Chapter Text
Hunter was flying in his staff frantically in the middle of a breakdown caused by a nightmare he had, the Belos nightmares seemed to never stop coming back.
Edric was picking some samples he required to make a project for his beast keeping class, he was already annoyed because someone stole the materials he had already picked.
"Knowing you picked the best materials, that took you a whole hour to find, you couldn't put it in a safer place?!" Edric ranted to himself.
"You did not even put a simple illusion spell?!" Edric told himself furiously as he was searching for good materials in the forest.
In the distance he got to hear some branches breaking from the trees, the sound moved incredibly fast from one place to another around him, he was alert and ready for anything that could come out of those trees, he heard the sound coming faster as time passed.
Hunter came out of the trees flying on his staff so fast that none of the witches had enough time to react.
As soon as Hunter saw Edric his heart stopped for a second, and the most he could do was just try to avoid him, in a useless try, Hunter changed the direction of his staff, this got to, at least, not hit Edric directly, but Hunter did not get to do it completely, the back of his staff hitted Edric, making him lose balance.
Hunter looked back to Edric while he was falling to the ground, his world stopped when he saw Edric's head hit a rock.
Hunter flew back to where Edric was lying unconscious on the ground, he got there in half a second he looked at him with terror in his eyes, he desperately tried to wake him up but nothing was working, he even slapped him on the face as Luz taught him, it didn't work.
Hunter’s head was spinning trying to find solutions to everything that happened but he couldn’t process one single thought that went through his head, he got up and started walking, trying to calm down a bit.
"I did bad things as the golden guard, but never killed anyone" Hunter told himself.
A fluorescent figure with Edric’s shape came out of his body while Hunter was still pacing around mumbling nonsense, thinking what to do.
"What if somebody finds out?!" Hunter said in a scared voice, as Edric heard in the distance with curiosity,
"No, no, no, i know, no body, no crime" he said as he laughed hysterically and in desperation while Edric looked very concerned.
"I'm so fucked" Hunter said in a defeated voice, as he accepted his fate.
“The only way I can get out of this is burying Edric and myself” Hunter sighed as he got up off the ground, where he was sitting.
“Now I have to dig two graves” Hunter sighed and went to get a shovel.
"Who are you? And what happened?" Edric asked, very concerned because of what he heard Hunter say before.
Hunter got shivers all over his body hearing Edric's voice, he turned back in pure fear, to check if he was not hallucinating.
When he saw Edric's fluorescent shape that was floating behind him he jumped and fell to the ground
"You... are alive?!" Hunter said in shock.
“Of course I am alive, why would I not be alive?” Edric answered ironically.
Hunter looked at Edric in his eyes while looking at his body on the ground.
“What are you looking at?” Edric said to Hunter before turning around.
“What?!” Edric shouted while looking at his body.
“I fucking died?!” Edric asked in shock.
