Chapter Text
Trafalgar Law had been alive for countless centuries. The one thing that he had learned over years and years of being immortal, was that nothing ever changed. No matter how much he tried he could never change anything about his life. He was stuck. There was only one thing that always stayed consistent: the people who called him brother or son. The ones he used to consider “family”. They were always there, always breathing down his neck. Waiting for some kind of mistake, some kind of betrayal, so they could finally be rid of him. Law knew they didn’t trust him, that was a two way street.
Law had tried a long time ago to leave his so-called family, but it hadn’t ended so well. The vampire that had turned Law, countless years ago, was a kind hearted man. He used to be one of the top members of the Donquixote Clan. He was, after all, Doffy’s brother.
Law was born into an age of sickness and plague. He had been sick and dying, at the mere age of twenty-three, along that kind hearted brother came along and gifted Law with immortality. Donquixote Rosinante had never turned any other person into the creature he so despised being, only Law. He had been lonely and full of big ideas. Ideas of escape and mutiny. He thought Law could help and trained him, helping him control his urges and strengthen his powers.
But he tried to leave, his master, the vampire who turned him, the one he cared for deeply was killed in the process. Donquixote Doflamingo had at least two hundred years over him and Law was no match for the elite vampire now that he was dead. Law had been working for the bastard for centuries and he didn’t see any end in sight, but that didn't mean he just sat around and did nothing.
Doflamingo ran an underground business of sorts. He trafficked and sold other creatures to the highest bidder. It didn’t matter if they were another vampire, a werewolf, a witch, a freaking mermaid, any one and anything were just business for Doffy.
That’s where Law came in and The Family was not wrong in placing distrust in Law.
Law absolutely despised Doflamingo. He once thought of him as a great man - when he had been young and impressionable. He learned a long time ago that Doffy wasn’t the man he had put up on a throne at a young age. He was a sadistic, cruel, narcissistic bastard.
So, Law did the only thing he could do, without being noticed. He set humans and other creatures that were unfortunate enough to be captured, free. He could never do it as often as he liked, because the other vampire would grow suspicious, but he helped where he could and at least that gave him some purpose.
He made sure it always looked like an accident. Afterall, what vampire was crazy enough to let another vampire feed on them, or make the mistake of letting a witch use their powers on them. Law was crazy enough, if it meant letting other creatures be free. That was what the vampire who had turned him would want. And Law tried his best to live up to his master’s wishes.
He freed the un-freeable.
So, that was the life that Law was resigned to and he hated it, but he saw no other way out, until two injured werewolves were brought to him, in the dead of night.
