Chapter 1: Double heart attack

Chapter Text

Kim RokSoo has been through a lot in his life. Death was always around the corner, waiting, taunting. He didn’t expect that after almost 40 years of pain and numerous monsters, he’d die by fucking sleep.

RokSoo grudgingly opened his eyes again, bright sunny light immediately making them burn. He closed them back fast, blinking rapidly, feeling a terrible headache. Looking around, he spotted several roses, all with different colours. It was almost mesmerizing if it wasn’t for the fact that he had no idea how he ended up here. Glancing up at the baby blue sky, something that was long gone in his world, he concluded that this was totally normal. Wanting to get up, he came to realize something weird. His body has shrunk!

With small and chubby hands with short legs, Kim RokSoo was truly a toddler. Patting his locks of hair to check if they were still black, he spotted a lone grave in the middle of the magical garden. ‘Ok, this is supper weird.’ he thought to himself, getting up and coming closer to the unknown tomb. On it were the words: “Here lies Jour Henituse”. A weird name, that was strangely familiar. Record racked up what that name could belong to. Unfortunately, the results weren’t pretty.

‘Shit! Why the hell am I in the Henituse garden!’ His little fists trembled at the fact that Ron, the vicious butler of the count, might find him and kill him. Or even worse, give RokSoo to that crazy chef Beacrox and torture him! He needed to run fast.

Looking around for possibilities, RokSoo spotted a young boy with enthralling red hair and soft, brown eyes that was sitting alone on a set of stairs. Head dropped down and a sad, grieving air to him, RokSoo knew that his name was Cale Henituse and that he was even more fucked. ‘This is absolutely horrible, they’re going to find me and think I was trying to kidnap Cale! Crap, I need to hide!’ the now toddler, jumped into one of the many rose bushes this garden had. ‘Why do they like these so much, isn’t it dangerous? Why is that child here without supervision?’ RokSoo wondered but then realized that nobody had any time for Cale. ‘It must’ve been quite cold.’

Moving some leaves to try and cover himself better, Cale heard the rustling and shot up defensively. “Who are you!” No answer. RokSoo froze. “Show yourself or I’ll call the knights!” The boy demanded, coming closer to his hiding spot. RokSoo sighed, getting up carefully, to not be punctured by the many thorns of the rose bush. Cales's eyes widened in surprise since seeing a random black-haired kid in your garden is not something that people would consider normal.

Folding his arms close to his chest, Cale asked: “Who are you? How did you get here?” The intruder just shrugged and admitted that he had no idea why he was there. His name is Kim RokSoo. Assuming that he was just a lost boy the red-haired continued. “Do you have any parents I can drop you off to?” The other just shook his head, like he had no idea who he was or why he existed. Cale wanted to ask more but his mouth was dry after finding out that this Kim stranger didn’t have his parents to take care of him and that he was probably just homeless, walking around with no shelter or food.

“Are you hungry?” Cale asked instead, raising his hand. RokSoo nodded. “Come, I’ll feed you.” He then took his hand and the two scurried off into the building.

Kim RokSoo must’ve been on some sort of drugs to accept the hand of the count's son, and someone who was part of the (side) cast. It’ll be fine, it’s not like he’ll stay here for long. RokSoo will probably be dropped in an orphanage and never seen again. His brain stopped when the two arrived in front of a kitchen door.

Cale awkwardly walked forward, “You know, I usually don’t come here often.” I can see why. “But I’m sure Beacrox will cook something filling, you’re very malnourished.” Don’t you even fucking dare you-

“Young master? What brings you here, lunch just finished” A teen that was busy sharpening his knife asked. Cale just pushed RokSoo in front of him. “I found him in the backyard, he’s a homeless boy that has nowhere to go. Please make him something to eat!” Now Kim RokSoo just sounded like a lost cat that was begging to be kept as a pet. Beacrox eyed him a little but didn’t say anything and started cooking.

After the pair left the kitchen, Cale exclaimed, "Now let's meet father!” Someone, please spare RokSoo. The dragging continued this time with a lump in RokSoo's throat. ‘Beacrox was somewhat fooled since he’s currently a teen but the count? No way, I’ll be put in prison for trespassing a counts property!’ He needed to put on the greatest innocent smile he had and come up with a story. ‘So my parents were murdered and I got lost wandering around? It’s not like I’m lying…’ he was lost in this new world and his parents weren’t alive. Ouch, the last one hurt on a spiritual level. “We’re here!” Cales's voice interrupted what would’ve probably been a very sad train of thought.

Cale knocked on the door and a faint “come in” was heard. “Ah, Cale. What brings you here today? I’m very busy so unfortunately, I won’t be able to play with you” The said boy shook his head. “No father, I’m here because I’ve found a lost child.” The count's eyes widened and looked at RokSoo. The boy truly looked homeless. With lots of bruises on his body and black hair filled with leaves, a white oversized shirt acting as his outfit, he truly looked concerned. Of course, the boy had very different thoughts as he fiddled with his shirt. ‘Why is he looking at me for so long? Does he think I’m a spy!’

Deruth looked back at his son after a while. “So what do you suggest we do?” Cale proudly responded. “I want him to work for us!” RokSoo almost fainted.
