In the last season of the sitcom Grounded For Life (2001-2005), the family’s mother/wife Claudia (played by a then-34 Megyn Price) had just gotten pregnant. They lived in a small house on Staten Island, New York. She worked as a hostess, until getting fired in the last season and taking up the stressful job of a telemarketer. She had a husband, Sean, and 3 kids, the oldest of which, Lily, was off to college. The other two were low to mid-teen boys.
Well, my story takes place over a decade later. In theory.
While in her final stages of pregnancy, before naming their child, Claudia discovered Sean cheating on her. The other woman was wealthy and lured Sean into her life upstate – on one condition: he bring his kids with him. So, uncharacteristically, he and his two boys absconded with this mega-rich woman. Over the years Lily grew distant with college life and Claudia was left alone, embittered until her new child, a son, who she alone named Mickey, was about 5 or 6. She realized how innocent he was and how lovable. She pampered him and changed her disposition on life, being grateful for her son and a new chance at a family.
“You’re all I’ll ever need,” she would tell him as time passed.
Due to being forced to raise Mickey alone, Claudia had to move out of her house and rent a much smaller one two blocks away. She refused money sent to her by Sean or his “new wife,” but did accept small, intermittent checks from his brother Eddie, who always had a thing for her, but long ago moved out of the city with his own fiancée. These checks at least helped her stay out of particularly bad boroughs, although the house was nonetheless quite small. Given that it was just her and Mickey, she adjusted and learned to be grateful.
As Mickey matured, Claudia wasn’t too shocked about his PLP. Though not clueless about it, she found herself in online forums run by mothers affected by PLP, which influenced her acceptance of Mickey’s new behavior. She felt all the more blessed to have such an affectionate son, contrary to the selfish and indifferent males of her “previous family.” Additionally, recognizing how cold her own daughter had become, Claudia would see to it that she herself remained warm, compassionate, and selfless in her motherhood.
Although the story jumps around a little at the beginning, it narrates Claudia’s discovery of how her son feels, and both of their journeys into acceptance, liberation, and what it means to truly love, and be loved.
** My biggest reason for saying “in theory” earlier was because of how I view Megyn Price “in her prime,” circa the first few seasons of GFL. As such are my reference images, using pics of Megyn Price from the sitcom throughout every season (the most being 2 and 4). So technically she’s 44-ish in my story, but since this is erotica and already a wildly impractical story, I think we can suspend some disbelief there. Besides, I already planned on slightly embellishing the size of Claudia's curves; nothing drastic, maybe a cup size at most. Due to the first-person narrative from the son’s perspective, this last bit can be “pardoned” as embellishment—what you might expect from any juvenile telling a story.
