had enough money to build a home, as did Raven until she was too far along. Then, after a year, she left. She did some freelance work before disappearing for good. That’s not important though.” Juniper exhaled and ran a wet washcloth across Yang’s neck. “Let’s get you cleaned up for your graduation. After eight children, I know a few tricks about dealing with morning sickness.” Juniper winked at her before shooing Jaune away.

“I thought you didn’t like me.” Yang commented as Juniper helped her shower and get dressed, giving plenty of suggestions and tips about maintaining the image of normalcy for the ceremony. “You flat out told me that I wasn’t good enough for Jaune.”

“Dear, if I really thought that, would you be wearing Jaune’s grandmother’s ring right now?” Juniper asked wryly. “I told you what you needed to hear at the time. You were running yourself ragged trying to impress me, but after I told you that, you focused on Jaune again. As you should’ve from the beginning. You’re dating and will be marrying him, after all, not me.”

“Still, there was probably a better way to do that.” Yang grumbled, making Juniper laugh.

“Yes, but that wouldn’t have been as effective. Shock and awe works wonders for this type of thing.” Juniper shook her head. “Though, if I knew you were so bothered by this, I never would have done it. I’m sorry, Yang. You’ve always been good enough for my son. I look forward to when you’ll become one of my daughters.” Juniper hugged her before placing a strange nutrient smoothie in her hands. “This is essentially a natural remedy for nausea and discomfort. It tastes awful, but it’s effective.”

Yang nodded before chugging the shake. She grimaced. “You weren’t kidding.” Juniper didn’t respond. She disappeared?! How?

“Yang, mom said you were just about ready to go.” Jaune showed up in his suit. “Shall we go?” She smiled before nodding.

Her graduation gown felt a little tight, but that was probably just her head. She could barely focus on the ceremony at all though, she was too busy thinking of names and plans for Jaune and her new baby. Their new life together. She smiled at Goodwitch before taking her diploma and walking off stage and around to her seat again, thoughts of babies running through her head.

Finally, it was over and the gang all met up at a shared graduation party with their families. Blake kept giving Yang strange looks which intensified whenever she refused drinks. Finally, her partner pulled her aside and asked a simple question: “You’re pregnant, aren’t you?” Yang nodded. “I knew it. I figured you’d be by graduation with how you kept forgetting your birth control.” The blonde blushed at that.

“Blake, please don’t tell anyone. Not yet. My dad will have a heart attack if he knows I’m pregnant. Then he’ll attack Jaune.”

“Alright, alright.” Blake sighed. “Does Jaune know this though?” Yang’s eyes widened before she rushed over to Jaune faster than she’d ever gone before.

“Jaune, let’s get some air.” He nodded and followed her without any hesitation.

“Before you ask, no, I haven’t told anyone. Neither has my mom. We thought you’d want to wait for the right time.” Jaune whispered, making Yang tear up again before kissing him passionately. “Yang?”

“Do you want to ditch this party and celebrate our future together in private?” Yang asked, leaning into him and breathing in his scent.

“Already ahead of you.” Jaune whispered. She looked over and saw their car roll up before Joan stepped out and gave a two-finger salute before walking off into the night. “Even told your family that we’d probably be leaving early. What can I say? I’ve gotten pretty good at predicting my dragon’s behavior.”

Yang blushed as she felt warmth run through her entire body. “Let’s go, lover. Your baby mama needs some lovin’.” She whispered, feeling him shiver before dragging him to the car. “Oh, and I don’t think we’ll need any protection tonight. It’s not like you can make me any more pregnant.”

Jaune laughed at that before buckling into the car and driving off into the night. They had a small apartment together in Vale where they spent their weekends together. After Pyrrha’s unfortunate death, RWBY and JNR practically merged into a single team, but that also meant the blondes couldn’t get any…alone time. To solve this, Jaune got his sisters to let him sublet an apartment from them. Perfect, right?

“Jaune, I want a house.” Yang blurted out. “To raise our kid in. Preferably somewhere like Patch where we can raise him or her in peace while working as Hunters part time.”

“Yang?” Jaune asked. “I’d love that, don’t get me wrong, but why don’t we talk about this tomorrow?” Yang looked at him with wide eyes. “Let’s celebrate our future tonight before planning it tomorrow. We’ve got the rest of our lives to be together. One day at a time, okay?” Yang smiled before kissing him. He’d already parked, thankfully, so that was good.

“Have I been spacing out?” Yang asked as they walked into the apartment building.

“A little, yes. It’s understandable though. You’ve had a lot on your mind.” Jaune commented as he opened the elevator doors and pushed their floor’s button. “So, what type of celebration do you want?”

“Dancing. Some on our feet, and some on our backs.” Yang whispered, making Jaune blush. ‘I’ve still got it.’

They hurried into their apartment and proceeded to reenact the declaration of love which was responsible for the growing life inside of Yang. After that, they dreamed of what would be, enjoying each other’s company and the warmth their lover brought.

The End.
