Laying flat on the ground, heavy breathing, blood pouring from his body, blurring vision it cuts to black quickly as he hears someone hurling towards him screaming his name but it's very muffled couldn't hear the voice until he heard a loud 'crack'.
Next thing was screaming, crying, probably vomit. After seeing someone being crushed and seeing blood seep from underneath them sent the whole team in agony and despair.
Eventually, he passed out from the lack of blood he had. "What do we do?" Said a whispered voice, another voice trailed along sounding hesitant to speak "I..I don't know.." The voice said voice cracking slightly before clearing up its throat to keep it from cracking more, it obviously didn't work but it pretended to not know.
"So..is Donnie going to be okay?" A familiar voice said, It was Leo, standing with his arms crossed with a mad-sad looking expression on his face, it was clear that he was extremely worried but didn't want to show it. "We don't know yet, dad is making sure if April is..ok, but for Donnie we don't know.."
Leo said okay and they talked quietly for a while, very quietly as if they didn't want anyone to hear.
There they go with that strange name, a slight groan comes from the room Donnie was supposed to be healing in, The two look over at the door, The bigger walks towards the door slowly making sure he didn't wake Donnie up fully, opening the room door and walking inside, as he reached the bed he turned on the lamp which wasn't a bright so he was quite happy it wasn't. Making sure Donnie isn't up, "Alright Leo come in, he isn't up so we are good" Hearing his slightly deep, rough voice makes it hard to understand him from what donnie is hearing but it all goes away once he falls back to sleep. Leo walks into the room excitedly but quietly, "is he breathy correctly?" Asked Leo looking over Donnie with a now worried expression as his excitement died down. "Yeah..he's breathing just fine" said Raph.
Leo nodded slightly before taking a chair and sitting down next to 'twin' brother. Mikey hurriedly ran into the room falling down on something before he could scream something at the two.
"Whoa, Michael you good?" Raph said helping his baby brother up off the floor, "yes yes Raph i'm okay!" He said before jumping up and down pointing towards the door. "That doesn't explain anything hermano," Leo says, crossing his arms once again. Mikey groans in response, grabbing both Leo and Raph arms to take them to the other room that April was getting looked at in.
They all peeked into the room where April was sitting up, with a confused look on her face. She didn't look well but tried to keep a small smile on her face. "Guy's..what's with the crying?" She asks as the three dorks that were peeking into the room started crying also. "Leo..Mikey..Raph?" She says, extra confused, "what's going on?" She started sobbing because everyone around her was crying as well, "Sorry april..we are just glad you're okay" Raph says walking into the room wiping away his own tears, "we would like for you to see donnie but.." Raph trailed off as he looked to the ground and then Splinter finished his sentence, "April..uh you need to rest and get better before seeing him, you both are in critical condit-" Before splinter could talk April shot up "Critical condition?! Splints is Donnie okay?!" She yelled slightly with a shattered look on her face, it got cut off with a raspy cough.
Splinter pats April's back soft but hard enough that the cough fully got out, then gives her a glass of water which she chugged down quickly, "so..you're telling me he's the only one that got hurt besides me?" April questioned and the snapping turtle tiredly laughed "na, we all did uhm, but it kind of healed quickly.." He said scratching the back of his head with a slight worried smile, April gave a reassuring smile as she laid back slightly with a calm face, a too much of a calm face, "i love you guys, honest", fully laying down even though she looked a-okay completely fine, like she was seconds ago, it doesn't look so now. Raph's worried smile dropped into complete confusion [with much worry] "hey hey hey– what do you mean by that April, we love you to but what do you mean" He walks-runs to her in sheer panic. As Raph towered over her, she placed a hand on his arm with a small smile, "I mean what I said, don't you guys miss me too much okay?"
"Wait no apr-" his words were cut off as april's eyes closed, her smile softened, and her hand slowly slid down to her side, Everyone felt the coldness in the air as it went more silent than ever, not to mention, what are we going to tell april's mom?
After they heard Raph sobs come out it made everyone cry, hiccups and loud wailing comes from the room the crying doesn't stop until there was sniffling, the cold air escapes to the whole lair, room to room, soon hitting the room donatello was presumably sleeping in but he had been woken up by the loud wailing coming from the other room, very cold since be doesn't have his weighted blanket with him, He couldn't talk, his throat was raspy and it hurt, so he layed blankly in a dark room with a dimmed lamp shade shining on him, Body shook slightly because of how cold it had gotten a loud groan escaped his throat, he could finally move a bit, moving with all his might to try and get off the bed, he eventually does but his strength was so far off course he almost fell down, with blurry vision, Donnie grabs onto the bed, Breathing heavily trying not to let go. Finally breathing in and steadying his breath, The purple turtle slowly walks..even though it hurts alot he wants to leave the room to find out what's going on. Every step he took the pain overfilled his body, his blurring vision starts to come back, heavy breathing he feels overwhelmingly hotter than usual
Donatello reaches the door but before he can leave the room he passes out on the floor with a loud thud that can alert his family, Raph heard it before everyone else could, making him poke his head out of the room he was in. "..donnie?" He yells out before leaving the room to see if his baby brother is okay, "Donnie yo-'' he was cut off by accidentally hitting his foot on Donnies head which makes him yelp out very loudly, That alerts everyone else who were in the room also. Leo looked over at splinter to know if it's okay to leave the room in which splinter gives a small nod before going back to look at April. Leo left the room to see if Raph was okay, “you good big guy? What happened?” He said stopping at the door way, Raph calmed down and put his hand over his chest, “im sorry Leo, i just hit something and it startled me” he said switching the light on in the room to see that donnie wasn't in the bed at all which
Immediately startled him, in which made him start frantically look around the room, while Leo looking down at the ground [and not helping his twin up] just staring, “Raph i uhm- found him” Leo says pointing at donatello who was face flat on the ground, passed out, head probably hurting from how hard Raph hit his head, and possibly bleeding out. “..Oh my god?!?” Raph says yelling then ever-so carefully picking Donnie up off the floor looking at Leo with a furious face, who was chuckling nervously, “Come on Leo, at least help him up and not stare!”
“Yeah I'm sorry Raph, that's a mistake on my part..” He says scratching head slightly, while Raph walked into the room and laid Donnie back down on the bed. While doing that he checked for injuries, which thankfully he was okay. Nothing major happened to him. “Can I check his shell?” Leo says coming from behind Raph and poking his head over to look at Donnie. Raph nodded slightly and backed away from Donnie to let Leo through, Leo walks towards Donnie carefully handling him, turning him over enough so he can see his shell, Yes it was pretty bad yes but it wasn't bleeding as much the first time, Leo sighs happily, Taking off the bandages that was wrapped around him, the blood soon had dried up. Leo sat Donatello up and held him up so he could re-wrap his bandages. After he was done he laid him back down so he could rest easily. Raph had left the room back to the room April was in to talk to his dad about April and Donnie. Soft murmuring comes from the room, Mikey had fell asleep in there while talking to Splinter Raph couldn’t take his eyes off of April’s cold body, he felt guilt swell up in him also tears come to his face before he looked away in a panic, in which Splinter had noticed comforting him. “I will tell her mother, after we will have a proper funeral for April, my son it is not your fault” He says hugging Raph..Raph hugs him back silently sobbing, Leo stayed with Donnie sitting at the edge of the bed, Looking at his brother with a worried expression on his face. Hoping he will wake up soon.
For the rest of the day it was silence, Splinter had a talk with April's mother a few hours back and is now at her house comforting her while the brothers are preparing her funeral, As they prepared her Leo couldn't help but feel bad for everything that had happened, yes they could talk to April before she died but it didn't feel sweet or anything..it felt sad, like he knew she wasn't going to live. So he cried along with his family, He couldn't stand seeing anyone else pass away like that, he promises himself that he will keep everyone alive.He feels bad for april’s mom who didn't know of this in the first place and having a Rat man to call you and tell you that you daughter had died then went to your house to comfort you? She was probably wondering when her beautiful daughter is going to be back home,saying hi, hugging each other, saying i love you..The pain she must feel knowing that her Daughter is gone is unbearable. What are we going to tell Donnie when he wakes up or when he is fully healed ‘Hey! Your best friend / sister figure had passed away a few months ago while you were still healing up!’ Good grief, it will take a toll on him for sure; grief isn't easy to live with..He isn't here to watch April be covered and buried, he wouldn't be here to check out her grave every night, he wouldn't know that she is gone..but he has to know at one point but if we tell him who knows what the hell he could do to himself, Leo can’t risk it. As Leo snapped out of his thoughts the funeral is starting, Everyone was there sunita, Cass, April's mom Carol of course, Hell even Draxum had came, Except Donnie..Leo felt his heart shatter into a million pieces as the Funeral went on and on for what felt like hours, days, maybe years to him. After they lowered her into the ground , Buried her, They all took turns placing their flowers onto her grave . Splinter left along with Draxum but the other stayed crying softly, and comforting each other. For the rest of the day it was silent, everyone was sitting around fiddling at something trying to ignore the topics that were brought up, Soon enough Carol started asking questions.
“Okay so, question” She asked, her voice raspy and quiet from all the crying she had been doing hours before “How and when did you guys meet my daughter?” After she asked the question everyone started giving their short answers finally it got to Leo, Mikey, and Raph.
Raph starts explaining how they met first.
